Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Charlotte Mermoud Purpur Spytt performs as a one-woman band, even though she might not be all alone in her head… she plays some wavy pop-ish post-punk with lots of bass lines and very few guitar chords. Ironic, not to say satirical, her lyrics are loaded with existential meanings, not to say statements. You know what we say ; better to laugh… Purpur Spytt is a fictional character created by Charlotte Mermoud.

Search Add 3 Kurt Rodeck-Engelhardt German Tenor, born Mai,13 1888. He began his career in 1924 as a concert singer and in 1925 was engaged as a concert and opera singer at the NORAG radio station in Hamburg, where he remained until 1929. He now also made his debut on the opera stage, and in 1930 went on engagement to the Stadttheater Magdeburg. After a successful guest performance, he was called to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in 1932, where he was especially successful in heroic roles: as Lohengrin, as Walther von Stolzing in the "Meistersinger", as Rienzi, as Siegmund in the "Walküre" and as Parsifal. In 1935 he went to the City Theater of Kiel and sang at the City Theater of Essen in 1936-42. In the 1942-43 season he was again engaged in Kiel, after which he gave guest performances, but does not seem to have appeared again after World War II. Among his other roles are Florestan in "Fidelio," Max in "Freischütz," Tannhäuser, the title character in H. Pfitzner's "Palestrina," and Faule Hans in Alexander Ritter's opera of the same name. Guest appearances brought him success in theaters in Germany as well as in Switzerland; in addition to his work on the stage, he constantly continued his activity as a concert singer.records: Orchestrola, Adler (Wagner arias).

Search Add 3 Matt Mirenda After six years as a DJ and four as a music producer, he decides to continue his artistic career as Matt Mirenda, stopping using [a=Matijay] as a pseudonym. Matt Mirenda leaves behind the techno and minimal sounds that For years they have accompanied them, keeping them as a memory among the most beautiful experiences that they have lived in the course of their career to this day, as well as the support that great artists have given them such as: Carl Cox, Dubfire, Joy Kitikonti, and so on. Not forgetting Richie Hawtin, that he has mixed in one of his live shows “Stefano Franca – Carousel (Matijay's Extreme Remix)“. The Argentine tour (September 2012 – March 2013) is definitely the main cause of the change. The influences of the progressive genre in an underground style, soon become a true philosophy of life for the artist. In search of the best arpeggio, ever more rolling grooves and melodies that leave listeners in a state of "mental trip", Matt Mirenda begins to live in a totally uncontrolled way. Together with an Argentine musician and composer friend, he works every night until lunchtime, resting during the day, during those moments when the frenzy of the world leaves no room for inspirations and the purest arts. Everything starts again at 9:00 p.m. :00 in the afternoon. The mates are too sugary, the alfajores, the invoices, the asado, the pizzas, the fernet and the bottles of beer are elements that are always present during this period of experimentation. The results arrive immediately, after returning to Europe, Matt Mirenda signs contracts with several record companies already dedicated to the world of progressive and deep house, such as: OLD SQL Recordings, Mistique Music, and several sub-labels of Proton Music. Now, the waves of the sea steal land from the sandy desert, and the strong ocher color leaves space for the green of the forests and orchards, but, like a rushing river, it follows inspiration.

No Trend mastermind and guitarist [a=Frank Price (2)] had come aboard in 1985, shortly before the band broke-up.

Search Add 3 FugaSatanae Dark ambient project from Russia. Alex Hedin (concept, music, artwork, mastermind of the project, from the beginning) Andres Westrvm (sampling, additional help, since 2007; appears on "the Heritage") It initially started by Alex Hedin with the idea of making a PC-game (Quest) along with his friend in 2000. He was really into occult stuff that time, so Lovecraft's stories got to be a reasonable choice for both of them... Alex Hedin took part in producing sounds and samples, being a concept-designer at the same time. Unfortunatelly, due to failure of a hard-drive on our PC, we've lost all the data, except musical score. We felt devastated, and finally decided to close the project in 2001... Coming back to what he had composed, Alex Hedin came up with the idea to explore the field he once discovered - to use the material he had and reproduce it into something personal, so that the music wouldn't touch its narrative side only (like it used to be in the game), but also showed his own feelings to it. Three years later... It's spring, 2004 and Alex Hedin got the first long-play record to the date - "The Descendant", a typical Dark Ambient with its strong feel of influence from Lustmord's early material (1982-84). Three more years left... FugaSatanae represente "The Heritage" CD with much better sound quality and more mature musical construction of each track on the album.

Search Add 3 Julio César Jurado In the decade of the 80, the Latin rock marked the beginning of a musical current that to the date maintains with great success, although at the moment it fuses with other sorts. At that time all Latin America and Spain were in fashion the songs of bands like Soda Stereo, Mecano, Enanitos Verdes, among others. And in Ecuador, the Guayaquil group 'Clip' revolutionized the national scene with a musical proposal that lived up to these consecrated groups. The lyrics and rhythms combined perfectly in each of the songs that 'Clip' put on the radios and on the country stages. These were not only successful in Ecuador since they also positioned themselves in the first places in some countries of the continent as 'Little by little', 'Just a fool', 'Emotional laxative', 'Mosquito anopheles', 'You are here' 'It does not cost anything to dream', among others, that made the renowned musicians who are now, although 'Clip. 'and finished his musical stage. However, 'Ñañón', as Julio César Jurado calls it, never completely moved away from music and combined his career as an architect with that of music producer and communicator. One of the biggest successes that Jurado has had as a producer was to organize an intercollegial competition (1998) in which several soloists and bands from the emblematic schools of Guayaquil participated. In that contest was winner now the recognized singer Daniel Betancourth. 'Ñañón' Jurado will repeat his experience as a scout to discover and train new singers or national bands with the purpose of positioning them in the international market.
