Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Jon Krocker | Jon Krocker is from Winnipeg, Canada and got his start as half of the synth noise duo Dialog. In 1981-82, while studying for a BA in Film Studies, he would go to the studio and practice. No writing or patch memories, composing on the fly. His set up consisted of a Minimoog, Oberheim Two Voice, Roland RS-202, Roland Space Echo, EML 400, Roland DR 55, Roland System 100 mixer. After playing some of the songs to Impulse Records store owner Roman Panchyshsyn, he agreed to release the album on cassette on Contagious Records. Primarily influenced by the German school typified by artists such as Conrad Schnitzler and Kraftwerk, Jon's music exhibits the cold machine ethic of the Neumusik.

Search | Add | 2 | Louis A. McCall | Soul - funk drummer - songwriter - producer Born in December 28, 1951 in Alameda, California, Louis A. McCall was the co-founder and drummer of the R&B/funk group Con Funk Shun. The band was formed in 1968 in Vallejo, CA and eventually relocated to Memphis, TN to become studio musicians at Stax Records. In 1976, they were signed to Mercury Records. They released 11 albums which spawned numerous hit records including the Billboard #1 R&B single "Ffun". They received 4 RIAA gold albums for "Secrets" (1977), "Loveshine" (1978), "Candy" (1979"), and "Spirit of Love" (1980). The group disbanded in 1986 after their last album with Mercury, "Burning Love" (1986). Beginning in the early 1990s, Mercury Records, its affiliated labels, and overseas imprints began releasing Con Funk Shun material like "The Best of Con Funk Shun", "The Best of Con Funk Shun, Vol. 2 (1996), "Greatest Hits" (1998), "The Ballads Collection (1998), "The Millennium Collection (2002), "The Collection (2002)", and "The Definitive CD (2006). Songs which Louis performed on have been on the soundtracks of feature films like "Gone In 60 Seconds" and "Next Friday". After Con Funk Shun, McCall went on to become an event producer, putting together a 1992 star-studded benefit for actor/activist Danny Glover at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel. In 1995, he moved to Atlanta, GA with his wife, music business consultant and songwriter Linda Lou McCall. Their company, The Entertainment Qartel, Inc., was instrumental as part of the marketing team for such artists as Eminem, Mya, Black-Eyed Peas, Tupac, Puff Daddy, and Three-6 Mafia, to name a very few. One of Con Funk Shun's ballads, "Honey Wild", written by Louis, Linda Lou and Danny A. Thomas, was sampled by rap superstar Lil Wayne for "Kush" on his hit selling CD "Tha Carter 3" released in June 2008. Louis was murdered on June 25 1997 in Stone Mountain, Georgia, during a home invasion robbery in Stone Mountain, GA. His wife, Linda Lou, fought for a decade to keep the case opened, even going so far as having the governor reopen the case in 2003. Finally, on January 18, 2007, a suspect was indicted and arrested in April 2007. The case finally went to trial in July 2008 in Dekalb County, Georgia. However, when the case went to the jury for deliberation, Judge Gregory Adams declared a mistrial. After consulting with Linda Lou, the prosecutor decided to retry the case until more evidence was uncovered. The case was ultimately dismissed without prejudice.

Search | Add | 2 | Choshech | Choshech - חושך (darkness) is a Tel Aviv-based project that can be described as a mixture of post-punk, depressive rock, and atmospheric black metal. It started in 2016 as a solo project by [a7665495] (formerly of [a1905850] and [a1473947]) to express his ordeals through songs whose lyrics deal with the subjects of inner conflict, depression, and angst. Once the principal material was recorded, Shay approached his friend [a565936] ([a405019], [a4081948], [a4449417]) to help with drum programming and production. In October 2019, the debut album was self-released digitally and as a promo CD-R. It received extremely positive reviews on the local scene. So far, they played three concerts in Tel Aviv and are planning more performances.

Search | Add | 2 | The New Gospel Keys | Clarence Clay and William Scott were blind black street singers who sang gospels accompanied only by one accordion (played by Clarence Clay). American researcher Pete Welding discovered them and produced a complete album featuring these two preaching musicians, which was recorded in 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and two years later they recorded another studio album, "The New Gospel Keys", produced by Kenneth S. Goldstein & Pete Welding. Clay and Scott (both born in the 1920's) had been singing and playing on the streets of Philadelphia for thirteen years by the time they were noticed by Pete Welding. Clarence was mostly a self-taught accordionist and once he had somewhat mastered it, he began a career as a wandering minstrel. In his travels throughout the state of Virginia he encountered William, likewise blind and a singer. The two men decided to join forces, and traveled together performing sacred songs for their livelihoods until 1947, when Scott moved to Philadelphia, where he had relatives living. Clay joined him the following year, and after that the pair plied their art on the sidewalks of the city's business district. Generally, Clarence, who accompanies the singing on the accordion, sings lead. He will start off the vocal line of each song, and then will be joined by William, who enters with the harmony line.
