Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Gérard-Philippe Broutin Gérard-Philippe Broutin, known as Broutin, is a French lettrist artist, born August 18, 1948 in Saint-Cloud. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 2010.. Broutin studied Art History at the University of Paris and the École du Louvre. Alongside other artists such as Maurice Lemaître, Roland Sabatier, Alain Satié, François Poyet or Jean-Pierre Gillard in particular, Broutin meets Isidore Isou in 1968 and from then on participates in most of the events and literary exhibitions of the lettrist movement. His first pictorial works were shown in March 1969, during the exhibition “Today Lettrism and Hypergraphy” at Galerie Stadler in Paris. The scattered elements that he proposes—lines of writing, hieroglyphic ideograms, empty compartments, precisely drawn—evolve towards the creation of a personal alphabet, made of notional signs, mainly animals and plants, which will be his particular mark.

Search Add 3 As For Now As For Now began with one guitar and one voice in May of 2002. And in July of that year, Jonathan Stanyard wrote and recorded his first effort, titled "We went to Alaska and froze to death...I Lost in the game of fate." After many comments by friends and strangers he began to write more songs. The first As For Now release was out on October 23rd, 2002 titled "I'll be a suicide King." Over the next few months he began to write with his brother Landon. In March of 2003, "The March Diaries EP" was released featuring Jonathan and Landon Stanyard. After difficulties of time and inspiration, Jonathan began to write on his own again. Which leaves everyone in suspense for his upcoming release "We Will Dream" EP. The music is inspired from all aspects of life: love, dreams, feelings, people, and memories of the past. With an acoustic guitar and a voice, Jonathan tries to express himself to listeners in a melodic and meaningful way. The acoustic rock is taken to another level and written so that all listeners can enjoy the music of As For Now. And if you have never seen a live performance it is well worth a first shot then make a decision.

Search Add 3 Pasteur Guy Pastor Bahi Guy, as his title indicates, is above all a pastor of the evangelical Church. His passion for singing pushes him to combine two functions: that of pastor (at the International Church of the Holy Spirit Gbala Tape Hyacinthe) and cantor. The title “I am in joy” will put the pastor-cantor in the spotlight both in Ivory Coast and outside his native country. Today he continues to perform his two functions.

Search Add 3 Steve.e! Steve Kasper The ways of music lovers are actually not that inscrutable as you might think. At least Steve’s ways of musical preferences are pretty easy to reconstruct. In his home town Demmin on the Baltic Sea there was Hip-Hop at first. After he moved to Dresden, he danced his ass off at Drum’n’Bass parties and not long after he got into djing. Dresden’s small, unfortunately now defunct club legend L’Houp was the first location for his DJ sets which were still under the banner of rough Breakbeat at that time. After he discovered Dubstep, the parties became more numerous, bigger and musically versatile. His dedication to Dubstep is reflected in his more recent productions. In spite of his young age, he is up to every trick when it comes to producing hot tunes. Good proofs of that are not only the three releases on jamendo.com but also his constantly evolving live set. At Uncanny Valley he is responsible for the required twist, for example with his “Unvexed Dub” on UV010. As part of the Sub Sickness crew again, he is taking care of Dubstep in Dresden. from: http://www.uncannyvalley.de/artists/steve-kasper/

Search Add 3 Little Miss Moffat A native of south-western Ontario, Ashley Moffat – Little Miss Moffat – spent some years touring from Windsor to Toronto and back promoting her rookie E.P., “Midnight Messages” (1999). Incredibly drawn to the Halifax music scene, Ashley migrated east to Nova Scotia in 2000. Little Miss Moffat joined forces with some Halifax musicians and put together the eye opening E.P. “Oh, Come Off It!” (2001). It gave Moffat some solid footing in the local music scene. Her follow-up LP, “Miss Canada” (2003), was recorded at the Mullet and was co-produced by Joel Plaskett. It featured Joel, Gabe Minnikin, Benn Ross, Lukas Pearse, Mark Bragg, Dale Murray and Brent Randall. “Miss Canada” had a warm sound and rich textures and was a snapshot of a time when the Khyber was the place to see live music and the Mullet was the place to record albums. “Miss Canada” earned Moffat an ECMA nomination and more credibility as a Canadian songwriter and live performer. Founder of the Halifamous Wilderbeats, Moffat also paired up with singer-songwriter Joyce Saunders to write, record, and release two children’s nature albums: “The Wilderbeats Live” (2001) and “Second Nature” (2003). The Wilderbeats had a couple of ECMA nominations and NSMW nominations and toured all over Nova Scotia, reaching as far as Alberta and Newfoundland, playing in crowded gyms, libraries, and auditoriums, for kids of all ages. Moffat and Saunders dismantled the original band a few years ago, when Ashley found herself with less and less time for music, working full time for Parks Canada at Kejimkujik. Saunders continued with the band name and joined up with another performer to write new music for the new Wilderbeats. Nearly a decade after her last recording and a year after her father’s sudden passing, Ashley Moffat makes a surprise re-appearance with a sparkly new album that displays her unique and natural talents as a songwriter for children and adults, as well as her passion for the wilderness. “Wild About Nature” (2012) is a solid blend of Moffat’s quirky and catchy nature tunes about sea cucumbers, bats, owls, beavers, and even pandas. Produced by Benn Ross, the album features the likes of Benn Ross, Old Man Luedecke, John Parker, Clive MacNutt, Joyce Saunders, and Joel Plaskett. Charged up, and ready to go another round, Little Miss Moffat re-emerges onto the music scene with a renewed commitment to just do what she loves: write, record, and play music.

But the thinkers at WCAO obstinately embraced Little Richard and Elvis Presley and The Shirelles. For roughly WCAO cornered the market among young listeners. You could walk down any street in the metro area and hear mothers hollering at their teenage kids, “Turn down that noise!” The mothers wondered why the radio was playing Jerry Lee Lewis instead of Patti Page. Radio personality with over 5 decades on the air in Baltimore including 12 years during the glory years of WCAO, then stints with WAYE, WITH, WMAR-FM. Alan also wrote music and/or produced records by local groups including Brenda & the Sentries (Bee Records), Donna Marie (Decca), Jimmy Jordan (20th Fox), The Tangiers & The Jetsons Band. Search Add 3 Chap One Sam McNulty Keeping music alive has been given new meaning - Despite the unfortunate passing of the truly gifted, multi-talented, producer and emcee - Sam McNulty aka Chap One, we are very lucky to have his music available for us to enjoy. Chris McNulty Sam’s mother is keeping her sons memory and music alive by releasing and promoting his music. Samuel McNulty aka Chap One was born in Sydney, Australia in 1981. In 1988, at age 7, he traveled with his mother to NYC and was raised in NYC through 1999. He returned to Australia at age 19, traveling back and forth between Melbourne and NYC throughout his life. Although Chap One's music clearly has its roots firmly planted in the hip hop genre, he was introduced to many different styles of music as a child growing up between cultures and across borders. His musical lineage was stronger than most, having a mother, father and step father as accomplished, internationally recognized, jazz musicians. As a result, Chap One had musical finesse running through his veins. Growing up surrounded by jazz legends, in the birth place of Hip Hop culture, he re-defined the boundaries of Hip Hop, Jazz, and RnB to masterfully craft a hybrid style reflective of his roots, and uniquely his own. “Sam had a vision for the world. It speaks powerfully through his music, his lyric, his melody, his rap, his poetry. It was louder than the voice he spoke with off the band stand because although his spirit was powerful and magnetic, he was also the softest, gentlest, most compassionate spirit I ever met in my entire life.” Chris McNulty states. “Stanger Frequencies” is a representation of Chap One and his soul. Musically it is the epitome of R&B, and jazz inspired hip-hop that is groovy and catchy enough for any music fan to embrace. However, it’s also authentically live sounding and improvisational for any jazz-heavy folks to dig as well. Lyrically, Sam flows deliciously through metaphorical “interpretations of life,” often expressing his discontent, dropping knowledge on the injustice in the world, but always through a positive lens. It’s just pure, healthy, beautiful music for all. To date Chris McNulty has released 3 albums of Chap Ones music with Strange Frequencies being largely funded by generous donors who made the mastering, artwork, and pressing of the physical copies. Be sure that there's a lot more to come and a lot more to say, from artists, jazz musicians, friends and colleagues, who worked, knew and loved Sam - The Chappy - Chap One. Toshio has also contributed reviews of dance CD's and vinyls for magazines, and has written the booklets of key albums such as Yoji and the Cyber Trance compilation series on Avex. Search Add 3 Rouge Brulé The band/project Rouge Brulé can be defined as experimental, avant garde free form jazz and minimal cosmic psychedelia. Rouge Brulé tries to push the boundaries and explores new scapes, incorporating granular techniques and improvisation. Free form with no set structure or pre-determined chord progressions, allowing for complete creative freedom. This is Minimal cosmic music with simple, repetitive rhythms and patterns, relying on a stripped-down instrumentation. They incorporates elements of space and synthetic sounds, creating a surreal, otherworldly experience. Infused with elements of psychedelia and incorporating trippy soundscapes and mind-challenging textures. This is repetition with subtle changes and synthetic drones. These become a mass of sound, motion and vibration.

Search Add 3 Audioteka Modern and timeless are two words that might seem contradictory, but come in handy when attempting to draw up the span that defines this duo hailing from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. A common love for both vinyl records and the very most modern audio technology got DJ:s Vlad Antonenko (aka Dj Vitamin) and Eddi Shkiper to bring their machines and geniuses together to make music. Tones that echo of futuristic space beats amalgated with heartfelt Siberian melancholy. Or maybe minimal techno channeled through concrete halls, abandoned submarine bases and sound architecht audio labs. You choose. Although originally intended as a live performance project, hard drives soon filled up with deep and experimental audio so violently vivid it would've been a cardinal sin not release them. We can only rejoice in that this honor came upon Astor Bell.
