Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | The Morricones | Austrian Band - Linz Oberösterreich --- As a homage to the sound aesthetics of the infamous Spaghetti Western, THE MORRICONES create their own "Western Drama". With acoustic guitars, double bass and drums, the band draws tonal landscapes and tells stories of tragic, only vaguely outlined heroes with heavy emotions. She meets her tendency to melancholy with a touch of irony, because you shouldn't always take the songs very seriously. Reduced singer / songwriter pieces, orchestrally prepared rock ballads, cinematic soundtrack music as well as relevant rock songs are in the repertoire of the four Upper Austrians. And whether your acoustic alternative rock is served in the Irish pubs or on the largest stage in the country such as the Gasometer or Nova Rock - the songs are lively, close to the public and, in addition to all the pathos, also served with a wink! In addition, through the harmonious, two-part vocal parts, the music develops painfully beautiful moments even in the most disturbing songs, which show that a western drama does not always have to be loud and even the heart of an outlaw can be gripped.

Search | Add | 4 | Nasty Preacher | Joel Timm | https://music-preacher.com/about With parents who really loved the music in the 70’s / 80’s it wasn’t really complicated for Joel to fall in love with the music genres of these periods. As a kid for him it was a bunch of years to search and discover through the gigantic records collection some of the most fantastic and rare masterpiece of these decades. Nowadays these memories bring back a new kind of creation for him. Music lover, DJ, producer Joel is active in the electronic music genre for more than 15 years. All has begun with The Badgers back in 2002 with two second hand Technics turntables. He was party manager of big electronic music festivals in the east of France and after that he started to produce some dark techno / minimal tracks with his best friend as The Badgers. After numerous music productions during more than 10 years in the dark techno / minimal branch with the Badgers (Creepy Finger Rec, Plankton Repellent, Momentum League, Killing Machine Rec. and many more) Joel decides to make a solo project to explore the another creative side of his personality, deeper and funkier. “Nasty Preacher” is the new born of this choice. “Nasty” was how some people portrayed the music his influences. “Preacher” is a nod to James Brown. There is only one objective, to create a good workout for your hips… Style: Electronic Musics Town: Stuttgart Labels: Groove Division, Alien Abduction, Momentum League, Absolutely Dark Records, Restore Music, Complex Textures, Select Case… Artists: Dan Gessulli, M.I.T., Technicalissues, Bredes Fernando, Damolh33, Nino Blink, Terry Whyte, Magda, Marc Houle, Dominik Eulberg, Red Robin, Heinrich & Hirtenfellner, Siopis… and so many others Influences: P-Funk, Disco, Classical Music, Progressiv Rock, New Wave, Synth Pop, Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz… Indeed the type of music is not so important. Search | Add | 4 | Xaque | Diogo Santos, Lee Miranda, Tony Cirne, Peter Cabrita, Pedro da Costa, Burt Fernandes, William Condesso | Xaque” pronounced (shock) is a Luso-American band from the New Jersey / Philadelphia area. The Portuguese word Xaque means “Checkmate”. Formed in 1992 when a few friends and original members of the band Xaque, met to record a few songs while experimenting with new recording equipment. Within months they found themselves expressing their Western European musical roots and sharing tales of heroes and heritage. Full of vigor and inspiration, they enthusiastically continued to record and draw together individuals with similar aspirations to contribute to their projects. In the summer of 1994, a vision and conviction had emerged. And as they say; the rest is history. XAQUE’S debut recording, "EVOLUÇÃO", released in 1995 was the result of their journey in the recording studio. As sons of first generation Portuguese immigrants, the undertone was to convey social awareness, political upheaval and fond remembrance of their founding fathers. Shortly after the release of "EVOLUÇÃO", XAQUE performed in various concerts in the United States with well-established performers from Portugal. XAQUE proved their worth when they took center stage at the Portuguese American Heritage Concert at the TRUMP TAJ MAHAL (Atlantic City NJ). Sharing the stage with XAQUE was [a661010], [a767164], [a1474205] and Fernando Pereira. Shortly thereafter XAQUE joined [a125903] for a three concert series of LOUD MUSIC and FUN in New Jersey. XAQUE remains the only US based band to have performed in concert with Portuguese artists of this magnitude… Having fostered a relationship with [a661010], XAQUE believed his collaboration on their recordings would bring more awareness to their project. In the Winter of 1996 Rui Veloso returned to the United States to participate. Today XAQUE find themselves survivors of life’s challenges, and on October 15th of 2002, the anticipation ends. Xaque will release their much-anticipated follow up CD to EVOLUCAO UNPLUGGED titled ALMA NUA. Xaque's "Herói do Mar - Unplugged" was nominated for the 2013 IPMA awards for best Rock Song. |

Search | Add | 4 | The Evolution of the Arm | The Evolution of the Arm channels imaginary chamber music from an alternate universe. A quartet of improvisers drawing on collective experience in classical, jazz, experimental, noise, and theater music, they’ve developed their telepathic connection across genre, time, and space. The group first convened in November 2017 in Buffalo, NY under the creative auspices of Western New York expatriate Michael McNeill (keyboards, composition). Having worked together in various combinations in Wooden Cities, Buffalo Bach Project, and Parvenue, Mike called upon Megan Kyle (oboe, English horn), Evan Courtin (violin, voice), and Katie Weissman (cello, electronics) to join him in this new endeavor. Very quickly, the group decided to focus solely on their own compositions. Since 2017, the Evolution of the Arm has performed at various venues in Buffalo and McNeill’s new home state of Virginia. Throughout this time, the group’s repertoire has come to include the original semi-composed/semi-improvised suite Jackrabbit’s Palace by McNeill, Courtin’s trio pawns for oboe, cello and voice (featuring poetry by Marina Blitshteyn) and pieces of Kyle’s ongoing text-score project, the Invisible Series. Weissman frequently rounds out programs with cello and electronics improvisations. In the summer of 2019 the group recorded their debut album Sounds Like with engineer Chris Jacobs at the University at Buffalo. Their individual and collective musical explorations continue to evolve.

Search | Add | 4 | Khanada | Khanada is the solo project of Andy K. Smith, former frontman for the Post Punk band, Peeling Grey. After a three year absence from the local music scene, Andy Smith returns with new material. Khanada is a continuation of the direction of his former project, while breaking new ground and creating a sound of its own. This effort will feature not only the results of time spent alone, but also collaborations from across the spectrum. As opposed to committing to album releases from previous endeavors, Khanada is a singles based project. New songs will be released regularly, sometimes weeks after their completion. One of the goals of this project is to bring the listener closer to the point of inspiration of songwriting. Album releases are great, but they can be a long and drawn out process. Over time, from the initial spark to mastering, certain elements of a song can change. Hence, a singles schedule may retain some more of that genesis. That's just one of the things that will set Khanada apart from the past

Search | Add | 4 | H.A.L.O. Vessel | HALO Vessel began after Ed Matus decided to take a break from the Miami Hardcore scene and go straight into the world of experimental electronica. Armed with a drum machine, an old synthesizer and an army of noisy guitar pedals he began to record a series of 4 track recordings which caught the attention of Audio Electric. In 1998, Audio Electric released his first full length effort. The self titled full length (also known as "Post Miami Vice Electronics" drew heavily from the influences of Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and Jan Hammer, but still showed off a noisy and raw sensibility which gave Matus a reputation for making sonically organic electronic music. Though certain trademarks would remain evident, his overall sound and direction evolved into what became his second release for Audio Electric, "Honest Men" E.P. Released in 2002, "Honest Men" was a quantum leap in terms of sound and style. In the first HALO Vessel full length, the overall vision was of smooth rhythms and futuristic synths. In "Honest Men", rhythms became aggressive, destructive, and pregnant with heavy bass. The synths were no longer smooth and futuristic. In "Honest Men", they became jagged, and at times, even howled like gigantic rusting machinery. Aesthetically speaking, Matus was displaying a different future than the one he showed in his first release. After the live experience of HALO Vessel, Matus deliberately set out to make a recording which almost sounded live as opposed to the very dry and sterile production heard in many IDM recordings of the time.

Search | Add | 4 | A Dozen Dying Roses | In these increasingly violent times, heavy music has become just as brutal. A Dozen Dying Roses are the emotion of today’s youth. Formed in 2004 from the ashes of numerous fallen bands, ADDR has risen. Through passion, conviction, and pure hostility towards the society that has been built around them, like many great sounds, sorrow and hope are the catalyst. Like most bands the age of its members plays a part in the how the songwriting is influenced. ADDR ranges in age from 19 to 29. This makes for an interesting mix of old school hardcore and metal traditions, and modern day melodies and ideals. Basically it’s metal as haunting as the Swedish innovators, with breakdowns that rival the heaviest hitters of today. With 2 successful demos under there arm ADDR are ready for bigger and better things. Through dedication this band has become a force in there scene and are growing in popularity with every venture made from there home in Staten Island, NY.

Gusella was introduced to the video movement after moving to New York City in 1969. There he became friends with Woody and Steina Vasulka, founders of The Kitchen; and Nam June Paik, the "grandfather of video art." Between 1971 and 1974 Gusella produced a series of abstract videotapes generated by the signal from an audio synthesizer. In 1974 he began a series of dadaist rituals in front of the camera that utilized electronic manipulation of sound and image. In addition to producing his own tapes, Ernest Gusella worked throughout the decade as a camera operator and audio and special effects technician for video artists and musicians such as Sara Hornbacher, Doris Chase, Shegeko Kubota, Nam June Paik, Count Basie, and Benny Powell.

Search | Add | 4 | Cattywompus | Cattywompus | Cattywompus is an American rock band formed in 2001 in Los Angeles, California. Cattywompus is Jonathan Lennartz lead singer/rhythm guitar, Aaron Bateman lead guitar, James Webber bass/vocals and John Webber on drums. Cattywompus released its first EP entitled, “Backwards Evolution,” a five-track album. Around this time they added Kevin Webber, John and James’ father, on percussion adding a deeper dimension to the music. The songs were recorded at Hot Pie Studios in Pasadena, California. The tracks were recorded analog by the Webber’s cousin and studio co-founder Paul Gagliaradi in a whirlwind 2 days of sessions. The band held a CD release party in North Hollywood at a favorite local venue that was overpacked and ultimately shut down by the local fire marshal. Around this time they began venturing out playing shows further out in San Diego and Tempe, Arizona. Cattywompus followed up “Backwards Evolution” with the release of the “Wildfire,” in 2005. This EP was again independently produced and basic drum tracks recorded analog at Hot Pie Studio, but this time it received assistance from Los Angeles audio producer, Kent Hitchcock. The band had these tracks digitally converted to Pro Tools. After acquiring an abandoned Santa Monica recording studio for a few months and purchasing a Pro Tools console, the band took over producing the songs. This six-song EP garnered much attention and acclaim in the indie community and received reviews comparing the band to The Black Crowes and two of its major influences, The Rolling Stones and Neil Young. Critics noted the signature “tight rhythm section” of the band and the appeal to fans of both classic rock and modern acoustic rock. (rocknworld.com and allaccessmagazine.com) They began playing at larger venues in Hollywood including The Roxy, Key Club, Viper Room and The House of Blues. In October of 2005, Cattywompus embarked on its first tour. Within one month, the band played to fans at shows and live radio performances in nine different states—from California to Florida and back. The tour greatly increased the band’s fan base and led to radio play on college radio stations and attention on the internet. Sadly the excitement from the success of the tour was short lived. Not long after Cattywompus arrived home, Kevin Webber passed away from cancer. During this time of profound loss, a rush of writing took place. To honor Kevin’s love for music, the band got together with these new songs and brought in the guidance of Britt Phillip to return to the recording studio in early 2006. Britt had been a bandmate of Kevin’s in the 70’s and 80’s who had lost contact over the years. James reached out to him after finding his name on several hand written cassette tapes in Kevin’s collection. Soon after, Britt invited the band to record in his newly built home recording studio. Within a month they had a full length record, raw and ready to mix. “Gospel Hymns and Original Sins,” the first full-length release from the band, was released in early 2007. The LP was once again self-produced, but this time Cattywompus got some help. In addition to producer Britt Phillips work, Thom Flowers mixed the tracks in Santa Barbara and Evren Goknar mastered the album at Capitol Records in Hollywood. Reviews of the album observe the emotional charge behind the album as a result of Kevin’s passing but highlight the catchiness of the tunes and well composed harmonies which arouse a sense of nostalgia. (getunderground.com) After a sold out record release party at The Roxy in Hollywood, the band embarked on a short tour opening for Reckless Kelly up the California coast through Santa Cruz and San Francisco. In 2007 Cattywompus moved to Austin, Texas. During 2007 and 2008 the band played up and down Texas hitting as many iconic theaters, honky tonks and haunts as they could find. They played notable shows at Antone’s & Momo’s in Downtown Austin and as the opener for JJ Grey & Mofro at the Granada Theater in Dallas. During this time the band started recording a new song they had been closing shows with, New Wave Outlaw Politic, at The Recording Conservatory of Austin. For the first time, there was a slow down as the band had began new lives in a new city. This was also a time where they embarked on new personal adventures and decided to take a break after 7 years of writing, rehearsing, recording and hundreds of live performances. New Wave Outlaw Politic sat quietly, locked away, unfinished and unheard. Until now. Now the New Wave Outlaw Politic is out now! Find it and any of the other Albums and EPs on all your favorite streaming and digital services. |
