Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Sounds Of Triumph Sounds of Triumph was a Jesus-rock radio program hosted and produced by Gord Driver in Toronto, Ontario. Sounds of Triumph was a non-profit organization that produced Christian concerts and radio programs, one of which was produced for Toronto Teen Challenge. Offices and studios were located in the now demolished Evangelistic Centre at Yonge and York Mills in Toronto; the same Pentecostal Holiness Church that hosted a concert for Mark Heard. The radio show aired on WDCX 99.5 FM an American radio station broadcasting from Buffalo, New York. Center Sound Productions was the predecessor to Sounds of Triumph. Sounds of Triumph was also a newspaper published as an adjunct to Gord Driver's Jesus-rock radio program. Sounds of Triumph was set up as a non-profit organization that produced Christian concerts and radio programs, one of which was produced for Toronto Teen Challenge. Offices and studios were located in the now demolished Evangelistic Centre at Yonge and York Mills in Toronto In January, 1980, Daniel Amos and Randy Stonehill wrapped up part of the Amos n'Randy Tour in a Toronto concert, sponsored by Sounds of Triumph. The event captured the attention of the local press and two television stations ("The New Music" a MuchMusic production and unknown) have produced features on Contemporary Christian music. At the end of the concert, StreetLevel's Phil Mangano arrived with Larry Norman in tow, and Larry was coaxed on stage for a song with the band.(Source: CCM Magazine January 1980 and danielamos.com)

Search Add 2 Erik Sampson Erik makes bamboo flutes for 50 years, harvesting different kinds of bamboo in the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, Brazil, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Fiji, where he got to play for their President. Erik decided to settle in Florida due to the great flute making bamboo called Bambusa Multiplex that grew in southern China and settled into Japan for centuries. It arrived by steam ship from Yokohama to San Francisco and came by train to Florida in the mid 1880's, settling into the sub-tropical gardens of pioneer horticulturalists and then into the earliest plant nurseries which spread the bamboo around Florida. Finding old clumps of bamboo to make flutes has been Erik’s joy and treasure, but it all began with a wooden flute made in India...

Search Add 2 Vonhorn Vonhorn was formed by Adam Daffurn (formally of Dandelion Killers & God Save The King) and Dominic Luckman, (Cardiacs, Shrubbies, Flinch) with St. John Milinczuk (Troy Redfern, Will Killeen) completing the line up in the summer of 2017. Stuttering through scratchy riffs, flitting from mellotron infused soundscapes and rousing cinematic choruses, to angular, abrasive pop hooks, Vonhorn's melting-pot of sounds can be likened to that of Bowie, XTC and Fantomas, as well as echoes of their past bands. The group made their live debut in September 2017, at the Worcester Music Festival and are currently recording the first album, scheduled for release early in 2018.

Search Add 2 Stephen Sandlin Stephen Sandlin has been making music and performing around Texas, since the early 90s. Originally from Houston, he spent time in New York City, New Jersey and North Carolina before settling back in Houston to make music, art prints, and video projects. Attempting to bring humor and energy, to both the stage and his recordings. With a collection of solo works, music written with his band Haywood, as well as collaborations with Brandon Elam of The Literary Greats. There's plenty to enjoy. 2021’s Contra Festival Monterey Crock-pot is his first solo release, since the slow down of his band, Haywood. Haywood was formed in 1996, when Texas A&M students, Stephen Sandlin and Brandon Elam, collaborated on writing a few songs. Fellow students Kris Arnold, Craig Hoenes, and Chris Huntley joined in, and the Haywood lineup was set. A local band drawing more than a thousand people at a show was unheard of in College Station, TX, but this band did it regularly. Often compared to Guster, Ben Folds, Barenaked Ladies, and Fountains of Wayne, the band’s 1997 release of Flat Tires was the year's most notable, local album. Two songs entered rotation on regional radio. In concert, however, is where the band built a rabid following. The band's remarkable connection with its audiences helped to mold the packed houses into a collective pogo stick, with bouncing and cheering coming from all corners of the venues. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Haywood scored highly prized opening gigs for the likes of David Garza, Bob Schneider’s Ugly Americans, Vertical Horizon, Sister 7 and Chris Duarte. Haywood kicked off, and then headlined, several local music festivals. They went on to release two more full length albums, Tune in the Sun and Shake It, and a 5 song EP The Hartford Complex. Haywood’s true appeal lies in infectiously fun songs and an unprecedented amount of local success. With band members spread between Houston, New York City, and Dallas, shows became less frequent. A set of reunion shows was put together in 2012. New shows are planned for 2021.
