Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Sylvain Poitras | Sylvain Poitras | A philosopher by training, Sylvain Poitras explores circularity and self-reference in the fields of video, comics and electroacoustic music: that he uses images, words or sounds, he seeks, primarily, to blur the boundaries between the object and its designation. Software designer and trombonist, it was only natural that he invented the "meta-trombone", a sophisticated processing system which curiously leads him on a path to the origins of free jazz. From his roots as a big band trombonist, Sylvain has evolved into an experimental musician by combining his love of the trombone and his natural aptitude for computer programming. Sylvain has had an interest in comic books since childhood. After taking a few courses at l'Université du Québec en Outaouais, Sylvain's amateur efforts have found publication. His current project stretches his skills in a number of new areas including: puppet-making, miniature set building and photography. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Nebes | Nebojsa Simic | It was the first visit to the legendary Belgrade underground club Industria that did it for Nebes. Clearly hypnotised by the power of the music, the sub bass and the people he partied with, he left the club that night with only one intention on his mind – to become the part of the dance music world. At only 14 Nebes was already vinyl hunting and promoting the latest electronic music with the group of his closest mates. He also had a regular Sunday slot, on the local FM radio. As the popularity of the show grew, his keen sense for fresh music and dj-ing talent have led him straight out of the radio studio and onto the local clubs dancefloors. He recalls those first parties as full of positive energy, enthusiasm and true love for music. Consequently in the 1999 Nebes started an organisation ‘Reactor’ with his best mate Spok (no he didn’t have pointy ears…), and from than on the local scene has truly started to flourish and the major party line ups have been graced by the biggest names of Serbian club scene at the time, such as Marko Nastic, Dejan Milicevic, Milosh Pavlovic to name a few. As Reactor ‘lived long and prospered’ the parties kept growing and in 2001 Nebes kicks off the famous ‘Good Mood Explosion’ party series in the ancient Smederevo fortress bringing over the top crop of Serbian and Europian DJ’s. As a techno DJ at that time, Nebes has had a chance to play alongside the likes of Billy Nasty, Brenda Russell, Hardcell, Johan Bacto, Asem Shama, Vlad Sokolov. His love of musical hardware and technology has inevitably led him to start using such equipment in his sets and very quickly in his production too. His production has always had the characteristics of a minimal approach. ‘Less is more’ has always had ‘more inspiration for him’ as Nebes states himself. After couple of years of a studio lock up, his hard work has been recognised and fully supported by a German minimal techno label Limikola and it’s boss Heron. Limikola has already enjoyed a full support by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Cari Lekebusch, Damon Wild, Troy Pierce, Paco Osuna.. January 2009 sees the release of Nebeses debut Fliction EP which immediately ended up in top 100 downloads on Beatport. His sound has now matured and has been described as a characteristic style of modulated bass lines combined with precise drum section, synthesized percussions and freaky high notes. His arrangements are rich in contrasts but also just as much in singularity and harmony of the flow. Above all, Nebes has a very good sense of humour – always a good sign in a talented producer. His latest Ensampled EP has been championed by the top DJ’s around the world for some time now. Nebes says – it’s a peak time vinyl with an old school vocals and a dark and emotive journey. True. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Trans/Human | Adam Denton and Luke Twyman began collaborating under the name Trans/Human at The Audacious Art Experiment HQ in Sheffield during 2011. Employing several noise making devices and techniques in their performances, including mobile phones, radio, cassette tape, prepared electric guitar, processed drums, strobe lighting, contact microphones, field recordings and feedback systems, Trans/Human’s concerns lie within the physical act of music making and its relationship to environment and audience. Through their collaboration the duo sought to reflect their inclination towards creating ritualized sonic and visual experiences via a series of improvised performances, resulting in the cassette release, The 8 Hour Dance (2011). A further release on Blackest Rainbow, The Wider, was recorded in early 2012. Trans/Human’s improvised performances led to important collaborations with New Aktionist artists Nick Kilby and Kris Kanavan. Throughout 2012 Trans/Human have developed their performances to use the artist’s body as a conduit between noise and audience. By amplifying objects used by Kilby or Canavan during these performances, Trans/Human have added to their repository of noise making devices, bringing together performance and sound art in an innovative and engaging way. | |

For the first time the student vocal ensemble "Rosynka" appeared on the big stage on March 7, 1967 under the direction of Khrystyna Mykhailyuk, then a first-year student of the Music and Pedagogical Faculty of Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute (now Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University). The composition of the ensemble often changed due to the short student age, but "Rosynka" has always been a kind of professional women's vocal school. Having already received national, then All-Union, recognition, in 1971 the girls were invited to take part in the musical TV movie "Red Route", which the studio "Ukrtelefilm" shot by Myroslav Skochilyas shot in Yaremche ("Rosynka" was almost the most famous of all team). The beauties from Prykarpattia added a special charm with their presence and vocal style along with the same young singers and composers as they were then: amateur Levko Dutkovsky, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Valery Gromtsev, Vasyl Zinkevich, Nazariy Yaremchuk, Sofia 15 three were sung brilliantly, three brilliantly sang "Rosynka" - "Flow" by Ruslan Ishchuk to a poem by Stepan Pushyk, "Cranes fly away" by Alexander Bilash to the words of Valery Guzhva, "Where the mountains and forests" by Valery Gromtsev to the text by Nikolai Buchko. Thousands of concerts, thousands of fans, thousands of autographs, hundreds of works… In the golden fund of "Rosynka" Ukrainian folk songs, love songs, romances, works of world and modern classics. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Sander Shifter | Alexander Alexandrov / Александр Александров | Electronic project from Russia. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Charles Gorczynski | Minneapolis-based composer and producer Charles Gorczynski creates future-driven and emotionally resonant music. He is involved in contemporary chamber music, new tango, improvised music, and electronic production. His writing embraces our increasingly anti-genre new music world and freely cultivates a new sound, one with equal parts deep reverence for cultural traditions and brazen new compositional work. “A force in modern sound design…” - Jazz Times Charles is also a professional bandoneonist and saxophonist. He has worked as an instrumentalist for a decade in the jazz and improvised music circles in Chicago, and a decade working in both contemporary and traditional tango ensembles in San Francisco: spearheading projects, collaborating with like minds, and organizing 100+ performances annually. His bands Redwood Tango Ensemble and Colorlist have toured extensively, performing widely in North America and Europe. His compositions have been premiered with Chamber Music Northwest Festival and Intermusic SF, where he was twice awarded the MGP grant commissioning new work for chamber ensemble. As a producer, Charles creates free-form electronic music under the name IVYASA, cultivating a video series and collaborations. “Lovely contrapuntal melodies and kaleidoscopic harmonic explorations… gorgeous music that brings to mind the serene aesthetic of ECM records” - Chicago Reader | |

Организатор и художественный руководитель: [a3815478] -------------------------------------- The ethnosphere project brings together outstanding musicians, composers, and folklorists whose work is connected with the ethnic culture of the peoples of Russia. This is not just a Union of famous creative personalities, but a rapidly developing cultural movement that aims to attract the attention of professional musicians, creative youth and all those who care about the fate of Russian culture to the problem of preserving and developing the Russian tradition in new forms of modern music. The genre palette of the project "ethnosphere" is extremely diverse: from acoustic solo instruments, bells and old Russian choral singing to jazz, fusion, pop and electronic compositions. The composition of virtuoso musicians performing within the project is no less diverse. | |

A musician at the base, he was spotted in Brazzaville by the leader of an Ivorian musical group. Who will offer him the Ivorian adventure. Once in Côte d'Ivoire, his adopted country, he spent two years in an orchestra group in the capital, which unfortunately fizzled out. In search of a base, the artist will put his talent as an ambiancer to good use. He is disc jockeys in a giant maquis at Rue Princesse. And drags his bump in the middle cut shift. He therefore did not remain insensitive to the new musical deal that prevailed in Côte d'Ivoire from 202. It was in this vein that he released his successful title "Décaler dans la paix", which earned him the recognition of the Ivorian public. |

| Search | Add | 3 | Liam Gowing | The “fifth of four” kids born in Dallas, Texas to an ex-Army paratrooper father who blew out his eardrums during the Korean War and an opera singer mother with an excruciatingly accurate sense of pitch, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liam Gowing definitely took after the latter parent when it came to making music. After teaching himself to play piano and guitar by ear at the age of 10, the precocious youngster started a cover band in the seventh grade with childhood friend Bob Musso, recorded a group album of original songs at the age of 17, and composed a rock opera before graduating high school. Passing up an opportunity to attend Stanford University on scholarship, Gowing enrolled at UCLA partly to be closer to the record labels and recording studios of Los Angeles, where he would gig occasionally with college bandmates, Matt Kropp and Chris Varosy. Upon graduating magna cum laude, he next weighed an invitation to attend the Top-5 University of Chicago Law School but instead decided to backpack around the world with his trusty $100 Epiphone acoustic. Inspired to write a slew of new songs after meeting the Dalai Lama and seeing Mount Everest on the trip, Gowing returned to LA determined to land a record deal. To that end, he began recording a 4-song demo ironically entitled “The Best Thing that Never Happened to Me.” The weekend he finished the project, however, he received the news that his mother had just been diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. Thoroughly dejected, Gowing found shopping the demo during her 6-month illness to be a fool’s errand. And after another year or so of half-hearted solo acoustic shows followed by a stint as lead guitarist in a friend‘s “progadelic” jam band, he virtually hung up his guitar and concentrated instead on a burgeoning career in journalism. Writing variously for the LA Weekly, Filter, Paste, the N.M.E. and SPIN Magazine, which nominated his lengthy expose on the death of Elliott Smith for a 2005 ASME “Ellie” Award in Best Profile Writing, Gowing eventually became a city editor for the A.V. Club and thereafter a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times where he penned the notable recreation-and-adventure column, “Action Man,” and finally co-wrote and shopped a feature film script about one of the installments. In 2011, however, a chance encounter with fellow Bruin Jerry “Mr.” Pao, a turntablist in the hip-hop group 1000 Clowns, provided Gowing with an impetus to make music again. Pao, who needed “a place to crash” for a few months, offered to engineer a series of recording sessions in lieu of paying rent. Smitten, Gowing took the bait and after borrowing a bass and purloining a drum kit to complete his ramshackle “Purdizzy” home studio, became his own one-man-band. With Pao patiently overseeing the proceedings, Gowing painstakingly overdubbed guitar, bass, drums, piano, harmonica, tambourine, recorder and castanets, plus—through the magic of a MIDI keyboard—synth, organ, Rhodes, glockenspiel, steelpan, woodwinds, strings and horns to create the backing tracks to 10 new songs. After adding both lead and three- and four-part harmony vocals, Gowing collected the results in 2013 and issued them in the form of his debut solo album, Drunk Sluts Forever, mixed by yet another UCLA alumnus, guitarist Bill O’Neil. With O’Neil’s help, Gowing put together a backing band committed to playing a handful of live shows in advance of the album release party, which was a pleasant success. And yet, although the album garnered some positive reviews, culminating in KCSN program director Marc “Mookie” Kaczor declaring it to be “an instant indie rock classic,” Gowing’s efforts were hardly remunerative. With various DJs citing the “offensive” name of the album—undoubtedly unaware that the title track was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to a female friend who designed a line of T-shirts by the same name—Gowing’s efforts to expand the reach of the music via radio promotion fell flat. And unable to bankroll a longer-term supporting band on tour, he returned to freelance writing and began teaching the LSAT. Inspired by another female friend, Kim Huynh—a practicing Buddhist who, after declaring 2017 to be the year of her [metaphysical] death, decided to accomplish everything on her bucket list then and there—Gowing subsequently decided he needed to record the songs he’d written in the late 90s and early aughts in the aftermath of his mother’s death and the tragic suicide of his roommate, Josh McGinn. Doubling down on the concept, he decided to make it a double album with a second collection of more recent and “less haunted” material—all the best songs he hadn’t yet recorded. And thus, Mother Lode was born. Envisioning a number of epic productions with yet more strings, horns and “little symphonic movements” in some of the tracks, Gowing recognized that he needed to maroon himself somewhere remote, while taking a solemn vow not to return home until the project was complete. Impressed by his friend Liam Litchfield’s adventures teaching English in Beijing, he decided to move to Shanghai, China in the fall of 2017 to teach English Lit at “the MIT of the East,” Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Devoting his summer and winter breaks to arranging and recording over the following five years, Gowing completed 27 tracks in all. And returning to the USA in the summer of 2022, he asked a close friend who was uniquely qualified–Jon Griffin of LunaZen Studios–to mix 24 of the songs for inclusion on the release. Out on Gowing’s own imprint MojoSon, Mother Lode will be released through CDBaby — with digital distribution to iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Napster and more — on November 15, 2022. | |

| Search | Add | 3 | Jan Des Bouvrie | Jan des Bouvrie (born August 3, 1942 in Naarden) is a famous Dutch architect, interior & product designer. His own vision on design was developed at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he started his professional career. With his unique and progressive ideas the young Des Bouvrie has made a huge impact on the design world. His vision was further developed by working with several manufacturers, including Linteloo, Dutch Originals and Gelderland. The latter, in 1969, was the first to produce a design of Des Bouvrie's; the kubusbank sofa, which is now recognised as a design classic. The Shell collection has been specifically created for FueraDentro by Jan des Bouvrie, and is the first time that he has designed a collection of outdoor furniture (up until this time, he had designed lighting, wallpaper, window decorations and furniture). In 1993 Des Bouvrie moved his design studio to Bussum Naarden-Vesting. Together with his partner, Monique, he transformed the iconic 'Het Arsenaal' building into a leading interior design institute of unprecedented influence in the field of interior architecture and product development. Des Bouvrie not only creates furniture with attractive looks; his design ethos ensures that they are very comfortable too. Over the years, Jan des Bouvrie's designs have won many awards and distinctions, including the Culture Prize of 1974, the Style Prize in 1990 and the Furniture Prize in 1999. Des Bouvrie's vision is also clearly reflected in the numerous interior design books he has published. Jan des Bouvrie is also active as a distinguished lecturer at various design academies, as well as having design college being named after him (Jan des Bouvrie Academy, based in Deventer). | |

| Search | Add | 3 | The Val-Aires | Members: Bill Burkette (Lead Baritone) Don Miller (Baritone) Hugh Geyer (First Tenor) Chuck Blasko (Second Tenor) Neil Foster The story began in 1958 at Turtle Creek High School. There were at least four different vocal harmony groups in school, whose members would sing at assemblies or on the street corner. Two groups joined forces - three fellows came from one group, two fellows from the other group. From one group came Burkette, first tenor Hugh Geyer and bass vocal Don Miller. The other group consisted of second tenor Chuck Blasko and another vocalist, Neil Foster. After rehearsing and getting their vocal harmonies to meld properly, they named themselves the Val-Aires and impressed a local producer, Elmer Willett, who later became their manager. Willett produced the Val-Aires' first release, "Which One Will It Be / Laurie My Love" (Willett 114), and it sold enough copies in Allegheny County that in Coral Records picked it up for national distribution (Coral 62177). 'Which One Will It Be' was just a regional hit, but The Val-Aires then picked up a supporter when the top rock and roll DJ in Pittsburgh, Porky Chedwick, added the group to the rock and roll shows and record hops that his station promoted. After high school, a couple of the guys got drafted and went into the service, then came out of the service and we got back together again. they did shows with the Drifters, the Platters, the Dells, groups like that when they came into town. Before the Val-Aires could have another hit, Hugh Geyer and Don Miller joined the Army, while the other band members went to college or found jobs in the factories surrounding Turtle Creek. A few years later, the five friends decided to record again. Bill Burkette, Don Miller, Hugh Geyer and Chuck Blasko became the Vogues. | |
