Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Kristina Renée Kristina Renée Saugstrup Kristina Renée is a singer and songwriter from Copenhagen, Denmark. Participated in a competition on the Facebook page of [a316085] to cover one of her songs. Kristina Renée's cover was voted the best by fans, and the prize was to play live at a concert with [a316085]. Kristina Renée was spotted by her manager [a1626849] at this concert in 2010. Kristina Renée performed at different venues in 2011, played three songs at the annual SPOT festival, and played support for [a358037] and [a747927] in [l355823]. The EP "[r=13984237]" was released in 2012 when Kristina Renée was 25 years old. This EP consists of electropop with intensely present and personal vocals inspired by [a747927] and singer-songwriters, such as [a316085]. She returned to SPOT festival in the same year to play a full concert based on her EP. The full-length album "[r=13693827]" was released in 2013, which consists of indie pop as a development of Kristina Renée's personal and slightly melancholic EP. In the same year, she performed at the SPOT, Smukfest and NorthSide festivals, and played support at [l270767]. The single "[r=13983886]" was released in 2014, and Kristina Renée played support for [a2870871] in [l355823] in the same year. A full-length album with the same title as the single should have been released in 2015, but this did not happen. Instead, the EP "[m=1579972]" was released in 2015. Despite favorable reviews in Denmark and fan support, Kristina Renée did not gain great or international fame with her debut album.

Search Add 5 Atombuzz Atombuzz is a four piece hardcore punk band from the sunny Sussex riviera. They have outlasted trends, scenes and governments by refusing to give in and just doing what they do. They play fast rock 'n' roll taking influences from Poison Idea, Discharge, The Varukers, The Exploited, Peter and The Test Tube Babies and more. Society gives them plenty of material and anger to craft their music and they do this anyway they like. They have been causing chaos since 1993 and in between drinking and splitting up, managed to record and release: 2 EPS, 3 albums and a double A side Christmas single. They are no longer playing as a band and instead prefer listening to Meat Loaf whilst drinking port and eating cheese. Although never say die!

Search Add 5 Dante S. Bolletino Dante Franco Salvatore Bollettino American jazz enthusiast and record bootlegger (born September 22, 1928 in the Bronx, New York, NY - died August 14, 1985 in Monte Cassino, Italy) Also credited as a writer of liner notes. Around 1949, Bollettino founded [l=Paradox Industries, Inc.] to release the [l=Paradox (10)] label. Another label associated with him and his office at 139 E. 47th Street in New York City was the [l=The Wax Shop] label. In addition, Bollettino ran bootleg labels like [l=Jolly Roger (2)], [l=Pax Records (4)], and [l=British Rhythm Society] that reissued dubbed, pirated copies of older jazz recordings to an eager audience of collectors. When Bollettino released seven Louis Armstrong LPs on the [l=Jolly Roger (2)] label in 1951, he was sued for copyright infringement by [l=Columbia], who themselves had reissued four LPs with 48 of their older Louis Armstrong titles in April 1951. Bollettino lost a major court case against [l=Columbia] for record piracy in February 1952. His reissue labels were shut down, and he had to pay [a=Louis Armstrong] $1,000 in damages.

Driven by a constant need to experience new music, 25Hz took the leap into electronic music production when the world seemed to be falling apart in early 2020, compelled by the desire to share these emotions and perhaps move someone else to feel the same. 25Hz music highlights the sides of the individual that resides behind the persona… experimental, dark almost visceral undertones with haunting, frisson-inducing highs; counterposed by dance music with a true sense of fun, bounce and movement that defies genre labels. So why 25Hz? It's linked to what started me in music production, as well as my cat Loki's reactions to my music... 25Hz is the fundamental frequency of a purr... and at its essence is perhaps the ultimate translation of emotion into sound.

Search Add 5 Insidiae Insidiae Insidiae was a Progressive Modern Metal band from Friesland, The Netherlands. They disbanded in February 2013. Below is the band's biography for archive and information purposes: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was October 2010 when a couple of good friends that had already made music together in the past decided to form a proper band. With Jelle Hamstra behind the drum kit, Janneke Smids on keys, Siegfried Kramer on lead guitar, Paulus Kramer on bass and Harm-Jan Broekema as vocalist the band was already nearly complete. Soon after Jeroen Bosma joined the band to play rhythm guitar and they were good to go. The band was christened Insidiae which is a Latin word meaning ambush or treachery. The word Insidiae is technically a plural form which has no singular. Though when translated it does refer to a singular concept and in that way it relates to being in a band. It takes multiple people to form a band that is itself one entity. A genre or style of music was never really stipulated but grew in a natural way with each song that was written. Resulting in the sound that now defines Insidiae. Dynamic, heavy as well as melodic, with a strong groove and a progressive edge. The songs themselves are what’s important and as long as they have an interesting progression and their components do not feel pieced together; almost anything goes. When it comes to lyrical content the band tends to focus itself on the darker side of the human psyche. In a little over a year Insidiae was already fortunate enough to open for big international acts such as Sonic Syndicate and Blaze Bayley as well as well known national bands like Autumn and God Dethroned. Meanwhile the recording of some demo tracks led to joining a collective of progressive metal bands called “Layered Reality Productions”. The band was also part of a compilation album, released only on Vinyl, that went by the name of “Frisian Metal Massacre Volume 1” alongside the befriended local acts; Leaper’s Path, Dimaeon and Disintegrate. This project in itself led to multiple new initiatives. Tamme Oosterhof, the man behind this compilation, started his own record label called Big Bad Wolf Records and in April 2012 Insidiae was the first act to be signed to this label. While members of Insidiae and Dimaeon started their own organisation called “Metalization” in order to organise gigs and other activities to help upcoming metal bands and musicians. In its relatively short existence there have also been some negative developments for Insidiae however. Chief among those being the long term illness of the band’s singer as well as multiple line-up changes. Jeroen Nauta took the place of Jeroen Bosma on rhythm guitar at the end of December 2011. And Jean-Luc Nealon replaced Paulus Kramer on bass guitar when he decided to quit the band early March 2012. All the while the work on the first album titled “Were Demons Dare” was continuing furiously and it is currently set for a release in the summer of 2012. This will mark the dawn of the new Insidiae that is now ready to rock as many venues as possible in order to earn its rightful place in the metal scene!

Ремикс на композицию "От непониманий" получил название "Where Are You?". Этой работой заинтересовался ирландский лэйбл "Composure Records", который решил взять данное творение под своё крыло. И выпустил это произведение на только что открывшемся дочернем лэйбле "Digital Vagabond". В итоге ирландские DJ, которые сотрудничают с лэйблом, сделали ремиксы на "Where Are You?"

Though his musical expertise spanned many genres, Fred’s first love was the local bluegrass and gospel music of the mountains of North Carolina.

Search Add 5 Братья Покрасс Pokrass brothers (братья Покрасс) were a duo of Soviet composers Dmitry (1899–1978) and Daniel Pokrass (1905–1954), who composed various popular romances and military songs, including famous marches Red Army Is The Strongest (Красная Армия всех сильней) and Budyonny March (Марш Будённого), as well as the music for numerous feature and documentary films. They were one of the originators of the revolutionary aesthetics in Soviet music, and while critics later saw many of their works as propagandist "poster-songs" and denounced them for blatant obsequiousness to the communist regime, at the time Pokrass tunes were broadly popular all across the Soviet Union. Dmitry and Daniel praised Soviet military leaders and politicians in their songs, namely [a=Joseph Stalin], Kliment Voroshilov, and Semyon Budyonny. In the sixties, some of their songs were censored to remove any mentions of Stalin. Dmitry and Daniel were only two of the four Pokrass siblings active in music. The eldest brother Samuel Pokrass (1897–1939) immigrated to the United States in the end of the twenties and had a fairly successful career as Hollywood and Broadway composer. Sam Pokrass was poisoned in New York in 1939. Arkady Pokrass (1898–196?) was a virtuoso pianist and accompanist for various popular artists, including Natalia Tamara (Mitina-Buynitskaya) and Vadim Kozin. Unlike his more opportunistic brothers, Arkady didn't manage to adapt to the new ideological realities of the Soviet Union. After Kozin was arrested and sent to Kolyma in 1939, Arkady Pokrass abruptly ended his career and not much is known about him ever since. In Soviet musicological literature, the names of Arkady and Samuel were practically erased, so Pokrass brothers were seen as a duo of Dmitry and Daniel.

Search Add 5 Odd Wannebo Odd Wannebo March 11. 1932 - July 16. 2016, Namsos, Norway. Born into the working class of a small town and working as a baker, he moved in the mid 50s to Oslo for a career in graphic design. His passion, though, was music, from the spirituals and gospel music of his childhood’s chapels and Salvation Army, where his mother was a passionate member. This was discovered by Oslo’s music scene, where he frequently attended with his remarkable bass voice. Kirsten Flagstad, the great opera singer, saw to that he became a solist at Den Norske Opera, after funding his education in Vienna. From there his career took him to the great international stages, while from 1963 finding himself at home mainly in the U.S.A and Canada, until settling down in Los Angeles, still performing within the opera scene. Here he would also pick up his roots in gospel and spirituals, performing and recording albums on vinyl and CD. At the end of his life he moved back to Namsos, Norway, where he passed away at the age of 84.

Search Add 5 Metalycée Armin Steiner, Nik Hummer, Bernhard Breuer, Matija Schellander, Melita Jurisic Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... Sound. Experiment. Avant-garde. Ashes. Dust. Metal. From a disc of fully digitally processed drum and guitar samples developed in 2003 by Viennese sound artists Armin Steiner and Nik Hummer (who as part of Thilges3 operated on the cutting edge of art, noise and politics ) emerged the project Metalycée. A telling name, which tells of cerebral hardness, of guttural fantasy. A name, which does not give too much away. Since two years drummer Bernhard Breuer, bass guitarist Matija Schellander and singer Melita Jurisic completed the experimental growth, which did not evolve without consequence: The new album “It Is Not” belongs to another, more surreal tryst, between Free Jazz, Metal and, now, to HipHop. Those who need to name genres, may add Free Rap, even HipDrone, but nobody really needs categories. Above all, what concerns Metalycée is not awkward genre deconstructions, nor aimless experimentals. The concern is the whole, sublime truth of the sound. This truth is: there are no boundaries. “It Is Not” indicates that subtlety can also be deafening, that the most intensive noise can also consist of finesse. Or, more figuratively: “It Is Not” walks with a map of the South Bronx through Norwegian swamps, cesspools of beats, geysers of noise that break into industrial mud slicks. And over all that, over little death bells and deathly basses, comes the lyric furor of Melita Jurisic: Ashes to ashes, dust to dust…

Search Add 5 Gabriella Besanzoni Gabriella Besanzoni Italian mezzo-soprano and contralto, born 20 September 1888 in Rome, Italy and died 8 July 1962 in Rome, Italy. Gabriella Besanzoni studied at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome where she was taught by Alessandro Maggi and Ibilda Brizzi. She made her debut at Viterbo in 1911 as Adalgisa. Because of her expansive middle register and rich low tones she decided to restudy and appeared as a mezzo-soprano at the Teatro Costanzi Rome in 1913 (Ulrica). She was very successful at La Scala, as Orfeo and Amneris, and in 1932 as Carmen and Mignon. In the 1910s and ‘20s Besanzoni was a star of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and other South American opera houses. Her roles included Dalila, Carmen, Amneris, Lola, La Cieca, Preziosilla, Marina, Leonora in La Favorita, Mignon, Adalgisa, Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri, not to forget the roles in the first performances of Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini and Marinuzzi’s Jacquerie. She returned to sing at the Colón until 1935. The artist also appeared at the Met opposite Caruso in the season 1919/20, but she was not successful. She also made guest appearances at the opera houses of Chicago, Havana and Berlin. Carmen was the role that brought her fame and it was this part she chose for her farewell performance at the Terme di Caracalle in Rome (1939). After her retirement she dedicated herself to teaching.

Search Add 5 Sheep Fiends Based out of Chicago, the Sheep Fiends are a rotating collective of musicians who record music in an improvisational, impromptu and extemporaneous style. Lyrics are typically composed as the music is played, musicians find their way by ear and it is not uncommon for an instrument to change hands mid-song. The Sheep Fiends play no particular genre and every Sheep Fiends jam is a performance. They started making music almost 30 years ago in 1992 and over 100 musicians have floated in and out of the group, bringing with them a virtual orchestra of instruments. The nucleus of The Sheep Fiends formed around a number of DJ's who met at WRDP: Radio Depaul, DePaul University's college radio station in Chicago.

Search Add 5 Céleste Gatier Céleste Gatier is a french experimental artist from Paris. Her music focuses on the fragility of the sound object and the live realisation of an electronic instrument that is transformed at every moment. Each tiny gesture generates new noisy phenomena, unstable and unpredictable, as a result of cuts, interference and short circuits. Voices are added to the crackling white noise, in a strange dialectic between the coldness of white frequencies and poetic words. Céleste also tackles other hybrid performative practices, such as sound lecture-performances.
