Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 19 Jeff Thomass Lutz Wollersen born: 16th June 1955 - died: 1st October 2023 (aged 68) Lutz was born in Schleswig and was taken to Hamburg by his parents, where he was allowed to grow up. After graduating from high school, the lot fell on Filmkaufmann. After successfully completing this training, he then went to university to study musicology and also English and psychology. His father, Egon, was an actor and singer, his mother, Inge, played classical piano. He had acting lessons with Erla Prollius and he learned tap dancing with Arthur Bankmann, who had already danced in films with Marika Rökk. Lutz developed a liking for the music and lifestyle of the American 50s and 60s early on. This also explains the founding of the doo-wop band "Kool Cad' And The Tailfins" in the mid-70s. The formation brought it to two LPs and three singles with the hit "Rama Lama Ding Dong". For the hit "I Should, Should Dance" he adopted the pseudonym "Jeff Thomass", under which he released 1 LP and 3 singles on Teldec, which were also successful in France and gave him three major TV shows in Paris and France Cannes bestowed. In Germany there was also the "Goldene Europa" for the best newcomer in 1986. In the 80s Lutz became a member of the show band "Rudolf Rock & die Schocker", After a private break and a few failures, he abruptly ended his work as a solo performer and founded the company "City Jive Musicproductions" in the early 1990s, with which he composed and produced music and sound design for TV commercials. Lutz was a part-time member of the "Skyliner Big Band", the big band of the University of Hamburg, and since he has always enjoyed crooners like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin or Sammy Davis Jr., the path was somehow predetermined.

Search Add 19 Владимир Глоцер Владимир Иосифович Глоцер (Vladimir Iosifovich Glotser) Russian literary critic, scholar, screenwriter, and essayist (27 July 1931, Moscow, USSR — 19 April 2009, Moscow, Russia). Vladimir Glotzer is best known for his extensive research and publications of the early-Soviet era avantgardists and neo-futurists, most notably, OBeRIu group (the "Union of Real Art;" ОБэРИу, Объединение Реального Искусства in Russian), including [a=Daniil Charms], Alexander Vvedensky and Nikolay Oleynikov. In the 1990 and 2000s, he was heavily criticized as an official representative of Alexander Vvedensky's estate, effectively blocking any writer's publications and aggressively prosecuting several publishers. Vladimir Glotser began his career as a secretary for Korney Chukovsky and Samuil Marshak. Between the 1950s and 1970s, he was a head of a literary studio at the Lomonosov Children's Library. Glotser also directed numerous radio plays, with over 50 children's LPs and 10" records released by Melodiya. In modern Russia, Vladimir Glotser focused on early-Soviet experimental literature, primarily [a=Daniil Charms] and Alexander Vvedensky. In the 1980s, he assembled and published memoirs of renowned painter Alisa Poret (1902—1984), which served as one of the primary biographical sources on Kharms. In 1996, he tracked down the writer's second wife, Marina Durnovo (née Malich; 1909—2002), who escaped the Soviet Union after Daniil Charms passed away in 1942 and lived in Venezuela at the time. Glotser taped a series of interviews with Marina, subsequently published as a critically acclaimed My husband Daniil Kharms memoir in 2000. Since the early 1990s, Vladimir Glotser had officially represented Alexander Vvedensky's estate. His approach was heavily criticized, as Glotser effectively made the writer's texts unavailable by demanding non-negotiable and unreasonable royalties and threatening legal action for unauthorized publications. Moreso, Glotser sued several companies for pre-existing material. According to renowned philologist Mikhail Meilakh (who co-published a four-volume "samizdat" edition by Daniil Charms in Bremen, Germany, in 1978–88), Glotser's lawsuit against "Sovetsky Pisatel" printing house for '94 OBeRIu Poets book drove the publisher out of business.

Search Add 19 Lucho Azcarraga Luis Enrique Azcárraga Deliot Lucho Azcarraga was born on January 1st, 1912 in Panama City, Panama. When he was 6 months old, he contracted polio which caused atrophy to his left leg. Instead of this becoming an obstacle for him, he learned to manage his disability to his advantage and was able to work wonders with the organ pedals. His musical career began at the age of 8 when he started playing an old piano at home. His sister America discovered his musical abilities and taught him his first music lessons. When his father realized his son was an innate musician, he had the renowned piano teacher, Maria Ines Endara de Riba, provide formal classes for him.At the age of 9, he was earning tips by playing for Union Club members who gathered at the club every afternoon. Soon after that, he was getting paid to play at parties held there. He formed his first band while attending high school at the National Institute. Jose Manuel "Chema" Varela played the flute, his brother Roberto Azcarraga, the drums and Encarnacion Picota, the violin. He got a job at a local theater providing background music for silent movies, and in 1930 he traveled to the United States with the intention of taking organ lessons. While there, he auditioned for organist Lew White who after hearing him play said: "That is the way I'd like to play." Lucho received many honors during his brilliant career such as two Panamanian government decoration medals and several civic club honors. He delighted many audiences with his lively, high spirited performances, including England's Queen Elizabeth, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and many others. He performed at the New York's World Fair, at Rockefeller Center and at many Army posts in the United States; also in Puerto Rico, in most of the Central and South American countries and on many cruise ships. . He played and enjoyed his music until a few days before his peaceful death on Nov. 10, 1996.

He was also been part of the band [a=Trio Bapno Bossi], which he and his friends [a=Borislav] and [a=Slobodan (5)] founded in 2021. The band released an album called "Best of" in late 2022. The band breakup in 2023 after their live performance of "Novi Sad Brigade". He has been involved in producing music for his friend [a=Borislav] since 2023. In his war music videos, he wore a scarf and sunglasses to hide his identity and music videos were inspirated by 90's Yugoslavian war music videos. His personal life is completely unknown. About his war music: He started making music by accident in 2017 with the first demo song called "Cat Song" which was only 7 seconds long. His first studio album was "Collection", released in early 2021, which was related to Sweden-bashing and Finnish politics. He was originally supposed to release only one album, but he decided to release "Collection 2" in the late 2021, which was a continuation to the previous album. In 2022, Grand Vah began to follow the politics of the former Yugoslavia and was inspired to make the next album "Collection 3" according to him, the album was made respecting the Serbian Turbofolk music. In 2023 he released a sequel album "Collection. 4 The Last War Album", and it was his last album that related to politics or war. All Collection named albums were released in CD, DVD and C-Cassette formats. He has released an album of his live performance called "Live Compilation" which is also in DVD format.

Search Add 19 Yoonsang 이윤상(李潤相) Yoonsang is a singer and a composer who released his debut in 1990. There is a fairy-tale about his debut. He wanted to be a producer and a studio engineer, but by chance, he sang a song for a guide to a singer whose name is Kim Min-Woo, because that singer’s voice was not good. And his boss found and heard that. After hearing the song, his boss suggested to him that he could be a singer. After debut, his first regular album got massive hit. His legendary song named 'Beyond Veiled Time' released in 1992 and he got another success. However, after that, he changed his style to electronic sound and tested so many musical experiments. In 2003, he went to U.S. to study sound engineering because of the limitation. He said "When I was young, I wanted to be a musician. But I couldn't find the way because my dream came true early, so I didn't know what I can do for future.". During the studying abroad, he composed some song for singers and documentaries. Especially, the soundtrack of the documentary 'Noodle Road' was sensational. After studying, he came back to Korea and created so many songs for famous singers like [a=IU (3)], [a=Ga-In], [a=Yoon Jong Shin], and even some idol groups. Also, He composed music for the game. All of sounds from the MMORPG '[r=4342897]' are directed by him. In this September, he revealed his new single 'If You Wanna Consoles Me'.

Search Add 19 Ibro Mangafić Ibrahim Mangafić He was born on October 13, 1951. in Sarajevo and from an early age he was involved in music. He died on May 5, 2023 in his home. As a thirteen-year-old, he started playing the giatra more seriously, and at the age of fifteen he had his own band "Plavi Dijamant". After the breakup of this group, in November 1967, Ibro complets the orchestra, in which he was joined by Ljubo Kešelj (accordionist), Čurkan Durić (drummer) and Paša Bikić (singer). At one time, they performed in restaurants all over Yugoslavia at the time, and mostly in Sarajevo. After completing his military service in 1973, he entered the world of music, entertainment and composing in a more serious and engaged way. That's when the lyrics for his first song "Ti kraljice moga srca" were written, sung by Nedžad Imamović, accompanied by the RTV Sarajevo orchestra. His professional music career had a continuous upward trend. Since 1973, he has composed over 700 songs (LP-records, music cassettes, compact discs and DVD albums) for various record companies. Many of his compositions are considered pearls of folk music and an immeasurable wealth of folk melodrama, such as: "Ti si ta", "Sa, sa Sarajevo", "Kani suzo izdajice", "Poslejnji put veceras", "Dijana ljubavi", "Kad raskopčam jeleče", "Otiso si Dragane", "Tvoje oci plave", "Izadji mala, "Garavuso moja mala", "Prosjak ili car", "Kad bi zivot moj sto godina bio" and lots more. As a composer, he collaborated with the best orchestras from ex-Yugoslavia, such as: the orchestra of Branimir Đokić, Dragan Aleksandrić, Ljuba Kešelj, Dragan Stojković Bosanc, Miroljub Aranđelović Kemiš, Omer Pobrić, Dulet Jovanović, Bora Višnjički, Mića Radovanović. In the course of his long career, he also left a noticeable mark as a member of many organizations and associations, whose goal was the improvement of musical culture and creativity, including the protection of intellectual property and copyright. He is the owner of dozens of gold, platinum and diamond records, as well as Disko-olympus, which he received in 1983 as Diskoton's highest recognition for the highest circulation achieved in that year, over 500,000 copies.

Search Add 19 Wetzone Small Beginning one day in 2011, when Kony decided to make a fat beat with Tendros. The song "Genitals Touch Tonight" became an instant hit. Following that next year, in January of 2012, Kony, P-Dog, Tendros and others collaborated on "The Salvia Tapes." The experience was profound and radical. This EP induced a psychosis on its curators much as it did friends. Later that year on 4/20 both Kony and Tendros produced "The 420 Tapes," which was another success. Time passed, and many albums were made that are now gone forever. In June of 2013, Tendros and P-Dog grouped together in one night to create the first of the NSA series, "NSA Is Watching." Throughout the summer once about every 3-4 weeks they would continue to create albums in this manner, albums such as "No, nod now," "Sorghum" and "NSAZone." One month after the NSA series an unfortunate flood took away Kony and his life. Following months of sadness, in June of 2014 Wetzone released "feeble meanings to stay alive," which received very little acclaim. There were no releases for another year, until the release of "Wetshow," this was seen as a success to the creators of the album and fans of the band. 4 months later, after the band had found an apartment together, they released an album "Wetz X One." Only a month later Wetzone released the album "bLack." Both of these albums were praised by the fans, but are often dubbed "Wetzone & Friends" because the friends and roommates of Wetzone were involved in all of the recordings. December of the same year the self titled album, "Wetzone," was released. Unlike the 2 albums before this only P-Dog and Tendros were active in the recording. This album is often claimed to be the best of their work, and also received limited play on a local radio station. After a year hiatus the album "Unknown Feels" was released.

Search Add 19 Evan Ljunggren Swedish engineer and producer that ran [l=Falks Studio] in Eksjö and label owner of [l528458]. He passed away on January 15, 2020. Evan was born in 1931 outside Vetlanda in Småland. In his teens at home in Tånghult, he built a simple speaker to be able to listen to the radio in the room next door, despite the fact that he was only allowed to go to school for six years. He was interested in photography and sound and he made recordings with artists and choirs in churches and homesteads as early as the 1940s. He handled everything from engraving machines and tape recorders to today's digital technology. In 1952, Evan met his future wife Vivi-Anne, a salvation soldier who both sang and drove bus as profession. They married in 1955 and the sons Bengt and Kjell became part of the family business early on. He acquired the shop Falks Foto in Eksjö in 1959 at the age of 28. The shop was located at Norra Storgatan 25. In 1963 it moved to Västerlånggatan and in 1965 to Södra Storgatan 5. Around the same years he built Falk's Studio at home in the basement. The very first recording in his studio was with his wife, who sang and played with Anna-Lisa Lindén and Gunnar Holmgren. The EP was produced in 50 copies. At Easter 1963 he made his first studio first recording not involving the family. At the beginning, Evan rented a basement room in central Eksjö and Målle Lindberg came there to record. When the recording was to continue the following Saturday, the neighbors complained about the noise. Instead, they finished the recording at Målle's sister in Bänarp. The then young singer duo Curt & Roland were also present. Evan launched business model where the artist had to pay a lump sum upfront, covering the recording and 100 records that you could sell yourself. In 1967, Evan began a collaboration with singer-evangelist Artur Erikson. The LP "När den evigt klara morgon gryr" sold 25,000 copies and became Sweden's first "religious" gold record. When Artur Erikson made a Christmas record together with Anna-Lena Löfgren, it also became gold. The technician on that record was a young Michael B Tretow who, together with Artur Erikson, Anna-Lena Löfgren and Evan Ljunggren, received his first gold record. The award ceremony took place in Expressenhuset in January 1970. Years later, Michael B Tretow became the sound engineer for ABBA. In the autumn of 1967, 17-year-old Agnetha Fältskog made her first record recording in the studio in Evans' basement. She came from Jönköping together with [a7743028] and when the recording was finished, Evan posted a copy of the tape to Little Gerhard who was a producer at a large record company in Stockholm. Shortly afterwards, Agnetha Fältskog ended up at Svensktoppen. Much later, in 1982, Lena Philipsson came in with her mother and made a demo recording. He also worked with Jokkmokks-Jokke, Carola, Göingeflickorna, Pelle Näver, Lapp-Lisa, Lars Gullin, Kjell Öhman, Arvid Sundin, Anna-Lena Löfgren, Stålfarfar, Ingeborg Nyberg and the Christian country duo Bosse & Anita. When he and his wife Vivi-Anne met a Polish singer visiting Småland in the late 1970s, he started an aid organization which over the years has provided donations worth around SEK 200 million to Poland. He was awarded the Polish Order of Commanders - a medal in gold and red with a blue silk ribbon. He was invited to the Royal Palace in Stockholm to meet King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia in connection with Gustaf "Stålfarfar" Håkansson's 100th birthday 1985. Swedish Radio has also turned to Falks Studio for help in converting old recording formats, like old thread recordings. Evans' youngest son, Bengt Ljunggren, has compiled a book about his father's life. Over the years, over 1,000 recordings have been made at Falks Studio and until the 1980s there could be 50-60 titles a year. In 1984, he sold the photo shop, still under the name Falks Foto. The business was taken over by Margit Petersson and Gun-Britt Gustafsson. He continued recording in his studio all the way to the end. The last artist he recorded was Lyckans Trio from Eksjö.

Switched on by the bump music that played between shows on Adult Swim, a late night block of cartoons that airs on Cartoon Network, Khalil became intrigued by the beats that would play and dreamed that one day he could make and hear his own beats being played. From then on he began to study music even more by picking up violin and learning the guitar as a basis to understanding the fundamental structure of music and its foundation. Soon after becoming more exposed to music of different genres, styles and cultures alongside the various beat makers that can be found on such labels as Ghostly International, Warp, Alpha Pup, Stones Throw, Leaving Records, Brainfeeder, Young Arts Records and other legendary beat makers such as J Dilla, Madlib, Black Milk, Nujabes and Dibia$e, he began crafting his own individual sound of expression to constantly evolve as an artist and a person.

Search Add 19 Grand Dominion Jazz Band The Grand Dominion Jazz Band came together in 1982 as the musical vision of Vancouver banjoist [a=Mike Cox (7)], immigrant to Canada from Wales, who was steeped in the music of the New Orleans revivalist musicians such as George Lewis, Bunk Johnson, Kid Ory, Baby Dodds and others. Mike and his expatriate friends in Vancouver had grown up in the UK listening to Ken Colyer, Chris Barber , Humphrey Lyttelton, and others on the trad jazz scene. Mike decided to put a band of like-minded players together from both sides of the Canada - US border, a band that embodied all the rough-and-ready, hard-driving, ensemble playing characteristics of the revivalist bands. For two weekend concerts, July 16 - 17th, 1982, Mike assembled members of three Pacific Northwestern bands to play two concert dances at the Hot Jazz Club in Vancouver. The band just clicked, and has been going ever since. Inevitably there have been changes over the years and the band has seen the coming and going of some wonderful musicians and friends. There are still three of the original members in the band – leader and piano player [a=Bob Pelland], [a=Gerry Green (2)] and [a=Jim Armstrong (3)]. The newest member of the band is Clint Baker, a great asset, as his love and knowledge of the music helps the band continue to 'Keep The Spirit Alive'. (c) Grand Dominion Jazz Band

Search Add 19 فاطمة الزحافة Fatima Tahiri Bent Larbi Fatima Zehafa was a Moroccan aita singer. She was born in 1938 in Settat, and started her career at an early age by joining small rural music bands at 13 years old. She started to become known in the Chaouia region as soon as 1955 with the return from exile of the late King Mohammed V and the various popular festivals that were organized at that time ; however her fame is to be attributed, in addition to the numerous songs engraved during her career, to the great success obtained by the song "Zaouia" released in 1965. The Zaouia (a Muslim religious building) to which the song refers is that of the town of Sidi Smaïl located not far from Settat. Though suffering from a serious disability, the singer did not spare and has been constantly performing during her life at celebrations, weddings and official events in her hometown. As has often happened to other Moroccan artists she died on 29 October 2000, in her home town, in a state of extreme poverty in complete denial of the great artistic contribution she has given to her country.
