Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Thom Nagy Thom Nagy Thom Nagy spent close to two decades of his life neck-deep in the business of making people dance and writing about it in various publications. Over time, this has given him the status of a locally renowned rave-philosopher. With a deep love for any kind of music that's marvellous, blissful and subtly melancholic or euphoric, his tastes have touched upon all kinds of music imaginable. Heartbrakingly immune to hypes and trends, Thom would much rather see a dancefloor hugging itself into a sunrise, than go shirts-off crazy to the latest peaktime-murder. His own music very much reflects this attitude: while solidly entrenched in a bassheavy foundation, his tracks venture out into dubbed-out space, creating a feel good-void where time stops to matter.

Search Add 2 Erik Frieberg Johan Erik Frieberg Swedish flutist and illustrator, born January 30, 1951. Studies in Finland were interspersed with work in the Lahti City Orchestra and at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. After a semester at the Stockholm Academy of Music, he was employed by the Malmö Concert Hall Foundation in 1977. After a year, he continued his studies in Paris as a French state fellow with Michel Debost (en) and Raymond Guiot (en). When he finished his studies in Paris, he moved to Stockholm, where he engaged in freelance work for eight years until 1991 when he was employed as a flutist in the Royal Court Orchestra at the Royal Opera, where he worked until 2016 when he retired. Frieberg learned to draw autodidact during the years in Paris when he sent postcards home which he sketched himself. Since then, he has continued to draw a number of cartoons that can be seen almost anywhere in opera houses around the world.

Search Add 2 Hiss Sound Hiss Sound is a side-project of Dutch musician Olivier Schreuder, who is also behind the Thai-Dutch collective Apichat Pakwan. On their first album Taraf he collaborates with four Dutch musicians who specialize in North-Indian classic music: Martijn Baaijens, Aura Rascon, Heiko Dijker & Raj Mohan. Longtime-collaborator Robin Koek plays drums on a few tracks, and co-produced the first album. Like Apichat Pakwan the music is at the crossroads of Western, electronic and Asian music, with influences of dub, hiphop and electro. Besides Indian instruments like the sarod, bansuri, sitar & tabla there are also electric and acoustic guitars, bassguitar and drums. In each track they interact in a different way with a wide range of synthesizers and drummachines, like the vintage analog Formanta Polivoks and the 909, to form gritty, bassheavy dancefloor-oriented grooves that move between traditional raga-structures, contemporary electronic music and comprovisations. Mixed World Music from The Netherlands described the music of Hiss Sound as “vintage analog electronics and forceful beats that get pleasantly deranged by traditional Indian rhythms where necessary. The way the bansuri (Indian flute) interacts with percussion and electronics in Mishra Adelita is extraordinarily beautiful. A treat for adventurous ears.”

[a=Ryan DelGaudio] guitar) and Mike Cross (bass) left Psychotic Reaction to form Terrashima along with Mark Ibbotson (vocals) and Andy (drums), the latter of whom left in 2001 to pursue a career in business, and was replaced by Dan Montague. The band were named after the MC5's recording studio, and were inspired by the likes of that band, Jesus Lizard, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth and Scratch Acid. They were famous for the manic and chaotic nature of their live shows. After Terrashima Ryan, Mike and Dan went on to form [a=The Swarm (4)] along with [a=Callum Thompson] (vocals), Olly Toogood (noises & black boxes) and Scott Sandham (visuals and projections).

Search Add 2 Viciouz Viciouz is a modified version of the word vicious. His style in music is just like the meaning of the word: violent, brutal, ruthless... hard and rough kicks combined with mean snares with a big range in BPM - this is what you can expect in his sets. He started his career new years eve 2017/18 with his first public gig at New Year Damage in Hamburg. A first international event followed shortly through an invitation by a befriended DJ which made him present his style in the Netherlands. His first year went pretty good with some decent gigs. He played at well-known events like Day of Destruction, Pokke Herrie, The Raw District and Pumpkin Germany. Since then he was able to present his perception of Industrial Hardcore all over Germany and infect a lot of people with this music. His main goal is not only to satisfy the industrial hardcore die hards but also gather new fans for the darkest and roughest kind of hardcore. It does not matter if it's a small sidefloor or a huge mainstage - Viciouz always delivers high energy sets which convince the crowd regarding the brutality of his music and his mixing skills as well. Through his dedication to Industrial Hardcore and the will to give something more to the scene than just DJing, he also started to produce music. His first release, the collaboration “Prypjat” with his befriended duo Brainrape, was released in summer 2018 on Terror Machine Records. After focusing on his university he is now back producing and will release his first EPs in mid 2020. Since he signed at PH Booking in October 2019, he is a member of this agency which will handle his bookings.

Search Add 2 El Super Mini Combo Nacional El Super Mini Combo Nacional A French combo, but one with a very global groove -- a mix of funky styles and Cuban rhythms, served up with a few contemporary touches as well! The sound here is really unique -- sweetly jazzy one minute, and sharper-edged the next -- moving the groove from keyboard-driven funk to more acoustic numbers that draw on an older Latin heritage, with a bit of a Congolese twist -- all wrapped up with a fresh, enthusiastic sound that really sets the group apart. The percussion's especially nice -- and really gives the album a solid, earthy grounding -- and apart from the first track, which has a bit of a hip hop vibe, most of the numbers here feel like lost grooves from both the Cuban and Congo scene of the 70s. Titles include "Mira Flores", "Baila Mi Songo", "Smcn", "Amor Amor", "Mini Congo", "Ohcimini", and "La Boca Lionel (yoyo) Galletti: Chant lead, congas, percussions, choeurs. Manuel (Totoro) Gablain: Piano, Fender Rhodes, trompette, choeurs.
