Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | The Space-Makers | Big Beat Band (1963-1966) Carsten "Krasser" Weber Vocal, Boris Blinoff (Guitar), Jørn "Grye" Nielsen (Organ), Hans Kelp (Drums) Jørn Bonnesen (Bass) formed in Odense Denmark in 1963 with the following members: Carsten Weber (lead-voc.) Jørn Bonnesen (bass) Hans Kelp (ex- Apron Strings, dm) Jørn Mader (ex-Teen Beats, rhythm-gt) Boris »Binkowski« Blinoff (ex- Les Amis, lead gt) Originally played in the style of Cliff Richard & Shadows, but changed the style when Big Beat -broke through, & was especially inspired by the Indonesian group - The Javalins. During a tour to Hamburg's Star Club in the summer of 1964, Blinoff left the group and joined the German group Avalons. Mader took over lead-gt. & Jørn Grüe Nielsen (ex- Rebels, org) stepped in. In the spring of 1965, Blinoff returned and Mader stepped down. This crew won the Funen Championship in Pop Music 1965 & was placed as No. 3 at the subsequent DM in the Falkoner Center the same year, which led to a record contract and the broadcast of (1). At the end of 1965, Blinoff and Grüe left and were replaced by Niels Erik »Speedy« Sejr-Nielsen (org) (ex-Teen Beats) Poul Andy Andersen (lead-gt)(ex-Teen Beats). Spacemakers disbanded in the summer of 1966. The group played primarily on Funen and in Jutland, i.a. in Centrum Pop in Århus, Tyrolerlandsbyen in Vejle and in Hot House in Odense. Was also widely used warm-up group for foreign groups in Fyens Forum, i.a. The Rolling Stones, Pretty Things and Swinging Blue Jeans. Weber and Andy Andersen continued with Les Amis. For the city of Odense's 1000th anniversary in 1988, Mader, Blinoff and Kelp restore the group for a single day, and are assisted by Torben Wulff (bass). Once again the group is restored in 1992 and 1993 - this time, however, with Thomas Jacobsen on el-b. At the event "Rock with wrinkles 2000" in Odense, the group was resurrected with 4 of the members who formed it in 1963, as well as one of the 1965 members: Mader, Blinoff, Andersen, Bonnesen and Kelp (Bonnesen had not had a bass guitar in his hand in 33 years!). Also played in June and August 2001 respectively in Den Fynske Landsby and in Kongens Have and again at "Rock med Rynker" 2001, 2002, 2003 (Kelp stopped and was replaced by Jesper Olsen (ex-Roust About, Nemo and others)) , 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 (2008 unfortunately without an ill Mader), 2009, 2010, 2011: Bonnesen, Jesper I. Olsen (dm), Andersen, Peter Hansen (voc) Released in 2010 the CD "Back in time" and in 2013 "Don't stop the music..". Had a 50th anniversary concert in 2013 with the crew Bonnesen, Olsen, Blinoff, Hansen, Andersen, Palle B. Christensen (piano), where Mader, Kelp and Rock-Nalle also participated. Dissolved in 2015 due to internal problems regarding repertoire, direction and seriousness. Poul Andy and Boris Blinoff form the group X-All Stars with Jesper Olsen (including ex-Blues Syndicate, Roust About and Spacemakers) and Erling Andersen (including ex-Rockfighters, Candy Boys and Jackson's Garden). Spacemakers continues with Bonnesen, Mader, Hansen and Nikolaj Fage Lorentzen (dm) and Palle Christensen (piano).

Search | Add | 6 | Pitt Linder | Wolfgang E. Linder | Swiss musician, recording engineer, radio-host, PA-builder etc. from Basel. Wolfgang E. (Pitt) Linder was born in Bern on 8 April 1924. Studied violin and clarinet at the Bern Music Conservatory, before discovering the tenor saxophone and American jazz which he helped introduce to Switzerland through orchestras and bands. He started out to play in some local Basel Jazz combos together with his brother Albert Linder in the early 50s. His first Rock & Roll record (Heartbreak Hotel b/w Minor Rock by Die Rock & Rollers) came out as a vinyl 45 back in ca. 1956/1957 on Tell Records. By 1957 he would become a recording artist for Grammoclub Ex Libris. From 1957 on until ca. into the early 1970's Big Pitt Linder would also be hosting his own weekly radio show on the national Swiss Basel Radio, where he would usually play some music by his own bands, mixed with lots of music by other bands. He used to record and a t times conducted hundreds of records for Ex Libris, and some other labels. Those records were usually recorded at Landgasthof Riehen (Basel), or at Radio DRS, Basel. His firm Linder Electronics, Basel, installed sound systems in discos, auditoriums and concert halls. The PA-system from the first Swiss Rolling Stones concert in Zürich was built by Pitt Linder. His undertaking used to be called "Linder Electronics" back then. Linder Electronics existed from the early 60s until around the mid '80s. Pitt Linder used to build the PA's for most of the local Basel Beat-bands from the 60s in order so that they could play in bigger venues. By the mid-60s virtually nobody would remember him as an old Jazz, and Rock & Roll musician anymore, but he built the PA system for the Montreux Jazz Festival. Later on towards the late 80s he moved to New Jersey, USA, to become a famous recording engineer (for mostly classical music) in New York City. He designed and installed the sound and light system for the Swiss Pavilion for the World Expo in Tsukuba Japan (1985). The last 14 years of his life were spent in Victoria BC Canada where he enjoyed hiking and the renowned classical and jazz community. He was a friend to the Victoria Conservatory of Music, who established a Pitt Linder Memorial Fund for young musicians after his death at the age of 94 on 1 December 2018. |

Search | Add | 6 | A-Tack | A-Tack is the first Hip-Hop group to come out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It consisted of DJ, emcee, and producer DJ Peechy (later shorted to Peech), DJ Special K, and emcee T.A. Wiz. They released a couple of singles, each getting 200-300 pressings. They recorded a handful songs and performed local shows in the mid-late 80's. They are credited as pioneers who opened the doors for other artists and groups in Milwaukee, such as Kidd Crab, DJ Blade, MIDI, 20/20 Boys, Kali Tribe, Strick Luv, Female DSC, all of them having collaborated with DJ Peechy. T.A. Wiz, a highly respected and influential emcee, was later senselessly murdered in cold blood. Peech traveled to Atlanta, changed his stage name to Speech, and started the multi-platinum, Grammy award winning Hip-Hop collective, Arrested Development, who still actively record and tour to this day. He also has a successful solo career, wrote the book "What Is Success?", and starred in the film 16 Bars. Special K joined Speech and served as Arrested Development's production manager and DJ, and produced some of their songs in the 90's. Special K now goes by DJ Kemit and is a successful producer and touring DJ.

His father, though not a performer had a love of music and introduced the young boy to Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, to this day huge influences on his music. Though geographically close to the traditional music stronghold of Sliabh Luachra, this brand of music did not rub off on the young musician. Instead, large doses of Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy and other pop rock and punk music were administered. Under these influences Brosnan left his native Ireland at the age of 18, guitar in tow and took to the streets, pubs and café bars of various towns and cities throughout Europe where he developed on his musical style by busking and gigging. In 1996 Eugene released his debut CD, "Well he said he'd be here!" to critical acclaim. Songs like Darwin Sound and I Can't Imagine marking him out as a very promising and creative young songwriter. |

Search | Add | 6 | John Doc | John Gerrard Docherty | Scottish singer and pianist, born in Holytown May 1935, died May 2022. Like a good wine, classic songs sung by a vocalist as good as John Doc can only mature with age. The Doc's career started in the early 60's, becoming the pianist in a live band before branching out with John Healy, where the duo become one of the more prominent acts when Clubland was at it's thriving best. After parting ways with Healy, Doc surrounded himself with great musicians and went off out under his own name, appearing as the resident vocalist at Hasties Farm in Blantyre – a popular entertainment venue which until the early 60’s had been a working farm. After a spell of about six years there, John moved to The Carousel in Motherwell, with the Doc and his trio playing an integral part in the club's success, so much so that John went into partnership with the owner, Gerry Gallen. Throughout his career, John became synonymous with many a venue throughout Scotland, such as Cowie Bowling Club, Cleland Miners, Carfin's Hibernian Club and Wishaw's Little Caesar's to name but a few, becoming an integral part of their respective communities as a result of his residencies. |

Search | Add | 6 | The Dream Dates | Coming out of the same extraordinarily fertile '70s Hamilton scene that brought us Teenage Head, Simply Saucer and the Forgotten Rebels, the band started out as Bored Youth, and made their 1979 live debut opening for Toronto's notorious Viletones. Soon changing their name to Dream Dates, the Hammer City combo went into the studio later that same year to lay down a seven song set that would remain ...unreleased for the next twenty-one years. Drawing on the rawest early rockabilly, snarling '60s garage punk and the furious sounds of more recent outfits like the Stooges and Dead Boys, Dream Dates backed three instant classic originals with four revved-up covers, then promptly forgot about the session as they proceeded to focus on their devastating live assault. While the band gigged well and often until their 1982 disintegration, they never did enter the studio again

Search | Add | 6 | Patterson Barrett | Austin, Texas singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for pedal steel, Dobro, and electric guitar and keyboards. Patterson Barrett moved to Austin shortly after appearing on Jerry Jeff Walker’s first release on MCA records, playing pedal steel, dobro, and guitar (including the song “L.A. Freeway”). Not long after arriving in Austin, he formed the band Partners In Crime, which included Buddy and Julie Miller, releasing one album on their own label, Criminal Records. In the years since, Patterson produced some of Hal Ketchum’s earliest demos, served in Al Kooper’s back-up band, and performed before 10,000 festival-goers as Chuck Berry’s pianist. He accompanied Nancy Griffith on Austin City Limits, legendary Austin singer Lou Ann Barton in music clubs around the country, and Buddy Miller on several records including his recent collaboration with Jim Lauderdale, Buddy & Jim. Patterson's discography includes three solo endeavors—I Must Be Dreaming (2007), "When I Was Your Age…" (2012), and the 2018 release, Give ‘Em What They Want. He cites Neil Young and country-rock pioneers Poco and the Flying Burrito Brothers as his early influences, as well as soul stalwarts such as Sam and Dave, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye. His music has been compared to John Hiatt, The Band (whose song “Sleeping” he lovingly covers), and Ryan Adams.

Search | Add | 6 | Robert H. McAnally | Australian band conductor and composer (1882-1959). Robert H. McAnally was undoubtedly the most prolific Australian composer/arranger of music for bands, particularly brass bands. His early musical career began with the Salvation Army, and he later became conductor of the New South Wales Tramways Band. He was one of the founders of the now defunct New South Wales Bandmasters’ Association based in Sydney. He wrote many difficult marches, including Implacable, Indomitable, The Spitfire, arranged Waltzing Matilda as a march and composed a programmatic march for the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932 entitled Triumph of Industry. On a visit to London he was honoured to see the Massed Guards Band march down The Mall playing his march The Spitfire, which was inspired by the Spitfire pilots of the Second World War. When the ABC established its National Military Band in 1934 it was McAnally who auditioned the players from all over Australia and brought the band together for the arrival of Colonel H.E. Adkins – director of the famous Kneller Hall Military School of Music in England. McAnally spent most of his life in Sydney and died in Albury.

Apart from his love of folk song Derek is also a keen conservationist and many of the songs on this album reflect these interests giving it a strong 'green' theme.
