Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Doug Chaffin Bluegrass acoustic bassist from West Virginia. Doug Chaffin joined The 1937 Flood in 1999. Doug has been playing music around here for nearly 50 years. Tri-State Area music lovers may recall The Montereys, the '60s rock and rockabilly band named after a rather nice Mercury automobile. That was Doug on lead guitar. He has played country, rock and swing and he was also a regular on stage with the late, great J.P. and Annadeene Fraley throughout their extensive career. He remained close to them. In fact, Doug played bass on the fiddler's last CD with Betty Vornbrock, called "Side by Side" (Burning Wolf-002).

Search Add 2 Shoshana Shoshan Jewish colorata soprano, born in Tarnov Poland 31 January 1926, and died in New York 7 March 2006. She moved to Palestine at some point before 1945, later claiming to have been born there and to have grown up speaking Hebrew and not understanding Yiddish (she said her parents spoke yiddish when they didn't want her to understand what they were saying). She rose to prominence as the leading soprano of The Israel National Opera in Tel Aviv. She appeared in the ~1950 production of [a=Marc Lavry]'s opera "Dan Hanhofer". The tenor [a=Jan Peerce], on a tour to Israel, heard her and encouraged her to tour America, where she obtained permanent residence. She toured Australia in 1963, and recorded an album of Lieder. She married her manager, Arnold Andelman, and worked as a music teacher after retiring from the stage.

His pedagogic activities in Portugal since 1968 made him directly responsible for the tuition of young musicians which constitute nowadays a very successful new generation of Portuguese guitarists.

Search Add 2 Irene Hunt Irene Hunt has said that among the abilities a writer for children must have is "a close affinity with his own childhood... He must remember the anxieties and uncertanties..." The ability is displayed in her own books: A Trail of Apple Blossoms; the award-winning Across Five Aprils; and No Promises in the Wind; and Up a Road Slowly, winner of the 1967 John Newberry Award. She also puts to use the advice of one of her own characters in Up A Road Slowly -- to "write of things you know about, things you've experiences, things that have touched you deeply." The book reflects the death of her own father when she was very young, and drawsn on an early childhood spend on a farm and later years teaching in the public school system of Illinois. Having degrees from the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota, Miss Hunt also attended the University of Colorado for advanced graduate work in psychology. A lover of travel, she was born in Newton, Illinois, and lives now in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she indulges a flair for cooking and refinishing old furniture. -- liner notes, NAR 3031

I thought the band was really smokin up to that point and to bring in another guitarist 2 weeks before a showcase was a bad thing. We ended up doing the showcase with another guitarist (Toshi Iseda) but we did not get the deal. By the way, Toshi was an awesome guitarist. "

After 85 auditioning acts, Brothers Of The Mind won and were signed to Pal Joey Productions. Two years later, they landed a deal at Maxi/Max’n Records where the group did three singles, “Stop Scheming”, “Kick Facts” and “Rough & Tough” remixed by “the BeatMinerz” that sold well across the US and Europe, but due to poor promotions, 5 years later, the project ended. Search Add 2 Guten Tag Czech alternative rock band. Guten Tag from Northern Bohemia became a club and cult legend at its time, and their only CD Maso (Flesh) is the time capsule of the era. Guten Tag clearly sprung from the best traditions of the Czech underground and (then) young musicians added unusual dose of flair and energy. Certain music journalist described the band as darker and more off-beat [a=Už jsme doma] band - maybe due to the use of saxophone. We would describe them more as a crossover of [a=Dog Eat Dog] with original [a=Garáž] band - maybe due to the use of saxophone. However, I just realized - where were Dog Eat Dog when Guten Tag were already blasting the music from the stage? Since the shows were a real musical assault, the CD was titled Maso (Flesh) with a subtitle “hudba/music” to eliminate any possibility that some dorks could confuse it with a product of meat industry. The cover was designed by now also legendary [a=Luboš Drtina]. Leader of the band [a=Petr Mikolášek] later performed under the name [a=Significant Brother], then also in project [a=Significant Other].
