Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Stephen Rey | American singer/songwriter, guitarist and bassist. Works mostly in the Americana/roots genre, his music blending elements of rock & roll, blues, country, honky tonk, and southern swamp. Has played with a number of artists as well as fronting his own acts and releasing works under his own name and as Stephen El Rey. Stephen Rey was born in Victorville, California. When he was three his family moved to San Diego, where he grew up mostly in the suburb of Lakeside. He attributes much of his musical influence to time spent on his grandparents' ranch in El Centro. He got into punk rock, started playing in bands at age fourteen, and at seventeen spent time busking in San Francisco and Berkeley. After some demo recordings funded by major labels, in 1998 he obtained a publishing deal with Warner Chappell as a songwriter; some of his songs appeared in movies and documentaries. However, he put this venture aside to focus on his growing family. In the 2000s he began performing as a side man in local San Diego acts, playing bass in Operator X and Lady Dottie & The Diamonds. He fronted his own group, Stephen Rey & The Slicks, with drummer Brian Cantrell (Operator X, Lady Dottie & The Diamonds), guitarist Mike Butler, and bassist Ryan Sinn (ex-[a=The Distillers] and [a=Angels & Airwaves]). They released the album Old Fashioned Future in 2011. The following year he put together a stripped-down version of this act called Stephen Rey And The Sextrash, with Nathan Beale (Lady Dottie & The Diamonds, ex-[a=Dirty Sweet]) on guitar and Tim Lowman ([a=Low Volts]) on percussion. Over the next few years he played bass with [a=Bartender's Bible], [a=Mad Juana], [a=Diablo Dimes], [a=John Reis], [a=El Vez], [a=The Schizophonics], and [a=The Little Richards]. Joining the Johnny Cash tribute band Cash’d Out, he began playing original material as an opening act on tour. This led him to record and release music under the name Stephen El Rey, including the self-released Stephen El Rey Sextet EP, (2016), the Poor Born EP (2017, on Pig Baby Records), and the Memphis Sessions LP (2019, Pig Baby), along with several digital singles. In 2020 he formed the avant-garde "21st century duet" Tormenta Rey with [a=Leilainia Marcus] (aka Leilainia Lovelight), in which they perform original compositions and obscure songs from the 1920s and 1930s, with Rey playing guitar and singing and Lovelight playing trumpet and performing theatrical dance.

About 1986, Kevin befriended several future groups such as Linear and Steve B. and started picking up production tips and equipment. From there he started getting into producing for himself and by 1990 he had his first release (Project 5's "The New Style" and "LSD User"). That group and the subsequent group (see K5) put out records and he learned from those ventures how to properly promote and market his material. |

When he was in pubic school, the music director guided Longdo through music and singing lessons. “He told me while some are gifted in paint or art, I was gifted in voice. He took a great interest in me and my life started before I knew it. I was on stage more as a child than I was the first 10 years of my career. They pushed me and I loved it.” At 18, he started playing piano and discovered opera. “That’s when I took a serious interest in my own voice and music and took lessons through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.” |

Search | Add | 3 | Katie J White | Originally from a very small town, Denmark in Western Australia, singer, songwriter, guitarist and bass player, Katie J White has taken her music as far as London and she has played literally hundreds of venues across Australia from Broome WA to the Sunshine Coast QLD. Her career began at age 14 when she supported The Waifs in front of thousands of people. Katie J White took out the 2016 West Australian Music Industry (WAMI) Song Of The Year Award for the Blues and Roots category with her song 'River'. 'Warrior', another track of her EP, was also nominated that year, following a double nomination in 2015 with her song 'Gypsy'. This makes three out of five tracks on her third EP WAMI nominated. In January 2017 her 4th album, ‘Red Cloud’ was released, featuring Katie’s ability to tell deep stories, through song, and also the range of musical styles she had mastered at the age of 23, from stripped back folk songs recorded with nothing but her and her guitar, to heavy and moving rock ballads driven by Katie’s bass playing style. A national tour in 2018 which includes 60 gigs in 6 months across Australia. Katie has played at all the main folk festivals in WA, including full house performances at Western Australia's renowned Fairbridge, Nukara, Nannup, and Perth International Arts Festivals. Katie's prides herself on the depth of her poetic original songs. They unfailingly take the listener on a moving journey led by her astounding vocals. Her sheer honesty and ability to tell a tail so richly within 3-5 minutes is something very unique. She exposes herself and most tragic times of life in songs like ‘Daddy in the Sky’, and shares the challenges of living in London at age 19 in songs like ‘Gypsy’. Then there’s the all heart and soul songs like “Home’ which dive into unconditional love and devotion. There is something that will touch every listener across Katie’s original song collection, and her unforgettable voice will stay with you long after the gig is over.

Search | Add | 3 | Homero Hidrobo | Homero Ojeda Hidrobo | Ecuadorian guitarist and singer. Homero Ojeda Hidrobo (Quito, October 2, 1939 - August 5, 1979) was an Ecuadorian classical guitarist and one of Ecuador's best known guitarists of the 20th century. He was also accomplished in other genres such as popular and folk music. He performed with his father [a3605211] and uncle in his youth. In 1954 he formed the quartet Guanabara y, más tarde, and later the trio Los Latinos del Ande. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s they performed all over the Americas, North, Central and Southern. In 1962 the group evolved into a group known as the Los 4 Brillantes or Los Brillantes a group which received notable recognition in the 1960s and released a number of recordings often from Fadisa Studios in Quito. Amongst his recitals or adaptions are J.S. Bach's "Ciaccona"; "The Cathedral" by Agustin Barrios Mangoré, and " La Maja de Goya " by Granados. His composition "Canta Cuando Me Ausente" (Sing, Though I Be Absent) composed by his father Marco received much acclaim. According to the noted Spanish classic guitarist Andrés Segovia who described him as "The best guitarist of the Americas". "Homero Hidrobo has been an untiring explorer of that constellation of harmonies that captures the sweet enchantment of music. His sensitivity and craftsmanship of his interpretation makes of Hidrobo a great example of permanent overcoming craftsmanship. His disciplined work it is oriented to discover the true face of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism and along with the music of America, and Ecuadorian music in particular" . Married to [a4194439], he died on August 5, 1979 only aged 39 from chronic liver disease. |

Search | Add | 3 | Matheos Sprague | Matheos' eclectic and modern approach to energizing original productions and remixing has made a unique niche in the genre of electronica and dance music. Whether it's twisting classic sounds with modern beats, or updating past legends with fresh remixes, he creates a unique vibe for the dancefloor and the lounge scene. Born to a Greek mother and an Irish/American Father, Matheos has had the benefit of being raised in various places around the globe, such as Texas, Germany, Crete, Italy, California, France, Ohio, Thessaloniki, and New York, which is what has led to this new eclectic and worldly method of production and remixing. Being exposed to many different environments and cultures has had an impact on his music and creative process. After high school, which is where he started Djing at school dances and outdoor events, he went on to college at 17 in New York City at Parson's School of Design. For the first year in NYC he was a regular on the show Club MTV, which allowed him the opportunity and exposure to such diverse artists as Big Daddy Kane, Sheena Easton, DJ Easy Rock, Souxie Soux and the Banchees, The Dead Milkmen, Information Society, Samantha Fox, to name a few. His second year of college was spent in Paris, France, where he immersed himself in the European dance scene of the late 80's. He then came back to New York City to finish his degree at Parson's and upon graduating, he landed a high profile design job in Munich, Germany. After 4 years there, he came back again to NYC to work for Tommy Hilfiger. Coming back to NYC is when he started to pursue his production and remixing passions in the studio. Matheos' first project was producing an original album fusing opera and electronica. During this time he also started working with the Greek-Cypriot singer, ALEXIA, producing 3 new original tracks, and remixing her retrospective CD. On the remix front, his first project was remixing ANN MARGRET's remix project, which was used for her North American tour. After doing a remix for MERV GRIFFIN in L.A., and upon Mr. Griffin's suggestion, he was inspired to compile a remix project entitled, 'REVIVA VEGAS', which includes remixes of Vegas legends such as Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Freda Payne, Peggy Lee, Wayne Newton, Tom Jones, and Liberace. Matheos continues to branch out on various projects such as his new 'GREEK TRAVELS' album, which fuses ancient Greek instruments and elements with modern electronica, 'Electro-Mythology'. Also in the works is a Greek remix compilation titled 'HELLENIC FLAVA', with modern club remixes of such famous Greek artists as; Haris Alexiou, Marinella, Aleki Youvouklaki, [a=Despina Vandi], [a=Anna Vissi], and Elli Kokkinou. His productions and remixes have been played in clubs and lounges around the world such as London, Mykonos, Munich, Los Angeles, Athens, New York, Miami, Paris, and Las Vegas. Matheos is deeply involved in the worlds of Fashion, Art, and Music, and will continue to gel and fuse in new ways the broad arena of global culture.

Search | Add | 3 | Vortex Surfer | Noise drone stonerrock psychedelic rock An explosive Dutch noise rock quartet with an affinity for melodic, yet loud, noisy guitar sounds. Vortex Surfer was formed in 2007 around the talents of the brothers Loek Engelen (lead guitar, vocals), Marco Engelen (drums), and friend Bram Stollman (bass). In 2018 they were joined by Michel Epe (guitar, vocals), forming the band’s current line-up. The self-described "loud noise" quartet, who cite bands like Motorpsycho, Sonic Youth, and Elder as their most influential inspirations, started generating regional buzz in 2017 with the release of their infectious first Album "Skypusher", going on to participate in the finals of the prestigious “Nu of Nooit” contest in 2017. Having spent most of 2018 touring and playing shows in both the Netherlands and Germany, the band has been hard at work writing and recording their latest EP, scheduled to be released in mid-2019. The creation of “Versailles” has been a process of self-development and maturation of the sound of the band, who describe the recording session of the EP as putting themselves out there, getting out of their comfort zone and trying to catch a glimpse of the power of their live performances on record. Having refined their razor-sharp sound over the past few years, the new music can be described as full-bodied, almost dream-like noise that can carry you one second, and sweep you off your feet the next.

Search | Add | 3 | Soul Habitat | Soul Habitat is an independent deep house project with musical roots firmly attached to early garage house style. At the same time, it pays tribute to the artists, who were creating the genre and the scene in 80's and 90's. Raw drum sounds, sampled organs along with classic swing grooves - each of Soul Habitat tunes brings the essence of retrospective house music with a modern twist. Throughout the organic and dirty sound, the tracks at some point reflects human life lines - full of imperfections , jumps and sudden twists and turns, but still harmonious and resonant. You can find some melodic parts that are repeated throughout the song and those that only appear for a moment and never returns. All of the tracks are largely inspired by the life of big cities - New York, London, Paris along with many others. The musical flavor of the productions is a combination of sound experiences gained from traveling to those places and inspirations that have been collected by listening to various music genres over the years. Each of the pieces is very often associated to distinctive architecture, cultural heritage and regular way of life of the inhabitants of large cities. When it comes to mixing, Soul Habitat is no newcomer to the scene. More than 10 years of experience in the production (mostly bass music under the name “Ravager”) and DJ-ingdifferent genres helped to evolve a unique style of playing sets. Combiningraw bouncing beats and melancholic soulfultunes, the sets that Soul Habitat plays are the essence from the classic "golden era" style of house music. And they are 100% vinyl. Musical inspirationscomes primarily from artists based in U.S., UK and France - especially those, who promote classical deep house and garage sounds, f.e.: Bicep, Washerman, NY Stomp (Gerd), Kool Vibe, DJ Steaw, Detroit Swindle, Jeremy MLIU, Motor City Drum Ensemble, DJ Nav, Ringard, Squarehead, The Groove Victim, New Jack City, Brawther, Enrico Mantini, Sem & Mike Sharon Ultra Knites, Alex Agore, Steve Huerta and many others.
