Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Michael Cullen Murphy Michael Cullen Murphy Singer Songwriter, living in the U.K. Born, U.S.A. 1967. He grew up in Nashville Tennessee and Centreville Alabama in the U.S.A. Moving to the U.K. in the late 1970s. In 2021 Nick Saloman of the Bevis Frond who was ceasing to release on his Woznorow record label and starting a new label, Blue Matter, heard songs originally intended for a self release; he asked to release the Lp on Record and Cd as 'All Change At The 5 and Dime'. His style is hard to pin down, but seems to be a combination of Country influences, Gothic Americana, touches of Folk and Folk Psych and with personal experience often at the centre of many of the songs. Songs which fit into the tradition of the Singer Songwriter. His lyrics are often concerned with the passage of time, love and family and utilise the imagery of the natural world to express these themes. His sound has been likened to Calexico, Iron and Wine, Bruce Cockburn, Nick Drake and Tim Buckley. He says he's been influenced variously by, Roy Harper, Nick Drake, Steve Young, Ashra Temple, Gong, George Jones, Townes Van Zandt, The Velvet Underground, Pentangle, Fairport Convention, The Handsome Family, The Trees, Anne Briggs, Bridget St. John, Earth Opera, John Martyn, Sandy Denny and The incredible String Band.

Search Add 4 Carolina Fasulo Carolina María Fasulo Kemper Carola was an exceptional singer, she gave life to each song she performed, vocalizing both strong and subtle songs equally well. She told [a1227150] her story in a 1996 interview: “I always sang, since I was little. The first thing I did was study Spanish dances, play the castanets and hit the shoes while dancing. I loved rock n´roll, which at that time was a half forbidden thing. " Then Carola discovered what it was to compose songs "in a rocker sense", in her own words. “The two composers that influenced me the most were [a1263448] and [a1006851]. Precisely, everything I did in Damas Negras has to do with that poetics. And is that Carola was not improvised, in addition to composing beautiful lyrics, had a great formal musical training and knew how to play the guitar. He also had the possibility of working side by side with an extremely talented musician like [a1678587], who officiated as an arranger, companion and musical director. In 1973, through the Harvest label, Carola published a single with the songs "The Night Journey" and "Eva estirpe terrena" accompanied by [a945590]. That same year he recorded in the Phonalex studios what would be his only solo album: Damas Negras. Published through the Talent label, which was currently directed by [a516809]. Also, the album featured the participation of various musicians such as [a1539219], [a1750869], [a6170712], [a2298016], [a1006850], among others.

Zélie was an American opera singer of French descent who was successful in her native country but made most of her career in England. The wide range of her voice allowed her to sing both mezzo-soprano and soprano roles. Among de Lussan's most famous roles was the title role in Bizet's Carmen, which she performed 2,000 times. She appeared with Sir Thomas Beecham's opera companies, at Covent Garden and with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. After retiring from the stage she made her home in London, where she continued to teach. Search Add 4 Fritz Vogelstrom Vogelstrom was born on November 4th, 1882 in Herford. He undertook is first small part at the age of 14 in Robert und Bertram (play with incidental music by Gustav Raeder) as "Schildwache" at the Herforder Stadttheater. In 1898, Vogelstrom joined a male quartet "Sänger von Finsterwalde". When performing with the group, he was heard by the director of the Hamburg opera who proposed him a contract. However, Vogelstrom was drafted at that time and instead of going to Hamburg, he went to Hannover. Vogelstrom had an accident and was released from service. He joined another quartet "Rheinisches Männerquartett" in Mannheim. The director of the Mannheim opera, August Bassermann, heard him and asked him to audition. His audition was on November 23rd, 1903 and as a result, he got a five year contract. His first parts in Mannheim were Max, Tamino, Alessandro Stradella and the Seaman (Tristan und Isolde). The number one heldentenor of the Mannheim Opera Friedrich Carlén died, and that was Vogelstrom's big break. He added Lohengrin, Stolzing, Siegfried, Tristan to his repertory. For his last performance in Mannhein, Vogelstrom choosed Pedro. In 1912, Vogelstrom went on to Dresden. He was warmly welcomed in Dresden because their three heldentenors Burian, von Bary and Sembach where not able to sing for different reasons. He made his debut in Dresden as Max. There, Vogelstrom added Bacchus, Hans Kraft (Bärenhäuter), Kaiser, Gomella (Sonnenflammen) and a part in Hand und Herz to his repertory. He also added Tannhäuser, Parsifal, Canio and Turiddu (on the same evening, where he received 42 curtain calls), Herodes, Rienzi,..etc. Vogelstrom made many guest appearances, for example: 1908, he was in Dresden for the first time, before becoming a member of the troupe, replacing Burian in Tiefland, followed by Carmen and La bohème. 1909, Vogelstrom made his debut in Bayreuth as Froh on July 25th. He was supposed to sing Lohengrin, but intrigues behind the scene, by the wife of Bary, made sure he did not appear. However, Vogelstrom appeared as Parsifal on July 31st and August 8th. The same year, he also sang in Vienna. 1910 Berlin (Stolzing), 1911 Nürnberg (Stolzing), München (Stolzing), Essen (Lohengrin) 1912 Essen 1913 Hannover (Lohengrin), Bielefeld (Lohengrin), Nürnberg (Siegfried) 1922 Zoppot (Siegfried) Vogelstrom continued to sing in Dresden until 1928. He died on December 25th, 1963 in Köthen, after having lost all his properties in the bombing of Dresden where he lived during the war. Vogelstrom recorded for Gramophon, Odeon, Pathé, Vox, Homocord and Parlophon: a total of 125 sides.

Search Add 4 No:Id. Economic constraints drove this duet to seize the philosophy of austerity; “big things surprise by their simplicity” and “manage to make things with less than you have” were two of the mottoes that Gustavo Madrid and Omar Scavone embraced at the time of bringing this new project to life. They wanted to create songs that could be easily sung, they wanted to create a music that was independent from a particular moment, from a time; they wanted to create a music that could carry on living, that could last. The group was stigmatized as being “different”, snob and only suitable for the huge minority; rated of being intoxicating but serene, of having swing and style. The lyrics in English enjoyed a warm reception and someone suggested that if you had a French friend, he will surely like this band´s music. Their sound can´t deny the influence of Tindersticks, Nick Cave, Lou Reed or Tom Waits; but true to their blueprint, NO:ID. introduces a musical scheme that´s based on the subversion of pop music, where they put together an infinite series of tones and sounds that go beyond the usual resources of this musical style. NO:ID. makes part of an innovative musical world where new technologies, traditional instruments and everyday objects are combined to create a sound palette where every tone will be appreciated for its originality. The revamp of styles and the non-conventional instruments they used to generate sound invigorates a proposal in which the duet looks for an original and innovative music. NO:ID. tries to broaden the boundaries to give more room to imagination, creativity, innovation and musical experimentation.

Search Add 4 Nicholas J. Michalak I, Nicholas J. Michalak, created RavensFilm Productions in Spring, 2004 as a serious statement that filmmaking would be my life's passion. What began as a focus on comedic shorts eventually veered toward more dramatic and noir style narratives born from my evolving fandom of the work of Chicago born filmmaker Michael Mann. Thief was the first, but it was Collateral that solidified my deadset interest in the crime genre. Hitmen, criminals, syndicates, lawmen, private detectives, and vigilantes have all become common subject matter since then. Other influences upon my work include John Carpenter, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, Clive Barker, Russell Mulcahy, and Kevin Smith, just to name a few. These influences have driven my creativity far, but the desire is always there to branch out into other genres. RavensFilm Productions is aided by an array of highly talented actors and filmmakers across Chicagoland. My closest and most trusted collaborator is Cinematographer, Videographer, and SteadiCam Operator Eric Woltman of Voltage Visual Studios and Steadi Zephyr. His expertise, technical knowledge, and artistic eye have benefitted my endeavors greatly, and the favor has been returned many times. Beyond a great collaborator, he is a valued friend, and that is the relationship I like to spark with everyone I work with. RavensFilm Productions also has a long standing and ever expanding collaboration with Chicago heavy metal band HEMI. Numerous music videos have been produced for the band by me, I have designed their entire official web site, shoot nearly all of their live shows since April of 2011, and in 2012, I recorded, produced, edited, and mixed their first live album, The Chosen Ones: Live in the Fire, along with designing all of the interior artwork for the CD release. The friendship with the band has officially made me the fifth member of the band. As of 2011, RavensFilm Productions is a registered Service Mark in the State of Illinois. That only further legitimizes RavensFilm Productions in my eyes, and the expansion to offering a variety of video production and web design services aimed at the burgeoning artist has broken the possibilites wide open for what RavensFilm Productions can grow into becoming. The future is starting to develop more and more with the release of Dead Of Night on Special Edition DVD, the impending completion of The Fixer on the horizon, and several promising scripts in development. The year of 2013 brought high definition finally into the grasp of RavensFilm Productions, and several new YouTube video series were launched including Forever Cinematic video movie reviews and the Leftover Junk series where I feature abandoned, alternate, or unreleased footage from my projects that need a little context. The future holds many exciting opportunities and possibilites for everything I hope to do with RavensFilm Productions.

Search Add 4 Da Enemy Ralf Rögner Ralf's musical works began in May 1989 when he produced the first songs using an Commodore Amiga system. The early years mainly were the period of time were he tried a lot of different styles including techno, breakbeat and experimental stuff none of which ever has been released to public. In 1992 he acquired a set of Technics SL-1210 turntables which gave him the chance to get inspiration by the pioneers of oldschool hardcore. Following these influences he started to focus on these styles while he still produced techno and trance tracks, also in cooperation with other artists beside. The second creative phase began in 1994 when Vernon D. Hill was his working-mate at a musicstore. Influences from the early 1980's funk and soul era found their place in his music. In the later time he found back to his roots and dedicated his creativity mainly to drum & bass. In 2008 he released the first vinyl of his drum & bass project sn00ze on Enemy Movement, a label he started on January, 1st of 2006.

Search Add 4 Israel Fichman Israel Fichman Israel Fichman, was and still known because of a special small underground record shop in Bat-Yam called "Gingi Records" (which was originally started as a photography shop). In the early 90's, Trance and Techno music couldn't be found around Israel, expect 3 shops (2 other were in Tel Aviv), which brought this kind of stuff. The whole Israeli Trance scene was actually started in these places, where DJ's who came to get the usual 12" for their sets, could get these new sounds, which could be heard elsewhere. In fact, the first Israeli Trance compilation - "Trance Mix" was released on his home label called BMI, later changed to Melodia. Israel "Gingi" Fichman has passed away in November 2010 because of cardiac arrest. Hebrew: ישראל פיכמן
