Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Waulk Elektrik | UK band Waulk Elektrik was formed by fiddle-playing brother and sister Larry & Griselda Sanderson and bassist Peter Bingham in the 1990s. The original lineup changed after Larry had a serious accident. Multi-instrumentalist James Dumbelton then became a core member working side by side with Griselda and Peter as a writer/arranger. Other members were guitarist Nigel Challis and drummers Chris Pope, Mark Heyward and Kordian Tetkov. All together four albums were released. The first "Waulk Elektrik" was released on cassette and got them the deal that led to their second album "Uprooted", which was released by Dangerous Records. After splitting with Dangerous the band formed Waulk Records and went on to release their final two albums "House Music" and "UM-DI-UM".

Search | Add | 3 | Montre | This is North Wales’s latest Country Duo, who are providing a bi-lingual entertainment at venues throughout the region and beyond. Dennis Williams lives on Anglesey (Ynys Môn) and Glyn Jones resides at Trefor, hence the name MONTRE. Their repertoire is based on standard “Country” songs as performed by popular Irish and American country singers and popular Welsh ballads. They have also written Welsh words for many standard numbers and given them new treatment and thus a new lease of life. They’ve have had many years experience on the local entertainment scene, Glyn as lead singer with Wales’ first “electric” group “The Caballeros” and Dennis with both the Caballeros and “New Castaways”. Both lads being competent instrumentalists, and vocalists, have a canny understanding of each other’s harmonising talents.

Taking influence from the wide range of music he listens to and the sounds he finds and collects from everyday life, he has created a broad spectrum of electronic styles. After honing his production skills over the last decade, he has found a sound that encompasses music aimed at the dance floor, through to ambient and glitchy electronica. He has gone through the usual process of DJing from a young age and then taking the natural progression into production, with a love of dance music from early on, leading to a deeper interest into electronic music. Along the way, he discovered incredibly talented artists, such as - Telefon Tel Aviv and electronic labels such as Warp, which became a turning point in expanding not only his musical taste, but also the style of music that Chip wanted to create. |

He was an empirical musician who, with his great talent, was able to reach a level of perfection in the use of his voice. He became known in the 1930s through the national radio stations HI2, HIX, and HIN, and by the year 1940 he was so popular that he won the contest that was held at the Teatro Travieso, where he was chosen as the most popular singer of radio in Ciudad Trujillo (Santo Domingo). His triumphs continued to rise and in 1943 he was hired by "La Voz del Yuna" to sing with the [a=Super Orquesta San José]. In 1947 he returned to HIZ where he performed with the Continental Orchestra. In 1948 he returned to La Voz del Yuna, when the station had already settled in Ciudad Trujillo. In that same year he was chosen as the most popular singer in a contest that was sponsored by the magazine Salón Fígaro and that was realized by the vote of the public. In that period, he sang in duo with [a8707990]. Nicolás Casimiro sang a fundamentally Dominican repertoire, which included songs by [a=Juan Lockward], Diógenes Silva, [a=Enriquillo Sánchez], [a=Bullumba Landestoy] and Leopoldo Gómez among others. In 1957 he recorded with La Voz Dominicana a series of pieces that appeared on 45 RPM singles; among them were: "Españolita", "Su Preocupación", "Vega Vieja" and "Silencio". Later, he recorded several albums, including "Nicolás Casimiro Y Sus Amigos", "Nicolás Casimiro Canta" and "Ese Es Nicolás Casimiro". His repertoire was extensive and varied, rich in genres. His voice had a beautiful timbre, with a very accurate concept of tuning and an incomparable Antillean sentiment. On September 17th, 1964, Casimiro (who's nickname was Colás) died in the city where he was born. |

Search | Add | 3 | Powers Run Band | Powers Run Band was formed in 1978 by guitarists Sam Satler & Joey Walsh. They were childhood friends in a suburb of Pittsburgh PA called O'Hara Twp. Originally they called themselves "The Powers Run Band" after Powers Run Road. That was the main road in the neighborhood, and they seem to spend so much of their time there. After gigging extensively for over 20 yrs. they began recording more and spending less time gigging. Their latest album, "The Road From Here", features Sam & Joey along with Eileen Satler on vocals. Eileen joined the band in 1983 as a backup vocalist and took over lead vocals in '86. Mike Floccari was one of the original drummers in the band and also a longtime friend. Bassist Greg Sejko first joined up in the short-lived "Satler Walsh Band" in 1985. Greg's engineered "The Road From Here" as well. The chemistry between this close group of friends/musicians is evident in their music. While only a few songs from "The Road from Here" are now completed, more are to follow. Tracks are currently being recorded for their next release.

Search | Add | 3 | Dutch Cove Old Time String Band | The Dutch Cove String Band, part of the Appalachian family string band tradition, is named after their home valley near Canton, North Carolina. Their family fiddling roots stretch back to Turner Smathers, who was a well known musician until his death in the mid-1800s. His nephew, Hack Timmons, and another relative, Aldie Winfield Smathers, were successful fiddlers in their own right. Quay Smathers (1913-1993) played with the popular Smather's Family Band (apparently no relation) in the 1930s and early 1940s. In 1973, Quay and his daughters—June, Cynthia and Liz—formed the Dutch Cove String Band. Liz's husband, Lynn Shaw, and June's husband, Zeb Jolley, also played with the band over its 20-year history. Quay Smathers received a N.C. Folk Heritage Award in 1991 and the band performed for a final time in 1993 at Carowinds, when the Charlotte Folk Music Society honored the band and gave an award to Quay for his preservation of traditional folk music

Search | Add | 3 | Shrink Trip | Shrink Trip was formed at Drew University in Madison, NJ, circa 1989, originally by drummer Bob Joyal, guitarist Andrew Hurford and guitarist/vocalist Marc Beschler. Taking their cue from a variety of musical sources, most predominantly Camper Van Beethoven and the Butthole Surfers, with occasional forays into Bad Religion-style hardcore, Shrink Trip wanted to play a kind of psychedelic punk rock that would appeal to their mixed crowd of friends, which included punks, hippies, and plenty of in-betweens, as well as reflect their interest in, shall we say, alternate states of mind. The original line-up was filled out by Nick Boyle on bass. In 1990, Boyle was replaced by Mike Thomas, who added a funky dimension with his bass work reminiscent of Fishbone and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This line-up recorded the 'Puce-Colored Glasses' demo. For a while, they enjoyed being part of a mini-scene concentrated at Drew University, with several different on-campus bands playing joint shows at the university's coffee house The Other End and at outdoor seasonal events. Thomas subsequently left and was replaced by Jeff DeSmedt, a veteran of the multi-faceted band Roadside Myth. Not long after this, Beschler switched to concentrating purely on vocals, with Peter Bonnell of fellow Drew band Skeevy Jeets joining as the second guitarist. This quintet recorded the 'All-Purpose Creamy Head' demo, which included the song 'Curse,' a track composed by all five members that reflected their then-intense love for Fugazi. Founding member Hurford left the band a while later, to be replaced by Jason Johnson on guitar. This line-up recorded the 1993 'The 'O' Single' for Oculus records, with Bonnell deciding that it would be his last effort with the band. A while after this, another founding member, Joyal, also went on to other things and was replaced by long-time friend of the band Django Phillips, who had also done the graphic design for 'The 'O' Single.' This line-up of Beschler (vocals/guitar), DeSmedt (bass), Johnson (guitar) and Phillips (drums) played gigs in New York and New Jersey for a time before ultimately going their separate ways. DeSmedt went back to working on Roadside Myth, recording a full-length CD album, 'Surreal Woman and Other Songs,' in 1995 that included appearances by Johnson, Joyal, Phillips and Beschler. Johnson went on to spearhead the jazz rock project Fern Hill, and Beschler and Phillips joined up with Jennifer Werner and Dominick Nervi to form the mid-'90s stoner-punk-metal outfit [a=Nancy Sumatra] (originally called Guttersnipe).

Search | Add | 3 | SKUNgK | Rap-Metal band from Buffalo, NY formed in February of 1997 and parted ways in 2001. Formed in February of 1997, Skungk immediately rose to the top of their local scene in Buffalo, NY. They quickly earned a reputation with promoters and press as an energetic, emotional, down-to-earth band with ample draw. By June of 1997 they had already released a self-titled debut CD and were headlining sold-out local shows, as well as opening for national acts that came through town. Having proved themselves on stage with bands like Incubus (Immortal Records), and Bloodlet (Victory Records) in their own hometown, Skungk shot out on the road. By 1998 they had sold 1,000 copies of their self-produced debut and logged countless shows in cities all over the Northeast. Through their tireless efforts and touring, Skungk has gained an impressive fan base in their own hometown, as well as cities they travel to. They were recently awarded "Best Hardcore Band of 1999 and 2000" in both the Buffalo Beat Magazine Readers Poll and the Buffalo radio station WBNY Listeners Poll. "We do not claim to be a hardcore band," says Skungk, "We merely contain certain elements of hardcore." Whatever you call them, the five members of Skungk add up to a serious assault on the senses. The band is again generating attention with their second release entitled “Status Symbol”, another self-produced CD showing more maturity and attention to detail. In fact, Skungk has generated so much attention that they have recently shared the stage with national acts like Static X (Warner Brothers), Taproot (Atlantic), Slaves on Dope (Divine), Papa Roach, Goldfinger, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Buried Alive (Victory Records), and One Minute Silence (V2 Records). The self-released, second EP further showcases the band’s strength as songwriters without losing any of the gritty edge found on their debut EP. “Status Symbol” is original, honest, and diverse. Once again Skungk has managed to deliver something a little different in an often overpopulated genre.

Search | Add | 3 | Crawl "420" | The hardcore metal rock group Crawl "420" got its start in Anaheim, CA, in 1995. Dan Miller stepped in as singer, Chris Dorame covered bass, Zach Vodola provided the guitar work, and Jarred Pacheco offered pounding rhythm with his drums. Wild shows in and around California helped the young band build a following almost overnight. The same year of its formation, the foursome put together a debut offering for its fans, Fist to Face. Crawl "420" delivers extreme heavy rock seasoned with leftover thrash, the kind of stuff that invites the use of a mosh pit; this is music that isn't for those faint of heart, or those with sensitive sensibilities. In 1997, a sophomore release, Crawl "420" Green, hit the market. It was followed in 1999 by the album Severe and then in 2000 by Killmercial. Some of the tracks heavy metal fans can sample from these recordings are "Unforgiven," "Slime," "Head in Only," "Fucko," "Beer," "Frump," "Last Mistake," "Erase," and "Greed." Over the years the band has opened for groups including DRI 2x, Exodus, Flotsam, Man-O-War, Obituary, Sacred Reich, SOD, and Testament. In early 2001, the band went through a couple of major changes. Probably the biggest one was a change in the lineup. Guitarist Zach Vodola called it quits with the group and went out on his own. Guitarist Joe Young, who had been a onetime member of the group Comatose, replaced Vodola. The next big change was the name of the band. The members decided to do away with the "420" ending and just become known as Crawl. Crawl never went beyond the name change and later disbanded in Late 2001. In 2023, Crawl 420 reunited.
