Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Jeff Talman Recognized as a pioneer in the use of resonance in art (Intuit, Oxford University), Jeff Talman has created numerous important sound installations such as those in Cathedral Square, Cologne, for the MIT Media Lab, The Kitchen, Eyebeam, St. James Cathedral, Chicago, four installations in the Bavarian Forest, and those in Finland, the Czech Republic and Italy among others. His major achievement is the decade-plus exploration of reflexive resonance, the process he developed in which ambient resonance of a site becomes an installation’s sole sound source. Talman’s work further investigates the nature of sound and other primal radiant and wave forces (light, gravity, the sea) and their effects in generating concepts of natural and architectural space, human presence, place and time. Talman was trained as a composer, but also studied visual arts as an undergraduate. He attended and eventually taught and directed orchestras at Columbia University and the City College of New York. He has been awarded major fellowships including those from the Guggenheim Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts. He has been working with computers and digital sound since 1984.

Search Add 2 Moshiach Oi! Moshiach Oi! is an American Hasidic hardcore punk band from Long Beach, New York. Formed in 2008 by lead singer Yishai Romanoff and guitarist Mike Wagner, they released their debut album, Better Get Ready (2009), on Shemspeed Records, followed in 2011 by This World is Nothing. They were prominently featured in the 2012 documentary Punk Jews. Moshiach Oi! was started in 2008 by singer/guitarist Yishai Romanoff, who sought to reconcile his then-recently renewed Jewish faith with the punk rock music he had loved as a teenager. Initially a solo act, Romanoff eventually brought in his friend Mike Wagner, as well as bassist Mitchell "Mordechai" Harrison and drummer Paul "Pesach" Alpert, to complete the band. The group's debut album, Better Get Ready, produced by Wagner and mastered by veteran punk producer Don Fury, was released by Shemspeed Records and the band's own Shabasa Records label on August 25, 2009. A second album, This World is Nothing, was released two years later just on Shabasa, accompanied by the single and music video "Got Nothing On Me". The band was prominently featured in the 2012 documentary Punk Jews. A third album, Rock Rabeinu, was released on August 10, 2017.
