Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Bernard Moussali | Bernard Moussali (1953, Beirut -1996, Paris) was an Associate Professor of Arab Literature, and Lecturer at the Sorbonne, he had dedicated his research to Arab Music, with an open-mindedness he passionately defended. Born to a Syrian-Lebanese father and a Belgian mother, he carried within a multiculturality that was at the core of his too short scientific career. Gifted with an uncommon spirit of enquiry and with rare erudition, attentive reader of Ṭabarī, of ‘Abd al-Ghanī al-Nābulsī as well as of Umberto Eco or simply of crime novels, Bernard Moussali was known for his often categorical judgements and his quick wit that made of him and intellectual who was admired as much as he was feared. He published very little, always reworking the texts he patiently prepared. In the field of Arab Literature, we only know of a single course by him, that remained a manuscript, on Maḥmūd Darwīsh’s work; but he had also started writing a History of Contemporary Arabic Literature that remained unfinished. Bernard Moussali had established himself as a well-informed amateur and a passionate listener of early 20th century Arab Music that he thought was more important to immerse oneself in than to analyse. Like Christian Poché or Frédéric Lagrange, he gave priority to archiving, particularly through 78rpm discs that reflected a period he considered to be unjustly forgotten. In this capacity, he contributed, with Christian Poché, to the first CD re-release of Arab Music records (Ocora, Arab World Institute, 1987). His research work mainly concerned the 1932 Cairo Congress of Arab Music. He had dedicated to this subject his master’s dissertation (1980) and was preparing on the same theme a doctorate thesis that was unfortunately interrupted because of his illness. Nevertheless, he participated to the re-release of a selection of 78rpm discs recorded in Cairo in 1932, once again with Christian Poché (IMA, Bnf, 1989). His uncompromising analysis of the debates of the Cairo Congress[1] had raised his awareness about he importance of the influence of Ottoman Music on its Arab counterpart during the last centuries, and he learned Turkish in order to better exploit these sources. He also often pointed out the essential role, ignored later on, of numerous minorities –Christians, Jews and others– as to the origins of “Arab Music”. Regarding the Egyptian hegemonism at the 1932 Congress, he brought out the historical contribution of Syria in the 18th and the 19th centuries. Bernard Moussali mainly published CD booklets, around twenty, including mostly audio archives, but also some live concerts, elevating the disc’s value to that of an anthology, thanks to his always precise erudition as well as to his passionate loquacity: a lyrical listener who knew how to steer himself in an era of statistics and technicity. | |

(1924-1930) In 1931, Roupen married Azniv Manoogian, a pianist, and the pair gave concerts in Europe and Asia as well as the Middle East during the 1930s. The Kamanche which Karakhanian played in his concerts was made in 1810 for his grandfather. Its gourd shaped body and long neck were ornately trimmed with mother-of-pearl. The neck finial was shaped like the famed Byzantine “onion domes” of his native land. The instrument is played with a bow, but unlike a violin is held neck-up. The body of the instrument supported on the knee. It produces a minor-key, wailing but melodic sound indicative of its Far Eastern origin. Karakhanian once explained that most kamanches have only three strings, but he modified his own instrument so it can be played with piano accompaniment. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Shadiya | Not afraid to experiment and not shackled by what is considered mainstream, artist/producer/writer/arranger/singer/executive, Shadiya, brings to the stage sultry, smooth jazz sounds and collectively represents every music style imaginable. Shadiya's music career began while singing in the church choir when the music director discovered her talent. Wanting to see that talent blossom, the director took her under her wing and paid for her vocal and piano lessons. From then on, with her mother and godmother as her managers, Shadiya was auditioning and singing for benefits such as the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Dogwood Arts Festival, Dollywood (formally known as Silver Dollar City) and political and church groups. At age 13, she was challenged to audition for the Miss Tennessee Talented Teen contest. Winning the contest with her rendition of "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess, she went on to represent her state in the Hal Jackson's International Talented Teens Pageant held at the Coconut Grove in Hollywood, California. This one experience was a turning point in Shadiya's life. It opened many doors to building her self-esteem, to offering opportunities to interact and perform with some of the hottest stars such as [a=Janet Jackson], [a=Johnny Gill], [a=Jeffrey Osbourne], [a=Ready For The World], [a=Bobby Brown], and [a=DeBarge]. In high school she auditioned and won a place in the All-East and then All-State Chorus. Shadiya also enjoyed acting in highschool and tore the house down when she played Queenie in ShowBoat. Showing her versatility, she tried her hand at modeling and had various modeling jobs for Sears and other companies and organizations. At age 14, she recorded her first Gospel cassette titled, "Rise Again". After attending a year of college, she joined the Army as a medical specialist, paratrooper and served in the Persian Gulf War. She has appeared on World Monitor Special Broadcast, Montel Williams Show and CBS/Boston Children's Hospital Telethon. In 1989 she appeared in the movie, My Mother Wears Combat Boots with Barbara Eden (who played I Dream of Jeanie). Showcasing her writing skills, she co-authored a coloring book about children's cancer titled How My Life Changed. Independently released in 1997 was her first R&B single titled, "Love is the Answer". In 1998 her first R&B CD was titled "Songs of Love". In the year 2000, she wrote and released the Jamilia Cancer Fund CD with a beautiful track titled Miracles. The album, The Heart of a Woman, showcases all of her titles as songwriter, producer, arranger, and vocalist. This album incorporates easy listening, smooth jazz, gospel and a little R&B. Her influences include [a=Minnie Riperton], [a=Gladys Knight], [a=Aretha Franklin], [a=Natalie Cole], [a=Patti Labelle], [a=Angela Winbush], [a=Dolly Parton], and [a=Prince]. Shadiya's "Share My World" album cover is the poster child for Superdups advertisement all over the country. Shadiya was one of the top 12 DIY picks in the Sept/Oct 2004 Performing Songwriter magazine. She was also chosen as one of the artists to be heard on XM radio. Solar Radio has been great with playing Shadiya's music. Shadiya's albums are available at retail stores. New Jersey has been pumping her up at the Hip Hop Cafe, Cache, Casablanca, Mobile, Sambuca, Tribecca, Lace, Platinum as she incorporates more dance tunes. Shadiya was on the 46th Annual Grammy Awards entry list for her "Heart of a Woman" album and the 47th Annual Grammy Awards entry list for her "Share My World" album. Entered in the categories of Record of the Year, Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Hechos Raros | They formed in the early nineties in the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. The group was formed by members of the rock bands: "Hamlet y Los Encantadores Hombres de Nuestro Santo Patrono" both originally from the port city. The first original line-up was composed by: Winny Quintanilla, Juan Carlos Inzunza, Sergio Avila, Jaime Coppel, Juancho Benitez and Guillermo Hernández. This line-up later recorded the cassette titled "Historias de la Ciudad" in Guadalajara, Jalisco. After promoting the aforementioned title, they made presentations nationwide where they were required to record their second material in Mexico City, which never went on sale for the reasons of the first label. In 1995 they move to Los Angeles, California. In that city, they are discovered by the Argentine producer Horacio Lanzi and his company "Hola Rock and Pop", who produces the material entitled "Hechos Raros" from which the singles "Toque de Queda" and "El Sinaloense" are released, That material was recorded in the "Hot Tin Roof" studios in North Hollywood in 1996. Two videos were filmed and the material was finally distributed by the record company Fonovisa. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Dodoly | Dodoli Kidima | Dodoli Kidima (sometimes spelled Dodoly) is a Congo DR soukous guitarist. He is best known for his high speed solos, for which he has been nicknamed la machine a coudre ("the sewing machine").He began his career in [a=Orchestre Stukas], a soukous band that reached the apex of its popularity in Zaire in the mid-1970s. In the 1980s he played the lead guitar briefly in [a=Bipoli Tshando]'s short-lived band [a=Victoria Principal] but reached the apex of his popularity in [a=Bozi Boziana]'s [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc], one of the bands the dominated the soukous scene in that decade. Dodoly was so fundamental to [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc]'s sound that, when he left, the musicians that replaced him (including major guitarists such as Rigo Star) all sought to imitate his style. Dodoly left [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc] briefly in 1987, to join [a=Djo Nolo]'s short-lived project [a=Choc Musica], but rejoined Boziana's band in 1988. That year, he was nominated "best guitarist" by the Kinshasa press. In Anti-Choc, he also contributed as a composer, writing hit songs such as Lelo Makambo – Lobi Makambo ("problems today, problems tomorrow"). He left Anti-Choc again in the mid 1990s. |

Although recorded and released in 1981, around 2003, a blogger stumbled upon the record, and dubbed it the worst album cover…ever. The trend to vilify the front cover art of LPs took off, with books by Nick DiFonzo (Worst Albums Cover Ever and Seriously Bad Album Covers) and websites Bizarre Records, LP Cover Lover, and Cover Browser, ranking Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday, and its questionable photograph, at the top of almost every “worst” list. The cover was shot at Pat O’Carroll’s Restaurant, in Lake Charles, with Kim Whitehead, a 16-year old, from Lake Charles.
