Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 23 | Bonnie Prudden | (January 29, 1914 – December 11, 2011) Bonnie Prudden was an American physical fitness pioneer, expert rock climber and mountaineer. Her report to Eisenhower on the unfitness of American children as compared with their European counterparts led to the formation of the President’s Council on Youth Fitness. Prudden authored 16 books on physical fitness and Myotherapy for all ages and abilities including two best sellers, How to Keep Slender and Fit After Thirty (1961) and Pain Erasure: The Bonnie Prudden Way (1980). She produced six exercise albums, hosted the first regular exercise spots on national television, had a syndicated television show, and wrote a column for Sports Illustrated. Schools, prisons, summer camps, factories, hospitals, clubs, YMCAs, universities, geriatric homes and facilities for the physically and emotionally challenged all used and benefited from the many physical fitness programs she provided for them. Prudden also designed the first fitness fashions and developed numerous pieces of exercise equipment that could be built in the average garage and used by the family. (Wikipedia)

Search | Add | 23 | Fernando Quejas | Fernando Quejas was a Cape Verdean singer and songwriter. (b. 1922 - Praia, Cabo Verde / d. 2005 - Lisboa, Portugal) He began to sing at a very young age and was a founding partner of Rádio Clube de Cabo Verde, which appeared in 1945 having been the first to perform live from its studios. He left for Portugal at the end of 1947 and in the following year joined the cast of Emissora Nacional, initially singing Brazilian songs, a repertoire he already took from Cape Verde, where names such as Ary Barroso, Silvio Caldas and Orlando Silva were no strangers. Only later does he begin to introduce the morna, practically unknown in Portugal at the time, into his repertoire. He recorded 22 singles between 1952 and 1973. In addition to the series of singles Quejas toured Portugal for years, singing in casinos, events and in the so-called "Serões para os Trabalhadores", promoted by the National Foundation for Joy at Work and which lasted until the 25th of April. Without returning to Cape Verde for 43 years, in 1990 he visited Praia at the invitation of Aristides Pereira - this, after reaching the ears of the then President of the confidence that he had made to a friend about the hurt he had to see others being invited to events in Cape Verde and he never was. Quejas keeps the video of the recording of the show then held in the auditorium of the National Assembly, a true meeting of generations, with Dany Spínola reading a poem by Jorge Barbosa and then the singer performing accompanied by Luís Morais, Valdemar Lopes da Silva, Chico Serra, Bau and Kim Alves. Search | Add | 23 | The Gospel Mariners | The Mariners Quartet, originally the Gospel Mariners, originated in 1963. This group was on the long running television program, The Good Ship Zion on WHIO-TV, Dayton, Oh. Ned Williman, Denny Sullivan, Ray Seaman and Randall Clay left the program in 1963 to travel full time as the Mariners Quartet. The group quickly gained popularity all across America. Much credit was given to Jim Hill of the Stamps Quartet, The Statesmen and many other popular groups who booked The Mariners with them in concerts. Shortly after going full time Denny Sullivan left and was replaced by Jim (Tex) McLain. Jim had been a member of the Stamps Quartet lead by Arnold Hyles. Jim stayed with the quartet for eleven years and was considered one of the best tenors in gospel music. Due to the illness in his family, Ned Williman felt the need to leave and was replaced by Johnnie Marine, now the pastor of Auburn Hills Baptist Church, Pontiac MI., Several other changes took place over the next few years, but Randall Clay and Jim McLain stayed together with Randall as manager. The group went their separate ways in the early 70`s, each member pursuing other ministries. In 2003, forty years after the beginning, the four originals started singing together again reforming The Mariners. Shortly thereafter, Denny Sullivan passed away. Today the group consists of three of the original members: Ray Seaman, Ned Williman and Randall Clay. The fourth member is Eric Shaw.

Search | Add | 23 | Junia Walker | Norman Walker | Reggae singer, writer, producer and label owner. Known as Junior Walker and “Junia” or "Junia Walker" from 1982 and on. Born 1st January 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica. Died 22nd May 2019 in Manchester, UK. After attending high school Junia started working at Barclays Bank and launched his Black Equinox Soundsystem that would mainly play at bank parties. To buy records for his sound system, he could often be found at The Wailer's first Tuff Gong store at 127 King Street, Kingston. Keith Hudson had his office on the second floor of the same building. In 1974, Junia comes into contact with Keith Hudson. Through his contacts at the bank, he was able to help Hudson with the financing of his productions. Junia gave Hudson the idea to record a dub album. Hudson let Junia pick his favourite songs from his own sound system, hence the title of the dub album: 'Pick A Dub'. He made his recording debut around 1975. For a Montego Bay sound system called "Roots Special", he deejayed on 4 tracks from Keith Hudson and 3 tracks from King Tubby, all voiced at King Tubby's. In 1979 he follows Keith Hudson to Queens, New York, to jointly run the Joint International label from there. In the same year Junia's own Jusic International label was launched. His first production released in 1980 is a 12" Disco Mix with Woody Noble, Jah Stitch, and John Steele. Encouraged by King Tubby, he starts his own singing career in 1982. To avoid confusion with the American saxophonist Jr. Walker, he changes his name from Junior to Junia. In 1984 his first album 'Roots, Rock, Reggae Showcase' was released. When Keith Hudson dies a few months later, Junia offers his widow Jean Hudson support in various ways. The Joint International label is being rebuilt into Jusic Joint. From 1988 Junia became involved in booking reggae artists for shows mainly in Houston, Texas, including Tennor Saw (his last performance), Joe Higgs, Sister Carol, Supercat, Horace Andy and Frankie Paul. From the early 00's Junia started (re)releasing most of his recordings. He kept on recording until his untimely death in 2019. In 2011 he released his autobiography: 'Junia Reggae : The Journey from King Street'. |

Search | Add | 23 | Jéssica Cristina | Jéssica Cristina Díaz | Popular merengue singer, was born on 12 December, 1975 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Former Puerto Rican basketball and volleyball star, Jéssica Cristina got involved in music at the age of 15 while participating in a local contest called Juventud Vibra. Her music career started when she was 15 years old when she was discovered at a singing competition. She was soon sined to a recording contract with Sony Music, releasing her first album, Aprendiendo A Querer in 1992, which included her first hit songs, “Cosquillas En El Corazón” and “Todo Es Vida,” recorded with Ricky Martin. Her follow-up release, Mas Allá was released in 1994, where she delved into the merengue style that would mark her place in Latin music world. Her fame as a “merenguera” grew immensely with the release of her next album the very next year: Me Gusta Todo de Ti, on the BMG label. It included hit songs “Necesito Una Persona” and, in tribute to slain Mexican songstress Selena, “Amor Prohibido”, helping to make the album Gold in sales. Despite her success as an artist, Cristina ventured back into the world of sports in 1997, signing to play professional volleyball with the “Volleygirls” team from Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. But Cristina was not long away from her music. Her next album, Natural was another success, particularly in the Dominican Republic, birthplace of the merengue genre. On her 1998 self-titled album, Jessica Cristina, produced by noted Dominican master of merengue, Manuel Tejada, she made her debut as a song writer with “Llanto De Pasión”. Cristina’s latest release, Pasional reflects her growth and maturity, mixing merengue, such as the title song, Pasional along with bachata, pop and ballads. It received good reviews that praised the passion and emotions she convincingly conveys. |

Search | Add | 22 | Joe Maffia | G. Maffia | In love with the famous Motown sound of strong rhythm, layered instrumental and memorable hooks… It wasn’t until the late 90’s, with the first Daft Punk productions, that Joe discovered how Electronic & House Music moved him on a different level. For Joe, music is about exploration. He’s been exploring the world of music since he was 16 years old, when he first began as DJ but was always fascinated by how technology intersect art and so bought himself his first sampling keyboard and started delving into loops, sequencer and beats making. This passion quickly led him to studio productions and touring with different bands around Europe as a Sound Engineer for their live concerts. Fast forward 20 years later, a musician and a producer who actively works with other artists. Joe infuses his Electronic / House / Funk vibe to their tracks, shaping them into something different whilst retaining the essence of the original idea. Joe never wants to be boxed into one genre or have one specific style of music because he sees music as an ever-changing universe where anyone can explore anything they want—and it should never get boring! … and yes, Maffia is his real last name. |
