Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Michael Salmony | michael salmony | At the age of 15, Michael released his first single and within a year he released his second single, after which he had difficulty standing on stage and chose to stop his career as a performing artist and devoted himself to his apprenticeship. During the time he was a teenager and current as an artist, he traveled around and was part of a concert caravan where several of the artists of the time performed around Denmark. In Michael's family scrapbook, there are several clippings of him performing with release dates... as well as photos with the latest shots of the time. The most interesting thing is that he was photographed with Willy Norman, Bjørn Tidmand (Michael Salmony), Klaus Pagh, Ulla Darni and Lise Lotte Bendtsen in 1961 at the age of 15. During his short time as a performing artist, he actually gained a small fan base based in Mors, as can be seen from the scrapbook. Michael Salmony is ½ Faroese (mother) and ½ Danish (father) . from his life partner whom he married I received this .. After finishing his waiter's training he traveled to Germany for 1 year as a waiter. Then he went to London for a year in 1964 where he worked at the fine hotel Claridges and took piano lessons in his spare time. I met Michael in London in 1964, when I was with my friend who knew Michael. Our friends were au pair girls. When we came home to Denmark we became lovers and Michael wanted to study German and English. He started with high school, then high school and then university. He graduated with a cand mag in German and English, which he loved. He loved working with young people. When he couldn't get a permanent job because of the number of high school teachers, he settled on IT, which he spent many years doing in large companies, where he loved teaching. Michael spent all his spare time on music. Piano, guitar, clarinet, ukulele, yes everything. He worked until he was 69 years old. While he was studying at the University of Copenhagen, he taught German, English and guitar at night school. Music was his life. When Michael ended up in hospice, they had hired a music teacher. Michael and him became close and he was shocked by everything Michael knew about music, he played for Michael every day, so he heard music until the end. He enjoyed when our daughter and granddaughter played the piano at the hospice. Music can do so much. Michael died on 3.3.2018 |

| Search | Add | 4 | Kowari | Two years after their first album"Trail" and a fifty-date European tour, the Belgian duo Kowari will be back with a new album in 2024. With this second record, Damien Chierici (violin, programming) and Louan Kempenaers (piano, programming) create a modern electronica ode to travelling and letting go. Downtempo and essentially instrumental on "Trail", on this album Kowari's universe is enriched by epic backing vocals, hypnotic organic drums, intoxicating loops and stronger electro beats. "The Kowari DNA we imprinted on 'Trail' is still there," explain Damien and Louan. "The piano, the violin, the search for melodic power in the compositions, the drive of the loops, the soothing moments that herald flights that are more evocative of cinema... But there was also a desire to add organic warmth and go even further in the use of electro elements. In concerts, people cry on some tracks and dance on others. That's exactly what we're looking for." | |

Tom on toiminut varsinaisen leipätyönsä ohella trubaduurina vuodesta 1964 lähtien, jolloin hän voitti Turun ruotsinkielisen "Ponnahdus pinnalle" -laulelmakilpailun. Vuonna 1965 Tomin laulelma Natthamn - Yösatama sijoittui kolmanneksi kilpailussa, jossa Tove Janssonin ja Erna Tauron kappale Höstvisa sai toisen palkinnon. Vuonna 1979 hän voitti Siipyyn laulelmakilpailun laululla Någon nynnar en vals ja 1989 Kotkan meripäivien merimieslaulukilvan laululla Yöpurjehdus. Tom Gardberg on julkaissut kaksi LP-levyä ja vuonna 2002 tupla-CD:n, joka sisältää jokseenkin koko hänen siihenastisen tuotantonsa. Sama materiaali on julkaistu nuottivihkosena Schildts -kustantamon toimesta. "Laulelmantekijänä Tom Gardberg edustaa yli neljän vuosikymmenen kattavalla tuotannollaan trubaduuriperinteen absoluuttista kärkeä. Hänen laulujensa taustalta kuultaa menneitten vuosikymmenten kotimusisoinnin perinne". Gardbergin aihepiiri liikkuu meren, saariston, perheen ja suurten eksistentiaalisten kysymysten ympärillä." | Search | Add | 4 | Devino Fortunato | US Gangsta Rap artist from San Joe, CA. Devino Fortunato was an Oakland-area rapper who burst onto the scene with 2002's Cognac Loungin' for the upstart Bay Area label Real Smooth. While his work as an EMT kept him busy by day, by night it was the G-funk world of liquor, cars, women, and hustling. It was the latter that informed the content of his debut, an independent album that nevertheless boasted high-quality West Coast-style production and Fortunato's own boast-filled flow, which at times suggested the unadorned honesty of 2Pac. After his spectacular debut, Fortunato appeared at numerous Real Smooth events with labelmates Xeno and Tazz.

| Search | Add | 4 | The Swamp Salad | Dave Donovan began his career in NZ playing alongside Mike Perjanik in several popular local acts before moving to Sydney in the late 60's. As an in demand session guitarist during the 70's he played with the cream of Australia's entertainment world including John Farnham, Don Lane and Marty Rhone. He appeared on more than 200 albums and played on over 8000 commercial jingles. In 1971 he stepped out on his own cutting the album On The Country Line as Swamp Salad, putting together prolific sessionmen plus vocalist Christine Barnett. This may well have been intended as a country/rock cash-in, however, the final result was nothing of the kind. Covers of ‘Witchita Lineman’ and ‘Ode To Billy Joe’ fit the ‘country’ tag well enough, but much of the rest is bluesy underground rock jamming covered in fuzz guitar and owing a heavy debt to Jimi Hendrix. The album is known with two different covers: one with a black-and-white band photograph and the other with a much more attractive full-colour psychedelic painting. | |

On weekends they would gather to drink beers inside a broken down 1982 GMC Caballero with a copy of Back From The Grave stuck in the car’s cassette player. Instantly being drawn to the trashy sounds of those pimple-faced mid-60s punks, they figured they could write a song half as good as any of them. And that’s just what they did! Using instruments they, quite literally, found in the trash, the band has managed to write a handful of deranged “songs” that will leave you asking yourself “What is that smell?” and “Dear god, can they just stop playing!?”

Around the guitar and the voice, emerges a sound that can evoke the light of the great outdoors as the urban darkness. Vesper Land is also a field of sound experimentation, throughout meetings with musicians from various musical genres. In 2018 is planned the release of the next album devoted to the poems of William Butler Yeats. Recorded alone, this slowly developed piece is the harvest of a long solitary work. It highlights some of the author’s poems in the final part of his career, taking an uncompromising look at life. « What can be explained is not poetry » W. B. Yeats

| Search | Add | 4 | Warwick Blair | In the late 1980s, having barely begun what is now a 20-year career, Composer Warwick Blair was already being described as one of New Zealand’s most original musical thinkers (NZ Herald) and the enfant terrible of New Zealand Music (NZ Listener). His first trip to Europe in 1987 was to perform at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival with legendary Greek polymath Iannis Xenakis using UPIC, an early electronic music system. In 1990 his Aotea Centre-opening orchestral performance The Good Seeds Are So Small, performed by the APO and broadcast by Radio New Zealand, was proclaimed concert of the year by seminal music magazine Rip It Up. Having received an AGC Young Achievers Award in 1989, Blair moved to the Netherlands where he studied electronic music and classical composition with Louis Andriessen, and earned a NUFFIC scholarship from the Dutch Government. In 1991 Blair moved from Den Haag to London. Inspired by 4AD groups Dead Can Dance (featuring Lisa Gerrard) and This Mortal Coil, he began diversifying into the wider realms of pop music and formed the band Glory Box. Blair has given concerts in the UK and Europe, including London’s prestigious South Bank Centre in 1994. His recording career includes material for Phonogram Records (Glory Box, 1995) as well as orchestral arrangements for ambient techno terrorist Scanner (1997) and the group Mandalay (V2 Records, 1998) a role that saw him working alongside Madonna/Bjork producer Guy Sigsworth. Reviews have appeared in The Times, NME, Wired and GQ, with radio support coming from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, to name a few. Blair has composed soundtracks and sound design for Gordons Gin, Mastercard, Sky TV and NZ Navy TVCs, as well as working on the film Stargate, the Nintendo game Cartoon Academy, and multimedia presentations for Signpost and Australian Fashion Week for Karen Walker. Returning to New Zealand in the late 90s, Blair spent a few years lecturing at the University of Auckland, where originally he earned his Masters degree in Music (MMus – 1st class, 1987). With 15 years first-hand research into pop culture behind (and presumably still in front of) him, Blair felt compelled to write Accordion, rediscovering the territory that had captivated him in the late 80s, an amalgamation of contemporary classical music with elements of electronic pop culture. Blair’s work Stars, a 24 hour work for Indian female singer and electronic music backing with 6 screen video projection of the heavens (ie. broadly speaking 12 hours of daytime clouds and 12 hours of nighttime stars), has received unanimous praise for its emotional power and structural thought. | |
