Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Burnt Fur | Burnt Fur (2003-2010) was an electronic band from Boston, MA comprised of Scott Harrison (vocals, guitar, songwriter, producer), Shana Simpkins (vocals, drum pads), Patrik Tirda (samples and keyboards) and Ian St. Germain (bass, drum pads). The band surfaced in response to the wave of artists revisiting the sounds of '80's new wave, intending to perform as a full band rather than standing by a cluster of electronics that could do most of the work. Each member would perform with a primary instrument, but they were known to swap instruments often depending on what suited their songs. Although heavily influenced by new wave, Harrison and St. Germain had previously been in a band called Tracy Husky that sounded much more like the gauzy, feedback and distortion sound of Sonic Youth than the dance driven sound of New Order. They wanted to blend these ideas together, creating an organic yet sonic sound coupled with bright, precise electronics. Tirda would manipulate sampled sounds from the golden age of arcade games to blend in and out of Harrison's swirling, effect driven guitars. Having four members ensured that there was always someone performing on the stand up drum pad kit, which would further differentiate the band from the majority of electronic acts that did not have live percussion. Gathering together the songs they had created from 2003-2006 the band recorded two singles to release while they continued to perform locally and complete their debut album. "Vitriol," the first single released the summer of 2007, was chosen to contrast heavily against what the band perceived as weak electronic acts in the aftermath of the electroclash scene that had occurred earlier in the decade. The band decided to release cover songs for b-side material, New Order's "Ultraviolence," and The Human League's "Seconds," again for contrast and to show solidarity with the selections. The single received mixed reviews but connected the band with some of the right locals, ones that would understand where they were headed. The band's next single in November of that year was "Radiate," which would have moderate success in Europe and the west coast of the US. Slowly the band built a following in their hometown while completing their debut album during the winter. In spring 2008 their debut Unfurl was released. This gave the band the break they needed with the local and national press via blogs and music websites. The band was featured in Electronic Musician magazine in a piece covering D.I.Y. electronic releases in April that year. Most reviews were impressed with the release, with a few detractors that would clearly prefer their electronic music more polished and with layers of production. Having a full electronic band meant having a lot of equipment to carry in order to perform, and this led to the band performing sporadically in the New England area. While planning to embark on a tour on the east cost of the the US to support the album, Shana Slater announced she would be parting with the band as she was moving to Florida. Quickly they adapted to become a three piece band, but the missing fourth member meant they could no longer play as many instruments in a live setting. After fulfilling any performance dates they had scheduled the search for a new fourth member began. The third single from Unfurl titled "Homage" was released to allow the band time to find a new member without losing the momentum they had work so hard for. It received less press and was less promoted than their previous singles. During the fall of 2008 the search was complete when Jean Kennedy, a friend of the band, joined as a permanent member. She had no experience performing or even playing instruments, but the band felt she fit into the group best out of any potential replacements. While the band began writing material for their sophomore release in 2009, tragedy struck for Kennedy as a family member became seriously ill. It was apparent she would be the caretaker for children during and after the illness, and meant she could no longer perform or work with the band toward their next release. Having to once again adapt to become a three-piece band, the writing was on the wall -- too many changes and set backs were wearing the band down. Soon after Kennedy's departure, live performances ceased other than to book a Halloween show in Boston where they introduced new songs they were working on amongst some covers of their favorite goth songs, including a cover of the Halloween Theme from John Carpenter's Halloween. The band once again spent the winter writing new material. In spring 2010 the band performed a farewell show in Boston, MA, telling the audience they were merely taking a break to finish their next album, leaving the door open for a return. The sporadic performance schedule meant they were reaching fewer ears however; and although the show was well attended it was clearly the end of the line and Burnt Fur disbanded. Harrison moved on to begin a solo project under the name Love Times Infinity and serve as guitarist for Daniel Ouellette and the Shobijin, and the other members dispersed. The band was later briefly featured in the independent documentary "Life on the V: the Story of V66," released in 2014 and shown in several major cities as a selection for independent film festivals that year and in 2015. The film details the rise and fall of the Boston area music video television station V66 during 1985-1986, showcasing local music videos alongside national artists. Burnt Fur participated in the film as the music station was the catalyst to Harrison's interest in performing.

Search | Add | 4 | Els Xipis | Mireia, Marta, Mercè, Elena, Cecília, Josep Maria i Xavier | In the 60s the "Nova Cançó" had managed to appear groups and performers who sing pop songs in Catalan. But a missing children's group that brings music to children at the time, the act could see in theaters, fairs and festivals, which could ask for autographs or who heard on the radio. Thus were born Xipis, the hand of Concèntric, Josep Maria Espinás, Laura Almerich, Montserrat Angulo, Enric Frigola and Lluís Llach: children who sang for children in Catalan songs always present and, even, created especially for them. Between 1970 and 1974 made several concerts, recorded four records and left their small footprint. |

Search | Add | 4 | Briars Frome | "Briars Frome"……. A small village in deepest Norfolk….nothing exceptional about it, just a few houses, a pub, the parish church….and the grand old Manor house “Briars Court” watching over it all…..nothing exceptional…..but for one thing…..it disappeared. …or rather, it was forgotten…no one went there and no one came from there. All memory of it in the surrounding villages began to fade and talk of it stopped, after a while it did not even appear on any signposts or maps of the area. All of this began in 1965, shortly after Ray and Ron Verne bought and moved into Briars Court. The Verne Brothers were a rock and roll sensation and with their new found wealth they decided to buy a country house where they could record and party and enjoy all the things that being a rock and roll star in the 60’s could bring… ….but The Verne Brothers are also forgotten… Now the road that once led to and from the village is overgrown, hidden, and the few cars that pass that way drive by unaware of what lies just beyond the heavy, dark treeline…. …..however, if you stand in the right place, at the right time, through the trees you can see the crumbling chimney stacks of the old Manor house and hear the dull sound of the old Church bell carried on the wind…..as the crows circle overhead….. ....people started to notice strange radio sounds and interference hidden at the extreme ranges of the dial...only heard in certain areas and at certain times unaware how close they were to the forgotten village...and unaware of the eyes watching and the hands reaching...

Search | Add | 4 | Slaughter Haus 5 | Back in 1984, a unique heavy metal band was formed in West Seattle. Slaughter Haüs 5 was conceived as a glam/gothic-type metal band with a matching look and style and a powerful sound. Influenced by the New York Dolls, KISS, Hanoi Rocks, Angel City, TKO, Ratt and early Motley Crue, they featured matching hair, makeup and outfits, and continued the crossover vibe of Overlord, Shadow, Bondage Boys and others before them (hard driving heavy metal/hard rock music with a slightly punky singer and street vibe). They were initially a three-piece , then expanded to five-piece with two guitars, ultimately slimming down to a four-piece in the fall of 1985 after Tim Jones left the band. They recorded and self-released a 7" single in 1985, and had a song on the local compilation album, Metal Meltdown, later that same year. They steadily built up a following with their killer live show and original music, but sadly split up in 1988 after failing to land a record deal. Members went on to play in bands such as: War Babies, Sleep Capsule, Black Is Black, Gunn, Rebel, Broken Toys and Palooka. Slaughter Haüs 5 recently reunited for an amazing, and very well-received, live performance for the first time in almost thirty years at the N.W. Metalfest in Seattle in March, 2019.

He asks Kristina Fabula, his old high school classmate, to exchange her violin for a baritone guitar. Here is the beginning of Moms I’d Like To Surf ! Obviously, Frankie Goodlord, Bassist and doctor of sixties music spirit, and then Bobby Ballard, ex-punk drummer reconverted to jazz, join the line-up in spring 2013. After several lives playing classics surf covers and some of their own tunes, they record their first EP in 2014. The next year, they work on new compositions and release their second EP "Surf Cops Are Watching You" and their first video clip "Surf Blast Inferno". During this time(1927-1928), he won 1st Prize at Cenacolo Society competition in Rome and in 1932 won a Silver medal at an International Competition in Vienna, the first by an Asian artist. While in Rome, he sang for a welcoming party for His Eminence Cardinal van Russum of the Netherlands and charmed him with Mascagni’s “Ave Maria,” Franck’s “Paris Angelicus” and Japanese songs. He was so impressed by his “angelic voice” as he called it, he wanted to baptize him personally which he did a few months later. His baptism name was Paul. Later under the auspices of Japan Polydor where he was a recording artist, he went to Berlin and graduated from State Berlin Music Conservatory. During 1932 to 1936 he recorded many Japanese songs on 78 rpm which became very popular in Japan as well as performing in the first opera by Kousaku Yamada. While in Berlin attending school, he also recorded at Gramaphone studio in Berlin, songs from German popular movies of that time like Merry Widow and the like which became a big hit in Japan. He was an educator as well and taught at Ochanomizu University and Yokohama National University. He became president of Showa Ongaku University 1988. Born 12 June 1903, died 27 January 1993. |

Search | Add | 4 | Reagan Burger | Reagan Burger was born at the end of 2016 in Limoges, French capital city of nothingness. Composed of four young old men who were teenagers in the 80’s, this band is closer to early retirement than to high school diploma. But they just don’t care about it. El Doggo (Bass, Politrouk, Drinking Manager, Graphic Designer), Durf (Guitar, Toolbox Manager, Animal Cause Manager), Ray (Throat, Catering Manager, Camp Activity Leader, Graphic Designer) and Lolo (Drums, First Aider, Music Theory Teacher) did all play in several bands before Reagan Burger but the information is classified until 2072. Reagan Burger dedicates an obsessional worship to the 80’s hardcore punk, thrashcore and crust. Position that can lead to a death sentence in certain countries and to a total incomprehension on behalf of 98 % of the local population... Reagan Burger is not beautiful, Reagan Burger was not designed to look nice, Reagan Burger smells like sweat, Reagan Burger plays as it can, Reagan Burger chuckles foolishly, Reagan Burger speaks his mind, and thinks what it says, Reagan Burger would like you to listen to it before it get lynched!

Search | Add | 4 | Mike Boulan | On November 13, 1994, Mike Boulan formed No Cover Productions to record James Glass. He wanted his new company to be different from other record companies. He wanted the artists to have more freedom to create better music. As a guy who spent almost ten years prior to the formation of No Cover doing live recordings for local bands, it is likely he was building towards a record company ownership without even knowing it. Mike says that in the course of doing his live recordings, he came so outraged by the tremendous costs of putting out a CD that he decided to take some classes at the Recording Institute of Detroit to see if he could do better. Studying under the legendary Motown Sound Engineer, Bob Dennis, Mike says he wound up graduating at the top of his class.

Search | Add | 4 | The Nace Bros. Band | US country music band based in Kansas City, Missouri, headed by brothers [a=Jimmy Nace] and [a=David Nace]. Fourth generation performers their musical heritage began in the latter part of the 19th century with their great-great grandfather the classically trained violinist Valandingham Nace. The legacy continued in the 1920’s and 30’s with their grandfather Percy a multi-instrumentalist and square dance caller. By the late 40’s their father was playing box suppers and square dances. Johnny Nace progressed from playing rural dances to leading the house bands on the regional radio and television programs “Hillbilly Jamboree” and “Circle Six Ranch”. He recorded rockabilly in the late 50’s before finding his musical home during the golden age of honky-tonk. An astute songwriter he led a top notch band to regional success with songs like “Sing me the blues” and “Blue Notes”. Their 1997 release “Roots of Steel” is a tribute to their father and the lessons he taught them. In their 37th year as a touring group the Nace Brothers are poised for a larger audience.
