Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Slash Records This profile is purely for releases receiving artistic credits on releases such as "recorded by". For the label, please use [l15584]. For all company credits, please use [l2831]. Slash Records is often credited for copyright on records released by [l=Slash], founded in 1978 in Los Angeles, California by [a2235159]. The label originally focused on local punk bands, and was distributed through JEM until 1981, after which Slash signed a distribution deal with [l=Warner Bros. Records]. The label was acquired by [l=London Records] in 1996, while Warner kept most of the artist roster and catalog, and the office was relocated to New York. Universal bought PolyGram (London's owner) in 1998, and in 2000, Slash Records was closed. When London's president Roger Ames moved to Warner, he retained the rights to both names, London and Slash. In 2003, Ames re-licensed the name back to Biggs, who then relaunched the label with Will Fulton.

To further specialize in his art, he attended the “Gomidas” state conservatory of Yerevan/Armenia where he studied under the guidance of professor, Arshavir Garabedian. During this period, Jangeozian gave several concerts where he was so highly regarded by the great armenian composers and musicians, that they offered their works to Jangeozian for his use. At this time he also completed a number of recordings, TV shows and interviews in Armenia. His repertoir consists of many great Armenian and European classical composers’ and musicians’ works. Krikor Jangeozian has given many benefit concerts in Canada, United States, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Kuwait. The proceeds of these concerts have all been donated to charitable purposes. He has also performed at various community special events as a guest artist. In 2006, in appreciation of his long and successful career and his generosity of giving numerous benefit concerts, he was awarded with two prestigeous gold medals. Search Add 2 Orchestra IN-stabile DIS/accordo The Orchestra In-stabile Dis/Accordo [O.I.D.] was founded by Luca Lo Bianco and Francesco Guaiana and represents one of the most significant and innovative experiences produced in Italy in recent years and is able to transport the audience into an emotional and unpredictable musical event. By using a non conventional method of directing the orchestra, which is known worldwide as ‘conduction’, and using signs, gestures and also written melodic lines, the audience can witness the music being born right there and is an active protagonist of the creative procedure. The O.I.D. stems from the expressive urgency of a new generation of improvisers, looking for a creative form crossing all languages and not necessarily falling under any label. The orchestra recorded two cd 'Live at Mikalsa Vol.1' and 'Live in Hamburg' recorded live at the prestigious 'Hamburg Jazz Tage' in Germany by Norddeutscher Rundfunk.
