Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 6 Rene Van Aken Dance Detective In the 90’s he participated in mixing contests and he won every single one of them and in 1996 he was named Dj of the year. These are some of the high points in the life of the 'Dance Detective '. In 1970, he was born in Haarlem and began spinning at local clubs in the region of Amsterdam (Netherlands) at age of 18. There always has been a preference for "Dance" music, but he also listened and watched the crowd what they want to hear on the dance floor. As a remixer he has made hundreds of mixes for national and local radio mixes in the Netherlands. Short mash-up’s from 5 minutes to complete years mixes of one hour. Now the “Dance Detective” spins the wheels of steel at classic dance parties.

Search Add 6 Archer C Hostettler Archer was born in Thailand and moved to London when she was 13 years old and now base in Switzerland. Even before this young age she had a very keen interest in photography and art but not until she moved to London was she able to immerse herself in an environment where she was able to flourish and expand her creativity She drew inspiration from the eclectic architecture of London. This theme continues into her current works, which draws a striking contrast between hard architecture and softer humanity. Her work had developed artistically and shows a distinct abstract quality, which encompasses a variety of styles but still retains the unique and inimitable style that is characteristic of her work. If one word were to be used to epitomize Archer work it would be dynamic. She consistently seek to challenge herself creatively to push her work forward therefore producing art, which is multi-faceted and versatile. Archer has worked in publicity studios, fashion rooms and as a freelance photographer for clubs, her photos had been used for cover, flyer in many underground music labels. Looking forward, Archer is seeking to expand her subjects, creating art, which had a broad appeal while incorporating her unique aspect.

Search Add 6 Jon Force Jon Force began DJ'ing on vinyl in 2001 after discovering Hard House during it's short stint of popularity in America at that time. He became involved with a promotion called EastcoastNRG which had a web based live video stream with chat years before YouTube or Twitch existed. They were bringing over DJ's such as Riksta and Steve Ryan to play raves in America and also received some London bookings. Shortly after their first vinyl release, EastcoastNRG folded in 2004. In 2007, Jon left the scene. It remained an un-closed chapter in his life however and in 2020 (during the lockdowns) Jon bought decks and took the Tidy production course. He has since worked with artists such as Bass Jumper, Digital Mafia, Random But Raw, Slenderman, and BK. He began releasing tracks in September of 2022. He also revived ECN Radio (now weekly on twitch) which was where it all started for him. Jon plans to continue producing and running a weekly stream where he features the best Hard House DJ's.

Search Add 6 Rodney O'Quinn He is best known as the bassist for Foghat. At 5 years old, grabbing mom’s vacuum cleaner like a mic stand singing “Hound Dog” by Elvis, Rodney O’Quinn was smitten and bitten by the music bug at an early age. By the time he was 11, a request from a friend simply saying “We need a Bass Player. You should get one!” would lead him to the first of many stages he would perform on. Straight out of High School, Rodney attained his higher education in Rock & Roll playing full time from 1984-1996 with various notable Bands out of the South East U.S. This included a 5-year stint with one of the South East’s top touring/grossing bands, ELI which generated 2 well received albums. Averaging 240 shows a year left Rodney feeling burned out and ready for a change. He was leaving life on the road behind (or so he thought). In 2007 (Rodney describes it as an “itch that needed to be scratched”) music beckoned once again and he was compelled to answer. Rodney joined Pat Travers Band for what he thought would be a year or two on the road. Over the next eight and half years with the Pat Travers Band, Rodney played over 500 shows across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, U.K., Europe and Sweden and recorded 2 studio CD’s and 2 Live CD/DVD’s with the band. They also performed Live on the syndicated show RockLine Radio 3 times as well as a concert, “Live from Moondance Jam” which aired over 100 times on Direct TV. More than just a beast on the bass and a pretty face, Rodney used his business savvy background to handle many facets of the PTB organization. In 2010, he co-produced a run of shows that featured Pat Travers, Derek St Holmes, Mark Farner and Ronnie Montrose called Guitar Gods of the 70’s. Along with other members of Pat’s band, Rodney would play bass behind all of these Artists. During these extensive tours, as fate would have it, Rodney crossed paths many times with his friend and fellow bass player, Craig MacGregor of Foghat. After watching Rodney play, Craig Macgregor admired Rodney’s talent and when the time was right, was called upon in 2015 to fill in for “Mac” and has since become a permanent part of the Foghat Family. Two years, 2 Foghat CD releases and 140+ shows (and counting) Rodney is honored to be able to add his touch to this piece of Foghat history.

Search Add 6 Delta Angel Delta Angel were a 3 piece hailing from the Manor Park district of East London. Originally known as Electric Dog Sex they gigged around Central and North London between 1987 and 1989 before changing their name to Delta Angel following much interest in their latest, more dance orientated demo. They signed to Profile following advice from One Little Indian that they were unable to sign them for six months or so due to their involvement with the Shamen - and that band's interest in Profile UK led them to believe that it would be a fruitful partnership. It wasn't. They recorded one album - Silhouette - which turned out to be a fair reflection of their live sound but were not given either the time or budget to really experiment in the studio. They didn't submit any further tracks to Profile. Vocals, Guitar, songwriting, programming and production: Dominic Peel Keyboards: Carol Hayward Bass: Mark Handley

Search Add 6 Noirdegout Emmanuel Taron & Matthieu Monnin Techno duo from Besançon, France. (2005 - 2009). They are also owner of No Fear records After playing as a live act or DJs in many important events in Canada, Czech Republic and France during 3 years NOIRDEGOUT create his own label called NO FEAR RECORDS on December 2005. The first release on this label is an EP made by NOIRDEGOUT themselves and called FIRST ASSAULT EP . Great surprise, this records was RECORDS OF THE MONTH" on French music magazine "TRAX"! (and remixed by famous French producer SCAN X), but was also NUMBER ONE ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST , played by Laurent Garnier, Fabrice Lig, Vince Watson, Paul Nazca... !!! The SECOND SHOT EP is also a success, and, as the "first assault", this record is NUMBER 1 ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST with the track "Consumed" but also number 7 in this chart with the track "Sharks Bay" !!! The THIRD WAY EP was a melodic and emotional EP, deeper than their first releases. The NOIRDEGOUT releases, Live-act , and DJ set were a mix of many influences like Detroit techno (Kenny Larkin, Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May), Electro (Anthony Rother, Arpanet ), German techno (Heiko Laux, Johaneis Heil, Beroshima) ,and of course the French techno sounds of Laurent Garnier , Vitalic, The hacker and many mores!!! After some other releases were published on Initial cut & White noise records (Dave Clarke's label) The duo no longer exists now.
