Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Open Circle Party | "...its 'Open Circle Party' because a party is a celebratory gathering as well as a social or political force... and its a circle - well, anything is really - but its an 'open circle' in the sense that both the music and the band are open-ended and participation, improvisation and chance are encouraged and invited... this present album is a studio project by the two of us, but we are organising performances for which the band will expand to six or seven members and hopefully some form of that expanded line-up will feature on the next album so, yeah, its really an ongoing 'open circle party'..." "...the album has two extended tracks that are like two sides on an old vinyl album... its not too long an album by current CD standards, but its about the same length as the 'Love Supreme' album by John Coltrane or Santana's 'Abraxas' or an old Nick Drake or Beatles album or whatever... and we like 'side-long' tracks that get into a mood or a groove and stay there for a good while, like Fela or Ali Akbar Khan or electric Miles Davis, music that changes constantly with subtle variations and which feels like it can go off in any direction at any given moment, like life, like sex..." "...each of the two pieces on the album is based on a live, solo performance which was then developed and manipulated in various ways... the basis for the first part is an electric guitar feedback improvisation in an altered tuning, and the second is based on a rhythm performed on Indian tabla drums... each initial performance, the guitar feedback and the tabla groove, went on for about 17 minutes and was recorded in one take, and the album grew organically from that simple foundation... by overdubbing we played along with the basic tracks with no preconception or plans, and when we agreed that something sounded interesting we worked with it... the process was completely free and improvisational and for that reason exciting and engaging for us as the composer/performers because we never knew how it would turn out..." - from an interview with Chris Basile in Melbourne.

Search | Add | 4 | Divai | Divaï | After 19 years in the game, the incisive groove of Divaï’s techno sets are still just as appreciated by his audience, which has enabled him to play alongside artists like Pig & Dan, Paul Kalkbrenner, Vitalic… From 2007 to 2010 his productions, playlisted and remixed by artists like Kiko (Great Stuff, 1605), Dolby D (Dolma rec), Patrice Baumel (Get Physical) or even Perc (CLR, Perc Trax), were consistently well-received by critics. His following collaborative project with Manu Svensson under the name Deep Wild led to two EPs for Elektro System. In 2017, the artist came back with a new, more sensory and colorful, project called "Myrddin” and signed an original track as well as a remix with the label Fortwin-Records. The first EP under this pseudonym is planned in 2018 with the same label. Search | Add | 4 | Mike Korman | Vocalist, guitarist, producer. Born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, MIKE KORMAN has made a musical comeback. Guitarist in the 1980’s Hoboken band “GUT BANK”, KORMAN stopped playing music in 1987 to pursue a career in his hometown, working at City Hall. “I was inspired by reform Mayor Tom Vezzetti to serve in government”. Still working for the City of Hoboken, KORMAN has begun exploring music again. “For 20 years I didn’t pick up a guitar. But in 2007, I bought a used acoustic guitar at a flea market and began playing some old riffs - then applying some lyrics I had written years ago." The result was a collection of new recordings - a 2012 solo album “HOBOKEN ROCKS”. KORMAN has an audio engineering background. He records and produces all his own music and plays all the instruments. “What I am doing now is way beyond me just playing guitar in a band. “I’m creating my own songs, singing for the 1st time and loving it, performing better than I ever have in the past. I put a lot of work in the process and it’s enjoyable.” KORMAN played guitar with several groups during the 1980’s post-punk scene in New York City and played a part in the famed “Hoboken Sound” with GUT BANK. KORMAN was a member of the 1983 Lower East Side group “THE KEEPER” (Slum Goddess Records), made up of band members Michael Goglia, the early drummer of psychedelic garage rockers “THE FUZZTONES”, vocalist Parker Dulany of NYC‘s overlooked “CERTAIN GENERAL” and Tommy Victor, founder of longtime industrial metal band “PRONG”, who played bass at the time. KORMAN also played in the NYC groups “MISTAKEN IDENTITY” and “NO THANKS”, both part of the underground post-punk scene during the early 1980’s. GUT BANK, which toured often garnering a large fan base, enjoyed success from 1985 leading up to its 1987 album release “THE DARK AGES” (Twin\Tone, Coyote Records), produced by Roger Miller of MISSION OF BURMA, and often opened for HUSKER DU and the MEAT PUPPETS. Following the release of "HOBOKEN ROCKS" in 2012, KORMAN continued recording new songs, with a 2nd album "LIBERTY REIGN", released in January 2015.

Two singles were later released from the album on to the internet. "I was given a chance to live my dream since I was 16 and working on P.O.'s first album. I had facilities at schools and colleges. There were studios, theaters and videos to work on my craft and figure out weather I enjoyed the performance or the production side." Between 2006 - 2010 multiple albums were released, "Nos Mortuus" dubed as the project's most dark ambient album. "Insomniac People" was more electronic and industrial. The "Equilibrium" album featured the voice of Sean and Sheri's father throughout the album. 2011-2012 A revamp of PostOmnis began when Sean Graves enlisted into the United States Navy. While writing music for the band he had also traveled across the world searching for new sounds. New band members including Lor, Talios Wing, and Kevin (Guitar Guy). "After taking a long time off from working on the project. It feels really good to talk to people of like minds. People who can hear the music and take it to another world. The project has grown, I'm very comfortable with the new music and it's really exciting to be working again on the craft." |

Search | Add | 4 | Serpicon3 | Andrea Spineda | Serpicon3, aka Andrea, is an electronic producer hailing from Rome, Italy. This talented musician started playing around and having fun with music in the far 1990 as a Dj. He even got a job in a club as a resident Dj in 1992. After harvesting the fruits of this job, he invested all the money into various music instruments : The main goal was to push his productions farther and hopefully make money in the music industry as a dance producer. Serpicon3 never reached that goal so far.. but he also never gave up with music and this is why I truly think he'll make it. Working mostly with Propellerheads Reason to make his music, Serpicon3 has got into many various electronic genre. Nevertheless, his public releases are only dance oriented tracks. Surely the music trends have a big impact on his style, but it's also important to mention that all the electronic music from the 80's are still an even bigger inspiration for him. Nowadays, Serpicon3 as an amateur Dj produces for himself, for passion, and for everyone that want to listen to his works. Bio courtesy of thebbcmusic |

Search | Add | 4 | Thomas Näfe | Thomas Näfe | Born 1968 in Darmstadt (Germany) and electronic native since the early eighties at the age of 13. I have chosen the synonym "the artist formerly unknown" because I prefer the unknown part in the background of my projects. I have started in the mid 80s to produce electronic music in many projects with various singers or solo. With singer Dirk, I started the first project "Perspex Hearts in the Fog" (PHF) in 1985. The name was inspired by OMD, but the music was more experimental. I programmed some tracks on a Commodore 64 with the software "Sound Monitor" and an early C64 sample-module. The result were some very low quality synthpop-tracks trying to sound like a mixture of "art of noise", "the human league" and "omd". Maybe I will upload some of the funny tracks in near future... With singer Manfred I started "Delete Delete" in 1987. Influenced by hard industrial and EBM stuff (Klinik, aGrumh, Skinny Puppy, Throbbing Gristle, Non, Current 93, Severed Heads) and some pop heroes (OMD, Depeche Mode, Human League, New Order). We have tried to combine these influences using some nice gadgets: Korg MS20, Korg PolySix, Korg CR8000, Roland CSQ600, Roland MC202, Roland TB303, Roland TR626 and some digital devices Korg DDD1, Casio CZ101, Casio SK1, Casio SK5, Korg Poly800, Commodore Amiga 500. We released 2 Tapes in 1988 and performed some strange live gigs. In 1989 keyboarder Axel joined "Delete Delete" and we switched to be more catchy. Before the third tape was ready and maybe a record-deal was signed, we split because of musical differences. Between 1990 and 1995 I wrote a lot of pop songs using my PolySix, Korg DDD1 and the brandnew Roland JD800 sequenced by KMS on an Amiga 500. Some of these tracks were used later for "Commercial" and "The artist formerly unknown". With singer Kai I started "Banality" in 1996. We produced a demo-cd "demonstration" in 1996 which we tried to "sell" in London. We walked from door to door of nearly all London based labels, but without any success. The classical 80s synthpop was not very popular in 1996, so we were refused. Later that year we renamed the project to "commercial" and decided to sound more "90s". We released the mini-album "Concepts" (500 copies) and shipped 90 copies to various labels again. The feedback was frustrating: "The vocals are too 80s and the sound is not compatible to chart productions". We tried to produce a "hit" and released the single-cd "forever" in 1998. The refrain was sung by female vocalist "Antonia" to get more "90s". The Track was no 1 in the local Radio-Charts and No 2 in the year 1998. But no label was interested. In 1998 we produced some more tracks and performed some Gigs, but without any success we stopped producing songs together. My SetUp this time: Roland JD800, Korg PolySix, Roland JX3P, Roland JX8P, Boss Dr550, Kurzweil MicroPiano, Moog Prodigy, Roland Orchestra Module OC1, Deep Bass 9, Roland JP8000, Akai S2000, Waldorf PulsePlus, Roland S330 and various effects. Since 1995 I switched to Cubase on a MAC for sequencing. From now on, I recorded some demotracks with various vocalists and I produced many instrumental tracks as "The artist formerly unknown". First I wanted to produce Trance, but soon I decided to ignore all genres and I produced melodic, danceable, instrumental, electronic music. Somewhere between trance, ambient, synthpop and soundtracks. In 2000 I switched from Cubase to Logic for sequencing and additional to the commercial-setup I began to use virtual instruments. Today I use virtual instruments only, cause I sold all equipment somme years ago to pay some bills :-) Actually, I am looking for a singer (m/f) to continue writing electronic popmusic. |
