Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

They fall neither in a bracket of accomplishment nor failure; they simply rely on their ability to deconstruct contemporary music, reinterpreting the pieces into loosely cohesive structures. At a young age Azim got into music through listening to the early releases of [a=Michael Jackson]. Eventually he pursued an interest into hip-hop and gained notoriety around his neighborhood for his rhymes. Around 1987/88 Azim hooked up with local Dallas DJ [a=The Snake (2)] and joined part of the rap group [a=Nemesis (3)]. As a member, Azim quickly became the group's leading emcee (along with [a=Big Al (9)]). While the group parlayed with laid back party rhymes, it was Azim that contributed many of themes of spirituality (as a Muslim) and social consciousness. However Azim departed shortly after the release of [r=845762] as the group was drifting more in the direction of gangsta posturing and booty bass music. After Azim released a solo project a few years later he traded a career as a recording artist for a more lucrative position. After working as an industy insider for several years Mr. Rashid landed himself a job as [l=MCA Records Inc.]'s director of R&B promotion. In 2000 he was promoted to senior national director of the same department, overseeing the label's radio promotions and supervision of staff. More recently Azim joined the New Jersey-based Ultimate Media Group, a R&B/hip-hop marketing, management, and promotions firm, as their CEO. |

Search | Add | 3 | Albert Skira | Swiss publisher, pioneering books designer and founder of the eponymous printing house (10 August 1904, Geneva —14 September 1973, Dully). Albert Skira is widely renowned for de-facto inventing contemporary "coffee table" art books in the 1930s by reviving the antique des Quart format and setting new quality standards in full-color printing. He also published an iconic art and literary review French magazine, Minotaure (1933–39), which featured some of the most influential surrealists, writers and philosophers of the era, including [a945713], [a=Marcel Duchamp], [a826508], and [a8888548]. In 1928, after working as a bookseller for several years, Skira established Editions d'Art Albert Skira in Lausanne, aiming to publish classic and modern literature illustrated by leading contemporary artists. In 1931, Albert Skira moved the operations to his hometown, Geneva. Over the next few years, he produced a critically-acclaimed series of "definitive," deluxe editions: [a=Ovid]'s Les Métamorphoses (1931) with 30 original engravings by [a=Pablo Picasso], Poésies ('32) by [a811967] with 29 etchings by [a=Henri Matisse], and [a959502]'s Les Chants de Maldoror ('34) decorated by [a195296]. Skira spent most of the 1930s in Paris, where he published a renowned Minotaure art magazine. Albert returned to Geneva in 1941 and continued running Skira Editore throughout World War II, with some of the highlights including [a534911]'s Florilège des Amours (1941–'48) in collaboration with Matisse, Pantagruel (1943) by [a750556], or [a=Jean-Paul Sartre]'s Nourritures ('49) illustrated by Wols. In the 1950s and 60s, his perfectionism turned [l609420] into one of the world's leading publishing houses for art books with full-color illustrations. Skira had international customers, such as book publishers and several record labels: RCA Victor's deluxe [l=Soria Series], [l232007] and Swedish [l1087733]. In his final years, Albert Skira worked on several ambitious, comprehensive compendiums of fine arts, including The Great Centuries of Painting (1950–59) in 14 volumes, eight-part Treasures of the World (1962–70) and a few others.

Search | Add | 3 | Rock Train Band | The group was founded in 1979 and right from the first moments is characterized by brave musical choices, trying to combine the live impact from rock band to the desire for Italian music, preferring to write original songs and texts in Italian instead of focusing on foreign covers. This address allows him to form a more precise musical personality that arouses interest among the insiders. Thanks to the work behind the scenes by Massimo "Gippo" Poggini producer, writer (Una Vita Spericolata, beautiful biography of Vasco Rossi) and journalist (Ciao 2001, Corriere della Sera-Boy Music, Max) the band immediately publishes a 45 laps (Buon Compleanno / Sulla Strada - Belgravia records) and begins to be known throughout Italy. The album allows the band to participate in numerous shows, radio and television programs, catwalks and live concerts throughout Italy, obtaining flattering reviews in the press and a good public and sales success. Among other events, the group participates in the Rock Festival organized in Rome by Ciao 2001 magazine, wins the II Rock Festival in Milan, obtains the special jury prize at the 13th National Paroliere Prize and participates together with the big Italians of the moment at the evening finale of the Disco Boy kermesse, an alternative of the time at the Festivalbar, organized by the Corriere della Sera music weekly. The publication of an LP (Chiavari, Milano, Londra) and a new 45 (Va Bene Così / Rita) conclude this first exciting period, during which there were no extraordinary collaborations with internationally renowned artists such as Riccardo Zappa, Bob Callero, Aldo De Scalzi. There are a few years of rethinking during which life, with its mix of family, work and duties, was changing the table to everyone. But the call of music soon returns to be felt and the locomotive starts again at full steam. With an extended training and with the collaboration of Marco Raffo (producer, multi-instrumentalist and long-time friend) the group puts on a big breath set, resumes the live activity and starts working on a great quantity of new songs. The result is the album "Non Saranno Restituiti I Soldi" that sees the light in 1994: rock, electronic, funky, Italian music, all seasoned with a good dose of fun and disengagement. The album is struggling to get out of the region, but in Tigullio there are very few who have not had it at home or heard at least once. .. After a new intense period of live activity in Liguria and Piedmont and attempts to produce a new record, new changes in training and repertoire, the train again ran the risk of stopping. A new turning point was needed! Robi Amadori leaves the band, and to the "founding partners" Alberto "Guizzo" Guizzetti and Pino Solari are flanked by Marco Morelli on bass (Senso Unico) and Stefano Giacometti on guitar (Smalltown). Also important return is that of Marco Raffo who replaces Roberto at the drums and resumes the production work together with Pino and Guizzo The saxophonist Hector Biscuso (Soundflowers) and the pianist Luca Scherani, a pupil of Franco Ponzano and the motor of numerous Genoese initiatives (Buoni Konsigli, Periplo), collaborate occasionally with the band. The newcomers bring freshness and new energy to a project that if not in itself solid would not have survived all these years. A new repertoire very "american rock" with many covers, new songs Rock Train Band on the same wavelength, an aggressive and hot lineup, a groove never dormant, a sound and a very vintage impact are the main features of the new set of band.

They became fast friends and have been working together on projects ever since. Mpumi and Tshepang (guitar and drums respectively) contributed to João's 2009 album, Hands & Feet, and would often join him on stage, adding thunderous beats and general bigness to the otherwise textural and floating soundscapes. Slowly they started becoming a band.

Search | Add | 3 | WhiteFlag Project | An appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival is usually a special moment in the life of any band. But when you are a group of musicians from Israel and the Palestinian territories who haven’t seen, let alone played with each other for five years then it takes on an even deeper significance. White Flag, a mix of five Israelis and four Palestinians, are a "band in exile". After forming in 1999 they played around 20 gigs in Israel before the outbreak of the second intifada the following year scattered members to the four winds. A couple ended up in the United States, one came to Switzerland, while two others were trapped in the Gaza Strip. But five years on, thanks to the dogged persistence of a Swiss television editor and the pulling of several diplomatic strings, the band have reunited in Switzerland. "This is our first meeting in five years, since the start of the second intifada," band member Zaher Abdu Aljawad told swissinfo. "I never thought we would meet again – and when we did it was magical, like a dream." The band arrived in Lucerne at the beginning of May following an invitation from the city’s mayor Urs Studer, and this week they played two nights at Montreux. During their stay in Switzerland they have recorded their first CD, entitled: White Flag – a Band in Exile. But the whole project, which has been financed by the city of Lucerne plus various Swiss and international foundations, has not been without its problems. "It was really difficult getting them together for two reasons," said Urban Frye, who works as an editor and producer in the music department at Swiss-German television. "The first is that every time you mention the word 'Palestinian’, people are immediately suspicious about giving a visa. In the end I rang the mayor of Lucerne, who is an old friend, and he came up with the idea of inviting the whole band which opened a lot of doors. "The second is that two of the musicians come from the Gaza Strip and they were afraid of what might happen to their families once it got out that they were being paid to travel to Switzerland to play with Israeli musicians. I had to put pressure on the Swiss mission in Ramallah to contact the Palestinian minister for culture to get official approval." The politics of the Middle East are never far away from the band. When swissinfo turned up in Montreux, percussionist Katja Cooper and vocalist Yasin Almallahi were discussing Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza, which is scheduled to take place next month. There has even been talk that the band and their Middle East street-fusion sound could become a musical face for the peace process – an example of Israelis and Palestinians living and playing together side by side. Switzerland, which helped to launch an unofficial peace accord for the Middle East known as the Geneva Initiative in December 2003, has been providing "logistical and organisational support" for the band. But Ivo Sieber, a spokesman for the Swiss foreign ministry, insisted that it was up to Israeli and Palestinian partners to decide whether White Flag could play a role in promoting the accord. While the band go to great pains to stress that they are first and foremost a group of artists who just want to play music, they are fully aware of the growing interest from outside parties. "As long as we can play the music the way we want to play it and don’t have to shout politics, it would be nice to represent the Palestinians and the Israelis," said Cooper, who now lives in San Francisco. "We’re an example of what’s possible – that your nationality and ethnic background don’t matter. There are so many things that people have in common and it’s just getting distorted by politics and who owns what land. The world doesn’t have to be that complicated." The ultimate goal of the band is to be able to play together once again in Israel and if possible in the Palestinian territories. Frye believes the main obstacle to this lies with the Israeli Defence Force, which would have to authorise the Israeli musicians to enter the occupied territories and the Palestinians to travel in the opposite direction. Yasin, who left his newborn baby in Gaza to come to Switzerland, is undaunted. He subscribes to the view that "where there’s a will, there’s a way". "Peace has to come from both sides – Israeli and Palestinian – and there has to be will and understanding on both sides," he said. "If we succeed with our CD and our music and get a little more famous then it could become easier for us to travel around. There are people in the occupied territories and Israel who think what we’re doing is a good thing. "We are just musicians and we should be able to play anywhere. We shouldn’t be in exile." Search | Add | 3 | Mynis | Matty G. - Drums Jason B. - Bass Guitar Rob G. - Guitar Thomas V. - Vocals/Percussion Mynis is a four piece progressive hard rock band formed in 1998 in the central California city of Fresno. Mynis is made up of Matty Gonzales on Drums, Robert Gonzalez on Guitar, Jason Benham on bass, and Tom Vlahavas on vocals/percussion. Mynis, whose style goes beyond any genre, has developed many loyal and devoted fans all over the country. They have survived many scenes and shared the stage with many diverse and different styles of music from heavy metal, to hardcore, to punk and anything else you can imagine. Hitting early gigs on Warped Tour 2000, 2001 and also playing many big local events sponsored by Fresno radio stations such as New Rock 104 and 103.7 KRZR led them to great success early on. This success helped launch them into a very productive and eventful career which continues on today. Since their formation in the late 90's they have shared the stage with such acts as Weezer, 311, Alien Ant Farm, Zebra Head, Pennywise and many, many more. Playing with such acts and doing extensive touring throughout California helped them catch the ear of high profile producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (known for her work with Tool, System Of A Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince). They recorded their first full length album during the winter of 2003 with Sylvia and release it through independent label 5k records. This album helped launch them into full west coast touring and nation wide recognition. Their single "Bye Tomorrow" entered heavy rotation on local channel 103.7 KRZR and many other stations across the country in Texas, Ohio, New York, Nevada and Arizona, just to mention a few. Mynis, whose live show has left many stunned, keep hard at work writing and recording and are ready to dive into the next level of their career. With positive attitudes and a drive that won't quit, Mynis continues to tour and catch the ear of many. Their willingness to succeed is only superseded by their unmatched original sound. The Mynis website still receives hundreds of hits daily. After selling more then 20,000 records with little promotion other than touring, some radio exposure and word of mouth alone, the band continues to thrive and grow in popularity. Give them a listen! You won't be disappointed. Go see a live show and you will never be the same! Let’s bring it!

Search | Add | 3 | Adaptive Unconscious | Travis Holtzclaw | The adaptive unconscious is the phenomenon of your unconscious mind making a decision that could drastically change your life in a matter of a second. For instance, you are driving on the freeway, & you feel the urge to switch lanes but not for any particular reason. All of a sudden the car that was in front of you prior, crashes & causes a pile up. Had you stayed in that lane, your life could have come to an end. It’s the unknown desire to do something, & not knowing why. It’s almost a psychic pull from deep within us, that we all have, or will experience. I’ve been writing since 2006, I started out using nothing but presets, a cheap mic, & no idea what I was doing. To this day, I still have no idea what I’m doing. I have gone through quite the list of names for myself such as “Fall Of Icarus, Ouroboros, Prophet Six, & Echo Lost Stasis” to name a few. I held on to “Prophet Six” for years as merely a placeholder. The Prophet 6000 was a synthesizer in the 80’s that could play 6 sounds at once. I got attached to “Adaptive Unconscious” because it spoke to me, not just because of the meaning, but because of my music, it’s almost asleep, as it is alive, which is what I take from these two words. I record in my closet using yet another cheap mic, and some reference speakers and a good amount of plug-ins, other than that I am basically doing it all the hard way. Everything is input with a mouse, I don’t play anything live. So if you are hearing a piano playing, that could have taken days to do, because I have to arrange each note one by one, and try to get it to sound authentic. I also have a knack for making my own samples & mucking up the sound digitally somehow. I'll take everyday items and make them into something much more. For instance, a spoon in a glass, or dragging my nails down a guitar string. If you are taking the time to listen, please know that I appreciate the time you take, & all I ask is to keep your mind open with it. This has always been about longing to connect with the listener, to find understanding in a stranger by letting them tap into my personal self, or perhaps tap into theirs, with no means of being invasive. If any of the trials I have had to face could possibly help someone through theirs, then it was never for nothing. The more I progress in life, & music the more I learn and grow...so it's all a great path, & one I am happy to share. |

“A veces me dicen esa voz yo la he escuchado. |

Paul Dreyfuss sings the flip side alone. Paul Dreyfuss was managed by Johnny Nash 1965-1966 and recorded on Joda but nothing was released. His only release was this record which was written by Johnny Cymbal. After it was released Paul put a group together (Joe Nesor, bass and Jimmy Fracassi, lead guitar, unknown drummer). Johnny Cymbal did not appear with the group although he wrote Carol Cartoon and named the group The Eye-Full Tower. The difference between J. Cymbal's voice and P. Dreyfuss's is very noticeable. The vocals were recorded 3/7/1967 in Bell Sound Studio. The original record has the group called Dreyfus & Company on the label but the deal was made using the name The Eye-Full Tower. It was released on SSS International in the U.S. and on Polydor in the U.K. |
