Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

In 1999 Kirsten France started to guest on vocals for recording (Simon and Kirsten grew up together in Southport). The demos featuring Kirsten secured a publishing deal with Chrysalis and by the end of the year she was lead vocalist for the band. At the start of 2000 the band released their first limited edition single, Just Whistle, becoming Mark and Lard's single of the week on Radio One. Meanwhile, Xfm added the B-side, Drive Your Car, to their A-list. Writing and recording a new album's worth of material the band also found time during 2000 to recruit a new manager, Steve Lowes from Retaliate First (who also manages Ian Brown), and a keyboard player, Jane Watkins. Jane's first gig was at the Reading Festival in August, playing to nearly 1,000 festival-goers. The band also played at the Carling festival in Leeds and the Mersea Island festival (with Dodgy) in late summer. In 2000, Grand Western also wrote and performed the music for Al Murray's TV vehicle Time, Gentlemen, Please. They were voted a Top 10 act by NME at In The City in Manchester in late September (reviewed as the 'band most likely to have a massive hit'). Firm favourites of the Barfly Club, Grand Western ended the year with their first live webcast for Channel Fly, filmed upstairs at the Monarch. During 2001 they toured extensively throughout England and finished recording two singles, Radio Caroline and Complicated, intended for release in the summer of 2001.

His musical references can be found in the early 70s hard rock, prog rock and heavy metal, with a clearly distinguished low-end overdriven tone, technical ability and sense of musicality. Very controlled and tight in rhythm parts, with a sweet harmonic sense, in his solo parts he cleverly integrate techniques such as bends, hammer-on in combination with wha-wha, exploring the potential of the bass guitar. Thanks to his musical studies and a Modern Music Institute graduation he can apply his knowledge of the instrument to other genres such as pop, pop rock, folk rock appearing as a session and live player in many studio and live projects.

Search Add 6 Buddy Franklin American big band leader, songwriter, arranger and violinist. Franklin started as a boy violin prodigy. At the age of 14 he wrote and directed his own symphony. Soon after he became musical director for RKO and WLW, and had an all-girl and a rumba (native) band. He composed several published songs and arranged much of what his band played. He also wrote a book on the theory of music. His musical career was interrupted twice by tours of duty. His orchestra most often played in Chicago, Illinois at the Aragon Ballroom and the Ches Paree. But he also played at the Peabody Hotel, Memphis; Muchlebach Hotel, Kansas City, Mo., and Elitch's Gardens, Denver, building an enthusiastic and growing audience with his band. His band also played the Coca-Cola Band Light Parade program. In addition to his own violin playing he featured the "Sweethearts of the Strings," three girl violinists; the vocals of Harriet Collins and Eddie Allyn and the comedy of Milt Burns.

Search Add 6 Tina Poli-Randaccio (b nr Ferrara, 13 April 1879; d Milan, 1 Feb 1956). Italian soprano. She studied in Pesaro and made her début in 1902 at Bergamo in Un ballo in maschera. She travelled widely in Italy, Spain, Hungary and South America, mostly in lyric-dramatic and verismo roles. Admiring her Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Pietro Mascagni engaged her in 1908 to sing the heroine of his Amica in an Italian tour. In 1910, as Brünnhilde in Siegfried, she made her début at La Scala, where she also appeared in the theatre's first presentation of La fanciulla del West. Other notable roles were Aida, La Gioconda and the heroine of Pietro Mascagni's Parisina. In her only season at Covent Garden (1920) she sang Tosca, a performance praised for emotional force but criticized for unevenness. Her career lasted until 1934 with an appearance as Turandot at Bologna. Recordings show a powerful voice, capable of delicacy but inclined to shrillness at the top and having the fast vibrato characteristic of Italian sopranos of the period. She was clearly an imaginative artist, sensitive to nuance and warm in feeling. From The Grove Book of Opera Singers in Oxford Reference.

Search Add 6 Curly Clayton Harvey Ormerod Real name is Harvey Ormerod who was involved the Rolling Stones and Caravelles making some demos in his North London home studio in 1962. In 1963 he opened [l992901]. Died 2009 A new era for British television was ushered in on September 22 1955 when viewers in London were offered an alternative to the BBC. Associated Rediffusion and the Associated Broadcasting Company were commercial stations and carried advertising. Now we take for granted the fact that almost every advert has a music track that helps sell the product. Back in the summer of 1955 British advertising agencies were just coming to terms with the concept. The first agency to specially record a piece of music for an ad was J. Walter Thompson on Monday August 1 1955 when George Browne and his Calypso-Mambo Band recorded a one-minute song for use on a pilot commercial. Besides George, who played the guitar and sang, there was Curly Clayton who also played guitar and Pat Ryan on bongos. Seven years later, on October 27, two weeks after the Beatles Love Me Do entered the charts; the fledgling Rolling Stones recorded three songs at Curly Clayton's studio near Arsenal's football ground. The songs were made into a demo disc that was sent to EMI and Decca who, along with everyone else, rejected the band for a recording contract. Curly, was paid £3 for that first session.

Search Add 6 Eugene Brosnan Eugene Brosnan EUGENE BROSNAN grew up in the rural/industrial town of Millstreet in County Cork. His mother, possessing a beautiful singing voice was well known in the locality for herchoir work and her participation in many musicals. His father, though not a performer had a love of music and introduced the young boy to Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, to this day huge influences on his music. Though geographically close to the traditional music stronghold of Sliabh Luachra, this brand of music did not rub off on the young musician. Instead, large doses of Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy and other pop rock and punk music were administered. Under these influences Brosnan left his native Ireland at the age of 18, guitar in tow and took to the streets, pubs and café bars of various towns and cities throughout Europe where he developed on his musical style by busking and gigging. In 1996 Eugene released his debut CD, "Well he said he'd be here!" to critical acclaim. Songs like Darwin Sound and I Can't Imagine marking him out as a very promising and creative young songwriter.
