Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Catamount was his main showcase for the few dozen doo wop, soul, and hiphop records he produced from the 1960s-1990s. In 1975 he formed Classic Harmony Productions, Inc. with [a=Ralph Michael Newman], a production company for live oldies shows. His record shop opened in Jersey City, NJ on John F. Kennedy Blvd near Journal Square in 1965, moved to Bergen Ave near McGinley Square in 1978 and was in business for over 50 years until Stan's death in 2016. Stan's father Stanley Krause owned Kay Records, Inc., a pressing plant located at 110 Bergen Pike in Little Ferry, NJ which operated from at least 1951 to at least 1972 (even after he sold it to [l=Springboard International Records, Inc.] in 1969.) Stan personally pressed all of his 1960s records there, and likely the later output too, which helps explain how he was able to do tiny runs of color variants, including some one-off multicolor pressings, of most of his releases. | |

| Search | Add | 23 | Grand Dominion Jazz Band | The Grand Dominion Jazz Band came together in 1982 as the musical vision of Vancouver banjoist [a=Mike Cox (7)], immigrant to Canada from Wales, who was steeped in the music of the New Orleans revivalist musicians such as George Lewis, Bunk Johnson, Kid Ory, Baby Dodds and others. Mike and his expatriate friends in Vancouver had grown up in the UK listening to Ken Colyer, Chris Barber , Humphrey Lyttelton, and others on the trad jazz scene. Mike decided to put a band of like-minded players together from both sides of the Canada - US border, a band that embodied all the rough-and-ready, hard-driving, ensemble playing characteristics of the revivalist bands. For two weekend concerts, July 16 - 17th, 1982, Mike assembled members of three Pacific Northwestern bands to play two concert dances at the Hot Jazz Club in Vancouver. The band just clicked, and has been going ever since. Inevitably there have been changes over the years and the band has seen the coming and going of some wonderful musicians and friends. There are still three of the original members in the band – leader and piano player [a=Bob Pelland], [a=Gerry Green (2)] and [a=Jim Armstrong (3)]. The newest member of the band is Clint Baker, a great asset, as his love and knowledge of the music helps the band continue to 'Keep The Spirit Alive'. (c) Grand Dominion Jazz Band | |

| Search | Add | 23 | Ken Lemon | New Zealand country singer, active in the 1960's and 1970's. Ken Lemon never gave up his day job. The one time an employer refused to give him time off to go out on tour as part of a Joe Brown package or with his Viking Records labelmate Maria Dallas, he simply quit and found a new job. Based in Auckland, his debut album was released in the United States, England and South Africa in the 1960s and he was a Loxene Golden Disc finalist with ‘Living In A House Full Of Love’, but by the late 1970s he had seemingly disappeared. Born in the seaport town of Barrow-in-Furness in Lancashire, England, in 1939, Lemon did a bit of social singing in pubs and dance halls and occasional talent quests in the 1950s and 60s. He and his brother served apprenticeships as marine coppersmiths, working on electric and atomic submarines, carriers, destroyers and frigates and helping to build the ocean liner SS Oriana, which was launched in November 1959. With their sister and her husband having immigrated to New Zealand, their mother wanted to keep the family together and she and her husband and the two Lemon brothers followed them to Auckland in about 1962. The brothers started work at the dockyard in Devonport as coppersmiths but almost immediately courted trouble by repeatedly turning up late, despite living only half a mile away. Hauled before the naval commander in charge, they were let go. Although his brother soon went back, Ken Lemon took up sheet metal engineering work. After six months or so, he entered a singing competition at the Shiralee in Customs Street, winning his heat and progressing to the final. The manager of the venue engaged Lemon to stay on as the resident singer, performing Friday and Saturday nights and twice on Sundays. A deal was struck with John Ewan of Octagon Records and Lemon found himself in Stebbing Studios recording his debut single ‘Detroit City’, with Rudy & The Crystals backing. His next two singles – a cover of Slim Whitman’s ‘China Doll’ and ‘Sailor Man’, both “arranged and directed” by Viking Records star guitarist Peter Posa – were released in a joint Octagon and Viking effort, although the Whitman and Frank Ifield falsetto of ‘China Doll’ didn’t particularly enthral Viking A&R director Ron Dalton. Lemon’s sister and her husband decided New Zealand wasn’t for them after all and returned to England and bought a pub near London. Lemon’s Octagon releases found their way to the pub’s jukebox where they eventually wore out. When Lemon and band started playing at dances at the Surfside Ballroom in Milford, Dalton popped by for another listen just as Lemon was putting his rich baritone to its best use on Jim Reeves’ ‘He’ll Have To Go’. Now Dalton’s ears pricked up. He put Lemon together with Mike Perjanik and his band at Stebbings, the singer pulling country songs from his repertoire, running through them and putting them to tape all in one weekend. The result was his debut LP This Hombre Called Lemon, produced by Dalton and released on Viking in December 1965, which included Roger Miller’s ‘King Of The Road’, Don Gibson’s ‘Oh Lonesome Me’ and New Zealand songwriter Jim Ruane’s ‘I’m Leaving Town’. He undertook the first of three national Miss New Zealand tours for promoter Joe Brown, organising time off from his employers to further his music career. He struck up a great friendship with singer Eddie Low, who had already spent a lot of time in Australia, and Low got in Lemon’s ear about the opportunities there. But with a wife and child and a mortgage, Lemon wasn’t prepared to take the risk of crossing the Tasman. He really hit his straps in 1966 with The Second Album, which was recorded at HMV’s studio in Wellington with musical director Garth Young, and Dalton again producing. It opened with probably his best-known song ‘Living In A House Full Of Love’ (a Loxene Golden Disc finalist in 1966) and included no less than seven Lee Hazlewood compositions – ‘Houston’ and ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’’ among them. Lemon’s parents and brother opted to go back to England. A proud Mrs Lemon took copies of her son’s LPs and they were played on the ship’s sound system, but she drew the line at leaving them with the entertainment officer to pass on to the company’s head office. This Hombre Called Lemon was released on the Roulette label in the United States in 1967. Lemon even received fan mail from there asking him where they could find more of his records. Lemon toured with Maria Dallas, featuring on the live LP The Maria Dallas Country Show, released in 1967. The two were teamed up for the album Face To Face the same year, although they didn’t sing together on the record. At the close of the 1960s, he became a regular performer on the Tex Morton-hosted NZBC television show The Country Touch, often as a duet partner for Kay Reilly. After several years of little promotion or airplay with Viking Records, Lemon was approached by one of Joe Brown’s employees and told that Brown was interested in recording him but wouldn’t touch him while he was under contract to Viking. The self-managed Lemon had looked on enviously while John Hore had released two or so LPs a year on Brown’s label, which were then heavily pushed. It was easy enough to get out of the Viking deal, but all Lemon could do then was wait to hear from the Brown camp. After a few months of being fobbed off by the employee who had first approached him, Joe Brown was in Auckland and Lemon decided to confront him. Brown admitted to being too busy with John Hore to give Lemon any thought and the two men ceased communications. In 1972, Eldred Stebbing invited Lemon to record a low-cost album for his Zodiac label. The inevitably titled A Slice Of Lemon was produced and arranged by Barry Clewett with Bruce Lynch on guitar and featured songs by Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Jimmie Rodgers. But when the production went over budget, Stebbing refused to spend any money on promotion and it sunk. Touring without the Joe Brown machine behind him was a struggle. Not able to play an instrument himself, Lemon would arrive in town with Clewett’s carefully arranged lead sheets to find the pick-up band couldn’t read music. Four hours of rehearsal would hardly improve the situation. He was called on to sing Glyn Tucker’s ‘Hard Lines, Son’ on TV’s Studio One song contest in 1974, competing against artists such as Ray Columbus, Bunny Walters, Shona Laing and a pre-Mi-Sex Steve Gilpin. The exposure helped rustle up some work but it soon trickled down to just the occasional club date. There was a brief return to the studio in 1986 when songwriter Harry McRae requested Lemon to record his song celebrating the Waipa Delta paddleboat, ‘Roll On Waikato’. The 45 was released on Festival Records and produced by Gray Bartlett. Always putting family first and without the pushy nature required to get himself out there, Ken Lemon never received the accolades he deserved, and it’s impossible to hear those opening bars of ‘Living In A House Full Of Love’ – with its thumping bass drum and dirty guitar and then that big, resonant voice – without wondering how he didn’t. | |

The twin brothers, multi–instrumentalists–Rafael and Damian, started playing when they were kids in a band Pantograf that was a part of municipal transport corporation. The brothers created their own band a bit later with their then bassist (later the lead singer and the guitarist of the Cracow blues formation KGB) Paweł Małysiak "Pawka". Their activity of that time as well as studio recordings were still little bashful. Between 1982 and 1988 they recorded their music on tapes at a home studio and distributed them in Poland and abroad in samizdat by three publishing houses: B.N.exp, ARS2, AML. In 1986 Damian and Rafael started another group Fragmenty R–27 (later called simply R–27) Encouraged by another band’s success (ZAOS) R–27 they continued their artistic performance for the next four years. The line–up changed over the years: Andrzej Jarzyna was the first drummer, Piotr Nodzeń was the second bassist and Darek Kaszubski played bongos, still the core members stayed invariable: Rafael Kozub (keyboard and percussion, vocals and composer), Damian Kozub (percussion, vocals, piano and composing), Rafał Walczowski "Walek" (bassist), Piotr Łabuzek "Buzer" (trumpet, vocals and synthesizer) and Paweł Ochel "Rudy" (guitar and vocals). The brothers gave a lot of concerts with this controversial band in their home town Cracow (at a club and Podwawelski Cinema, twice at Nowohuckie Culture Centre (NCK), at Wola Zoo Club and Białoprądnicki Manor House, etc.) They also took part in a few big events such as: in Skawina – "O.D.K" club , in Katowice – "Akant" student club, at a "Festiwal Muzyki Odjazdowej", "O To Chodzi" club in Rzeszów, in Warsaw – "Remont" club and at "Marchewka" Festival in "Riviera" club – together with the composer Zbigniew Lampart – the then manager of Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów. The mistrust towards those vigorous performances, however very remote from post–punk culture, that the band would give, made R–27 abandon further tours and giving accidental gigs. Apart from tape recordings the brothers published numerous brochures, papers such as: Alter – edited with Robert Kramaric and features – later used by Henryk Palczewski in his guide ARS2. In 1988 the brothers started publishing cooperation with Mariusz Błachowicz and in the middle of 1989 met musicians: Ireneusz Socha, Arkadiusz Franczyk and Andrzej Kramarz (Kirkut–Koncept and Na Przykład) with whom they recorded "Sen Wczorajszy" in October 1989. On emigration the brothers pursued solo careers. Having settled down in Rhineland – Westphalia (Germany) they carried out their musical projects till late 90’s – especially Damian who recorded even till 2007. The projects have been published on tapes and CD’s. His later attempt to start a band with Peter Sohn from Wuppertal wasn’t successful. |

| Search | Add | 22 | Joe Maffia | G. Maffia | In love with the famous Motown sound of strong rhythm, layered instrumental and memorable hooks… It wasn’t until the late 90’s, with the first Daft Punk productions, that Joe discovered how Electronic & House Music moved him on a different level. For Joe, music is about exploration. He’s been exploring the world of music since he was 16 years old, when he first began as DJ but was always fascinated by how technology intersect art and so bought himself his first sampling keyboard and started delving into loops, sequencer and beats making. This passion quickly led him to studio productions and touring with different bands around Europe as a Sound Engineer for their live concerts. Fast forward 20 years later, a musician and a producer who actively works with other artists. Joe infuses his Electronic / House / Funk vibe to their tracks, shaping them into something different whilst retaining the essence of the original idea. Joe never wants to be boxed into one genre or have one specific style of music because he sees music as an ever-changing universe where anyone can explore anything they want—and it should never get boring! … and yes, Maffia is his real last name. |

| Search | Add | 22 | Sam Maxion | Sam Maxion | Sam Maxion (born January 2, 1971), known also by Slammin’ Sam, DJ Slammin’ Sam or Slam, is a Filipino-American Dj, Remixer, Producer. During the height of the “West Coast Freestyle" music period (mid 1990s to 2000), his signature sound was reflective in his productions, remixes & original tracks which topped Billboard charts and radio air waves playlists. Growing up in Pittsburg, CA, took up piano playing at 12. He graduated from Pittsburg High School. Continued studies in recording arts & journalism at Los Medanos College and Diablo Valley College. Throughout his early teens, Maxion proceeded to refine his dj skills through various dj groups and performing at various events. Creating mixtapes for school friends and family members. These cassette mixtapes were highly structured productions, utilizing the “pause button” technique of editing. Compiling a “series” of mixtapes that are now remastered and available for download.[1] Maxion entered a “dj mix-off” held by San Francisco radio station, put together by then radio mixer Cameron Paul. His submission was chosen as number 2 among over 1500 entries. The actual recording of this on-air announcement and the mix is available. Soon after, Maxion, djed at several night clubs throughout the Bay Area, even though he wasn’t of age (under 21). Maxion continued to further expand on the music direction by constructing a home-based recording studio. Equipment included were: Emax II sampling keyboard, 4 track Tascam recorder, Alesis multitrack, to name a few. Early career Maxion interned at San Francisco radio station Wild 107 (now Wild 94.9) with Dj LuvCheez of the Mancow Morning Show. Host Mancow requested a production song utilizing the cartoon “Underdog”. Maxion obliged and put together a track incorporating samples taken from various videos. It was aired and the response was positive. Then-Program Director Rick Thomas heard the production and decided to give Maxion a chance as a “mixer” for the station. Thomas wanted Maxion to have a nickname. Several were used: sizzlin, smokin’. After some deliberating, “Slammin’” was the agreed name, thus began “Slammin’ Sam”. Maxion began putting together mixshows for all periods of the day including weekend slots. Transition to Producer/Mixer Maxion left radio to focus on the development of his company “Slammin’ Entertainment”. A full-fledge dj, recording studio & record label service. Teamed up with Galaxy Freestyle Records producer/songwriter Randy Taylor-Weber on the worldwide hit “In A Dream” (Maxion provide engineering as well as co-production input). The first successful original production project was the S Factor, with lead singer Sharyn Maceren. The single “Hard to Get” rose up the dance charts in the Bay Area and throughout the country. With the momentum build from the initial single, Maxion was in demand by several major labels for remix work (See discography for full listing). His remix of “Forget About Dre” was featured on “Hollywood Hamilton’s Top 30″, syndicated show in Los Angeles/New York. Maxion released several albums Throughout the production & remix work, Maxion continued djing at clubs and radio stations throughout the world. (see discography for full listings). Since Wild 107, his radio station stints includes KNUQ (Hawaii), KPTY (Phoenix), KSFM (Sacramento), & recently Wild 106 (San Luis Obispo). Current music career Maxion conducts weekly studio sessions providing remix and original production work, djs at various club events throughout the East Bay California area. In 2009, Maxion released “Excitor” mixtape, a collection of party tracks as well as original work such as “Aura” featuring Ladysage, “Take Control” feat. Venom, Charizma, & Ladysage. Maxion was featured in a Contra Costa Times article review of the DJ Hero video game. In 2012 will be releasing "Excitor 3" mixtape album. Maxion is involved in several endeavors outside of music. In 2009, founded TVEPN "The Virtual Entertainment Programming Network". Portal site that covers pop culture, music, gaming & entertainment. The site is home of "The Slam Show". Weekly online variety talk show presented on ustream & iTunes. Broadcast live every Monday night @ 8pm pst. Maxion hobbies include:Texas hold 'em Poker tournaments, fantasy football (In 2009, won 3 championships). Working out and running. (Yearly participant of the "Bay to Breakers" marathon in San Francisco). Die hard San Francisco 49er fan. RIP Ed "Doe" Maxion. |

| Search | Add | 22 | Sah'lomon | Sahlomon Remy Ngoua | Born as Salomon Remy Ngoua in Republic of Congo, Sah'lomon is brilliant composer, composer and instrumentalist. His interest in music stated at the age 10. An idea both parents objected. At age 14 Sah'lomon had mastered the guitar(solo, rhythm and bass guitars). He enjoyed entertaining his classmates during break periods so much that every student of his high school would love to pay to see him perform. At the age of 16 he was selected to join the National Youth Orchestra of Congo. He was the youngest musician to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Congo at the country's 11th annual festival held in Cuba. He has been chosen more than any other artist to represent his country at the international level. His career as a full time musician started with the band "Sinza Kotoko" (with Pierre Moutouari). Baantous de la Capital (with Pamelo Mounka - may his soul rest in peace), Le 1 Success de zao. Sah'lomon did not only play Rhumba and Soukouss music, but is also a versatile composer of Rock and R&B music to suit the African style. In 1982 he arrived in Paris where he co-founded "Les Officers" (with Tchico Tchicaya) "Mbamina", "Loketo" with (Aurlus Mabele and Diblo Dibala) and "Soukouss Stars" (with Lokassa and Dali Kimoko) In 1992 he formed the group "Zimbabwe" and recorded his smash hits Sarrah and Rama which set Africa on fire and then penetrated the European and American markets. His style of Soukouss is so unique that most fans sometimes conclude he is from one of the West African countries of Mali, Senegal or Chad but better believe it, Sah'lomon is proud to be a "Congolese". Taxi Diarabi from the Africantilles CD reinforced his international recognition as the King of Soukouss. Then came the hit single "Mami Wata Nicole" from the "I Love You" CD backed by the Ivorian singer Hindirah which clearly demonstrates Sah'lomon's talent as a versatile musician. Finally "Le Vrai Roi du Soukouss" (The Actual or real King of Soukouss) arrives with his album "Happy Birthday". |
