These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Briers likely received his first piano lessons as a kid, and later studied at some conservatory. Briers married his sweetheart Evelyn Russell Groeble on September 6 of 1913 before the 2 newlyweds moved to New York, where Larry Briers obtained employment at the Rector Cafe from the 4th Street, place where he decided to use the artistic name of Larry Briers. It was there when he met clarinet player, violinist & future alto saxophonist Joseph Samuels, who hired him for his orchestra that also played in the Rector Café. Briers did his very first recordings with Samuels's Orchestra for the US branch of Pathé (which later became Pathé Actuelle) on January of 1919, and also recorded with Samuels for Okeh, Emerson, Lyric, the Plaza group (renamed ARC), Gennett, the NYRL group (including Paramount, Puritan, etc.), Arto, Bell, Grey Gull, Edison & Federal among other labels. In addition to recording with the above mentioned Joseph Samuels's Orchestra (& his subset Synco Jazz Band (aka the Tampa Blue Jazz Band, Porter's Blue Devils (Gennett sessions from August 31 of 1923, October 11 of 1923 & November 12 of 1923) & Joseph Samuels's Jazz Band), Briers also managed to record with the Rega Orchestra for Okeh, [a1568094]'s Orchestra (both under Glantz's own name & several pseudonyms such as [a2976919], for example) for several labels, the Blue Ribbon Trio for Okeh, Harry Reser's orchestra & trio (1922 to March of 1923), the Green Brothers Novelty Band (for Edison, Gennett & Okeh among other labels), etc. Briers also accompanied the Harmonizers, Mamie Smith, Clarence Williams & many more vocalists & vocal groups, in addition to appearing on several of Joseph Samuels's violin recordings, some of Harry Reser's earliest banjo solos with piano accompaniment, etc. And if that's not enough, he composed several tunes such as "Just Suppose", "Dew Drop", "Satisfied", "Oh, Joe (Please Don't Go)", "Parson Jenks", "Page Paderewski" (co-written with his boss Joseph Samuels & legendary pianist Pete Wendling), "Fine Feathers" & of course, "Brother Low-Down", which can be considered Briers's greatest hit if we have in mind that it was recorded among others by Bert Williams for Columbia, Al Bernard for Victor, Edison & Brunswick, and of course, Joseph Samuels's (Synco) Jazz Band as the Tampa Blue Jazz Band for Okeh that also included Briers himself at the piano. By 1940, Briers was now living in Franklin, Ohio with his wife Evelyn Russell Groeble & their son James L. Briers (born on 1924). Briers is presumably dead in the period from 1960 or 1970 onwards. |

The debut came later that year with a music cassette with tracks such as Diesel Death, Cannibal Ball and King Overhead. The group was noted for its mixture of avant-garde rock with elements of punk, traditional jazz and performances with elements of performance. Laser Jesus toured extensively in Sweden during the years 1988–1990, including at the Hultsfredsfestivalen 1989, radio, Swedish television and also performed in international contexts such as the Arnhem Internationaal Audio Visual Experimenteel Festival (AVE) in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The band's breakthrough came in 1989 when they were first included on the compilation album Bommen Bandstand Vol 1 and then signed to City Records in Stockholm and released the album In HI-FI. The band split up in 1990 after much touring and re-formed in 1994 to record parts of the album Religion, which was later released posthumously and then shut down for good after a year. Kessell, he had a boot and shoe repair shop at the bottom of Robartes Rd. One evening he called three or four of us together and we met in his shop, and suggested forming a Choir if enough men could be got together. Each of us promised we would try and create some interest by contacting friends, and others and report to Mr. Kessell the results. Mr. Kessell arranged for a meeting at a Mr. Henwood's Cafe which was at the entrance of Robartes Rd. There were between twenty or thirty men who came; all were interested that a choir should be formed and a choir was born. A Mr. August Greenslade was the pianist/ organist. A. Best was Hon. Sec. and Mr. P. Williams was Treas. Mr.Greenslade later went to Canada, and a Mr. R. Roberts took his job as organist. The choir had thirty-six members and after a time, began to take engagements around the district at various churches. Items were from the "Male Voice Sankey Book" then after a time they included in the programme "Comrades of Hope", "Newquay Fishermen Song", "In Absence, Evening", "Pastoral" etc. Each member used to pay ld or 2d a practice for use of room and music. Practice was Sunday morning from 10.30a.m to 12a.m. Mr. D.W. Giles took over the organ after Mr. R. Roberts owing to ill health. Mr. Kessell had to give up leading the Choir, which broke un for a time. Capt. Hedley Martin reformed it and the Choir went on for a few years, and began going to various Music Festivals, the first attempt was at Delabole, and they were awarded 1st prize. Mr. Melville Coombe became organist under Capt. Martin. The Choir gave their first Radio programme under H. Martin with St. Dennis Band at Foster Hall, Bodmin; it was called "St. Dennis Night". The 1939/1945, war came and the Choir broke up as members were called away. Mr. Stanley Treloar restarted the Choir after the war, he in turn, handed the Choir to his son Harold, Margaret Treloar was pianist. Under Harold the Choir again went on Radio and T.V. Harold went to Canada for a number of years. During his absence, the Choir had various Mus. Directors, among them Mr. A. E. Baker. Under him the Choir won at different Festivals, won the championship of West of England twice at Bournemouth. When he left the county a Mr. Harrison took over, then Mr. R. Polmounter, then Mr. L. Stanaway, Harold came home again and took the Choir and he is the present Musical Director. The Choir has become very popular, numerous concerts are given in the County and outside. Most members are drawn from outside of the village now. In 1975 the Choir made a record "in The Male Voice Mood" with guest soloist Jean Camps (contralto). Already over 3,006 copies have been sold. For the first time the student vocal ensemble "Rosynka" appeared on the big stage on March 7, 1967 under the direction of Khrystyna Mykhailyuk, then a first-year student of the Music and Pedagogical Faculty of Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute (now Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University). The composition of the ensemble often changed due to the short student age, but "Rosynka" has always been a kind of professional women's vocal school. Having already received national, then All-Union, recognition, in 1971 the girls were invited to take part in the musical TV movie "Red Route", which the studio "Ukrtelefilm" shot by Myroslav Skochilyas shot in Yaremche ("Rosynka" was almost the most famous of all team). The Wendel Jr's drum sounds are 16 bit sounds sampled at 50 kHz, recorded with no equalization on a 3M Digital Mastering System and then digitally transferred through a special interface, into the EPROM's that are in the Wendel Jr. cartridges being used for playback. The sounds recorded in the Wendel Jr. are not chopped off at the end. The natural decay is totally preserved in the memory chips, therefore providing extremely natural sounding sounds. "Think of Wendel Jr's output as a good mic in the right place of a good sounding drum. The phrase 'Realer than real' comes to mind, but I promised that I would not use it in this manual" is how Roger Nichols describes the Wendel Jr. in the manual. |

He rarely sings on any of his own work, and usually employs session singers to lay vocals down on the music he writes that does contain lyrics. His catalogue contains a mix of instrumentals and songs that contain vocals, ranging in many different styles and moods. Some of his work is commercially available with the various studio projects that he has released. He does collaborate with lyricists from time to time, and has even collaborated with other musicians to write instrumental arrangements for artists who are looking for songs. They participate in today’s global art scene with inter-disciplinary productions of baroque, new music, electro-acoustic, modern dance, conceptual performance and experimental music theater. In 2018 Musica Sequenza celebrated its 10th anniversary by performing milestones of their repertoire such as “Silent Cantata” (2012) and “Sampling Baroque” (2015). For the anniversary they premiered a new Bach production “Atlas Passion” in co-production with Stadttheater Schaffhausen Switzerland. They also performed their signature programs at venues, such as Radialsystem V, International Bach Festival Schaffhausen, Borusan Culture & Art Foundation and Berghain. Musica Sequenza collaborates with Sasha Waltz, Rolando Villazon, Larisa Navojec and Van Rivers. Since it’s founding the ensemble has performed at Konzerthaus Berlin, Istanbul Music Festival, Händel Festspiele Halle, Oranjewoud Festival Netherlands, Thüringer Bach Wochen, Bach Akademie Stuttgart, Alice Tully Hall, Club Sisyphos, Wagenhallen, Kammgarn, Umspannwerk and the Berlin Biennale. Commissioned by the Grand Palais Museum Paris in 2014, Musica Sequenza recorded music by Burak Özdemir and Spanish baroque composers for the “Diego Velazquez” world tour exhibition. The work was curated and filmed by Karim Ainouz, which later became an international DVD release on Arte Edition. Burak Özdemir & Musica Sequenza collaborated with Sasha Waltz & Guests on diverse projects including “Dialoge” at Festival d’Avignon and the open exchange platform “Zuhören” at Radial System V in Berlin. Salome (pronounced Sah-loam) Bey (not to be confused with a female singer of the same name from the Bey Sisters), Ike Smith, Melvin Wright, Heywood Royster, and John “Buck” McLaughlin formed the Daytons, named after a popular style of shoe, when they were attending Barrett Junior High School. They debuted on the local Norgolde imprint (best known for the Revels’ “Midnight Stroll”) in 1959 with the doo-wop ballad “King Of Broken Hearts” and a rocking “Friday Better Come.” They pared it down to Salome, Melvin, and Ike when they cut “He’s A Bum” and “Hi Diddle Diddle” for producers John Madara and David White in the autumn of 1964 as the Three Jokers. The single was issued on Mercury before year’s end. The Three Strangers name came when the trio hooked up with producers Leroy Lovett and Frank Bendinelli to release a very Impressions-influenced ballad, “I’ll Be Alright,” and “Little Boy Blue” (both co-penned by Huff) in early ’66 on ABC-Paramount. Gamble and Huff wrote and produced a delightful throwback for the trio at Frantic, Arctic's subsidiary label. Bey moved to Chester, Pennsylvania in ’71, and in 1976 launched the Eastern Standard Band, which performed on the casino circuit for decades. Versatility remained his motto until his passing a few years ago. “In recent years, he was in a reggae-based group, and then after that he was doing Nat King Cole tribute show,” according to Philly guitarist Bobby Eli. | |
