Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Mattew Lee Matteo Orizi Matthew Lee, a rock’n’roll singer and pianist from Italy, was born in Pesaro on January 6 1982. At 11, he started attending the Conservatoire in Pesaro, his hometown. He immediately learned the piano techniques, by playing classical music. Three times he was invited to the famous Italian TV show “Domenica In…” which was immediately followed by more TV. Meanwhile the press has defined him as the “genius in Jerry Lee Lewis' wake” Matthew started touring the most famous Italian clubs, including The Place in Rome, Le Scimmie in Milan, Barfly in Ancona, Naima in Forlì. During summer 2005, he was invited to a number of important festivals, including San Severino Marche Blues Festival, which he opened in front of 1500 enthusiastic people, and the Summer Jamboree festival in Senigallia. At the end of 2005, Matthew performed in Rome, during New Year's Feast, with 150,000 participants. In November 2006, Matthew Lee released his first album “[r=9458218]”, produced by the Italian group [a643509]. The album was also recorded in their studios. The artistic director of this album was the Nomadi's guitar player [a1322960], who also recorded some guitar's tracks. In December 2006, [a229326], who has always appreciated his art, invited him to perform at Motor Show in Bologna, in the "Myths of music" stand. During summer 2007, Matthew was invited by many important Italian blues festivals, including Soul Island festival, Brindisi blues festival, Subiaco Blues festival, Lodi Blues festival and Tropea blues festival. Search Add 4 Aggressa AggressA Aggressa , it all started around 85 when craig met adam thru a friend , adam was drumming and singing in a band called black mamba , after a coupla months jamming we decided to change we name to Aggressa and get a new vocalist .. enter darren , this was mid 86 , with this line up aggressa recorded 2 demos 2 demo's first demo was a 4 track demo recorded in kogarah in 1986 that went well with many copies sold ok and interest from various countries thru the underground tape trading scene , in 1987 Aggressa recorded 1 song for a unreleased central coast compilation album that was never released ...for the first time those tracks are here on vinyl ..there was also a recording done on a crap 4 track recorder that was known as the chook shed demos..as it was recorded in a chook shed !! though the quality sounded like a chook getting run over it was never released an never will be .... ......then members started to depart first russel predabon left to go fly helicopters in came Russell patchet we done a few shows at various venues all through out sydney ,,,,, then with musical differences john left the band , adam left not long after to form Frozen Doberman ,So we got sloth a mate who was drumming in sadistik execution and carl and this is the line up that recorded the nuclear death lp. Nuclear death was recorded at the loft studio in sydney in 87 then released in 1988 though no official release with a label was ever done.. AGGRESSA played many gigs all over the place venues including sutherland , st james tavern , petersham , the teachers club , seven hills inn plus many more that my brain has trouble remembering including winning the wagon wheels band competition in 1988 , After a dreaded trip to melbourne where Metallica qued up to see us.. carl wog name left the band to run away with his goth like homo's painting his nails black and his skin white ..... Aggressa never officially broke up in fact Aggressa re-formed in 2009 for a 1 off show with original members hitting the stage for the first time in over 20 years .. now here i am writing this bio for a re-release ... it blows my mind that we still live on in the underground scene ... horns up \m/ craig martin contact info craig martin c/o chillingham store chillingham n.s.w 2484 australia

South Side Posse returned in 2000 with "Anticipation Of Death". This album is dedicated to the late D-Man. It's another banger, featuring Brotha Lynch Hung & Loki from Sac-Town and E-Skool & Dun Deala from the Veteran Click. Search Add 4 Warwick Blair In the late 1980s, having barely begun what is now a 20-year career, Composer Warwick Blair was already being described as one of New Zealand’s most original musical thinkers (NZ Herald) and the enfant terrible of New Zealand Music (NZ Listener). His first trip to Europe in 1987 was to perform at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival with legendary Greek polymath Iannis Xenakis using UPIC, an early electronic music system. In 1990 his Aotea Centre-opening orchestral performance The Good Seeds Are So Small, performed by the APO and broadcast by Radio New Zealand, was proclaimed concert of the year by seminal music magazine Rip It Up. Having received an AGC Young Achievers Award in 1989, Blair moved to the Netherlands where he studied electronic music and classical composition with Louis Andriessen, and earned a NUFFIC scholarship from the Dutch Government. In 1991 Blair moved from Den Haag to London. Inspired by 4AD groups Dead Can Dance (featuring Lisa Gerrard) and This Mortal Coil, he began diversifying into the wider realms of pop music and formed the band Glory Box. Blair has given concerts in the UK and Europe, including London’s prestigious South Bank Centre in 1994. His recording career includes material for Phonogram Records (Glory Box, 1995) as well as orchestral arrangements for ambient techno terrorist Scanner (1997) and the group Mandalay (V2 Records, 1998) a role that saw him working alongside Madonna/Bjork producer Guy Sigsworth. Reviews have appeared in The Times, NME, Wired and GQ, with radio support coming from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, to name a few. Blair has composed soundtracks and sound design for Gordons Gin, Mastercard, Sky TV and NZ Navy TVCs, as well as working on the film Stargate, the Nintendo game Cartoon Academy, and multimedia presentations for Signpost and Australian Fashion Week for Karen Walker. Returning to New Zealand in the late 90s, Blair spent a few years lecturing at the University of Auckland, where originally he earned his Masters degree in Music (MMus – 1st class, 1987). With 15 years first-hand research into pop culture behind (and presumably still in front of) him, Blair felt compelled to write Accordion, rediscovering the territory that had captivated him in the late 80s, an amalgamation of contemporary classical music with elements of electronic pop culture. Blair’s work Stars, a 24 hour work for Indian female singer and electronic music backing with 6 screen video projection of the heavens (ie. broadly speaking 12 hours of daytime clouds and 12 hours of nighttime stars), has received unanimous praise for its emotional power and structural thought.

Search Add 4 Bobby Meader Music Bobby Meader Music was just that: the singer-songwriter output of a Las Vegas native stretched over a series of self-distributed releases. The bold attempt to expand a thin, acoustic-based sound into something more substantial almost never materialized. “We didn’t finish the new album we were working on because the day we showed up in Fort Wayne – after touring a month to get there from Vegas after the holidays – our drummer told us he wanted to go home and he left us high and dry. And the drummer we had before that we had to kick out mid-tour in Grand Junction, Colorado because he started causing a bunch of trouble.” Whether or not the work-in-progress was named I Think I Learned the Most From You for either – or both – of the two ousted drummers is one thing. It’s another to guess that the Nevada four-piece has gained valuable experience from trudging through these issues without label or agent support. Meader has served as the madman behind this operation, but his intelligence comes through with his determination following suit. They have played such festivals as Treefort Music Fest in Boise, Launch Music Conference in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as as well as unofficial SXSW showcases in Austin. They continue to relentlessly tour for 12 months a year, with over 300 shows scheduled for 2016. “The time had come to trade in my Prius for a fifteen-passenger Econoline and ask buddies to play and tour with me.”

Search Add 4 Self Torture Hardcore/Death Metal band from Ankara, Turkey. Split-up in 2012. The Ankara/Turkey based Selftorture has been an island representing a bridge between the realms of hardcore and death-metal in their home country for 10 years now. Through determination and steady progress the band has managed to combine and blend their influences to suit their evolving musical direction within the two genres. Listeners are offered a thunderous sound resembling a whirling storm of aggression sweeping up and down the Eastern Coast of North America with the band’s unique elements bolting through. Their straight forward and sometimes poetic to sarcastic lyrics are aimed directly at the developing individual ready to question themselves and the surrounding others giving no voice to anything that falls under any ideology. To experience them live is an experience all its own, intensifying what they’ve already offered on record – neck breaking grinding speed to heavy low hitting breakdowns that flow back to back. As a result of their productiveness and solid performances through the years, Selftorture has earned and remained a very familiar name in Turkey’s deep extreme underground. The decision of putting together Selftorture was made in early ‘99 and by the end of year the band had enough songs to play small sets only as a project band, due to the fact that each member was already involved in other fulltime bands (ranging from thrash, hardcore, death-metal,and black-metal). However, once they played their first official show in 2000,the interest and positive feedback they received turned the band into afulltime band immediately. The band moved on to playing more club venues and festivals nationally [Rock The Nations Open Air Festival: Caliban, Cenotaph(TR), Amon Amarth, etc… / Rock Republic Open Air Fest: Slayer, In Flames, Sick Of It All,etc...] and record three releases: “Mislead” EP/2002 (Zoo Sound); “Person-A”FL/2004 (Zoo Sound); “Dead Center” FL/2006 (Anger Epidemic). 2006 was a major turning point for the group. The rhythm section parted ways leaving front man Mehmet and guitarist Cenker the responsibility to refocus and continue the band that was now their center of attention. They wrote new material while in search for new members and a record label. Early in this process close friend Semih Ornek stepped up to fill the drummer position full time. The trio started practicing and fine tuning the songs. After observing their progress at a jam session the representatives of the label Anger Epidemic Records approached the band with an offer. The band was honored by Anger’s close interest and agreed to cooperate almost immediately. Once the tracks of the 3rd legal release were finished the band approached long time friend and supporter Engin Kamarot to complete the lineup. Since then, Selftorture has continued to play shows and complete their 4th effort entitled “Tried and True”. They have not come to an agreement with a new label yet so no release has not been confirmed. The band plans to keep playing local and national shows with the intention of making some tours abroad a reality..... Recent Line Up: Mehmet Stevenson: Vocals Cenker Yılmaz: Guitars Engin Kamarot: Bass Semih Örnek: Drums

Search Add 4 Krista Green Born in Bournemouth, Dorset, Krista Green is a singer-songwriter who has been performing for over twelve years. Before launching her career, Krista discovered her love for being on stage as a dancer, within the Bournemouth pantomimes from the tender age of eight. Learning the drums at fifteen, she treasured playing with her brother’s rock ’n’ roll band and was gifted a guitar for her eighteenth birthday. Whilst teaching herself to play the guitar, she began writing songs and as her confidence grew, she found out that singing and song-writing was exactly what she wanted to do as a career. Krista went on to study performing arts and enjoyed a variety of acting, theatre and entertainment jobs across England as well as song writing, busking and playing gigs and weddings for many years. In 2011, she won the 'Bournemouth Unplugged' competition whilst up against tremendous talent, with a voice described as ‘sunshine’, and a sound compared to the likes of KT Tunstall, Katie Melua and Jack Johnson. Soon after, her debut album ‘Moments With The Universe’ was released in May 2012. As well as being an accomplished solo musician, Krista also played with a band, notably performing under the name ‘Krista Green & The Bees’ around Dorset for the last two years and at present. One of their most memorable performances was sharing the same stage as Nizlopi, supporting them at Purbeck Valley Folk Festival in 2014. In the same year, she released another album titled ‘Stepping Stones’. By 2015 Krista had released three albums, all of which are available on iTunes, and she was no stranger to playing live performances and regularly entertaining new crowds. As a solo artist, Krista currently has a huge repertoire of both popular covers and original material which spans from gentle, chilled vibes to upbeat, catchy tunes; instilled by her mother's love for The Beatles whilst growing up and a love for the same fun 'summertime vibe'. Her covers range from the likes of Vance Joy, Bob Marley and The Fratellis through to Paolo Nutini, Ed Sheeran and George Ezra, showcasing her talent in singing an array of genres. No matter if it’s an up-tempo or a heartfelt track, her original material is always lyrically poetic. During her time as a busker over the years, she met a man called Barry who sold the Big Issue and they became good friends. His sudden passing led her to write ‘Barry’s Song’, a particularly meaningful song from her album ‘Krista Green: Live’. Krista believes that song writing is like keeping a diary and gives you the chance to pour out your emotions, whilst creating something positive. Her talent doesn’t just stop with music. Krista holds a black belt in Taekwondo as well as having the ability to draw and design all of the artwork for her albums. She currently lives in Bournemouth, gigging regularly, teaching music and focusing on her music. Krista continues to work hard and is currently writing her fourth album.

It is precisely here that the AVORIAZ project was born: on the border of two worlds: that of Joachim Garraud and that of DeLaurentis. An almost obvious meeting, that of artists whose common passion, generates a unique creation of its kind: an organic and collaborative electro. AVORIAZ was born somewhere in the Californian desert, nourished by solar and telluric energy. A rich music that takes root in French electro, but also in international pop: that of the dancefloors, of the great movements of freedom. Search Add 4 GavinDaVinci GavinDaVinci moved to Limerick from Tipperary in 2017 and began producing an album titled "Mr. MAAD The Inventor". By the time the project was complete, he had linked up with the earliest form of PX Music, notably DJ Replay and producer Akia, to release the album as the first project through the soon-to-be label. Since then, he has played every city in Ireland, building a reputation for raucous shows. He has since self-produced another album titled "superscumbagmode" to notoriety across the country. GavinDaVinci has been in the lists for top Irish artists from passionweiss, Nialler9 and District Magazine, and also won a fan-based vote for Best Music Video of the Year (2019) through new trend Squick. 2020 has seen him release another self-produced EP titled "Please, don't listen to my shit if you love me". Production credits include; Post Punk Podge, Hazey Haze and Murli. "What differentiates DaVinci and his crew from this current class of rappers is their steadfast commitment to re-imagining ‘90’s street rap through a contemporary working-class Irish lens. It’s like Griselda Records minus the gangster realism and the black American perspective—neo-noir dispatches from forgotten parts of modern Ireland where brawling, drug-fueled binges, unrequited love, and treacherous betrayals are an everyday thing. Just don’t ask them how to cook crack." - Passion Weiss "Plenty of filthy bass-lines, eerie samples, and scumbag based lyricism" - District Magazine “Transcending genres and tearing up the rule book when it comes to writing a hip hop album” – Prima Volta “DaVinci displays a flare for the self aware, penning from a perspective that oozes understanding and maturity” – Nialler9 “Brusque accented rap” – Notion Magazine "A madcap performer who shreds Hiberno-English into bloodstained, zany rap, DaVinci is the group’s ODB, but somehow also its RZA. His refreshingly strange songs show why, and how, the unvarnished rural Irish accent can work in rap." - VICE
