Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 3 | Symphonisches Blüthner-Orchester Berlin | The Blüthner Orchestra was a German symphony orchestra active between 1907 and 1925 and based at the eponymous "Blüthner Hall" at Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory on Genthiner Straße in Berlin. It was absorbed by Berliner Symphonie-Orchester. The ensemble began under the patronage and sponsorship of Julius Ferdinand Blüthner (1824—1910), founder of the prolific piano manufacturer Blüthner Pianofortefabrik in Leipzig. In 1905, eighty-one-year-old Blüthner retired after running the company for over 50 years and passed the business over to his sons. Blüthner-Orchester became his last project; Julius died three years after its inauguration. In 1913, Blüthner-Orchester produced one of the first partial recordings of [a=Richard Wagner]'s "Ring des Nibelungen" opera cycle on [l=Anker Record] label, including ¾ of Die Walküre's first act, featuring tenor [a=Jacques Decker] and soprano [a=Erna Denera] in leading roles. In 1917, the Orchestra toured Hungary under the baton of an aspiring 18-year-old conductor, Jenő Blau (later known as [a=Eugene Ormandy], one of the world's most renowned maestros). Over the years, several notable musicians and conductors began their careers in the Orchestra, including its first concertmaster, [a=Louis Persinger], who directed the ensemble at twenty-one, and [a=Hermann Scherchen] playing viola with Blüthner at only sixteen. On 15 January 1919, the Blüthner Orchestra performed at the "proletarian" memorial for [a=Karl Liebknecht] and Rosa Luxemburg, organized by SPD (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands), falling under heavy criticism in the press; the orchestra's principal conductor, [a=Paul Scheinpflug], had to issue a public apology. One of the last notable performances under the "Blüthner-Orchester" name was in October 1924 at [l591602], with a special guest [a=Pietro Mascagni] conducting. In May 1925, the ensemble was dissolved and reorganized as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra under [a=Oskar Fried]'s direction. Blüthner-Orchester Principal Conductors 1907–1909: [a=Louis Persinger] 1909–1910: [a=Josef Stránský] 1910–1913: [a=Edmund von Strauss] 1913–1915: [a=Siegmund Von Hausegger] 1915–1920: [a=Paul Scheinpflug] 1920–1921: [a=Selmar Meyrowitz] | |

| Search | Add | 3 | Linda Lou McCall | Linda Lou McCall | Linda Lou's career spans almost 4 decades, starting as a photography and publicist, and now as a songwriter & music industry consultant specializing in entertainment marketing, street promotion, and artist development. She has worked with veterans like The Delfonics and Con Funk Shun to contemporary artists like MC Hammer and Eminem. While with Con Funk Shun, she designed album covers, created album concepts, served as the production assistant on their albums, and co-wrote songs for the band like "California 1", "Bad Lady", "Honey Wild", "Promise You Love", and "I Think I Found The Answer". She went on to be a VP with rap megastar MC Hammer from 1990 to 1992. In 1992, Linda Lou formed The Entertainment Qartel, Inc, (EQartel), specializing in music business administration, entertainment marketing and street promotion. She relocated from North Hollywood to Atlanta in 1994 and quickly built up a solid client base with artists like OutKast, Goodie Mob, Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, T.L.C., Jay-Z, Will Smith, Three-6 Mafia, Tupac, Faith Evans, and 112. As a member of the first Interscope Records Street Team, her Atlanta-based Rhyme Scene Unit Street Marketing Task Force was instrumental in the success of the debut albums of Eminem, Mya, and the Black Eyed Peas. Linda Lou was the wife of Con Funk Shun co-founder & drummer, Louis A. McCall, whom she met while they both worked at Stax Records in the mid 1970's. Louis was killed in a home invasion robbery in 1997. Linda Lou spent the next decade fighting to keep Louis' case from going cold, even persuading the Governor of Georgia to reopen the case in 2003. Her hard work finally paid off - on January 18, 2007, a Dekalb County, GA grand jury indicted a suspect on a felony murder charge. The case went to trial on July 21, 2008. However, due to problems with the state's case, the judge declared a mistrial just hours after the jury began deliberation. Linda Lou asked that the defendant not be retried so that she and her children could get on with their lives. Linda Lou excepts select consulting projects through her company Exxtra Foxx Music, LLC, the music publishing company that she's owned since 1981. In her spare time, Linda Lou volunteers as a consumer protection activist and lupus awareness advocate. She been a voting member of The Recording Academy ("The Grammy Awards") since 1977. The songs that she wrote for Con Funk Shun continue to be in demand. "Honey Wild", recorded by Con Funk Shun in 1980, was recently sampled for "Kush" by rapper Lil Wayne on his top-selling album, "Tha Carter III", released in June 2008. Along with partner Ruben L. Harper and her son Louis A. McCall II, she heads up a team of producer/songwriters. She has recently expanded the services of Exxtra Foxx Music to include consulting in song publishing and sample clearances. One of Linda Lou's photographs taken of the legendary R&B trio The Delfonics is included in the Smithsonian Institute's exhibition "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing: How the Apollo Theater Shaped American Entertainment" at the National Museum of African-American History & Culture, currently in Washington, DC through August 2011, and touring the country until 2012. |

After a year of wasting time with this drummer, T. Splatter (Velho, Lápide, Poem's Death etc) took up the drum duties. Directly influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, Hellhammer, Venom, Pentagram, as well as others of a similar dark ilk. POMBAJIRA's moniker derives from their Afro-Brazilian cultural roots and serves as a foundation to flirt with the enigmatic spiritual imagery and sometimes superstitious atmosphere which is around them. | Search | Add | 3 | Xenofanes | Xenofanes is a thrash/death metal band, based in Strängnäs, Sweden. Formed in February 1993, by Jocke Hasth (guitar) and Morgan Wiklund (drums and vocals) with Danne Sporrenstrand (guitar) joining soon after. Crille Lundin (bass) and Klabbe Alaphia (vocals) joined Xenofanes in the summer of 1994, completing the lineup, and the band was initially active until November 23, 1996. The decision to restart/reform the band came about in 2009, after Jocke and Crille "met over a cup of coffee", and Klabbe, Danne, and Morgan were all asked if they wished to join again, with Klabbe being the only former member interested. After recording a 2 song demo, with studio owner Henke Borg filling in on drums, the band recruited Mange Edqvist, in August 2011, completing their lineup

The result is a powerful iconoclastic sound and an exciting action that takes place on stage. The band consists of a composer/pianist/singer Marina Sobyanina, a baritone sax player Oleg Mariakhin, a drummer Sergey Balashov and a bass player Maximilian Grossenbacher, who recently joined the band. The musicians have fun with complicated rhythmic structures and intense textures and at the same time don’t compromise the melodic beauty of their compositions. Original compositions by Marina Sobyanina get further enlivened by improvised acrobatics on the instruments and practical jokes that musicians play on each other and the audience.

| Search | Add | 3 | Liam Gowing | The “fifth of four” kids born in Dallas, Texas to an ex-Army paratrooper father who blew out his eardrums during the Korean War and an opera singer mother with an excruciatingly accurate sense of pitch, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liam Gowing definitely took after the latter parent when it came to making music. After teaching himself to play piano and guitar by ear at the age of 10, the precocious youngster started a cover band in the seventh grade with childhood friend Bob Musso, recorded a group album of original songs at the age of 17, and composed a rock opera before graduating high school. Passing up an opportunity to attend Stanford University on scholarship, Gowing enrolled at UCLA partly to be closer to the record labels and recording studios of Los Angeles, where he would gig occasionally with college bandmates, Matt Kropp and Chris Varosy. Upon graduating magna cum laude, he next weighed an invitation to attend the Top-5 University of Chicago Law School but instead decided to backpack around the world with his trusty $100 Epiphone acoustic. Inspired to write a slew of new songs after meeting the Dalai Lama and seeing Mount Everest on the trip, Gowing returned to LA determined to land a record deal. To that end, he began recording a 4-song demo ironically entitled “The Best Thing that Never Happened to Me.” The weekend he finished the project, however, he received the news that his mother had just been diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. Thoroughly dejected, Gowing found shopping the demo during her 6-month illness to be a fool’s errand. And after another year or so of half-hearted solo acoustic shows followed by a stint as lead guitarist in a friend‘s “progadelic” jam band, he virtually hung up his guitar and concentrated instead on a burgeoning career in journalism. Writing variously for the LA Weekly, Filter, Paste, the N.M.E. and SPIN Magazine, which nominated his lengthy expose on the death of Elliott Smith for a 2005 ASME “Ellie” Award in Best Profile Writing, Gowing eventually became a city editor for the A.V. Club and thereafter a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times where he penned the notable recreation-and-adventure column, “Action Man,” and finally co-wrote and shopped a feature film script about one of the installments. In 2011, however, a chance encounter with fellow Bruin Jerry “Mr.” Pao, a turntablist in the hip-hop group 1000 Clowns, provided Gowing with an impetus to make music again. Pao, who needed “a place to crash” for a few months, offered to engineer a series of recording sessions in lieu of paying rent. Smitten, Gowing took the bait and after borrowing a bass and purloining a drum kit to complete his ramshackle “Purdizzy” home studio, became his own one-man-band. With Pao patiently overseeing the proceedings, Gowing painstakingly overdubbed guitar, bass, drums, piano, harmonica, tambourine, recorder and castanets, plus—through the magic of a MIDI keyboard—synth, organ, Rhodes, glockenspiel, steelpan, woodwinds, strings and horns to create the backing tracks to 10 new songs. After adding both lead and three- and four-part harmony vocals, Gowing collected the results in 2013 and issued them in the form of his debut solo album, Drunk Sluts Forever, mixed by yet another UCLA alumnus, guitarist Bill O’Neil. With O’Neil’s help, Gowing put together a backing band committed to playing a handful of live shows in advance of the album release party, which was a pleasant success. And yet, although the album garnered some positive reviews, culminating in KCSN program director Marc “Mookie” Kaczor declaring it to be “an instant indie rock classic,” Gowing’s efforts were hardly remunerative. With various DJs citing the “offensive” name of the album—undoubtedly unaware that the title track was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to a female friend who designed a line of T-shirts by the same name—Gowing’s efforts to expand the reach of the music via radio promotion fell flat. And unable to bankroll a longer-term supporting band on tour, he returned to freelance writing and began teaching the LSAT. Inspired by another female friend, Kim Huynh—a practicing Buddhist who, after declaring 2017 to be the year of her [metaphysical] death, decided to accomplish everything on her bucket list then and there—Gowing subsequently decided he needed to record the songs he’d written in the late 90s and early aughts in the aftermath of his mother’s death and the tragic suicide of his roommate, Josh McGinn. Doubling down on the concept, he decided to make it a double album with a second collection of more recent and “less haunted” material—all the best songs he hadn’t yet recorded. And thus, Mother Lode was born. Envisioning a number of epic productions with yet more strings, horns and “little symphonic movements” in some of the tracks, Gowing recognized that he needed to maroon himself somewhere remote, while taking a solemn vow not to return home until the project was complete. Impressed by his friend Liam Litchfield’s adventures teaching English in Beijing, he decided to move to Shanghai, China in the fall of 2017 to teach English Lit at “the MIT of the East,” Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Devoting his summer and winter breaks to arranging and recording over the following five years, Gowing completed 27 tracks in all. And returning to the USA in the summer of 2022, he asked a close friend who was uniquely qualified–Jon Griffin of LunaZen Studios–to mix 24 of the songs for inclusion on the release. Out on Gowing’s own imprint MojoSon, Mother Lode will be released through CDBaby — with digital distribution to iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Napster and more — on November 15, 2022. | |
