Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Tico Zamora | American guitarist, songwriter and producer, born in 1967 in Washington D.C., USA. Real name: Torcuato Zamora. Tico Zamora began playing guitar at an early age. Starting at the age of eight, he received daily guitar lessons from his father, Torcuato Zamora, Sr., an accomplished flamenco guitarist from Almeria, Spain. After five years of apprenticeship with his father, at age 13, the young Zamora bought his first electric guitar, a Fender Stratocaster. Zamora was greatly influenced by his older sister's record collection, which included bands such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Aerosmith. Through countless hours of playing along with and emulating what he heard on those seminal records, he discovered his passion for the electric guitar. Too young to play in nightclubs, his first performance was at a Battle of the Bands in a local Washington, D.C. area game room where he won the competition. Shortly thereafter, he was asked to join H.R. ("Human Rights"), fronted by Paul Hudson, lead singer of the influential hardcore punk band Bad Brains. This was 16-year-old Zamora's introduction to the world of punk rock. After touring and recording in the studio with H.R. for two years, H.R.'s former band, Bad Brains, went back into the studio with its original band members and released a new album, I Against I. In 1987, Zamora moved to Athens, Georgia to start a new band, Gypsy Cab Company, and immerse himself in the thriving alternative rock and new wave music scene. Two years later, Maureen Tucker, drummer for The Velvet Underground, asked Zamora to play guitar with her in the opening act for Lou Reed on his New York tour across the U.S. and Canada. In 1990, Zamora played guitar in Mo Tucker's band and toured throughout many cities in Europe, including Berlin, Germany, where Zamora lived from 1991 to 2009. In Berlin, Zamora set up a recording studio and played with and produced many bands, some of which were part of the exploding electropop/electroclash music scene occurring in Berlin in the early 2000s. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Neon Wolf Music | Neon Wolf | Neon Wolf, born in 1992 in Cagliari, Italy, is a composer and producer who ranges between synth pop and synth rock. His name comes from two elements: the neon lights characteristic of the 1980s and the wolf, the animal that fascinates him most. Growing up in the 1990s among video games and action movies, including the myth of Top Gun, a passion passed on by his father, from the age of 14 he threw himself into music in a rock band with friends and schoolmates, as a drummer, and later experimented with different roles, including singer. In 2021 the first solo work, with the album Tactical Action, oriented on the synthpop, synth rock genre, with an atmosphere inspired by classic video games and action movies. A tribute to the music of his favorite movies and video games, such as Escape From New York, Metal Gear Solid, Die Hard and many others. His music explores a distant era, but also wants to become something new. In July 2024 the first hit single, Memories, dedicated to parents, childhood memories and the world of arcades. In fall 2022 the first collaboration, with a book trailer anticipating the soundtrack to Rick Shelley, a book series by writer Alessandro Fusco. The full album, namesake of the first book, is released in October 2024, and is designed to be listened to while reading. Here he mixes different genres, from dark synthwave to prog, to recall big names like Carpenter. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Mieczyslaw Kolinski | Mieczyslaw Kolinski (5th Sept 1901, Warsaw — 7th May 1981, Toronto) was a Polish-Canadian ethnomusicologist and composer. He became a naturalized Canadian citizen in 1974. Kolinski received his education in Berlin, where he studied piano and composition with [a6828211] and [a906989] at the [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/481472]Hochschule für Musik[/url] (1923-'26). The scholar then pursued musicology at the Berlin University under [a1325982], [a8222219], [a3549142], and [a2529657], granted a PhD in 1930. As Hornbostel's assistant at the Berlin Staatliches Phonogramm-Archiv (1926 to 1933), Kolinski made several field trips to Bavarian Alps and Sudeten. He spent the mid-'30s transcribing Surinamese, Dahoman, Togonese, Ashanti, Haitian, and Kwakiutl Indian music for [l441870] and [l203349]. From 1938 till 1951, Mieczyslaw Kolinski resided in Brussels, Belgium. In 1951, Kolinski traveled to the United States and spent fifteen years in New York. He worked as [l594706]'s editor and a music therapist at several hospitals and co-founded the [l996649] (serving as president in 1958-'59). Since 1966, Mieczyslaw Kolinski lived in Canada. He taught ethnomusicology at [l947487] (1966-'76), becoming the university's first Scholar Emeritus upon retirement. Some of his pupils include [a2640311], [a1038461], [a291715], and [a950315]. Kolinski was also an associate composer at the [l75747]. Among Kolinski's primary research interests was establishing the scientific basis of harmony and melody. One of his early monographs, [i]Konsonanz als Grundlage einer neuen Akkordlehre[/i] ("Consonance as the basis of a new chord theory") published in 1936, anticipated a few of [a=Paul Hindemith]'s theories. In ethnomusicology, Kolinski is most notable for developing cross-cultural analytical methods for studying the human acoustic perception that would apply to an overarching variety and diversity of the world's music genres and styles. Rather than focusing on contrasting differences between European and non-European musical cultures like most scholars did, Kolinski instead highlighted existing parallels, suggesting there are "basic similarities in the psycho-physical constitution of mankind." In the absence of such a universally recognized "objective" comparative framework in ethnomusicology today, most contemporary scientists, including [a=Bruno Nettl], routinely mentioned Kolinski's findings, alongside [a304968]'s and his teacher Hornbostel's writings, as most notable attempts to create one. As a composer, Mieczyslaw Kolinski often employed elements of modernism and wrote in a wide range of styles. His compositions include at least one work for an orchestra, many chamber pieces for small ensembles, duos for piano with violin or oboe, and solo piano pieces. Kolinski authored settings and arrangements of numerous carols and German, Dutch, Slovak, French, American, Canadian, Yiddish, Sephardic, Hebrew folksongs. | |

The name of the training evokes both the chemistry that occurs between Mario and Viviane, who share the composition, voices and guitars and the diversity of their musical influences. In 2004, after a fruitful creative period, the two singer-authors are launching a debut album, Un, produced, directed and recorded in their home studio. This first album, which includes songs in English, signed Mario, and French, written by Viviane, enabling them to lay the foundation for their unique style distinguished by the prominence given to vocal harmonies, through poetry texts and by tinged melodies of medieval accents, Gregorian and Arabists. In spring 2005, the Osmosaïc duo began performing in the show after having expanded their repertoire of several new pieces. They will later nearly 200 performances in pubs, festivals and theaters across Quebec. The reaction of spectators and media who discover them is very positive. Gradually Osmosaïc is building a network of loyal fans bewitched by the richness of their repertoire and originality of their approach. In June 2007, obtaining a grant from the MRC de Roussillon Regional Cultural Fund allows them to design a staging with François Racine for a show they presented in March 2008 at the Vanier Cultural Centre of Châteauguay. In September 2008, a new collection of new songs in their wallet, members of Osmosaïc are ready to record a new album. They then approached the director François Lalonde (DobaCaracol, Lhasa de Sela, Tomas Jensen, Jean Leloup, Marco Calliari), who agrees to arrange and carry out their second album, an eponymous. Released in May 2009, the album features 11 rooms Osmosaïc the highly poetic texts inspired by nature and mestizo folk music of Latin accents, country, rock and Celtic. Refined and inventive arrangements are biased to the strings and percussion, adding subtle textures to the compositions which combines tradition and modernity. renowned musicians, including Yves Lambert and Mario Légaré, have collaborated to drive.

With this second record, Damien Chierici (violin, programming) and Louan Kempenaers (piano, programming) create a modern electronica ode to travelling and letting go. Downtempo and essentially instrumental on "Trail", on this album Kowari's universe is enriched by epic backing vocals, hypnotic organic drums, intoxicating loops and stronger electro beats. "The Kowari DNA we imprinted on 'Trail' is still there," explain Damien and Louan. "The piano, the violin, the search for melodic power in the compositions, the drive of the loops, the soothing moments that herald flights that are more evocative of cinema... But there was also a desire to add organic warmth and go even further in the use of electro elements. In concerts, people cry on some tracks and dance on others. That's exactly what we're looking for."

| Search | Add | 4 | Open Circle Party | "...its 'Open Circle Party' because a party is a celebratory gathering as well as a social or political force... and its a circle - well, anything is really - but its an 'open circle' in the sense that both the music and the band are open-ended and participation, improvisation and chance are encouraged and invited... this present album is a studio project by the two of us, but we are organising performances for which the band will expand to six or seven members and hopefully some form of that expanded line-up will feature on the next album so, yeah, its really an ongoing 'open circle party'..." "...the album has two extended tracks that are like two sides on an old vinyl album... its not too long an album by current CD standards, but its about the same length as the 'Love Supreme' album by John Coltrane or Santana's 'Abraxas' or an old Nick Drake or Beatles album or whatever... and we like 'side-long' tracks that get into a mood or a groove and stay there for a good while, like Fela or Ali Akbar Khan or electric Miles Davis, music that changes constantly with subtle variations and which feels like it can go off in any direction at any given moment, like life, like sex..." "...each of the two pieces on the album is based on a live, solo performance which was then developed and manipulated in various ways... the basis for the first part is an electric guitar feedback improvisation in an altered tuning, and the second is based on a rhythm performed on Indian tabla drums... each initial performance, the guitar feedback and the tabla groove, went on for about 17 minutes and was recorded in one take, and the album grew organically from that simple foundation... by overdubbing we played along with the basic tracks with no preconception or plans, and when we agreed that something sounded interesting we worked with it... the process was completely free and improvisational and for that reason exciting and engaging for us as the composer/performers because we never knew how it would turn out..." - from an interview with Chris Basile in Melbourne. | |

His following collaborative project with Manu Svensson under the name Deep Wild led to two EPs for Elektro System.

| Search | Add | 4 | S.T.R.E.F.F | STREFF | STREFF (Nikita & Sveta) is an underground dubstep/hardcore/dubcore project conceived in the ex-USSR authoritarian state of Belarus as a form of music protest against corrupt politicians and practices. Originally STREFF was formed in 1997 in Minsk (Belaurs) by Nikita Chudjakov and Dmitri Protasevich. They've started with the old-school hardcore and jungle, after few years moved to industrial-noise and then discovered for themselves the DHR sound. In the 1999 another member Svetlana Shljachova joined STREFF. "We've always liked an experimental music that's why we always tried to express our passion for fat, rough beats, noisy textures and whicked samples. We like to fuck up the sound in a weirdest manner we can. The other aspect is that music can not only be fun but also a powerful weapon in the right hands. We hate racism and all kinds of discrimintation and dictatorship existing in a different proportions and created by different people all over the world. So STREFF is our weapon to fight with the all these things". With releases on underground Fact Records (Israel) and squat-based Glocal (France), concerts in Belarus and Russia and after 10 years of hibernation STREFF is back at it again. "STREFF is reborn to bring the attention of all like-minded people to the problem of Darfur. It's happening right now but it seems that nobody wants to hear about it. So, we'll scream!!! This new record is meant to be a message, an activists project and a way to collect some money to the organizations helping in Darfur. It's not about profit, we want to help bring peace and do something constrictive with our music, instead of just entertaining party people." The STREFF new short album with remixes 'DARFUR" 'Dafur' is released under Creative Common license for FREE. Download STREFF mp3 album for free and If you like it - DONATE whatever amount you can TO NGOs HELPING IN DARFUR! |
