Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Ricardo Parronchi | Destra (Brazilian Prog Rock Band) | Destra had its embryo in 1997 with the name of Aquila, as Ricardo Parronchi was a bassist in a hard rock band with the same name formed by Túlio Regis, ex-G3 (vocal) workshop, Dico, ex-Katsbarnea (guitar) ), playing today with Catalau (ex-coup d'état) and Victor Alexandre, (drums). With the end of the band, Ricardo Parronchi decided to start a progressive rock band, still using the name Aquila, since the idea of the name had been his. The proposal was to make a heavy sound but with a lot of melody, mixing metal and progressive rock among other styles like jazz, mpb and blues. The lyrics will be sung in English and although they are not religious, directly or indirectly, they would all have a Christian message. It took 1 year until the members of what would be training for the first record in the studio were found, a demo entitled “Out of the game“, which had 4 songs and had in its formation Douglas Vanuchi (vocals), Eduardo Parronchi, brother of the bassist (guitar), Victor Alexandre (drums), Ricardo Parronchi (bass) and Marcos Ian (guest musician, keyboard), shortly after recording the demo Victor leaves the band and then Fabio Fernandes (ex-Portrait) enters ) With the demo in hand the band gets a contract with Megahard Records for a full album, although due to some differences the band changes its label in the middle of the recordings and signs with Destroyer Records, ending as well as recordings of the CD at the end of 1999, with co-producer guitarist Heros Trench, (Korzus) and also counting on Marcos Ian as a guest on keyboards. Changing the name to Destra, the band then released in January 2000 their 1st CD Sea of Doubt, containing 10 songs, the work obtained a great repercussion from the public and critics, being highly praised by all magazines and specialized sites , even without exterior. After the release of the CD, a band performs several tests with keyboardists and finally gets a fixed keyboard, Marcelo Saorim, then performing programs in several cities and states in Brazil, being invited to cable and radio programs like BACKSTAGE (from legendary Vitão Bonesso) in BRASIL 2000. In 2001, a band had a very low loss with the departure of vocalist Douglas Vanuchi, a band was almost sold out and with several shows scheduled when it happened. After fulfilling some commitments the vocalist leaves the band definitively for personal reasons and after a few months of testing the replacement would be Ricardo Cassau, but due to scheduling problems he would not stay long in the band. With no way to postpone the band, he then calls José Ricardo (ex-singer of Dream Theater cover), as a guest singer to sing in 2 bonus songs for the re-release of the CD Sea of Doubt. With him the band played some shows and would still participate in the "Tribute to Viper and Angra", an event that featured some of the main metal bands in the country. It is worth remembering that Destra was highly praised by André Matos himself (ex-vocalist from Angra and currently on Shaman), being mentioned even on its official website, it was during this period that the band started to have the idea of making a conceptual CD with several vocalists participating. The band would still do several tests with vocalists arriving again to count on Ricardo Cassau and Alexandre Silva for some shows, then in 2002 they started the pre-production of the rock opera “Joe´s Rhapsody” and it was at that time that the band met vocalist Neno Fernando (currently on Abstract Shadows), the vocalist participated in the pre-production of some songs, then he was invited to sing in the music video for “You Should Believe“ (this version was included on the CD of the 2nd Metal Mission compilation). At that time, keyboardist Marcelo Saorim left the group, being replaced in a short time by Maxsuel Rodrigo (Divine Works), who quickly adapted to the band, actively participating in the band's new compositions. Vocalist Neno also participated in the song “Dry Way” (for the project “The Book of Exodus”, sharing vocals with Ricardo Parronchi) and made a small participation in the song “Mother, Father” for the tribute of the band Journey, already that most of the music was sung by the bassist. He also did several shows with the group, including a highly praised performance in the tribute to the band Stryper, which had in its cast the biggest white metal bands of the national scene, but despite having a beautiful voice, his melodic style did not fit with the band, which was taking a notoriously more seventies course, which made the band start looking for a new singer again. At that time bassist Ricardo Parronchi was recording the song “Waiting in God” with some friends, which would be the entry song for the project “The Book of Exodus” (since the band invited to work, Stauros, cannot participate in the last minute, because a 3-member low had happened), when he met a vocalist who caught his attention precisely because he had a timbre and way of singing that was very different from what he was seeing on the scene at the time, because his voice reminded him a lot the 70's hard rock vocalists, vocalist Rodrigo Grecco. Ricardo then invited him to sing the project's song with him, the result was so satisfactory that Rodrigo was invited to be part of the band Destra. In 2003, the band left its former record label and closed a contract with two record labels in partnership (Avantage and Frontline Records), and after recording the instrumental and some guest vocalists' participation, the label together with the band decided to launch a first version of “Joe´s Rhapsody” (scheduled for early February) with Rodrigo sharing the vocals with the bassist Ricardo, thus showing the new phase of the band, not abandoning however the initial idea of launching this CD with several vocalists scheduled for the second semester of 2004. |

Also credited as Ex-Crocodiles. Although they were of the first groups to start the New Wave in Mallorca together with Forats Negres, [a=Zincpirithione] or Mac, no edit would achieve their first album until 1984. Shortly after recording the Maxi would be left without drummer and was when they met Manolo Iglesias, also known as [a=Manuel de Palma], former [a=Tequila (9)] then banished by Mallorca, who agreed to fill the vacancy. But it was not too long and barely played live together, shortly after would separate group. Anyway, the separation was not final since Ivan Tobias and Juan Manuel Riera coincide in Madrid and would return to play a season together. From this period would be born in 1988 his second Mini-LP. After the split Juanma continued but this time under the name The Crocodiles. He also ran Lotus Records Mail Order, and subsequently Mike Lloyd Music mail order, that existed from 1979 through to 1996. MLM also had a wholesale divison and more, all run and overseen by Andy. In 1983, Lotus Records joined with Inkeys cassette fanzine to organise and promote the first annual "UK Electronica Festival" at Milton Keynes in 1983, followed by further ones at Sheffield and Stafford through to 1990 when others took over the legacy we'd begun. In 1996, Andy left MLM to join CD Services mail order in Dundee, discovering and promoting hundreds and hundreds of new bands and artists via his 10 mail order catalogues covering all manner of specialist genres from Electronic to space-rock, industrial to Canterbury. At this point, Andy began his own amateur Dead Earnest CD label, which ultimately released 13 albums including the likes of space-rockers Krel, Spacehead, Space Mirrors and Secret Saucer, as well as electronic artist Mooch, Dundee's home grown Mr Spider, Hennissi and Paula Knight, plus the ground-breaking album from Doug Snyder & Bob Thompson. In 2006, he started to promote gigs around Dundee and went on to become one of the city's leading promotors of original Scottish bands, followed by a 6 year radio show for Radio North Angus, featuring emerging and unknown bands from Scotland and worldwide, of which that legacy continues to this day via a weekly radio show available world-wide on Bridge-FM out of Dundee. He is one of the leading specialists in the UK on the current Australian indie music scene and has been featuring Australian band and artists on the show for several years, including 22 radio shows devoted entirely to the Australian music scene, the only radio presenter in the UK to do this. Andy is still doing reviews, and is arguably one of the leading music reviewers for the past four decades. Dead Earnest as a label is now finished. Currently working on his extensive autobiography, seeking a publisher and hoping to have it published in early 2025. |

Search | Add | 4 | Platonik | Derek Marin | Platonik aka Derek Marin was born & raised in New York ctiy. He developed a passion for music early on & started playing the drums at age 9. Being influenced by groups like Depeche Mode, New Order, Front 242 & Big audio dynamite he stared playing in bands at age 14. During this time he also started to build his production skills, taking charge of the recording, mixing, & editing aspects at home & in the studio. He also began to experiment with other instruments like keyboards, bass & guitar. After playing drums in bands & generally being part of the background for almost ten years, Derek realized that there was something missing. The year was 1991 & techno started to become a prominent force in NYC. This was the thing that filled the void for him. It was new, exciting & it was a kind of music that he could do on his own as well as take advantage of his growing studio skills. So he purchased some electronic gear & by 1992 started producing tracks & selling mix tapes. By 1994 Derek started to become a respected dj in the electronic community in new york. It wasn't long before he started being part of important events, holding many residencies, working at the vinyl shop Throb in New York, & commercially releasing tracks. (see discography for more details) Currently Mr. Marin is as busy as ever. He continues to produce tracks & remixes for various record labels, djs around the world, produces mix cds, & keeps things together at Throb records. Search | Add | 4 | Taming The Outback | Taming The Outback were a three-piece from Southend-on-Sea (Essex, UK) and were ... * Daryl Amos >> Drums * Tony Sampson >> Guitar & Vocals * Jason Sherwin >> Bass (died in 2011) The band were active from 1986 to 1989. While they spent most of their time playing outside of the town itself, they were very much a Southend band and established a large and loyal following all across the UK. The original three members formed after criss-crossing each other’s musical paths in South East Essex in the early 1980s. Melbourne-born drummer Daryl Amos and bass player Jason Sherwin first played together in local band A Wreath For Brezhnev, later meeting-up with guitarist/singer Tony Sampson, who was then playing in the band Playground, to form Taming The Outback – a band characterized by an aggressive, driven, rhythm section, strong self-penned songs with a rich, echo-saturated wall-of-sound guitar. Taming The Outback soon began recording at Elephant Studios in East London, where they recorded their debut single Blue Heart / Fire & Smoke – now a minor rarity due to limited distribution and a tiny pressing of 500 copies. However, their public profile rapidly changed when the band attracted local and national press attention with their infamous “crucifixion” publicity shoot – taken (without permission) on Salvation Army land. At the time it was claimed to be in protest over “religious hypocrisy” and “obscenity of ownership of vast tracts of land in the hands of the churches.” It was, of course, pure coincidence that the band were also preparing for a second single: Eight-Hour King / Crack In Your Brain. The image found itself splashed over the local newspaper, The Evening Echo, accompanied by headlines screaming “Blasphemous!”, “Sick!” and a multitude of complaints by local Christian groups. Soon after, national UK tabloids picked up on the story. Whether or not it was a cheap publicity stunt, atheistic protest or a work of art is still a subject of debate among those who remember it. Nevertheless, the punk and post-punk generation always regarded religious, political and other national institutions as legitimate targets for comment. Playing live became a primary focus for the band but the endless gigging, drinking and the failure to release the aforementioned second single and the LP (already recorded) probably marked the beginning of the end of the band. Taming The Outback itself played their last gigs in 1989 with the aggression being turned inwards between personnel and instruments.

Search | Add | 4 | Fabulous Studio Band | In 1953 Musical Director Frank "Buck" Shaffer moved to Porterville, CA and formed The Fabulous Studio Band of about 20 students from both the Porterville High School and the Porterville Community College. The second studio band of its kind in California, FSB went on to play around the world in many famous venues throughout decades. Their third album "Have Band Will Travel" released in 1963(?) is a compilation from the bands songs after being sent on tour to play for GIs in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, and Hawaii. According to buckshaffer.com, "the tour lasted six weeks and the Band appeared on Nippon TV and did a Far East network radio show that followed President Kennedy and his famous address on the Berlin Situation." The fourth album from the FSB, released in 1972(?) "Celebrates 20 Years in the 20th Century" is their last and final album under the direction of Shaffer. Some of these are believed to be recorded/pressed in Santa Maria, CA(?). In 1996 and 2000 two CDs were independently released by the FSB under the direction of Jim Kusserow, "Still Swingin' After All These Years (96)," and "Plays Capitol Jazz (00)." Today the Fabulous Studio Band continues under the direction of Clark Keele.
