Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Rabbi Paysach J. Krohn Paysach J. Krohn (born January 29, 1945) is an Orthodox Jewish rabbi, mohel (practitioner of ritual Jewish circumcision), author, and lecturer on topics related to ethics and spiritual growth. He is the author of the bestselling "Maggid" series of books for ArtScroll, inspired by the stories of Rabbi Sholom Schwadron, who was known as the "Maggid of Yerushalayim". He also authored a seminal work on bris milah (religious circumcision), also published by ArtScroll. Krohn was born in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. His father, Rabbi Avrohom Zelig Krohn, was a mohel (ritual circumcisor), of whom there were many in Brooklyn. He decided to build a practice in Queens and found a job in a hospital there. He moved his family to Kew Gardens when Paysach was seven years old. Paysach was one of the leaders of the Kew Gardens Pirchei boys choir. Krohn is a fifth-generation mohel. When his father became ill, Paysach learned this skill, in order to support his family. At age 21, he was the youngest mohel ever certified by the Brith Milah Board of New York. He has performed thousands of religious circumcisions. His ceremonies have been described "exceptionally spiritual and inspirational". Krohn's wife, Miriam, is one of the principals of Shevach High School in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, New York. Krohn is a well-known lecturer, sharing stories in the manner of a maggid and also collecting stories for his speeches and books. He also leads Jewish historical tours throughout Europe, speaking about the rich and vibrant Jewish communities that existed prior to World War II. He documented the first of these trips in his 2007 book, Traveling with the Maggid. Along with Esther Jungreis, Krohn has served as a guest speaker at the annual Shavuot retreat hosted by Gateways since 2005. In December 2004 Krohn launched the organization PaL (Phone and Learn) in the United Kingdom. A division of Partners in Torah in the U.S., PaL matches up Jews who want to learn more about their heritage with a friendly, knowledgeable tutor for up to an hour a week of Jewish study and discussion over the phone. Krohn is well known as the author of a series of "Maggid" books inspired by the stories of Rabbi Sholom Schwadron, who was known as the "Maggid of Jerusalem" for the inspirational mussar talks he gave every Friday night from 1952 to 1992 to the public at the Zikhron Moshe shtiebel in Jerusalem. Krohn met Schwadron when his father invited Schwadron to stay with them during one of his frequent fund-raising trips to America in late 1964, although Schwadron didn't know him or his family personally. Schwadron insisted on paying rent, which Krohn agreed to reluctantly. During the five months that Schwadron resided with the Krohns, a close bond formed between him and the family. When Schwadron announced that he was leaving after Passover 1965 to travel back to Israel by boat, the entire family saw him off at the pier. Then Krohn's father handed Schwadron an envelope containing all the "rent money" he had paid, as he had never intended to keep it. A few days later, Krohn's father said he missed his guest so much that he decided to greet him when his boat docked in Israel. He and his wife quickly arranged passports and flew to Israel two days before Schwadron arrived. After giving the Schwadron family time for a reunion, the Krohns appeared with their own welcome. Avrohom Zelig Krohn was diagnosed with a terminal illness after this event, and died the following year. Six months after that, the family received a letter from Schwadron saying that he was coming to America again. Schwadron became a surrogate father to Krohn's seven orphans. He showed great sensitivity towards Krohn's widow, remembering his own mother's struggles to raise her orphaned children. With Schwadron's encouragement and active input, Paysach Krohn penned the first of his popular "Maggid" books, The Maggid Speaks, published in 1987. Schwadron died before the publication of the second book in the series, Around the Maggid's Table. Subsequent titles (Along the Maggid's Journey, In the Footsteps of the Maggid, Echoes of the Maggid, Reflections of the Maggid etc.) memorialized Schwadron's influence on the overall project. As of 2012, Krohn has published eight books in the series.

Search Add 4 Pings Pings is a fiend for the 90s ‘Golden Era’ sound coming from luminaries like DJ Premier, Pete Rock and J Dilla. This however, is not where his interests stop. Always looking out for something new, this passion has lead Pings to Djing, recording mix tapes, turntablism, production and events. Djing for the past 8 years and making music for around 4 years, Pings is a self-proclaimed ‘scratch nerd’ and it is apparent in his production style. Producing music on the Akai MPC Pings always goes for the classic hip hop sound with a fresh approach so expect plenty of hard hitting releases to come from this hip hop purist.

He got support from different German musicians, for example Kalle Wallner (RPWL, Blind Ego), Marek Arnold (Toxic Smile, Seven Steps To The Green Door, Cyril, United Progressive Fraternity, Flaming Row, Damanek), Martin Schnella (Flaming Row, Mau & Schnella) and many more. The songs were generated over a period of 8 years and mixed by 3 producers in 3 different studios. The result are a combination of wide variation Neo progressive music, straightforward and classic rock, sometimes with slight metal elements. In addition, [m1578521] (2018) follow the same rules. Search Add 4 José Lázaro Tello José Lázaro Tello Cordero His beginnings were on Radio Miraflores in 1945 and replacing Alberto Olivares Sánchez Moreno, the beloved "Sapito". He did so badly that he asked Clemente Palma for another chance and thus three months passed to achieve his goal. It featured the duo "Bolaños-Monteverde". D'acosta, the black Jack y Velásquez "El Trío Lucumí" and Linda Izquierdo, who performed singing boleros with great success. On Radio Atalaya, "Los Embajadores Criollos" triumphed with David Odría, a great revelation of the microphone and that, due to the popularity achieved in a short time, were the "jale" of Radio Victoria, "The Station of the Best Programs". A brilliant management by José Eduardo Cavero Andrade and who won "Los Ídolos del Pueblo" forever. Another station was emerging at that time. Radio "La Crónica". On large projects, directed by Juán Silva Villacorta and who set his expectations on David Odría. A special offer led to its acceptance and left the "Creole Ambassadors" without a midday entertainer. Then the opportunity would come for José Lázaro Tello, who, with everything he learned on Radio Miraflores and later on Radio Callao, is hired by Radio Victoria, positions himself and becomes the owner of such a privileged place. It would begin there, the long career of this great Creole speaker from Chiclayo.

Search Add 4 Hidden Highways Hidden Highways is a musical collaboration between [a=Carol Anne McGowan] and [a=Tim V Smyth]. Delivering quiet Americana-inflected folk, combining waltzing acoustic guitars, blended harmonies and brooding ambiance. The two first started working together in late 2010 and their eponymous four-track EP was released in April 2012 on [l=Out On A Limb Records]. They have toured at home and abroad sharing stages with The Staves, Lucy Rose, Terry Reid and John Smith amongst others. In the midst of all of that, Hidden Highways were awarded the RTÉ/RAAP breakthrough bursary for best emerging musical performers in their genre. 'Old Hearts Reborn' the duo's full length studio album was released in September 2013 on Out On A Limb Records and has garnered much critical praise. "...for those who appreciate simple, honest songwriting, this is gorgeous stuff" - The Irish Times ☆☆☆☆ "Potential album of the year...this is pure songwriting at its absolute best" - Hot Press ☆☆☆☆ "Road trip records - the ones that inspire you to pick somewhere and just get going in your very own movie. Neil Young's After the Gold Rush, Tom Waits' Closing Time and Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska are three of the greatest, but there's always room for a new soundtrack, and that's where the aptly-monikered Hidden Highways come in." - Harry Guerin, RTÉ ☆☆☆☆ "Hidden Highways have delivered one of the most strikingly lovely Irish debut albums in recent times, a haunting collection of songs of quiet power and tear-stained beauty." - Entertainment.ie ☆☆☆½ "...an incredible collection of songs that are thoroughly crafted and utterly timeless...they deliver songs that don't just aspire to Americana, but transcend it." - The Irish Mirror

In 1982, her LP Brinn came out with her own material. The critics were almost universally positive, but the music did not reach a large audience. In 1986, the single Så vacker Du är, which became a bigger success. After a long break, she then released her CD Liv on her own label in October 2005, where the song "Älskade barn" has been played on Sweden's Radio P4 and many local stations. "Älskade barn" was for a period the most requested song on Radio Gävleborg. In the summer of 2008, Green released another CD with 12 new tracks - Mitt bultande hjärta. It was a somewhat more beat-based CD with a wide range of genres - everything from the symphonic Lyss till den kärlek to the rock ballad Du är inte ensam. Green's music is built around her strong and self-revealing lyrics which are arranged and processed by her producer [a931758]. Karin is also the daughter of the late skiing legend Nils "Mora- Nisse" Karlsson from the village of Östnor in Mora, Dalarna.

Search Add 4 Isis Graham Isis Graham As the modern era of dance music dawned in the mid 90s, a teenaged Isis Graham (Esette) glued herself to MuchMusic's Electric Circus and absorbed every beat of the house music boom. Every instant moved her to the core of her being: the rainbow of lights, the writhing bodies, the headphoned maestros on the decks. And most of all, that beat. That relentless roll and cycle of kick and snare, hat and keys, bass and vocal, elevating her soul and moving her body in her bedroom all alone. That same teenaged Isis still lives on in the body and mind of one of Calgary's stalwart hubs of community and music. If she ever reflects on that first tentative moment gracing the decks in a warehouse in 1999, does she feel the circle closing? Does she know that the local scene ringleaders she looked up to then, pulling together musicians and artists to create communal spaces of communication and expression, are now her? Music is one thing, and community another, but for Ms. Graham the two are mutually and irrevocably linked. As an ardent believer that progress for one means progress for all, Isis spends as much time tweaking EQs as she spends meeting, collaborating and planning with her musical peers. Ten years of promoting women in dance music as one engine behind Girls On Decks are already behind her (with another lifetimes worth of years ahead), residencies and relationships from gay bars to raves notch her belt, and a current residency at Habitat Living Sound includes not only a monthly night of soulful, techy, deep house, Nu*Movement, but a groundbreaking collaborative music production and networking effort called Studio Social. At the root of it all is the music. The hypnotic, spiritual, relentless music. After collaborating with Western Canadian mainstay Neighbour in 2008, the releases have been coming fast and furious, and only barreling faster as she takes up a leading A/R spot at recently revived Calgary label Substation Recordings. Her sounds are widely strewn across the spectrum of house and independent music – techno and bass are as likely as intimate songwriting fare, and her samples and vibes range from the funky to the deep and back again. The music that drives Isis feeds her soul, and vice versa, and that interplay of perpetual motion will keep this dynamic woman a key piece of Western Canada's musical puzzle for as many years as she can muster.
Search Add 4 The Ueckers THE UECKERS are not an oldies group, they are not a glitter group they don't play boogie music and they don't play blues. THE UECKERS are an original baseball punk band for 2013, and their songs are brief, to the point and every one a potential hit. The duo consists of J. Uecker and B.Uecker. The two guitarists, play with such force that their sound has been compared to a hundred howling howitzers going off. The two share singing responsibilities and the drummer's (yet to be named) pulsating playing launches the throbbing sound of the band. THE UECKERS all originate from the north side of Chicago and kids who grew up there became musicians, degenerates or dentists. THE UECKERS are a little of each. Their sound is not unlike the sound of a fast drill on a rear molar. With no budget, no cares and a constant soundtrack(and press release) lifted from THE RAMONES they show their undying love for baseball and punk rock with 14 blistering budget rock tunes that when paired with a cold Old Style will get you through the summer ahead. GO CUBBIES! K-N-U-C-K! IF YOU WANNA PLAY TODAY!
