Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

His program Wermelin is broadcast on Swedish Radio P4 on Sundays 22.05-23.00. He has received the Swedish Radio Language Prize 1998, the Grand Radio Prize 2001 and the Grammys 2001 and 2003 for his work with music on the radio. In the summers of 2002 and 2003, they made the radio series The Svenska Ord Story about Hans Alfredson and Tage Danielsson, which subsequently resulted in the book Svenska Ord & Co, for which they received STIM's writer's scholarship in 2006. During 2007-2008, an even more historically oriented radio series is broadcast, Swedish Entertainment, which deals with Sweden's entertainment history throughout the 20th century. |

Search | Add | 4 | Kaysn | Kay Friese | Kaysn is a musical all-rounder with a unique electro sound. Behind the artist persona is the 41-year-old Hamburg-based Kay Friese, who has been pursuing his passion as a bass player, guitarist and background singer in various bands and genres since the mid-1990s. Significantly influenced by the Nu Jazz of Herbie Hancock and the sound design of Roland Voss, aka Lemongrass, Kaysn has created his own style, which combines melodic and chilled soundscapes with hip-hop beats, slow chord sequences and samples - sometimes catchy, sometimes experimental. This is complemented by cuts and scratches by his long-time companion DJ Plattitude, who runs the Islelaidback Sound studio with his partner Christian Niquet and is also responsible for the mix & mastering of Kaysn's music. The fruits of the collaboration were first manifested in 2017 on the EP "Freisemester", which was released on Stresslos Records. In 2018 the next EP followed with “Dream of a Bird”, from which the single “Girl from Uranus” was decoupled. In addition, Kaysn produced several remixes for the alternative band Access: Icarus. |

Search | Add | 4 | Fraser Gange | Fraser Gange-Adams | Scottish baritone, Fraser Gange was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1886. He died in Baltimore in 1962 at the age of 76. By 1906 he had made his London debut at Queen's Hall. In 1917 he married the Welsh soprano Amy Evans, forming a personal and artistic union which would last for the rest of his life. Gange began his recording career during the first World War, cutting his first records for English Columbia in 1915 while still a soldier in uniform. All told, 29 songs were recorded for English Columbia; they are now quite rare. In May 1918, however, the HMV house publication "The Voice" announced Gange's switch to HMV. In 1920 Fraser Gange and Amy Evans undertook a remarkable joint tour of Britain, Australia, and New Zealand--some 187 concerts in all! They kept up that pace for a few years, and at the same time Gange began to teach singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Toward the end of 1923 the Ganges set sail for New York. |

Search | Add | 4 | Clark Galehouse | [l=Golden Crest] Records was headed by Cold Spring Harbor resident [a=Clark Galehouse] at manufacturing premises in Huntington Station from 1956 until his death in 1983. Galehouse saw the independent record business grow from a cottage industry to a powerhouse on the back of rock ‘n’ roll music. He participated in this growth through his [l=Shelley Products] pressing plant, servicing many national labels. Through [l=Golden Crest] and other labels, he released a wide range of music from rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm & blues to the classics. Galehouse also recorded many college bands throughout the country. As a musician, plastics expert, recording engineer and educator he put his talents to full use in the [l=Shelley Products] and [l=Golden Crest] businesses. In 1953, Galehouse formed [l=Crest Records] in honor of his Creston, Iowa, hometown mainly as a vehicle for western singer Arizona [a=Cliff Martin (5)]. [l=Golden Crest] was introduced in late 1956, just as rock ‘n’ roll was establishing itself through Bill Haley and Elvis Presley. However, the early releases were mostly dated pop reflecting Galehouse’s formative years in music. Over a nearly 30-year time span, [l=Golden Crest] released more than 500 commercial albums (plus many custom releases for colleges and schools) and some 200 45 rpm singles. Galehouse formed a music publishing company, [l=CFG Pub. Co.] (his initials). This enabled him to publish much of the original material that was presented for recording, thereby providing a secondary income stream. Although the pressing plant was Galehouse’s cash cow, he loved producing and engineering sessions and would make regular field trips to record college and high school bands for custom release on the associated [l=Crest Records] and [l=Silver Crest] labels. In May 1959, Clark Galehouse launched teen label [l=Shelley], named after the principal [l=Shelley Products] business, by now a large independent pressing plant, and in turn Galehouse’s daughter. By 1965, Golden Crest was primarily an album label. According to Shelley Galehouse Broven, her father was “known and appreciated for letting artists do what they wanted, unlike many producers or label owners.” Throughout the '70s and early '80s, Clark Galehouse was still traveling around the United States recording college bands at conventions. But after a second attack, he died on the road in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 3, 1983, at the age of 71. An obituary in the Oyster Bay Guardian described him as “a pioneer in the field of recording and record manufacture.” [l=Golden Crest] Records lasted one more year, and [l=Shelley Products] was ended in 1985.

Search | Add | 4 | Deadsun | Deadsun is a five piece alternative metal band that explodes with energy and purpose. The music ranges from over the top aggressive to contemplative. The pounding rhythms and memorable hooks immediately grab your attention but it is the depth and intelligence of the songwriting that keep people coming back for more. In addition to the catchy songs, deadsun's live shows are volcanic, precise and exhilarating. The story of deadsun begins in 1999 when drummer Adam "bandit" Hempseed and guitarist Rex Arthur met through a mutual friend. The three formed the band that eventually became deadsun. In December of 2001, Hempseed and Arthur teamed up with singer Todd Cadorette. Dee Adman came on board after "Degenerate Matter" was recorded adding the percussive low-end tightness needed to push deadsun's live show over the top. The band quickly developed an ultra-tight high-energy live show that reflects its member's enthusiasm and conviction. Rex adds, "Our goal, every time we play is to give every thing that is in us…to hold nothing back and to always leave the stage knowing we just gave the audience one hell of a show!" After a year of playing gigs locally the band decided to go into the studio and record a demo. What started out as a demo evolved into the full length CD Degenerate Matter. The recording was done in Nashville, TN at The Track House and mixed at the Sound Kitchen. The CD was engineered, co-produced and mixed by Jim Lightman who had recorded everything from Hank III to Full Devil Jacket to India Arie. Deadsun released their CD Degenerate Matter on March 6th of 2004 in front of a packed house at the Blue Sky Court in Nashville. Deadsun is playing shows regionally every weekend, creating quite a "buzz" and winning new fans in every city they visit. Deadsun is currently in the process of assembling regional street teams to further expand their fan base. Ultimately, the goal of the band is Major Label release/distribution for their CD Degenerate Matter and to prominence on the international hard rock scene. Deadsun is a band on the brink and will not be denied.

Search | Add | 4 | Tom Gardberg | Tom Gardberg | Born 1941. A Finnish singer and songwriter. Trubaduuri Tom Gardberg (s. -41) aloitti jazzmusiikin parissa 14-vuotiaana. Hän oli mukana, kun turkulainen "Harlem Jazz Club" otti ensiaskeleitaan vuonna 1961 ja kuuluu edelleen elinvoimaisen Clubin jamimestareihin. Vuonna 1966 Tom perusti laulelmaseuran "Sällskapet Visans Vänner i Åbo", joka on maan toiseksi vanhin laulelmaseura. Tom on toiminut varsinaisen leipätyönsä ohella trubaduurina vuodesta 1964 lähtien, jolloin hän voitti Turun ruotsinkielisen "Ponnahdus pinnalle" -laulelmakilpailun. Vuonna 1965 Tomin laulelma Natthamn - Yösatama sijoittui kolmanneksi kilpailussa, jossa Tove Janssonin ja Erna Tauron kappale Höstvisa sai toisen palkinnon. Vuonna 1979 hän voitti Siipyyn laulelmakilpailun laululla Någon nynnar en vals ja 1989 Kotkan meripäivien merimieslaulukilvan laululla Yöpurjehdus. Tom Gardberg on julkaissut kaksi LP-levyä ja vuonna 2002 tupla-CD:n, joka sisältää jokseenkin koko hänen siihenastisen tuotantonsa. Sama materiaali on julkaistu nuottivihkosena Schildts -kustantamon toimesta. "Laulelmantekijänä Tom Gardberg edustaa yli neljän vuosikymmenen kattavalla tuotannollaan trubaduuriperinteen absoluuttista kärkeä. Hänen laulujensa taustalta kuultaa menneitten vuosikymmenten kotimusisoinnin perinne". Gardbergin aihepiiri liikkuu meren, saariston, perheen ja suurten eksistentiaalisten kysymysten ympärillä." Search | Add | 4 | Da Enemy | Ralf Rögner | Ralf's musical works began in May 1989 when he produced the first songs using an Commodore Amiga system. The early years mainly were the period of time were he tried a lot of different styles including techno, breakbeat and experimental stuff none of which ever has been released to public. In 1992 he acquired a set of Technics SL-1210 turntables which gave him the chance to get inspiration by the pioneers of oldschool hardcore. Following these influences he started to focus on these styles while he still produced techno and trance tracks, also in cooperation with other artists beside. The second creative phase began in 1994 when Vernon D. Hill was his working-mate at a musicstore. Influences from the early 1980's funk and soul era found their place in his music. In the later time he found back to his roots and dedicated his creativity mainly to drum & bass. In 2008 he released the first vinyl of his drum & bass project sn00ze on Enemy Movement, a label he started on January, 1st of 2006. |

Search | Add | 4 | Bliss Repair | Bliss Repair consists of St. Paul's [a=Eric Rea] and Omaha's [a=Stephen Sheehan]. The two first met while working at Spaghetti Works in Omaha in 1983 -- Sheehan as a waiter and Rea as a chef. They became musically bound thanks to a shared 3-year stint behind the counter at Homer's Records. Sheehan went on to form Omaha's first [a=Durutti Column] / [a=Throbbing Gristle] / [a=The Left Banke] - inspired rock band called [a=Digital Sex], which enjoyed its share of notoriety both locally and in, of all places, France. Rea also played in a few local bands, none of which he's willing to name (though they included The Decades), before moving to the Minneapolis / St. Paul area in '93. Bliss Repair music is anti-techno. With its lumbering beats, hippy-man bass lines, fuzzy-distorto guitars and synths, and myriad of '60s-era cult-reference samples, loops and sound effects, the duo's debut CD, Lo-fi Enlightenment, is nothing less than a stoner rock answer to Moby. And I haven't even touched on the blotter-acid-inspired spoken-word lyrics yet. Most listeners, especially those of the TRL / commercial radio variety, will find the whole thing downright weird and slightly unseemly.

Search | Add | 4 | Ruth Rodeheaver | American soprano, born January 13, 1898 in Jellicoe, Tennessee; died February 7, 1979 in Winona Lake, Indiana. Ruth Rodeheaver was a younger sister of singer and gospel music publisher Homer Rodeheaver. Growing up in Jellicoe, she was best friends with another aspiring soprano, Grace Moore, and both were enamored of soprano Amelita Galli-Curci, who often sang as a featured performer in religious revival meetings. Ruth made her first recordings in the form of test records made at Victor in June 1920, but all were rejected, and her recording debut was on the first release of her broher Homer Rodeheaver's Rainbow Records label singing "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," though she was not credited. She continued to record for Rainbow and Gennett through 1925 while attending to voice lessons in New York City; Grace Moore was her roomate there. In 1926, Ruth returned to Winona Lake and married Jim Thomas, the manager of the Rodeheaver Company's manufacturing plant. For some time in the 1930s, she was estranged from her husband, moving to Florida where she taught music to elementary school children and hosted a radio show. However, the couple eventually reconciled. After Grace Moore's death in an airplane crash in 1947, Ruth Rodeheaver resumed recording under her married name of Ruth Rodeheaver Thomas with her brother's revitalized Rainbow label. Her last commerical recordings were made for International Sacred in 1955, though still later ones exist on tape at the Winona History Center in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Search | Add | 4 | Djoko Dokich | George Dokich | Tamburitza player (b. October 20, 1889 Tuk, Srem District, Vojvodina, Serbia [then Austria Hungary] – December 24, 1944 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Born in a small village in a multi-ethnic part of what is now Serbia, "Djoko" Dokich played the prim and the brač. In August 1913, he emigrated to the United States, where he settled in Pittsburgh and became one of the founders of the popular Tamburitza Orchestra "Jorgovan". In 1975, he was inducted into the Tamburitza Association of America's Hall of Fame. His TAA Hall of Fame eulogy runs, as follows: The life story of the late Djoko Dokich reveals the great part that perseverance and determination played in altering his life, thereby enabling him to pursue his chosen field in music and marking him as one of the all-time greats in the annals of tamburitza culture. Born in Selo Tuk, in the province of Srem, Yugoslavia, Djoko's father wanted his son to follow in his footsteps as a farmer, but fate plays mysterious tricks. After a gallant try, Djoko left the farm and soon was wending his way to America. In 1909, Djoko was entertaining with the greats in the world of tambura in the United States, playing in the original Jorgovan Orchestra and enjoying it with musicians such as Baich, Deda Petrovich, Elijah Miskovich, Pete Perez, Skornjak, Jim Kovacevic and the great violinist Zerbes (a fact which probably inspired him to have his son Melvin study and become one of tamburitza's great violinists). Djoko toured with his orchestra all over the country and was on many of the vaudeville circuits. In the late twenties, Djoko Dokich's arrangements started to make an impact. Arranging for large tambura groups, it was he who made it possible for tamburasi to play selections like Mozart's "Magic Flute", the Poet and Peasant Overture, Enesco's entire "Romanian Rhapsody" by Franz Liszt and many others equally as great. A pioneer in the early recordings, Djoko Dokich recorded some 100 records and for those who are fortunate to have one or two, they are collector's items. His original recording of "Kukavica" showed his talent for arranging. With a clever arrangement, he turned an average song into a winner. Always a gentlemen respected by his peers, Djoko excelled on first Brac, but was proficient on all the instruments that make up a full compliment of a tamburitza orchestra. He also had a fine, strong tenor voice with a fantastic range. In the early 1930s, the Dokichs were living in the Pittsburgh area. Here Djoko taught music and continued his playing. By now a certain youngster was being groomed and in a few short years was to become heir apparent. Young Melvin (Milovan) Dokich and father became a familiar sight and sound for years to come until World War II ended an era. During an emergency furlough from the service of his country, a strange quirk of fate befell young Dokich. Visiting his critically ill mother, he substituted a playing engagement for his father so that the elder Dokich could attend to his wife. Midway through the performance Mel received a phone call informing him of a death in the family. Knowing the severity of his mother's illness, he assumed his mother had passed away only to hear the voice on the line repeat "Your father has died". December 1944, Djoko Dokich was laid to rest in Cleveland, Ohio, thus bringing to a close the colorful career of a great musician, who overcame many obstacles to follow his heart's desire. Spiritually, Djoko Dokich is still with us. He lives through his great arrangements and the inspirational musicianship of his son, Melvin Dokich. |
