Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Port Talbot Cymric Male Choir | The Cymric as it is affectionately known is one of the oldest choirs in Wales having been established in 1911 by Mr John Bowen Davies. During the 1920’s and 30’s it competed regularly in local Eisteddfodau and during this period it sang at some unusual and interesting venues. In 1927 it fulfilled a week’s booking at The Palace Theatre Blackpool for the princely fee of £75.00, and in 1935 was invited by Randolph Hearst the newspaper magnate to sing at St Donat’s Castle in South Wales for celebrities of the film and newspaper world. The choir has had the privilege of appearing at The Royal Albert Hall in London in the presence of the Queen and HRH Prince Phillip and is extremely proud of the fact that during a concert tour of Deeside Aberdeenshire in 1990 the choir was invited to sing at Crathie Church Balmoral when both the Queen and HRH Prince Edward were in attendance. The Queen expressed her delight at the choirs singing and subsequently invited Choristers to Balmoral Castle. In May 1991 Rita Macneil , made a concert tour of the UK and during her appearance at St David’s Hall Cardiff she invited the Cymric on stage where she expressed her delight at the ‘Cymric’s rendition of her song ‘The Working Man’ and subsequently graciously allowed the choir to perform additional items. Since its inception the choir has had Six Musical Directors, On the death of John Bowen Davies in 1957 , the baton was handed over to Mrs Iris Evans Thomas who had been the Choir’s Accompanist since 1927. She remained the Musical Director until her death in 1973 when Roger Chicott who directed the Choir up until his regrettable passing in 2001 succeeded her. Mr Gareth Sims held the position until 2005, when he was succeeded Mrs Mair Jones who retired from the Choir in 2015. Matthew Lewis was appointed as the Choir’s Musical Director in October 2015

After an introspective trip, they began to discover aspects of themselves that remained hidden. The idea of keeping one’s inner child forever and the magnetism towards Japanese iconography from the 90’s and the 2000s, impregnated their work. SV uses plastic media such as engraving, watercolors, Chinese ink and now, exploring new horizons in digital illustration.

Search | Add | 4 | And The Wiremen | And The Wiremen was formed around 2010 at a studio in the middle of swamp just north of New Orleans. New York-based composer Lynn Wright had gathered a group of musicians––among them his then principal collaborator Sparklehorse’s Paul Watson and bassist Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, etc.) ––to record songs he had written for other singers. Early in the proceedings, the engineer refused to continue working unless Wright sang them himself. He agreed. Between 2010 and early 2016 And The Wiremen recording an eponymous album, the EP Send Me Low, and a single Caged Bird with a multi-generational, genre-crossing gaggle of musicians. When so inclined and their usual musical duties allowed, they would do short tours of the US and Europe, and then disappear from whence they came. In 2016 the band went on hiatus following Watson’s premature retirement from music due to worsening symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Wright went back to composing for dance and film, performing with various free-improvisation and new music ensembles, and released an album with Swan’s guitarist Norman Westberg and former Swans/Foetus bassist Algis Kizys under the moniker This Is Where. The band reconvened at the end of 2019 for series of shows in New York. With their new album Night Cracks Harbor, slated for a fall 2020 release, the on again/off again project becomes a more focused band, helmed by Wright with violinist Simon Goff serving as co-producer and arranger. The nourish jazz tendencies that were prominent on their early recordings are less obvious, and the music falls somewhere between a post-rock iteration of early Roxy Music and the fringes of PJ Harvey’s more recent work. As Always, it is really a sound of their own, no matter how familiar it may seem.

Search | Add | 4 | High Red | High Red | Norwegian/American band based in Oslo, Norway Every once in a long while things just seem to come together naturally, as if they had been aligned in the stars, or perhaps by destiny. Such is the story of the creation of High Red. Hailing from the heartlands of both the United States and Norway, the combined members of the High Red are on a mission to spread their musical message to audiences the world over. With nothing short of awe-inspiring live performances, High Red will embark on a musical journey right in front of your eyes and ears. And all you have to do is witness. With countless appearances sharing the stage with world-class touring acts (Robben Ford, Michael Landau, Kirk Fletcher, etc) in Scandinavia, Europe, and the USA, it was only a matter of time before Jon, Per, Iver, and Adam were to embark on their own musical endeavor - as High Red. Drawing inspiration from heavy study and upbringing in gospel-infused soul music and playing the blues everywhere from Los Angeles to Stockholm, these boys create a genre-splitting version of urban sleek and rural grit. With Adam Douglas' vocal prowess and avant-garde guitar playing, Per Øystein Erstad's command of the bass, Jon Reidar Furulund's relentless groove behind the drum kit, Iver Olav Erstad's mastery of the Hammond Organ, Clavinet, Rhodes, and piano - High Red has a message for you… Are you ready to listen? Musicians: Adam Douglas, Iver Olav Erstad, Per Øystein Erstad, Markus Lillehaug Johnsen and Jon Reidar Furulund |

A dark warehouse, a distant strobe light and unrepentant dancing by people from all walks of life with an affinity toward the darkness of repetitive delayed out reverberating basslines and drum beats. This is what I recall of my first underground party under the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, circa 2001. This experience spoke to me. In fact, this event set the stage for what has been 20 years of musical cultivation and growth. Many life detours have taken place along the way, but techno has been a constant through it all. |

Search | Add | 4 | Rosborough | Glenn Rosborough | Glenn Rosborough is a singer songwriter from Derry, Northern Ireland. In a city steeped in music and performance he grew up in a household full of records that became his influences. “I started my musical life from a very early age, teaching myself guitar at the age of ten and writing songs from the year after. Growing up in a musical household, with childhood heroes such as Tom Waits, Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel, becoming a musician was not a destined path but as realistic a career as becoming a lawyer, plumber or doctor. My parents made sure of that.” Rosborough cut his teeth in the vibrant music scene in Derry, playing regular shows at Bennigan's and the Warehouse which allowed him to try new songs on an audience full of writers and performers. This cultural hub served him well, allowing him to cultivate and refine an album’s worth of songs that attracted the attention of Ignition Records to whom he signed in 2017. This year Glenn has been on tour both as a headline artist and supporting some great acts including The DMAs, Mew and Seafret throughout the UK and Europe. He has also appeared at festivals such as the Great Escape and Community Festival, showcasing new songs whilst building a great live reputation and loyal following. |

Search | Add | 4 | Kowari | Two years after their first album"Trail" and a fifty-date European tour, the Belgian duo Kowari will be back with a new album in 2024. With this second record, Damien Chierici (violin, programming) and Louan Kempenaers (piano, programming) create a modern electronica ode to travelling and letting go. Downtempo and essentially instrumental on "Trail", on this album Kowari's universe is enriched by epic backing vocals, hypnotic organic drums, intoxicating loops and stronger electro beats. "The Kowari DNA we imprinted on 'Trail' is still there," explain Damien and Louan. "The piano, the violin, the search for melodic power in the compositions, the drive of the loops, the soothing moments that herald flights that are more evocative of cinema... But there was also a desire to add organic warmth and go even further in the use of electro elements. In concerts, people cry on some tracks and dance on others. That's exactly what we're looking for."

Vin had a breezy approach to hip-hop, rapping about girls and parents with a likable, profanity-free personality. After signing to Starway in 1990, he cut The Show Must Go On with producer Charles "Poogie" Bell. The record made little impact, and Vin dropped out of the hip-hop scene soon after.

In the early 90's, Trance and Techno music couldn't be found around Israel, expect 3 shops (2 other were in Tel Aviv), which brought this kind of stuff. The whole Israeli Trance scene was actually started in these places, where DJ's who came to get the usual 12" for their sets, could get these new sounds, which could be heard elsewhere. In fact, the first Israeli Trance compilation - "Trance Mix" was released on his home label called BMI, later changed to Melodia. Israel "Gingi" Fichman has passed away in November 2010 because of cardiac arrest. Hebrew: ישראל פיכמן |

Search | Add | 4 | Imago Mortis Photography | Sean M. Palfrey | “Classy Occultism” – Terrorizer Magazine, Sept 2008 Sean M. Palfrey (°1986, Detmold, Germany) AKA Imago Mortis makes photos, films, mixed media artworks and sculpture. By referencing the traditions of alchemy and the occult, surrealism, gothic romanticism, grand-guignolesque black humour, and symbolism, Palfrey creates his work through experimental and often labour-intensive processes which can be seen explicitly as a personal exorcism ritual. With the motto “Art is Dead | Death is Art” Palfrey distils the macabre traditions of fine art found in the surrealists, dada, romantics, pre-Raphaelites, and medieval eras to create dark conceptual photography and films; utilising elements such as infra-red, low-key lighting, long-exposures, double exposures, and traditional analog methods. Palfrey also creates alchemy and occult inspired paintings as well as sculptural taxidermy through the crystallisation and oxidisation of skulls, bones and shells. Sean M. Palfrey currently lives and works in Lincoln, UK and is available for selected commissions. Biography graciously provided by Mr. Corbin Grimm (2017) |
