Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Evil Genius Soundsystem The group consists of Henning, Jaystar, Jeejaa and City Lights, four producers who have all made their mark on the Dutch Hip-Hop scene over the past few years. Beatmaker Henning (1987) released his instrumental EP “Dejima” and has worked with Dutch rappers Sticks and Akwasi. Jeejaa (1984) provided the Dutch Hip-Hop group Front Porch Poets, among others, with his warm and soulful sound. Producer Jaystar (1983) released several well-received beattapes, such as “Dust: Instrumentals & Loops Volume 1” in 2008 and “Silverscream Instrumentals” in 2011. The youngest member of Evil Genius Soundsystem, City Lights (1992), released his album “Winter All Year” in the summer of 2011. The four have known each other for years, and share a mutual respect for each other’s music. Therefore, it wasn’t farfetched that the four would join forces to release their first collective album “Volume 1” in 2012, under the moniker of Evil Genius Soundsystem. In 2013 they strike again with their second album “Volume 2”.

In addition, he completed advanced courses for opera singers at La Scala in Milan between 1972 and 1974, with maestro Ettore Campogagliani and Enza Ferrari. In all the cities and countries in which he has been, already mentioned before, Blas Martínez has been able to display the richness of timbre and the power of his vocal skills, which are characterized by great versatility. This diversity of registers has allowed him to play roles in such diverse works as Manon Lescaut, La Traviatta, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Nabucco, Tosca, Mozart's Requiem, etc. Although he has also excelled as an interpreter of popular operettas and operettas and of the repertoire of lyric composers such as Paolo Tosti. He is a specialist in popular Venezuelan music and his classics, about which he has researched profusely. He has shared the stage with people like María Chiara or Franco Bordoni, and the baton of directors like Zubin Mehta or Riccardo Muti has been down.

Search Add 2 Gone Hepsville These six boys from the city of Brno (Czech republic) have been rockin' together for more than a decade in a rock'n'roll revival band The Fireballs (CZ), learning the ins and outs of the genre from the masters like Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, The Treniers, Jimmy Cavello, Freddie Bell or The Big Six. After 10 years, they decided it was time to move into somewhat more demanding territory and formed a pure & authentic jiving combo called GONE HEPSVILLE. They write their own songs, they arrange them in a ways that make them totally irresistible, but, most importantly, these cats are here to get you jumpin' on the dance floor like crazy for the next 10 years at least. So you better get going, because everyone else has already gone. GONE HEPSVILLE. The Hepsvillians are: Petr Pospíšil (bass), Pavel Štursa (guitar), Petr Janovský (tenor sax), Pavel Zlámal (baritone sax), Matěj Fouma (piano), Viktor Martinkovič (drums).

He was also a highland drummer and played for many years in the Cape Breton Highlanders Regiment. As an adult, he moved to Sydney, and still remained involved with Cape Breton music. Each week he played with a group called “The Lumberjacks” on CJCB-TV. He also performed with Winston Fitzgerald on the “Cape Breton Ceilidh” television program. He released two albums under the Celtic Records label under the name of “Scotty” LeBlanc. Paddy performed as far away as Scotland, and his performance was aired on BBC. Paddy Leblanc passed away in February of 1974.

Search Add 2 Brianne Curran is an improvising violinist from Sydney, Australia currently living in Berlin (since 2015). Having played the instrument since the age of 3, she has a background in numerous musical fields but her focus is on improvised music and its tangeants. Relationship between artist, environment and audience is of major interest in her approach to music making and its developments. Also of interest is how to break the box of ‘the violinist’. From 2004 she lived in the ACT and then the Blue Mountains in NSW. During this time she focused herself out in the Australian bush often in isolation, exploring ways to express and connect with the surrounding landscape, the moment, and space through music. She returned to her home town to complete her Bachelor Degree in Music (performance) as a scholarship holder in 2008 (ANU/AIM). Back in Sydney, Brianne got in touch with projects such as the Splinter Orchestra and the Nownow festival, initiatives founded by double bassist Clayton Thomas. For 6 years she was band leader and manager of world/jazz quintet Takadimi founded in 2009. The band toured extensively throughout NSW and the East Coast of Australia, and released their debut album New Common Sense through MGM in 2011. The group gained widespread recognition throughout Australia via the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and numerous other radio stations and press around the country, such as national newspaper The Australian. Brianne’s teachers have been Mr Yasuki Nakamura, Janet Davies, Jane Brownlee, Chris Duncan, Shi Yuan Jur, Shaykh Ibrahim Al Ansari, Adrian Keating, and Greg Coffin. Within Australia, she has performed at numerous festivals including the Melbourne International Jazz Festival (VIC), National Folk Festival Australia (ACT), Woodford Folk Festival (QLD), Illawarra Folk Festival (TAS), Cygnet Folk Festival (TAS), Peak Festival (NSW snowfields), and most recently with musicians such as Clayton Thomas, Mary Rapp, and also Alex Nowitz and Sophia Brous at the Nownow Festival in Sydney (NSW) last year. Being only a newcomer on the Europe scene, she has already toured numerous times through Poland and Germany (Berlin, Leipzig). Currently she performs regularly with the Krakow Improvisers Orchestra, and also with numerous musicians in different combinations in the Berlin improvised scene.

Search Add 2 Kerri Wells Suzanne Rhatigan Irish singer/songwriter, pianist, guitarist, and vocalist Suzanne Rhatigan was raised in Dublin, but moved to London in the early '80s, where she began to do session vocal work for record producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman. After teaching herself piano and beginning to compose her own songs, Rhatigan attracted a manager and a publisher, and continued to try to pin down a record deal through the late '80s; when a friend played her tape for executives at Imago, her career was launched. Rhatigan chose Fred Maher to produce To Hell with Love, her bluesy 1992 debut that included guest appearances from the likes of keyboardist Bernie Worrell and singer/songwriter Matthew Sweet (who played bass). However, Imago folded shortly after the album's release, and her career stalled. Four years later, Rhatigan resurfaced with the LP Late Developer. In 1998 she released the EP Big Stick on her own Cushy Productions imprint.
