Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Pretty Shirts The Pretty Shirts was formed in A Guarda (Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain) in 2009 when members coming from prior bands decided to join in order to create raw and straight R'n'R willing to step on every stage they'll find along their way After two years of rehearsals and gigs in Galicia and Portugal, The Pretty Shirts went into the studio (October 2011) and they cut their debut EP "So good to be right here", containing 5 intense R'n'R and garage rock recorded nearly live at the studio. After hitting the road and many gigs, a year later, David Baz (founder bassist) decided to quit and the band focused in writing new songs searching for harder sounds while looking for the right replacement for the bassist vacancy. 2013 The Pretty Shirts went back to the stages, having in mind the release of a new album. In June, 2014 the band releases an advance single entitled “Ain’t no another love song” In April, 2015 they tape a self-titled long play in Baixo Miño Estudios. The record features 8 tracks reflecting on one hand the energy the band delivers playing live, but in the other hand the quietest side of themselves, which was not present on prior recordings. The band is currently formed by members: Miguel D. Lomba (vocals), Miguel Castro (guitar and backing vocals), Álvaro Vázquez (bass) y Manuel González (drums and backing vocals)

Search Add 2 Eastwood Peak In the late 60’s, North Middlesex High School friends Dean Glow, Mickey Lorden, Carl Mountain, Steve St. Hilaire, Bill Cabana and Bob “Chis" Kumpf formed “The Confiscated Doorknob”. The band was extremely popular and was known throughout the area as "The Group" to have play at a function. Eventually Bob Kumpf left the band, and later Bill Cabana. Dean , Mickey and Carl added 4 Brass members; Dave Glow, John Corkum, Gene Rauhala and Tim Rollo and performed for many years as “Daybreak”. John Bruner was added as the Bass Player. Brass sections were popular at the time and there were plenty of cover tunes including Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4, Make Me Smile, Does Anybody Really Know What Time it Is; The Ides of March Vehicle; Grass Roots Midnight Confessions, Temptation Eyes; Sam and Dave's Hold on I'm Coming; Billy Joe Royal's Cherry Hill Park; Blood, Sweat and Tears You've Made Me So Very Happy, I Can't Quit Her, Lucretia MacEvil; The Buckingham's Kind of a Drag; and The Beatles Got to Get You Into My Life. As the Brass members went their own way Kevin Visnaskas was added as the lead guitarist. Carl Mountain moved on and was replaced by Kevin Hinds on drums. Daybreak continued to perform the college and club circuit. As time went on Mickey Lorden decided to retire from Daybreak and go on His own. Dean Glow, John Bruner, Kevin Visnaskas and Kevin Hinds formed the new Band “Eastwood Peak”. The band began working on original material as well as continuing with the cover tunes that the audience loved to hear. Wednesday nights at the Franco-American club in Westford Mass. drew large crowds during the summers through the early and mid '70's. "Big Bear" in Brookline NH became a regular once a month weekend gig for the band. The club previously had only country acts performing and Eastwood Peak was the first rock band to take the stage. The club owner hesitated at first, but soon found that Eastwood Peak was very very good for business. The band recalls their amazement at looking out the window to see the parking lot overflowing with cars and people being turned away at the door. Eastwood Peak honed their live performances with continuous bookings throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. While the club dates payed the bills, the band was looking for opportunities to showcase their original music. Their first single was receiving airplay on Boston's WBCN and WCOZ, and Worcester's WAAF. The band looked to Boston and Cambridge where they could play their repertoire of original music along with such up and coming acts as the Romantics, Thundertrain and the Cars. The Club, Cantone's and The Rat provided the opportunity to play for audiences that wanted to hear fresh original music. Eastwood Peak performed for over 25 years finally giving it a break with new families and a lot of work behind the band. In the early 2000’s the Band reunited for a very successful reunion at the Alpine Grove in Hollis, NH. The band could still play even without practices and did a couple of more gigs to keep it going. In 2006 “Eastwood Peak” invited Mickey Lorden to play a few sets with the band at the Big Bear in Brookline, NH. The band has since performed a number of Gigs with 5 members. “We can still rock and have fun doing it” We thank all our loyal followers and hope we will continue! Guitarist Kevin Visnaskas was stunned when he walked into the Big Bear Lodge in Brookline New Hampshire around 7 PM, Saturday evening, April 10. The parking lot was jammed with cars to celebrate the half-a-century mark for "The Installers" guitarist. Vocalist Stephen Clark, bassist Marc Rines, the drums of Jim Burns along with second guitar Barry Callahan awaited the arrival of fellow bandmate Visnaskas before the R & B/Rock/Blues outfit rocked the house to open things up. The band's producer, John "J." Geils showed up to much applause and added even more amplified magic. Wife Lisa Visnaskas conspired with her husband's friends for months to put together the event. A beautiful Sitar was the key gift (along with the party) for the underrated journeyman who packed concert halls like The Commodore in Lowell and The Paradise in Boston in the 1970s and 1980s with "Eastwood Peak" and the "Andy Watson Band." Originally signed to brother John Visnaskas' Pure & Easy Records - the label that issued discs by MC5 Wayne Kramer, latter-day Nervous Eaters when they were known as The Reflectors along with Gary Shane solo as well as his work with Shane Champagne, Eastwood Peak closed the show with a lengthy set of material which ran the gamut from Mott The Hoople's "All The Way To Memphis" to Bob Seger's "Fire Down Below". Between the appearance by J. Geils and the reformed Eastwood Peak came a four song set by Andy Pratt. "Pass Away" from the Perfect Therapy album, The Beatles' "Fool On The Hill" (a tune rarely played live by Pratt), "Avenging Annie" and "Summer Summer" from his soon-to-be re-released Sony disc "Andy Pratt", were an extra special birthday treat for Kevin. The music was non-stop in the stunningly spacious venue just re-opening to music. Manager Debra Lefebvre has a winner on her hands in this room with the country music of The Midnight Bandits, the blues of Roxanne and The Voodoo Rockers, and tributes to the Police as well as celebrated Neil Young appreciators Rust Never Sleeps all booked. Longtime New England area sound technician / producer / recording engineer Ben Chandler will be putting his sound system in the place, a nice complement to his recently opened Studio Metronome, a state of the art facility located in Brookline, NH. The entire event was videotaped and a lengthier critique will follow.
