Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Lucy Ishkhanian Lucy Ishkanian Tankian Internationally recognized pianist who performed in the major concert halls around the world to great acclaim, died in a hospital in New York City on April 20. She was 80. Her nine tours from 1962 to 1979 throughout the former Soviet Union was part of the "Special Prize" award she received from the jury of the Second International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She also was sent on tour by the US Department of State Cultural Program and performed throughout the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Argentina, and the United States under the management of impresario Sol Hurok. In 1971, she was presented by Hurok at her debut at Philharmonic Hall (now Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.) A native New Yorker of Armenian descent, she gave her first recital at age seven, two years after becoming the youngest student ever accepted to the Juilliard School Preparatory Division. She continued her education there as a scholarship winner for 15 years, and graduated with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. She also completed requirements for a PH.D degree at Columbia University. Among her teachers were Beveridge Webster and Rosina Lhevinne. She also coached with some of the greatest musicians, including pianists Mieczeslaw Horszowski, Yakov Fliere, Emil Gilels, and composer Aram Khachaturian who entrusted her with the American premiere of his Piano Sonata. Among her greatest achievements was the foundation of the Juilliard-Komitas friendship program in 1992, enabling gifted students from the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia to be admitted to The Juilliard School in New York to continue their musical education. Ms. Ishkanian was an honorary professor at the Komitas Conservatory, and served as president of the jury for the graduation examinations. Ms. Ishkanian also was a distinguished member of international piano competition juries around the world, including the First International Aram Khachaturian Piano Competition in Yerevan in 1997, the First International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition in Los Angeles, CA in 2002, as well as the Dorothy MacKenzie Artist Recognition Awards at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City. Ms. Ishkanian is survived by her husband, Hagop Tankian. A brother, Vahe, predeceased her. There will be a 40th day requiem service on Sunday at the St. Illuminator's Armenian Apostolic Cathedral, located at 221 East 27th Street in New York City, starting at 11:30am, after which there will be a musical tribute and a reception. Donations in her memory may be made to the Armenian Scholarship Fund at The Juilliard School. Published in The New York Times on May 30, 2014

Search Add 2 Dreams Yukon Nicolas Ladouceur Dreams Yukon EP was conceived and recorded entirely in a boat on Lake Ontario, moored at Toronto's Harbourfront. Nicolas Ladouceur and his partner have spent years cultivating a small-space style of living that lends itself to easy relocation and inspirational oddities. The boat has become the world's tiniest work-space/studio for the couple, as well as being their sole residence. Born in Yellowknife, NWT, Nicolas has found that living on water while working imparts an interesting quality in his art. With a celebrated and world-touring past performing, writing and recording primarily as a guitarist, Dreams Yukon is Nicolas' first submission to the constantly inspiring and innovative world of electronic music.

Search Add 2 Tom Pirosok I'm a busker/songwriter. I sing and play guitar in the streets of Calgary, Montreal, Kingston and elsewhere. I really enjoy the immediacy of it. When I put out good energy, people usually respond. When I have none left, more often than not, some good soul comes around and charges me up! Busking is how I make a living. It's also one way that I stand up for democracy by exercising my constitutionally-protected right to freedom of expression in public space. Musical influences I don't really hear how they influence what I sound like, but I enjoy the music of Bruce Cockburn, Todd Rundgren, Billy Joel, the Kinks, Toad the Wet Sprocket/Glen Phillips, the Cryan Shames and Jean Leloup. Search Add 2 TangleRoots Danish roots band, originally formed as [a5922717] in 1992 by Martin Seeberg, Morten Thomassen and Lars Mortensen. The musical style was originally based in traditional Irish music, but soon developed into other forms as well. In 1994 percussionist Steen Lyck joined in, and as the musical style developed further, the name was changed to TangleRoots in 1994/1995. Search Add 2 Watang! Watang! Is a surf-instro project led by El Sentenza, former banjo player from [a=The Legendary Kid Combo], together with Marla’O, guitar player from the all-female Italian garage queens [a=The Cleopatras]. This project was born at the beginning of summer 2013, with the help of Barba San, from the Italian beat band The Albinos, Cecilia Ann, famous bass based indie-pendent songwriter and Mimmi, one of the best and eclectic jazz drummers of the Garda Lake area. The former idea was to create a standard surf combo, then after a couple of weeks in the basement, the project took a different shape, mixing the musical tastes of all the musicians involved. The original surf sound took a different direction, moving towards the surf revival of the 90’s, the garage beat revival, and the traditional Oriental melodies from the Far East area. All the imaginary and the artwork was inspired by the oriental Z movies, martial arts and fancied mysterious stories from ancient east. The band wear original Kung Fu kimonos and the (dragon) ladies are dressed like famous almond eyed movies star actresses. Main influences are bands like The Bomboras, Ghastly Ones, Satan’s Pilgrims, mixed with The Ventures, Takeshi Terauchi, The Fuzztones, Gravedigger V, Roky Erikson, The Pixies, The Cramps, Link Wray, Johnny Thunders, Dick Dale, Question Mark and the Mysterians...
