Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Smuk | Roger Folke-Olsen | The Smuk project is the idea based on the lack of minimalistic house and techno in the Norwegian music scene. At least that's what he thought when he created his first tracks on 'Mekanikk EP'. It seems as he was a bit wrong, if all the wonderful underground related projects which he later learnt to know are counted. To those who know him well, he is known by the name Roger, but his full name is Roger Folke-Olsen. He has now in 2004 reached the age of 24, and has been creating music for no less than eight years. Back then, he started off with old school break beats and hardcore, related to his musical roots from the UK happy hardcore / break beat scene. Since then, his musical taste and experience has changed quite radical. With deeper grooves, melodic, bizarre space fusion and intergalactic breakbeats, he brings you the sound of tomorrow. |

Search | Add | 3 | The Silent Pistols | The Silent Pistols formed in Rome, Italy, in 1992. It's a bizzare art project releasing empty records that can't be played. They call themselves "The Heroes Of Silence". Their first release was the 12" "The Screaming Noise Of Silence", in 100 numbered copies. The vinyl is completelly blank, without any track on it. Second release was the 7" "N.U.L.L.A.", an empty sleeve without anything inside. Third release was "Your Name Your Number (From A To Z)", a telephone book! Fourth release was a clear plastic fake CD entitled "Hush! They Can Hear You (NothingNadaNienteNiente MegaRaveHyperMix)" The only way to listen to anything by this band is to attend their secret live concerts, which they give each year at precise dates: 03-03-03, 04-04-04, 05-05-05, 06-06-06, 07-07-07, 08-08-08. 09-09-09, 10-10-10, 11-11-11 and so on 12-12-12.

Search | Add | 3 | Biarooz | In 2003, C. Ricardino created a new musical project and recorded, electronically, some themes that were compiled in a demo. Later, he reunited João Coutada, José Novo and João Dias. This four musicians decided to present BiarooZ, manifesting a joint will to explore their activity from the electronic base, as well as other artistic manifestations that can be associated to it. In their compositions, the digital programming and samplers are in symbiosis with other conventional instruments (guitar, bass, piano and drums). In the end, all of this sounds like electronic rock that easily becomes an ambient, "jazzy" or a powerful (almost) punk rock. They present live video sessions synchronised harmonically with the sound; they are the perfect soundtrack for their own movies; images with strange and rough sequences, made with powerful colours.

Search | Add | 3 | Miss Kytah | Since the 90’s Miss Kytah is well known in the clubbing szene of middle Germany. Not only as a DJane, but also as the organiser of the legendary “TPZ” (Therapiezentrum) partys. Gigs in nearly all german provinces made her a swell of the szene. At least her appearence at the “Sonne, Mond, Sterne” festival (the biggest of it’s kind in Europe) for the last 7 years, resounded her name throughout the land. Busy with that much activities, it is not astonishing that it took time till now for her own appearance on vinyl. With aid of producer Robbie Pallasch she merged her ideas for her tracks in the Geheimlaboratorium studio. Her interpretation of the rock-classic “Children Of The Revolution” was released in spring 2005 from Handwerk Records and contains 4 versions. Her second release is out since July 05, 2006. The 4 track vinyl, called "Heimatlieder EP", is a perfect reflection of her DJ-style. In 2008 she signed a contract with Bigger Bang Records.

Search | Add | 3 | Everett Shock | As the 80's progressed, [a=name (6)] only played sporadically and by the mid 80's they had more or less disbanded. Everett Shock was planning to leave the Bay Area and Henry Kaiser asked Shock to record unused material from the past few years before moving away to document the work and compositions of the past few years. For reasons not entirely clear, the record was released under Shock's name rather than [a=name (6)]. Wold described the album as a "love gift" to Shock. The album was mainly recorded in a home studio in southern California. All members of Name except Statham performed on the album. Everett Shock is now a professor at Arizona State University.

Search | Add | 3 | Denzil Naar | Denzil Naar | Famous Jamaican illustrator of posters for Dancehall events. His artwork can also be found on various Reggae album covers. Born: 1947 Died: July 2022 From reggaealbumcovers.com: Denzil “Sassafras” Naar is a legend in Dancehall history, who basically defined the way that dancehall events were marketed and promoted. Just like Wilfred Limonious pretty much defined the look and feel of 80s dancehall and reggae record sleeves, it was Sassafras who set the style and standard of the posters promoting dancehall events and sound systems. His work was so distinctive and ubiquitous in the 80s dancehall scene that the language and slang he often employed on his posters became adopted in the dancehalls and by Sound Systems. Denzil “Sassafras” Naar was born in 1947 and was nicknamed after a popular racehorse that used to run at Caymanas Park, Jamaica’s only racecourse, due to his love for horse-racing He started his career in design in 1975 when he started illustrating and creating hand-drawn posters to publicize the latest events, parties, and sound system clashes, for local promoters. He stumbled into poster design as a career when a friend asked Sassafras to design a poster for a dance he was holding, and Sassafras came up with a design that was unlike any others that were currently being made to promote events. His kinetic design style, distinctive lettering, and use of street slang was an instant hit and he quickly established himself as Jamaica’s premier designer for promoters and Sound Systems. At his peak, Sassafras has said that he was working 18 hours days and churning out 15 posters each week. His posters were soon seen all over the island, and his vast body of work is basically now serves as a catalog of artists, sound systems, and events that defined reggae and dancehall music through the 80s – each hand-drawn Sassafras poster was packed with information. The popularity of his posters soon earned him another nickname ‘The People’s Promoter’. Even if you have never heard of Sassafras, but have a working interest in reggae and dancehall music, then you will have seen his style, or at least seen other works that have been heavily influenced by the Sassafras. Sassafras has left his visual signature permanently on reggae and dancehall music. |

Search | Add | 3 | Found Wild | Most people have an individual journey, a path or a fate. This path intersects along the course of life with that of others, while some continue side by side before splitting into divergent directions. Tim Arnold and Keith Goodwin have been running together for some time now. While they’ve lived their own individual lives, and their paths have indeed diverged at times, they always seem to come back to one another. Something is there, and for reasons that no one can pinpoint. Perhaps it's best that way. The more mysterious a magic, the more powerful. Tim and Keith started their professional music careers in a band called Days Away in the early 00’s, and together formed Good Old War as Days Away folded. A lot happened in the 15 plus years they performed and wrote together. During this period Tim delved deeper into the world of drugs and alcohol, while Keith settled down and had a family. Their bond was stretched to the breaking point when Tim left Good Old War and moved to Atlanta, GA after learning he was going to have a child. Tim was still using drugs and alcohol as Keith continued working in Good Old War. Eventually, Tim returned to tour with Good Old War after the birth of his daughter, but couldn’t kick the habit. Heroin was getting the better of him, so he committed himself to working through these issues in treatment. At this point it seemed as though their bond may have endured enough, and would finally snap, but still it held. Tim learned how to manage his inner darkness and finally ended his affair with drugs and alcohol. Following a year of treatment and working odd jobs in the south, he came back to Pennsylvania to reunite with Good Old War. He was back, and with him came honesty and clarity. Through it all the bond had grown stronger. Keith and Tim began to write together, this time letting Tim’s voice take the lead. They had never worked this way before, and it must have been meant to be, as it worked right away almost effortlessly. The idea was to do something simple, something almost pure, something that could carry the words that were seeds growing inside them, to make manifest such a vessel, together. The sapling was dug up deep inside the dirt of the friend’s souls and planted. Like most things growing in the wilderness of the heart, it was very old and was found wild.

Search | Add | 3 | Rev. Benn Schipper | Reverend Benn Schipper got his new identity in 2003 by the witness-protection program of the federal buero of privatelektro Deutschland. His career as musician started in 1987 with a musical project called “The Wendish Childrens Of Lucifers Wife” Peace. In 1988 he joined the east-german punk-band “Raving Madness” - after the split he founded in 1989 the straight left and political oriented band “Nachkriegsjugend” - with Tom Gruschwitz (voc) and Olaf Dettinger (g). In late 1989 he started from scratch with the pure experimental band “M”. “M” transformed into a bass-guitar band (3 basses and a drum (computer)) influenced by Velvet Underground, Dinosaur. Jr. and Spacemen 3 and split in summer 1991 after hours of tape recordings and live performances. After this the Reverend founded with the former singer of “Nachkriegsjugend” the band “Riefenstahl”. “Riefenstahl did three releases “Lufthansa”, “Wieland Förster Lieder” and “Riefenstahl III” and extended their activites to an artist group who produced a series of short films, video-installations and books. The 4th release, of a number of “Vogelweide” songs, was never published (two titles appeared as remix in 2006 on Reverend Benn Schippers privatelektro “Pnet 006” release “[album]Dance Music For Shitheads With The YY-Chromosome[/album]”). Schipper joined in 1993 the berlin based “Column One” for some live performances, releases and artworks (“Vis Spei” with Genesis P-Orridge, “The Excellent Listeners” and the soundtrack “Der Unterstand”). In 1995 he renamed “Riefenstahl” into “Call Ov Stihl”. Under a new name he started in 1995 with german media-artist and Privatelektro label-mate “Igor Hax” the band “” - after the split Schipper focused only on media arts and produced in 1997 with Tilman Schmidt the piece “Dust Bin” for the international awarded multi-media CD-ROM “Dust-D-Bugger”. will be continued…

Search | Add | 3 | Michael Bialoguski | From wikipedia: Michael Bialoguski (19 March 1917 – 29 July 1984) was a medical practitioner, violinist, conductor and intelligence agent. Born to Jewish parents in the Ukraine, his family fled for their lives from the communists in 1920, only to find themselves in Poland when Russia invaded in 1939. Bialoguski fled to Sydney, where, after a period in the army, he became a doctor, and made himself available to Australian intelligence services. He played a crucial role in the Petrov Affair, which culminated in 1954. As a violinist, he had been a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, but held longstanding ambitions to be a conductor. Repeatedly rebuffed, he was eventually was accepted by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy, where he obtained his Masters Diploma in 1967 under the guidance of [a=Franco Ferrara]. But, unable to secure any regular conducting engagements in the UK, he spent his life savings to hire the [a=New Philharmonia Orchestra] for a single concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 29 April 1969, which he conducted, to lukewarm reviews. The concert included Beethoven's 4th Symphony and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the pianist [a=Fou Ts'ong] as soloist. He also formed the Commonwealth Philharmonic Orchestra, which he conducted at the Albert Hall and in Westminster Abbey. He recorded two symphonies with the New Philharmonia - Martinů's 6th Symphony and Voříšek's Symphony in D - which were released on LP by Unicorn Records.

Unified by their affection for traditional jazz, the membership was flexible and drew on practically all willing players in the northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. The personnel included a dentist, a physician, a commercial pilot, several schoolteachers, a machinist, a retail businessman, a librarian, a manufacturer of hunting bows, a dental lab technician, an innkeeper, and a medical technician. The band usually plays with seven members. Four of the original six members have passed away.
