Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Safe Creations With [a=Ken Moore (4)]'s activity growing on social media, he was soon in touch with some of the former IEMA members from the 1980s, including one [a=Dave Vosh], who had collaborated with Ken and [a=Chris Meyer] for a voice composition arranged by [a=John Wiggins] for Group Tape #3. Dave began sending Ken his video recordings from live performances, which included some with former-collaborator, [a=Stuart Rosenzweig], and eventually it was decided that during Ken's visits to Maryland, he and Dave could perform as a duo, calling themselves Safe Creations. Their first concert was a benefit for An Die Musik, which hired national acts in the classical and jazz field to perform there. This being a success, the following year [2013] found them doing two shows, one in Baltimore and one in Washington D.C., which had a growing interest in electronic music. With an Advance CD having been distributed at their first concert, Ken decided that [a=Safe Creations] should have a studio album, so he went to work on the first official release on Bandcamp, "Unconscious Power".

Search Add 5 Larry Briers Laurie T. Briers Early jazz and dance band pianist. Born in Newport News, Virginia, December 25, 1891. Briers likely received his first piano lessons as a kid, and later studied at some conservatory. Briers married his sweetheart Evelyn Russell Groeble on September 6 of 1913 before the 2 newlyweds moved to New York, where Larry Briers obtained employment at the Rector Cafe from the 4th Street, place where he decided to use the artistic name of Larry Briers. It was there when he met clarinet player, violinist & future alto saxophonist Joseph Samuels, who hired him for his orchestra that also played in the Rector Café. Briers did his very first recordings with Samuels's Orchestra for the US branch of Pathé (which later became Pathé Actuelle) on January of 1919, and also recorded with Samuels for Okeh, Emerson, Lyric, the Plaza group (renamed ARC), Gennett, the NYRL group (including Paramount, Puritan, etc.), Arto, Bell, Grey Gull, Edison & Federal among other labels. In addition to recording with the above mentioned Joseph Samuels's Orchestra (& his subset Synco Jazz Band (aka the Tampa Blue Jazz Band, Porter's Blue Devils (Gennett sessions from August 31 of 1923, October 11 of 1923 & November 12 of 1923) & Joseph Samuels's Jazz Band), Briers also managed to record with the Rega Orchestra for Okeh, [a1568094]'s Orchestra (both under Glantz's own name & several pseudonyms such as [a2976919], for example) for several labels, the Blue Ribbon Trio for Okeh, Harry Reser's orchestra & trio (1922 to March of 1923), the Green Brothers Novelty Band (for Edison, Gennett & Okeh among other labels), etc. Briers also accompanied the Harmonizers, Mamie Smith, Clarence Williams & many more vocalists & vocal groups, in addition to appearing on several of Joseph Samuels's violin recordings, some of Harry Reser's earliest banjo solos with piano accompaniment, etc. And if that's not enough, he composed several tunes such as "Just Suppose", "Dew Drop", "Satisfied", "Oh, Joe (Please Don't Go)", "Parson Jenks", "Page Paderewski" (co-written with his boss Joseph Samuels & legendary pianist Pete Wendling), "Fine Feathers" & of course, "Brother Low-Down", which can be considered Briers's greatest hit if we have in mind that it was recorded among others by Bert Williams for Columbia, Al Bernard for Victor, Edison & Brunswick, and of course, Joseph Samuels's (Synco) Jazz Band as the Tampa Blue Jazz Band for Okeh that also included Briers himself at the piano. By 1940, Briers was now living in Franklin, Ohio with his wife Evelyn Russell Groeble & their son James L. Briers (born on 1924). Briers is presumably dead in the period from 1960 or 1970 onwards.

Search Add 5 Browntown Looters Members: Oscar F. (D.J. Clear) Venegas Tony (Citric-T) Campos Richard S. (Skinny) Lopez Coming straight from the East Los Angeles hip-hop underground are the Brown Town Looters. The Brown Town Looters have been around for many years. The group was formed back in 1989, when the group was originally named Brown Town. The original members were Critic-T (Boyle Heights), D.J. Clear, and Shotgun (both of Montebello). In 1990, a street-smart homie known as Skinny (East Los) joined the group. In 1992, Brown Town released their first single entitled "Dope House in the Ghetto" on Explicit Records. That summer, Brown Town was performing at various clubs and car shows. That group was getting ready to release their album, since reviews of their shows were very positive. In 1993, their manager, who was also managing "Proper Dos," mismanaged Brown Town. The group decided not to retain him as their manager after backlash was felt from his management tactics. Also in 1993, Shotgun left the group, branching out on his own solo endeavors. In 1994, the group picked up a new rapper, Cash Phlow of South Central Los Angeles. 1994 also brought with it a new name, Brown Town Looters. With this new-year and new name, Brown Town Looters were coming into their own. Also in '94 they released a two-song promotional Compact Disc. The group also began to make appearance at lowrider car shows and concerts. At about the same time, the group started working on another album and were in the process of negotiating to sign with a record label. In 1995, the group met with Future Entertainment, after which, the Brown Town Looters' ads were seen in various magazines such as High Times, The Source, etc. With this new-found exposure, the group, along with Jose Lopez (Skinny's brother) of Looters Management, and Future Entertainment created Hemp Town Records. HempTown Records was created to manufacture cassette tapes and Compact Discs of Brown Town Looter's unreleased album, "Koncrete Phunk." All they needed was a distribution system for their album. Unfortunately, due to Future Entertainment's mismanagement, this never happened. After this fiasco, Citric-T and Cash Phlow joined together with D.J. Ray of "Cruising with La Raza," a cable show on Buenavision Cable in East Los Angeles. D.J. Ray asked Citric-T and Cash Phlow to host the show in East L.A. while he hosted the show in Arizona. This arrangement allowed the Brown Town Looters to gain greater exposure. At about the same time, the group met other hip-hop groups and formed a hip-hop family which as known as "Brown Town Looters Click." The "Click" consisted of Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, 2-Phattal, Explicit, and Lil' Indian. In 1996, Citric-T and Cash Phlow left the cable show and began their own cable show called "Undaground Flava." The show consisted of rap/hip-hop videos and interviews with guest from the hip-hop Industry such as Cypress Hill, W.C., Doveshack, Mellow Man Ace, and Delinquent Habits. Looter's Management was also booking shows left and right. Brown Town Looters were performing with music artists such as Cypress Hill, Ice-T, Coolio, Zapp, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, Kid Frost, and Mack 10. In August of 1996, the Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, were featured in the "Definition of Brown" compilation, a product of Latino owned Green Side Records. In 1997, Looters' Management made a deal with John Lozoya (one of the original creators of Lowrider Magazine) of Super Event Entertainment for a Mid-West tour, taking Brown Town Looters to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, promoting their new album, "Live and Learn." This new tour brought new friendships for Brown Town Looters. One such friendship with Street Smart Clothing, a company associated with Top Nation Clothing. This alliance brought Brown Town Looters a new line of Brown Town Looters clothing (gear). This association also led to a Japan Super Car Show as the headliners. In January 1998, "Definitions of Brown, Part Two" was released and again Brown Town Looters were included. BTL released their "Live and Learn" album on September 18, 1998.

Search Add 5 Concave Scream Singapore rock band Concave Scream paved the way for other homegrown bands, particularly amid the country's fledgling indie rock scene. Founded in 1994 by schoolmates Sean Lam (lead vocals, guitar) and Pann Lim (lead guitar, vocals), the band released its self-financed, self-titled debut album in 1995 and saw it catch on steadily among English-language rock listeners in Singapore, especially among critics. The growing buzz about Concave Scream led to the breakthrough success of their second album, Erratic (1997), which spawned several radio hits and elevated the band to the top of Singapore's rock scene. Three (1999) continued the band's success, but it would be a long seven years before Concave Scream returned with their fourth album, Horizons (2006), a return to-roots effort on EMI Singapore. Their fifth and final album, Soundtrack For A Book, an instrumental album that was once again self-released, would follow in 2009.

Search Add 4 Planetary Overdrive Band Members Dan Sturdevant - Guitars / Vocals Natalie Sturdevant - Bass / Vocals Russ Wallace - Keys / Vocals Jarrett Nash - Drums Hometown Louisville, Kentucky Biography Planetary Overdrive formed in March 2016 when husband and wife duo Dan and Natalie Sturdevant wanted to start a Southern Rock band to play the songs Dan had been writing for a few years. They quickly found a drummer (Cam Thomas) and started playing the Louisville club scene. The self titled EP was recorded in fall and winter of ‘16/’17 and released March 2017. It was met with positive reviews by local critics, with John King of 37 Flood remarking, ”The album plays as if Randy Bachman (from Bachman turner Overdrive) recorded an album with Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top) backed by The Donnas. Which is to say, it is a straight up party record. The first track, Party Weekend, is a testament to Planetary Overdrive's skill at rocking the party.” Shortly after the release of the EP long time friend and collaborator of the band Russ Wallace joined in with his talents on keys and vocals, rounding out the three part harmonies. In June 2018 Planetary Overdrive released their self produced album Boneyard. This album widened PO’s sound, featuring Eli Hall on pedal steel guitar, Travis Stanton on saxophone, and a number of friends lending their voices with background vocals. Boneyard received more favourable reviews, with Scott Recker of LEO saying, “The songs on Boneyard are singular, explosive moments, aimed at slicing into a time and place that is easily relatable, and capable of unlocking memories.” Jake Hellman of the Never Nervous blog declared, “Southern rock is not dead. With their latest release Boneyard, Planetary Overdrive are doing their part to carry on the top down, beer chugging, guitar fueled rock of some of the great classic rock acts like Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd. No need to reinvent the wheel here, just pick up your guitar and shred.” Another line up shift occurred shortly after the release of Boneyard with the departure of Cam Thomas on drums and the arrival of the vastly accomplished and adept Jarrett Nash, picking up the sticks. Planetary Overdrive is currently in their studio working on their next album. The band plans on rocking the party for some time to come!

She has led a retro rock band; played extensively with a world rhythm djembe drum group; and performed as a jazz vocalist for a decade. Lifelong yoga practitioner, adventurous world traveller, and award winning language and literature teacher, Bev eventually found her true genre as a Singer Songwriter, channelling her extensive experience and talents into guitar study and writing songs to inspire social conscience, connection, and compassion, performing her music at numerous benefit concerts, and releasing four albums of original material. Bev has been recognized for her community involvement and contribution to the arts with a YWCA Woman of Distinction in the Arts Award. Bev holds a Master of Education Degree with a specialty in English Literacy, a Bachelor of Education Degree in French, and a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in French, Sociology and Women's Studies. Having completed her teaching career in 2013, Bev now divides her time between travel, yoga and language study in Asia, writing, playing her guitar, and generously sharing her music at home and abroad. Bev co-produced her fourth original album released on June 17th, 2016, as well as her Sold Out CD Release Event at The Artesian on 13th in Regina on June 25th, 2016. Whether sharing originals or creative interpretations of covers, Bev Zizzy is a singer / songwriter with something to say, drawing from a lifetime of diverse and profound experiences, and a voice with which to say it well. Her smoky vocal delivery is intense, innovative, and compelling, and her heartfelt, insightful, stories memorable, engaging, and uplifting.
