Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Ultras S/C The band was formed in 2011 by [a=Jemina Pearl], [a=Ben Swank] and [a=Chet Weise]. Featuring members (and all the best parts) of Be Your Own Pet, Soledad Brothers and Immortal Lee County Killers rolled together for a blasting punk screed the likes of which haven't been heard round here since Pussy Galore's "Feel Good About Your Body" EP. Shit was distorted, in the red, raw and couldn't be more perfect....rock and roll the way it was meant to be. The group released two singles before calling it a day.

Search Add 2 Mark Room Mark Room has already begun with nine years to realize his love for music in the local marching band. Several times he wins the title „German Champion" with this club. But only to play the marsh drum was not enough – he deals increasingly with music theory. His own computer becomes like a small studio and the first sounds were arranged digitally. Furthermore he starts to play music in clubs, discotheques and on events. It is his special sound combination which makes the audible difference to other artists. In collaboration with a local studio the first release generated in the end of 2002. Promptly the track stays in various charts on top positions for several weeks. Exclusive Remixes for own use grade up Mark Room’s DJ sets and makes him ready for the international stage.

Search Add 2 Los Subversivos The band was formed in 1989 in Del Viso, Pilar Party. After a couple of months of rehearsal, they played at their first time in San Telmo, sharing the stage with 2 Minutos, Superuva, Mal Momento, Fun People, Olor a pata ,Contrabando, and more friendly bands. After a time of change of members, Los Subversivos continue to play stage with several bands all parts of the country including outside as M.C.D and Soziedad Alkoholika of the Basque countrie and Los Crudos of the United States. Recording his first independent album in 1995 Flamearé mi bandera and a second album in 1999 Resignarse es morir, a live album in Forrest, Santiago del Estero. Flamearé mi bander was published in Spain and based on that they recorded a vinyl with Urban DK (United States band) that was published in the United States, France and Spain. Apart from having participated in several compilations. At 16, after seeing Sumo and Todos Tus Muertos live, Kike knew he wanted to have his own group. "The savagery, and the original sound of those bands, and being able to enjoy them live, marked me." This is how Kike Andrada remembers what he felt in the late eighties. With their companions from school of Del Viso, Buenos Aires, they had the habit of going to recitals in the Parakultural. At that time he also meets "Koko" Quintana, thanks to a mutual friend. "I had been skateboarding, and I was already listening to Suicidal Tendencies, Exploited, a couple of bands here," Koko recalls. There was Todos Tus Muertos, the first album had just come out. Kike made me listen. And at the same time we began to share everything that was music, until one day he made me the proposal to put together a band. Obviously, I was excited to start, and we began to see what we were going to do. Like any band that starts, out there influenced by the bands of the moment that one was listening. ” At first they joined together two to compose with an accoustic guitar, but then they looked for the missing members. Before starting with this project, both had already assembled the "Social Pop" fanzine, from which 3 numbers came out. The band's first line-up was composed by Leonardo "Koko" Quintana in voice, Jorge Antonio "Kike" Andrada on guitar, Betty López on bass (girlfriend at the time, and then Kike's wife), and Mario "El Flaco" Menesunda on drums (who later participated in addition to the thrash Estirpe group). The name they chose for the band was "Los Subversivos", in homage to the 30,000 missing. The debut show was at MacArthur, in 1989. "At that time, if they liked the band, it was a club. If they did not like the band, they would kick you out from stage, or not give to you any atention at all" Koko explains. "Then when we did the first gig the place exploded. Pogo was armed with all the old people of that time, who was easy to get in trouble" <laughs>. There the ice broke. " By that time the line up had changed: El Flaco Mario went from drums to bass, and on the drums was a boy from Belgrano (Buenos Aires) named Federico.

Search Add 2 Fielding Dawson Fielding Dawson (August 2, 1930 – January 5, 2002) was a Beat-era author of short stories and novels, and a student at Black Mountain College. He was also a painter and collagist whose works were seen in several books of poetry and many literary magazines. Born in New York City, Dawson was known for his stream-of-consciousness style. Much of his work was lax in punctuation to emphasize the immediacy of thought. Additionally, dialogue would often be used to break this up. His lack of deference toward tradition in writing, other than that of the necessity to evoke humanity, often painfully raw, is what puts him in the category of many of his better-known contemporaries, such as Jack Kerouac or Allen Ginsberg. Dawson was still writing up until his unexpected death in January 2002. He had become a teacher, first in prisons like Sing Sing, at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, where he taught regularly, and continuing on to work with at-risk students at Upward Bound High School in Hartwick, New York. He was recently called "The Best St. Louis Writer You've Never Read" by David Clewell, a professor of history at Webster University.

Search Add 2 Apollo Slice Irie Electric and Brett Knacksen Apollo Slice is a Berlin based duo, founded in summer of 2008 by Irie Electric and Brett Knacksen. Their sound can be described as mixture of Minimal Techno and Microhouse, very rhythmic and with carefully selected deep and atmospheric sounds, which makes their music easily recognisable. Both of them are performing as Djs since 2002 and are very active on the German scene and wider, while Irie also holds a residency in well known Berlin club Tresor. Their live DJ performances also feature tighter sounds, but just as with their releases they do no compromises, and you can easily get drowned in their hypnotic sound, obviously inspired by numerous never ending parties across Berlin.

Search Add 2 Laconic Chamber Laconic Chamber, as the name might indicate, plays music that is a mixture of chamber music and post-rock. Built around the songs and vocals of Dorothy Geller, their sound is somewhat similar to that of Mazzy Star in how its sluggish tempos, drones, and whispery female vocals build a sense of depressing yet seductive torpor. Laconic Chamber differs from Mazzy Star, however, in that they don't feature quasi-psychedelic guitar distortion in their arrangements, instead building their arrangements around more classical-chamber-influenced components. The violin of James Wolf is featured prominently, although they're still a rock band with an electric guitar and rhythm section. Like Mazzy Star and some slowcore or sadcore bands, the languorous drone, dark obtuse melodies, vague half-obscured lyrics, and overall sense of foreboding adds up to an atmosphere suitable for brooding or, more bluntly, nodding off to. After contributing a track ("Ink-Blots") to a 7" compilation on the local Washington, D.C., indie Nightshade, they put out their first album, A History of Epidemics, on the Australian Camera Obscura label in 2000.
