Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 8 | Master Ibrahim | Master Ibrahim (1915-1980) | Master Ibrahim (1915-1980) started learning the clarinet at the age of 11. A prolific musician, Ibrahim (often also spelt as Ebrahim), seems to have been equally at home as a Hindustani classical musician (he recorded both for AIR and HMV) and as a film musician. Unlike many of his contemporaries in the film orchestras, his name was well-known amongst the general public because HMV also released many records of his instrumental versions of popular film songs. Searching on the Internet, I came across an extract from a dissertation paper by a New York-based clarinetist Shanti Raval titled 'The Adaptation of the Clarinet to Hindustani Music: The Playing Style of Master Ebrahim'. In her paper, Raval claims that Master Ebrahim 'remains to this day, the only Indian clarinetist to play on the Boehm system.' The Boehm clarinet, Raval explains, is used by 'the majority of Western classical musicians.... Master Ebrahim, however, was able to convey many of the inflections of Hindustani music on a Boehm clarinet.' Another admirer of Master Ibrahim was the young Ruskin Bond: "I was also fond of the clarinet (turj) playing of an Indian musician, Master Ibrahim, and I had some of his recordings which transported me back to the streets and bazaars of small-town India. Light, lilting and tuneful, I preferred this sort of flute music to the warblings of the more popular songsters." |

| Search | Add | 8 | Mirza Hodža Minno | Mirza Hodža | Born in Tuzla In mid-1998 Minno was imprisoned for 8 years. The reason for this was an escalated argument with his girlfriend at the time, because she cheated on him during his concert in Rijeka . Minno became violent during the argument and inflicted several stab wounds on her. After taking her to a local clinic in Tuzla , he turned himself in to the police in Munich , despite the fact that there was no charge or warrant for his arrest. The song Ne troši suze na mene , which turned out to be one of his most successful songs along with Na dan il' dva , was recorded again in 2000 by his producer Halid Muslimović.To date, Minno's version, despite its originality, has almost fallen into oblivion, and the interpretation, by the more popular Halid Muslimovic, has become much more widespread and popular. The album Ti si me izdala was released by its producer Halid Muslimovic in 2000 while Minno was in prison. The album was recorded and completed before his arrest. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Jonathan Monk | British conceptual artist (b. 1969, Leicester); currently based in Berlin, Germany. Jonathan Monk creates unorthodox "minimalist" and "conceptual" art across various mediums and disciplines. He has collaborated with [a=Douglas Gordon], Dave Allen, [a=Ross Sinclair] and other established UK artists. Monk earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at [l=Leicester Polytechnic] in 1988, followed by a Master's from [l=Glasgow School Of Art] in 91. Since the early 1990s, Monk had numerous solo exhibitions at [l=Centre For Contemporary Arts, Glasgow], [l=Museum Kunst Palast], London's [l=Institute Of Contemporary Arts], [l=Musée D'Art Moderne De La Ville De Paris], [l=Artpace San Antonio] and other prestigious venues. Monk's works frequently challenge and disrupt the traditional conventions of "distribution" and "valuation" of artwork in the contemporary art world. In 2014, he left a unique author's collage on each seat for his public talk at [l=Dia Art Foundation]. Monk also had a Receipt Drawings series, selling hand-drawn copies of his dinner restaurant checks to the first bidder on his Instagram account (for the price of the meal). Jonathan Monk created several musical and "non-music" projects. In 2003, he collaborated with San Francisco-based post-rock/experimental band [a=Tarentel], providing a limited-edition artwork for [r=206289] LP released by [l=En/Of]. Monk also produced [r=19915516] LP, which carries no grooves and only has a few razorblade cuts. He contributed backing vocals to [a=Kevin Rowland]'s conceptual "pop-rock/ballad" album [m=176534], released in 1999 by [l=Creation Records]. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Boris Barere | Борис Симонович Барер (Boris S. Barer) | Boris Barere (b. 10 July 1921, Odesa, Russian Empire) is an American pianist of Russian-Jewish origins, centenarian, and son of renowned virtuoso [a=Simon Barere] (1896—1951). His current whereabouts and retirement date are unknown; some of the latest interviews date to 2015. (As of late 2023, Barere would be 102 years old.) He began learning piano at four with his parents; Barere's father, a recent graduate of [l=St. Petersburg Conservatory], served as the Kiyv Conservatory professor and had an illustrious concert career. However, the Soviet economy was disintegrating under the harsh [a=Joseph Stalin] leadership, while antisemitism grew stronger; in 1928, the Bareres family relocated to Riga in Latvia, where Simon managed to get a post of USSR Baltics & Scandinavia Cultural Ambassador (his wife's brother and Boris' uncle, cellist [a=Franz Vlashek], also resided in Riga). In 1931, his father obtained the exit visas for the family, and they relocated to Germany, where Simon accepted an offer to conduct a series of concerts in Berlin. The timing couldn't be worse as right after their arrival, the first Nazi sanctions and restrictions against Jews began; Simon's concert arrangements were canceled. Unable to secure any orchestral or academic positions, his father had to survive on odd jobs playing piano at local vaudevilles. In 1933, Boris and his family fled to Sweden, where he attended school and continued studying piano. By 1940, as [a=Adolf Hitler] embarked on the Second World War, even Scandinavia became unsafe. Thus, Boris went to the United States with his mother, where Simon Barere already settled four years prior. In 1941, Bareres moved from New York to Chicago, where Boris began his studies with [a=Sergei Tarnowsky], one of [a=Vladimir Horowitz]'s former teachers. The following year, Bareres again relocated, now renting a house in Scarsdale, New York. Twenty-year-old Boris hadn't naturalized as a US citizen yet and received a demand from the US Army to join the military draft or get deported; Barere enlisted and trained at several military bases, including Fort Riley in Kansas (where Boris founded a local church to occasionally perform music with his Army buddy, violinist [a=Arnold Belnick].) In 1943, Barere was deployed to Casablanca, Morocco, and subsequently participated in the Angio Beach invasion in Italy. (He fought alongside actor [a=Burt Lancaster (2)] (1913—1994), and they became close friends.) After WWII, Boris Barere returned to New York and studied with [a=Rosina Lhévinne] at the [l=Juilliard School]. He established a prolific stage career, primarily concentrated on chamber music, and made several albums for the [l=Cembal D'Amour] label. Barere often collaborated with such prominent musicians as flutist [a=Julius Baker] or violinists [a=David Nadien], [a=Berl Senofsky], [a=Michael Rabin], and [a=Ossy Renardy]. Boris gave several duo piano recitals with his father, [a=Simon Barere], including their performances at [l=Carnegie Hall]. (A posthumous [r=14337521] CD/DVD compilation came out in 2016, featuring most of their joint recordings and surviving video footage.) In later years, Boris Barere joined [a=George Balanchine]'s [a=New York City Ballet] company — he participated in stage productions and made studio recordings of Schumann's Symphonic Etudes and selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, among others. |

Glenn started his career in the summer of 1978 working for GTO Records, where his duties included regional radio promotion and liaising with BBC Radio 2. GTO's artist roster included Billy Ocean / Heatwave / Dana / New Musik, Giorgio Moroder, Donna Summer, and The Dooleys. In the early 80's Glenn started his own independent promotion company working with Klub Records / Monarch Records and Strike Records - dealing with London and Regional Radio/TV. Artists included The Clydesiders, Rikki, and The Tigers. The company then expanded into a record label sigining a distribuition deal with Pinnacle Records - artists included Officers & Gentlemen, and all girl trio Brazil all enjoying turntable success and healthy record sales. In 1986 Glenn was asked to become A&R Director of dance label G&M Records and enjoyed chart success with The Village People / Fatback Band / Nini, and The Hard Hats. Glenn left G&M to start a career with Fanfare Records in the early 90's, when asked by Simon Cowell to start up an international department. Chart hits soon followed with Sinitta / Yell! / Kelly Marie and Mystic. Following Simon's move to Arista/BMG Glenn continued to work within the international arena securing licensing deals for heavy US rock giants Quiet Riot - striking deals for the album 'Terrified' in Scandinavia, Spain and Brasil. While also working with soul groovers The Cool Notes, their classic soul hits 'Spend the Night' and 'In Your Car' were remixed and licensed throughout Europe where they enjoyed chart success. Glenn also secured licensing deals for Kagagoogoo star Limahl in Germany / Austria / Switzerland / Spain and the Benelux. Success with Mystic included a No.1 hit in Spain with 'Ritmo de la Noche' enjoying a staggering 69 weeks in the top 30. After the huge success of 'Ritmo' the following years saw Mystic release the hit singles 'Yo Te Quieo', 'Everybody Salsa', 'La Ola', along with the albums 'Ritmo de la Noche' and 'La Ola' that kept Mystic at the forefront of the Spanish Latino House dance scene. Mystic recorded and released 'Spirit of Ibiza' - the song captured the essence of the hot summer days, along with the passion of the even hotter summer nights with the track reaching No.3 in the Spanish Charts, and top 10 of the Portuguese Charts. With the success of 'Spirit of Ibiza' Mystic recorded 'Viva El Verano' as the follow-up which continued their chart success reaching No.1 in Brasil. It was during this time that Glenn started working with Alberto and the hugely successful Matiz Music production team in Hamburg and they enjoyed international chart success with their projects including The Allniters 'The Story of My Life' - which hit the charts in France, Spain, and Greece. Also 'The Master' by The Master reached No.1 in Italy. It was during this period that Alberto first had the idea for Freud and together Alberto & Glenn went on to license Freud's brilliant debut album 'Time Passengers' all over the World including the US, UK, Germany, Benelux, Portugal and South East Asia. Then in 2002 Glenn was asked to join leading newage label New World Music, developing their Promotion and PR departments, as well as being a key member of their A&R team. After 4 and a half years with New World Music - Glenn and old friend Alberto [a455126] decided to develop [l468257] - and today Tantajo is one of the most respected chlllout labels around, with their artists Freud and Terra del Sol being at the sharp end of their genres. While Glenn also continues to establish [l175905] as a proactive and well respected label. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Joy Peck | Adapted from the Age's obituary: Joy Peck (9 Oct 1928 - 3 Feb 2008) was one of Australia's more notable naive painters. The daughter of a craftsman, she was born in Ballarat but grew up with her sisters Val and Bernice in Warrnambool. As a child she suffered from allergies, which kept her away from school: this left her with a sense of the fragility of life, but also with a great love of it. She sang in public, danced, and later gave memorable parties. But her great love soon became painting. Peck was trained by Sir William Dargie at the National Gallery School, and her canvases soon abounded in strong colours, mists, and children and child-like faces. The critic Phillip Adams once observed: "Joy appears to live in a world without war, aggression or cruelty, where affection would be as luxuriant as foliage, where the very light would be infused with love." If earlier in life her painting had been partly in denial, as she aged it was more in a spirit of rebuttal. Peck was concerned about the injustices of the world — perhaps more so after visiting the ruins of a village in France that the Nazis had vengefully destroyed, killing everybody in it. Sometimes the darker element crept into her painting: there is a swirling, elemental terror evident in her Loch Ard series, in which she painted the famous shipwreck. And for someone so much at home in the fantastic, her portraits could be surprisingly gritty. Peck exhibited from 1960 until 1997 in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane as well as in a number of Melbourne galleries, including Realities, Manyung, and the South Yarra and Eltham galleries. Significantly, she was asked to submit work for the 1978 Biennale in Limoges. This French city, where she lived for some months, is the world centre for enamelling, a craft much more developed in the francophone world than elsewhere. Later she exhibited at another enamellists' biennale in Quebec. Lively and colourful, Peck is associated with two bohemian moments — Eltham in the 1950s and '60s, and Fitzroy from the 1970s to the '90s. In Eltham, she and her husband, Hal, were part of a circle that included Tim and Betty Burstall, Clifton Pugh and other artists. Barry Humphries had a walk-on part. Down the hill lived John and Inga Clendinnen. Many people found their way to the Pecks' ample, mud-brick house; among them was a young schoolboy, Phillip Adams. Peck was an early encourager, and he remained a lifelong friend. For the last 25 years of her life, Peck set up her easel on a cast-iron balcony overlooking Moor Street, Fitzroy. In her long dresses, picture hat and flashes of purple and green, she was often seen on the arm of her son Marcus, going out for coffee. She died of died from cancer at St Vincent's Hospital at the age of 79. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Les Bof! | After years as a musical enemy number one of the town council of Marseilles, Laurent Mombel estimated that his talents were ignored and wrongfully punished. In exile in the United Kingdom, Laurent, put himself about to find the musicians of Garage that were most endowed within their neighbourhoods - unfortunately they all were occupied and thus decided to make do with a few old tearaways met in the wild regions of Scotland - Thus Les BOF! were formed and after that, a series of concerts left them in the not very enviable situation of premier garage rockers of French language in Great Britain. ‘BOF!’ literally translates as ..don’t care!' or ..not interested!' but do not see there a group for which one would not have to be interested, but rather a group universally rejected by the established order - a situation, we are sure, you all know too well and with which you can only sympathize. Les BOF! play regularly not only in the dull cellars and dusty cafes of Edinburgh and its neighbourhoods but also abroad - try to see them whether they come in your city - or better, invite them to play in your own living room - it will not cost you the eyes teeth – Vive Les BOF! | Search | Add | 8 | The Phantom Broadcast | Phantom aims to create music that pushes the boundaries of Indie and Post Rock with the influence of Folk, Jazz, Classical, and even Metal tendencies. The results yield dynamic instrumentation where creativity and emotion are paramount in the composition of each song. Aiming to construct an architectural sonic space, the five collaborate on storytelling and presentation. Having released 3 full lengths and 2 eps, the band has grown, mutated, amputated, and grown some more with each recording. After almost 2 years of writing and recording, The Phantom Broadcast released Antiquities 11/1/19. The record’s themes explored on the double EP, now a full length, deal with the challenges of maintaining good mental health, the anxiety coupled with living and thriving in a large city like Chicago, and hardships of the mundane. Thanks to an incredible amount of support via Kickstarter, the record was pressed to vinyl and is available in all online streaming platforms, at shows, and in record stores throughout Chicago. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Romark | Ronald Markham | Romark was born on July 31, 1926 in England as Ronald Markham. Romark was a fascinating hypno-therapist and in 1971 he allegedly hypnotised an audience of smokers and 1000 of them gave up smoking. Among some of his more colourful encounters is the curse he reputedly placed on the Crystal Palace football team and an attempt to hypnotise Muhummad Ali into losing to Yorkshire boxer Richard Dunn in 1976. He is reputedly the first man to "die'" on stage by hanging for nearly four minutes before bringing himself to life again. He holds five records in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest-running one-man show. Romark is also infamous for attempting to prove his psychic powers by driving a car blindfolded which resulted in a collision with a police car. He was also an actor, appearing in Mannix (1967), Flip (1970) and The Merv Griffin Show (1962). Romark died of a stroke in December 1982 in Torbay, Devon, England, not long after being released from prison where he served a 4 and a half month stretch for embezzling cash from his mother while she was ill in hospital. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Goodbye Lisbon | Jorge Alves | Goodbye Lisbon was created by Jorge Alves, a portuguese musician who has been making and producing electronic music for almost two decades. He started as a DJ in high school in the 90’s and ended up working as a professional DJ in reputed discos in Madeira, such as Bacará. His love and burning passion for electronic music started then! The music styles of House, Techno, Trance and Break Beat were always on his turntables every night. He moved to Lisbon, in order to attend University, but his heart was beating music, so he started his own project called "Download" and soon was considered one of the best newcomers on electronic music in the year 2000 by ProMusica Magazine. This brought him the chance of having a track of the project “Download” launched in a compilation CD of musics from the best portuguese upcoming DJs. Through the years, Jorge Alves has collaborated with other musicians successfully, including with a portuguese band who launched a CD in Portugal, playing the role of the main keyboard player and producer. In 2003, another adventure started when he moved to Belgium and got closer to the international electronic music scene. He launched Goodbye Lisbon as a tribute to his adventures in Lisbon’s nightlife. Currently, Jorge Alves is still working in his area of studies, but in parallel still produces electronic music as it is his major passion. |
