Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The project came to life at the beginning of 2012 and soon after that the first album "Silence" came out. In the mean time Manos from the legendary Ego-death contacted Rob with the offer for a split album. But very soon after the split the 2nd album "Darkness is nothing" has been released via "RottenCrowz Production". It's limited to 50 handnumbered copies and comes with a sticker.

Search Add 3 The Reg Coates Experience The Reg Coates Experience from Manchester, UK, became known after the Reg Coates Combo split in the early 70s for a short period. The combo often contained one or more of Reg's brothers. The new band only contained the best available musicians. Two long standing lead guitarists were Dave Dunne from Wythenshawe and Harry Barber (who sadly died a few years ago) from New Mills. Bass players and drummers came and went regularly due to Reg's high level of ability and low tolerence of alcohol problems but these 2 guys were around for many years. Jason Coates, Reg's son, joined the band for 5 years as a bass player from 86 to 91 and now lives in Portugal.

Search Add 3 Everett Shock As the 80's progressed, [a=name (6)] only played sporadically and by the mid 80's they had more or less disbanded. Everett Shock was planning to leave the Bay Area and Henry Kaiser asked Shock to record unused material from the past few years before moving away to document the work and compositions of the past few years. For reasons not entirely clear, the record was released under Shock's name rather than [a=name (6)]. Wold described the album as a "love gift" to Shock. The album was mainly recorded in a home studio in southern California. All members of Name except Statham performed on the album. Everett Shock is now a professor at Arizona State University.

Search Add 3 El Gaitero de Libardón Ramón García Tuero Arroes (Asturias), June 6, 1864-Libardón (Asturias), October 21, 1932. Singer, musician and composer. Of humble rural origin, as a child showed considerable musical skills. Fame came soon, thanks to singing with a booming voice and, simultaneously, accompanied in a virtuous way with the bagpipe or the harmonium, getting to compose a repertoire of its own that is part of the musical heritage of Asturias and other territories. Thanks to that artistic multiplicity and its charismatic character, popular esteem was easily gained and, later, the poster of renowned artistic spaces. Dignified and made known outside Spain traditional Asturian music, as a pioneer in transcending beyond its borders through tours, recordings or radio performances at the dawn of the twentieth century. In 1889 an industrial firm took him to the Universal Exposition in Paris, on his first trip abroad, which gave him an important boost. The following year, he settled for marriage in the town of Libardón, from where the artistic name comes with which he passed to posterity. In 1900 he traveled again to Paris led by a brand of Asturian cider, to participate in the Universal Exhibition whose symbol was the Eiffel Tower. The success there obtained that the jury of the contest granted him the Medal of Merit, one of the many awards that he would receive in his career, as the one later imposed by King Alfonso XIII. In turn, the piper composed a song for the Prince of Asturias and was also received in audience by Queen Mother Maria Cristina and General Primo de Rivera. Its artistic apogee covered the first three decades of the twentieth century, with performances throughout the national territory that announced the "laureate and famous piper", according to the programs of the time. Later, he began his journey abroad, sponsored by the thriving Asturian industry of accordion cider and later on tournees on his own. In Europe he traveled through Italy, France, Germany and England and, in 1907, he arrived for the first time in America, where, until 1918 and in several trips from Spain, he traveled from the south of the United States to Argentina. In Cuba he coincided with Enrico Caruso (1873-1921), perceiving the same cachet as the famous Neapolitan tenor. In 1911 he attended the International Exhibition of Buenos Aires. He signed an international contract there with a New York firm to make recordings, an activity that began in 1909 in Spain, and that continued in successive years for several phonographic brands in Spanish and European studios. After attending the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929, his last sounded appearance was made that same year at the Ibero-American Exposition in Seville, shortly before his death that had great public repercussion. Since then, tributes are regularly held in his memory. Thus, in 2001, he was designated as one of the "20 Asturians of the 20th Century" in a popular contest organized through the Internet by the newspaper El Comercio in Gijón .

Search Add 3 Damn The Maps The name, Damn the Maps, was derived from a philosophy shared by all three band members, that people should follow their own maps, their hearts, and not follow what society says is necessary to be accepted. Regardless of race, creed, political influence etc, the band believes that all people should be true to themselves and not true to the social map. And so the name was established. Singer/Songwriter/Bass Player Martin Green moved to Melbourne from Auckland, New Zealand, following shows there with a ‘kiwi’ line-up, including supports for some of New Zealand’s top bands including The Datsuns, Head Like A Hole, Stellar* and Tadpole. Upon his arrival in Australia in March 2003, Martin joined with Australians, Nicholas Riley (Guitar) and Mark Coats (Drums), to establish a new Damn the Maps’ line-up. Damn the Maps supported Evermore in Melbourne in September 2004 and again in the Victorian towns of Mildura, Belgrave and Mornington in April 2005 during the Evermore national tour. Many Victorian live shows ensued including festivals such as The Apollo Bay Music Festival, Need for Feed Festival, Venus Bay Festival, and the Maitreya Festival. The band’s two EP’s which were released in 2005 and 2006 respectively, received radio play in NZ, on Auckland stations BFM and The Rock, Hamilton’s The Generator, and in Australia, on stations such as Triple J, Triple R, and PBS. Television appearances have included TVNZ’s Good Morning New Zealand. Now as 2008 takes hold, the band has penned their debut album, much to the delight of an ever-increasing fanbase. ‘Input Output’ is released on VENT/Amphead and is also available digitally through Orchard worldwide, from 26 April 2008. The album is a showcase of the band’s diversity and of Martin Green’s obvious skill as a songwriter. The album ebbs and flows across the rock/pop genre with hints of influences such as Muse, Coldplay and Radiohead. Band Members: Martin 'The Moustache' Green (vocals, bass) Nick 'Not Entirely' Riley (guitar, vocals) Huw 'Mad Dog' Elias (drums) - SOURCE: music.net.nz
