Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | The Ilves Sisters | The ensemble The Ilves Sisters is a group of dazzling, talented and buoyant sisters who began making music together in their childhood. The eldest of the sisters, Liidia (1990) is a pianist, works as a piano teacher and occasionally performs with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The cellist of the ensemble and the third youngest of the sisters Silvia (1992) has been a member of the Sandra Nurmsalu band as well as the string trio La Phoenix. In addition to making music with her sisters, she currently focuses on her soloist career. In 2015 she worked in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. A much beloved violin teacher Aleksandra (1993) began sharing her knowledge on violin playing at an early age and by now her pupils hold her in high esteem. At the same time she is a violin virtuoso with The Ilves Sisters. The chanticleer of the ensemble Damaris (1994) is enchanted by opera and wishes to tie her life and career with singing. She has always been interested in theatre and music and has found a symbiosis of the two in the world of opera. Gloria (1997), the youngest of the sisters has been playing the violin for more than ten years and contributes to the ensemble her youth and sweetness. Like the other sisters, she has achieved much at international competitions. All of the sisters have studied at Tallinn Music High School and are all currently furthering their education or have done so at the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy. The sisters are all highly renowned interpreters of classical music. The beginning of 2016 brought something nostalgic and musically refreshing to their repertoire – they finally made their dream of performing the repertoire of the legendary Swedish ensemble ABBA come true. The sisters have chosen their favourite pieces, and now it is possible to hear and see them perform something from the world of pop in addition to their repertoire of bright, powerful and emotional classical music. Actually, both could be described by the same adjectives! ABBA’s music has touched the Ilves girls deeply and the passion that unites the sisters when making music is phenomenal!

Search | Add | 2 | Братья Абесадзе | Six singing brothers from the village of Mukhura in Imereti, Georgia. Notes from their only record - and translation: In the ancient village, which is located behind a steep pass on the edge of Imereti, everyone, if he is not old, was sure to learn from the Abesadze family. At the main house of Zota Alexandrovich or at the sons - Vazha, Mikhail, Ingushi, Gigi, Revaz or Gela. According to a strong family tradition, all Abesadze graduate from a pedagogical institute, and all become teachers ... if music does not take over. Passion for singing is also a family tradition. She made her younger brothers professional musicians: Giga is a choir conductor, Givi (who died in a car accident) graduated from the Tbilisi Conservatory, Gela is a soloist of the Kutaisi Opera. The songs you hear were recorded in Moscow when the brothers were invited to a folklore concert at the All-Union House of Composers. Success on stage was undeniable, but recording in the studio turned out to be a difficult task for folk singers. Neither those who were recording nor the singers themselves were satisfied with the endless takes of the very songs that sounded so impressive in the concert the day before. After several hours of futile efforts, it was necessary to give way to the next team in the big studio, and to give tea to the tired brothers in a small room on the floor above. The performers were upset, but gradually the conversation turned in a different direction: they remembered friends, relatives, and long after midnight in a semi-dark and cramped studio, at two low tables twisted like a Georgian table, a song started slowly, and then louder and more confidently sounded the song. After listening for a while, the sound engineers, without saying a word, began to arrange the microphones. And in half an hour, without any takes and stops, several excellent songs were recorded on the tape. Only a small part of the extensive repertoire of the brothers fit on the disc. And these songs sound only like a modest echo of the generous Imeretian feast, when the whole family gathers at the hospitable table in the spacious parental house - sons, daughters-in-law, children. The singing of adults is replaced by an ensemble of grandchildren, and the songs of Imereti alternate with songs from other parts of Georgia. And if you want to make sure how strong the tradition is and how irreplaceable the role of the folk song in it is, go to Tqibuli, then another fifty kilometres along the mountain road and, after overcoming a steep pass, ask the first person you meet in the village of Mukhuri, where the Abesadzes live - teachers and singers .

They became the most popular band in Cleveland performing at weddings and all sorts of parties. Already in 1938, then 23 year old Frank Yankovic asked [l1866] and [l61808] to make recordings of his band; both companies turned him down, so Frank decided to produce two 78 RPM records under his own [l1969341] label. It was "Heinie" [a7705011] who took Frank and his band to the [l620848], in Downtown Cleveland. [a6834924] owned the studio. Frank was not thinking of a music career yet, so he used "Slovene Folk Orchestra" for his band name. Frank put up all the money for his first records. All 4,000 copies were sold by Mervar's Music Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, in just a few weeks. #421 [r=16520694] #422 [r=16527273] The success of these records led to the recording and release of two more 78 RPM discs in 1939, but this time, they were on the [l1445451] label and the name of the band was [a6409286]. The band members were the same as for the above releases.

Search | Add | 2 | Tony Avitia | Tony Avitia started life in the small border town of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. As an infant, he was brought to the U.S. by his immigrant parents. His early years were spent in the diverse and creative city of Houston, Texas. Avitia finished a public education and bounced around various gigs after graduating; grocery store clerk, bicycle messenger, and legal services gopher for a well-heeled law firm, before landing on music full time. Throughout the 90s, Avitia‘s boundless work ethic and passion for music helped establish some of Houston’s most revered bands. Punk-rock mainstays 30footFALL, Fenix TX and Slip-Hop legends I-45 all count Avitia as a founding member and all have gone on to critical and commercial success in their respective genres. In addition to an extensive discography, touring with I-45 (Houston Press “Best Hip-Hop” award) included 200-300 shows a year across North America for most of the decade. Often supporting some of the most diverse artists of the era; Linkin Park, At The Drive In, Blink-182, KRS-1, Ice-T and many others. Avitia also established and currently operates indie music label Broken Note Records (Houston Press “Best Label“ Award Winner). Since 1994, the label has released over 60+ albums and compilations featuring bands from all over the globe. The label continues to this day with Marshall Falcon and associated acts as its primary focus. The 2000s came with a move to Southern California to expand the musical reach to new fans and to connect within an American music hub. Avitia would go on to form the self-named space-blues outfit “AVITIA” . He and his band were regular fixtures at the historic venues on the Sunset Strip; The Roxy, The House of Blues, and the iconic Whisky A Go Go. 5 full-length albums (including an album recorded by renowned engineer Steve Albini) and multiple nationwide tours followed. Avitia would achieve a few personal milestones in the decade, including becoming a father, finishing a BA at Cal State and finishing the New York City Marathon. The 2010s ushered in a move to the Pacific Northwest and the founding of short-lived amphibious thrash band The Big Small. After 2 albums, The Big Small disbanded and Avitia went dormant for the rest of the decade. While music writing and recording continued, the decades of live performances had taken an emotional and physical toll. Avitia channeled his energy into hundreds of canvases and became an active and exhibited visual artist. In addition, he opened a recording studio in Eugene, Oregon where he has produced/engineered over 300+ albums for a wide variety of music clients. He also went on to complete an MBA (Management) program at Northwest Christian University. He most recently produced and recorded the latest Marshall Falcon release “Go West Young Man”

Search | Add | 2 | "Cherokee" Jack Hickory | Born c.1929, New York, USA. Hickory gained his musical interest from his father who was a popular fiddle player in his local area. The interest in the American Indians, which led to his nickname, came from his grandfather, a Cherokee Indian who had relocated from Virginia to New York State in the late 1870s to work in the lumber mills. He subsequently taught the boy about the Cherokee life and its legends. Hickory learned guitar at the age of 13 and began performing at local venues. Between 1949 and 1951, he served in the American Forces, spending much of the time in Germany, where he regularly performed at clubs and on American Forces Network radio. After service, he continued to perform and research further the legends of the Cherokees and wrote many songs based on the facts and historical events that affected the lifestyle of his ancestors. He appeared at festivals in many States and also at major venues with top artists such as Pete Seeger. In 1983, he recorded Land Of My Fathers for the German Cattle label. It contained narrations and songs, which related the way the American Indian has been treated over the years with broken promises, ill treatment and massacres. Hickory eventually retired and apparently settled in Otsego County, New York.

Search | Add | 2 | Charleston Grotto | Proto punk band Charleston Grotto has got to be one of the weirdest, longest-running garage bands in the U.S. Formed in 1960, four young boys from the Larchmont area of Los Angeles started a band called the Fantastic Four: Rear (Danny Cohen), who sang and played chromatic harmonica, his younger brother Front (Greg Cohen) on converted bass, Bottom (John Haupenthal) on cardboard drums, and Fidel (George Bell) playing guitar. Rough and primitive the band existed in nether zone between surf and the first British Invasion and quickly name-changed to Charleston Grotto. They incorporated funk sounds into the avant garde stylings and punkish attitude. They played infrequently into the mid 1970s.
