Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Anton Mervar | Born in Slovenia in 1885, where he learned the art of accordion making. He completed his apprenticeship at Lubas & Sohn in 1912 and immigrated to Cleveland where he worked as a laborer while manufacturing and repairing chromatic and diatonic button accordions in his spare time. He saved his money and by 1921 was able to build a shop on St. Clair Avenue. Besides housing his accordion business, the building served as a retail music store where he sold phonographs, records, and other musical instruments. In addition, Mervar acted as a consultant and talent scout for the record companies—[l61808], [l1866], [l62753], and later [l93681]. Among those he recommended were the [a6964156], the [a8400237] duet, [a6359617], and Anton Štrukelj. The Hoyer Trio’s earliest OKeh recordings (made under the name [a6449604]) and the Columbia reissues of them include on the labels the words “Harmonica izdelal A. Mervar” (Accordion made by A. Mervar). One of the Hoyer Trio’s recordings—“Samo da bo likof ” (Everything for a Bargain)—is a comedy sketch which describes a visit by [a2399990] to Mervar’s Music Store for the purchase of an accordion. In it, members of Chicago’s [a6936342] act the parts of Mr. and Mrs. Mervar. Application of techniques he learned in Europe gave Mervar’s accordions a distinct and unique sound which has not been duplicated. He and his wife died in an automobile accident in 1942.

Search | Add | 5 | Alfonso Soliano | Excerpt from "Play it Again: The Music of Alfonso Soliano - A new album pays tribute to a legend of Malaysian music" By Ling Low and Syahir Ashri "A portrait of Alfonso Soliano hangs above the piano in their family home. The portrait, it is said, serves as a reminder to present members of the current family to never let the music die. Luckily, there doesn’t seem much chance of this happening: the Solianos are the Longest Performing Group (Family) in Malaysia, according to the Malaysian Book of Records. Rachel Guerzo, Soliano’s granddaughter, first started performing as a child. She now performs as a jazz singer and pianist around KL. This year marks 25 years since Alfonso Soliano’s passing. His influence may not be widely known today, but he arguably influenced the sound of modern Malaysian music more than any other one man. He was leader of the Radio Malaya orchestra and later conductor of the RTM Orchestra. He introduced the sound of bebop to the country. He was the mastermind behind many major local artists of the 1970’s, including Sharifah Aini. In his own day, Alfonso Soliano was a household name. Today, you might struggle to name one of his songs. But Rachel hopes to change that. She has just released an album, entitled Alfonso 25, that pays tribute to her grandfather and brings many of his songs to a new audience. “When I first had the idea for the first project, I wanted to show how timeless the music was and I wanted a diversified group of musicians so that we could showcase the music to different genres,” says Rachel. She selected different Malaysian musicians from different genres to interpret the songs for the album, including Ali Aiman, Lokman Aslam and Bihzhu. “We have hip-hop, we have EDM, we have folksy indie music and then there’s us [The Guerzos] which is more jazz rock. That was the whole idea, to have a diverse group of musicians.” In his lifetime, Soliano himself worked with a variety of musicians and genres – from grand orchestras to small bands playing in nightclubs and dance halls. According to musical historian Saidah Rastam, his compositions of off-beat jazz (or bebop) were at first baffling to KL’s audiences, but soon caught on. He was multi-talented: incredibly fluent in traditional Malay music styles like bangsawan, while also being able to interpret these for a symphonic orchestra. For Soliano, music was in his blood. In colonial Malaya, the British couldn’t find enough musicians who knew Western styles of music. So at the turn of the century, 64 musicians were brought over from the Philippines – somewhat ironically – to start a state band for Selangor. Soliano’s father was one of these Filipino musicians, and he settled in Malaya and started a family. Alfonso was born in Singapore in 1925 as the youngest of 17 children. Many of the family became respected musicians of their time and frequently performed together as jazz music grew in popularity. “Jazz was so prominent then, it was kind of like the music of the day. It’s kind of like what hip-hop is now. It was the contemporary music of the 50s,” says Rachel, who today performs with two of her brothers, Don and Dado, in The Guerzos. At just age seven, Alfonso Soliano – known as Nonong to his family – started performing around the country in a touring troupe. As he grew up, his career took him from colonial Malaya, through the Japanese occupation and into independent Malaya. But in his prime, he was forced to leave the very land that he called home. In the 1960’s, critical voices pressured Soliano to resign from Radio Malaya, where he was a full time conductor and arranger for the orchestra. According to Saidah Rastam’s research, this criticism was partly motivated by Soliano’s religion (he was not Muslim) and the Western influence of his music. Soliano ended up moving to Bangkok for several years, but his pride was wounded to the point that he refused to return to collect an AMN award in 1966. It was only in 1973 that Soliano was persuaded to return to Malaysia to work for RTM. However, his health soon started to deteriorate and he retired after suffering a stroke. Rachel herself was with her grandfather when he died."

Search | Add | 5 | Kiley Joe Masson | Kiley Joe Masson was born on October 6th 1975 and grew up in the town of Princeton, ON, and it was here he honed his skills as a vocalist and a rock and roll piano player. Early in his career Kiley Joe was mentored and directed by Bill ‘OJ’ Oja, the former manager of Maple Street in the 70’s and Terry Sumsion in the early 80’s. Bill went on to work as a reporter for the Country Music News while maintaining his fulltime job with the Hamilton Board of Education. In July of 1993 Kiley Joe won his category in the ‘Male Eighteen and Under’ at the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest held in Simcoe, ON. On December 4th 1993 his original song “Sitting In The Corner Of A Bar-Room,” was recorded and produced by none other than Larry Mercey. In early 1994 the song was released to radio on a special CD produced by the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest Board. Between January 23rd and March 1st 1994 Kiley Joe and Thom Ryerson partook in a song-writing course together with eight other people, presented through Fanshawe College in Woodstock, ON, and taught by singer/songwriter Jack (Flinsenberg) London. Kiley Joe discussed his own composition ‘Sittin’ In The Corner Of A Bar-Room’ while Thom presented his original song ‘Prey Time.’ The entire class wrote a song together called ‘Classified Love.’ Over the years Jack London has pushed his own version of ‘Classified Love’ at various websites, production companies and record labels, to absolutely no avail. In 1999 Kiley Joe released a song he wrote in high school called ‘A Soldier’s Memories.’ This composition is regularly featured on radio each and every Remembrance Day. In November of 2001 Kiley Joe participated in ‘Showcase 2001’ in Brantford. Columnist Glen Silverthorn reported, “This young man has it all: extreme talent on the keyboards and a fabulous voice. Once again he was a crowd favourite as he brought to life to many a country song from his extensive repertoire.” Kiley Joe knows close to a thousand songs from country to jazz, from the fifties to the sixties, and is a tremendous entertainer in his own right. After working as a single act for more than fifteen years, Kiley Joe currently performs with a five piece band at jamborees and country music festivals across Southern Ontario. When he’s not performing his own shows, he plays piano in the band Sweet Dreams backing Amberley Beatty’s ‘Legendary Patsy Cline Tour.’ He also plays piano and harmonica in the Butcher Holler Boys for the ‘Loretta Lynn Show,’ also presented by Amberley Beatty. As well, he plays piano and harmonica in two Robert Gill tributes; ‘The Waylon Jennings/Highwaymen Show’ and the ‘George Jones Show.’ Kiley Joe’s father, Paul, organizes the Crimson Hollow Barn Dance, which is held on his farm in Vienna, ON. Several years ago Kiley Joe was looking for a bass player to play at Crimson Hollow, and met bassist/vocalist Paul Newell. Kiley Joe incorporates Paul into as many projects as possible. Paul is about as Thunderbird as you can get. Both Paul Newell and Kiley Joe are regulars in Fred Lewis’ country outfit “Ridin’ High,” based in Woodstock. The three aforementioned musicians are all very well acquainted with the Commercial Tavern in Maryhill, ON. Presently Kiley Joe is playing with his band ‘The Rhythm Associates’ with Dale Rivard on steel guitar, Don Maxwell on bass, Ray Ovington on drums, and Kiley Joe singing, playing keyboards, and saxophone. On October 19th 2017 Kiley Joe and Paul Newell performed live at a talk given by Thom Ryerson at the Burford Public Library. Christmas with Kiley Joe was held on December 7th 2019 at Old St. Paul’s Anglican Church in downtown Woodstock. His show was followed by seasonal treats and beverages.

Search | Add | 5 | Etienne Machine | From the guitars’ electricity to the synthesizers’ electronics, Etienne Machine navigate through the genders, at the edge of the art-rock, electronica and trip-hop. (The) Human or (the) machine, a duality evoking 21st century’s spleen and melancholy where feelings and sensations confront electronic sequences and saturated guitars. A confrontation between the instinct and the reason held by the different voices that the group borrows through sensible and incisive texts. Tied up/connected by a strong and sincere friendship, the Lausanne-based Etienne Machine are some Jack-of-all-trades / dabblers: musicians, producers, lyric writers, remixers but also founders of the collective «La Machinerie». This pool of rock and electronic experimentation brings together their close musical world, where each member interferes in the other’s universe. Numerous roles that strengthen the tenacious link that bounds all the humans hidden behind the machines’ coldness.

Search | Add | 5 | Pionirski dom | The "Pionirski Dom" Residence is an international studio (audio) meeting that connects the contemporary music with authorship in poetry. It is a platform for international co-operation and partnership in the field of exchange of ideas, programmes and projects, of the mobility of artists as well as of the affirmation of the contemporary music and literary expression. Apart from its dedication to music and literary expression, this co-operation interferes with the new technologies as well. The combination of contemporary music genres and contemporary poetry indicates complexity of a programme that should grow with the expressibility of its kindred artists. The programme foresees a synchronicity of artistic expressions from the idea towards the resulting working process, the appliance and the development of the latest technology of sound engineering and last but not least, a live performance that will be recorded and released. The updated contemporary approach of the Residence includes the development of new directions in the very approach to production of sounds and spoken words as well as an open-minded attitude about every music genre paving thus the way for new potential and opportunities for interaction.

Search | Add | 5 | Nilg | Nilg was formed in 1991 in the soft area of Cologne. Coming from role models in Psychedelic Rock and Krautrock (especially Can, Queen, Herb Alpert), they have incorporated a whole range of influences into their playing over the years, from jazz and dub to electronic music to different types of so-called "ethnic" music (Stockhausen, Kuti, Gainsbourg etc.). This stylistic hodgepodge forms the fundus of musical forms that are repeatedly recombined in rhythmic improvisations, sound collages and the occasional song. That can be summed up as follows: "electronic music - hand-played" - not in the sense of the wax figure-like perfection of many post-rock bands, but as self-organizing, grooving chaos.

Since 1986, he brings a wealth of experience and a unique love for music to his performances. “I can spin pretty much anything. To me, it’s all about music and what speaks to you. Your job as the DJ is to see if you can make other people hear and feel what you feel. I try to do that in every set I play.” He has performed at Anime Central at the Soap Bubble and also helped to create the Underground Groove – a Friday night dance at ACen that was later renamed and taken to new heights. He has also performed at Ohayocon and has thrown several parties at clubs in downtown Chicago designed to showcase new and upcoming talent. He admits his favorite type of music changes from day to day. “There are so many new artists that have unique visions about the direction of dance music today that I find myself finding tracks I like in a lot of different genres. But, if you were going to pin me to just one, I would choose Soulful House. I love vocal talent.” |

Ihr erstes Studioalbum veröffentlichte Jana Berwig 2016 unter dem Titel “To be where you are”.

Search | Add | 5 | Whitefoxx | Hair / Glam Metal (Heavy Metal) band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA). Whitefoxx formed in 1982. Last Line-up: Tucker Michaels: Guitar, Back Vocals Rik Anthony: Drums Tipa Sparrs: Vocals Mike Regina: Bass, Back Vocals David Lord: Vocals WHITEFOXX is known as one of the pioneers in the rise of the Philadelphia Metal scene in the mid 80s. Formed originally as PRECIOUS METAL in 1982 as a cover band, the group’s first incarnation comprised of vocalist Tony Harnell, guitarist Barry Bennedetta, keyboard player Mark Soma, bassist Mike Regina and drummer Craig Soma. As the cover scene started to go sour, Harnell quit the band and eventually winded up fronting Norwegian outfit TNT. Bennedetta went on to play briefly in the band WAYSTED with UFO’s Pete Way. In 1984 vocalist / guitarist Mark Chasen joined PRECIOUS METAL and began writing songs with Mike Regina where they traded off lead vocals. They recruited drummer Billy Sipp and in 1985 started playing out as a power trio. As the band gained notoriety in the Philadelphia / South Jersey metal scene, guitarist Jeff LaBar was added to the fold which propelled him into the local spotlight where he was quickly recruited to fill the void left by Michael Kelly Smith with Polygram recording artists, CINDERELLA. emaining good friends with PRECIOUS METAL, LaBar recommended fellow guitarist Jimmy Maropoulos to take his place. Shortly thereafter, drummer Billy Sipp was replaced with new up and coming skin beater, Jimmy “Feek” Ferraioli. Feek was young, had some monster “chops” and he brought his own special brand of humor to the band. Soon PRECIOUS METAL had to change their name when an all-girl band with the same name landed a major label record deal. This is how WHITEFOXX was born. Although Feek helped with the transition from PRECIOUS METAL to WHITEFOXX, he only stayed with the band for about a year before moving on to other projects. He was responsible for creating many of the signature drum parts in the early WHITEFOXX material, some of which remain to this day. In 1986, with a new name and new attitude, WHITEFOXX entered the studio and cut a strong, four song demo with temporary drummer Jim Drnec. This first foray featured the impressive anthem “Beverly Hills” which gained them attention in HIT PARADER magazine in the US as well as KERRANG magazine in the UK. Soon “Metal” shows on local radio stations picked up on this and started playing tracks from the WHITEFOXX demo. Shortly after this, WHITEFOXX found their missing link in drummer Rik Anthony and enjoyed the stability hey had been looking for. With this lineup of Chasen, Regina, Maropoulos & Anthony, the band went on to become one of the strongest contenders in the Philadelphia Metal scene. With catchy songs, a flashy stage show and a growing army of followers, it seemed they were destined for stardom! But, as with any group of talented individuals, it’s not always easy to stay on the same page let alone the same stage. Chasen, Maropoulos & Ferraioli went on to form the band CHASEN with new bassist Donie Bufalo while vocalist Rob Zucchi and guitarist Reggie Wu joined WHITEFOXX. Wu later went on to form the band HEAVENS EDGE. In 1987 WHITEFOXX seemed to stabilize again when WORLD WAR III frontman Tipa Sparrs joined Regina & Anthony along with guitarist / keyboardist Tucker Michaels and guitar wizard Dave Lord was recruited to fill the void left by Reggie Wu. In 1988 WHITEFOXX signed a production deal with Denny Somach Productions. The plan was for Somach to get WHITEFOXX signed to a major label to take the band’s career to the next logical level. The song “Starry Eyes” caught the attention of several labels and some showcases were set up so the record company execs would get a chance to see the band play live. At least one deal was put forth but unfortunately, Somach didn’t feel any of the offers were strong enough to produce a competitive enough product. Eventually, WHITEFOXX disbanded in 1989 when Anthony and Regina, this time as frontman, went on to form the band LIGHT YEARS with guitarist Larry Campanella & bassist Slater Clifton. In 1992 Regina, Anthony & Zucchi went back on the road again as WHITEFOXX with Larry Campanella on guitar. Chasen declined the invitation to join this incarnation due to another project he was already involved in. The plan was to play only a few shows but it lasted for a full year. In 2004 Chasen reformed WHITEFOXX for a series of shows that featured Philadelphia / South Jersey bands from the 80’s. He recruited guitarist Barry Bennedetta , drummer Jim Drnec, and a local bass player to do the show as Regina was involved in other projects. WHITEFOXX came full circle when co-founders Chasen and Regina got back together to appear onstage for the first time in over 20 years for a reunion show in New Jersey in 2012. This lineup also featured former WHITEFOXX guitarist Larry Campanella and drummer Chris Nerone. At one point in the show they were also joined onstage by Reggie Wu to perform “Beverly Hills."
