Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Mucus McCain | Kevin "GG" Allin | Credited as guitarist on recordings by GG Allin’s Scumfucs releases, Mucus McCain is actually a collective pseudonymn for both Allin and Al Mead (aka Scumfucs bassist Al Lee Slime). Rhythm guitar parts on Scumfucs recordings were played by either Allin or Mead, depending on who composed the music, while all of the lead guitar parts were done solely by Mead. Allin would later revive the pseudonymn for the GG Allin & The Murder Junkies EP in 1991, for which he actually played the bass tracks. |

In 2004 they made the decision to work together. Their sets are always straight forward, deep and dark with a pinch of craziness and the ability to make the crowd dance. In 2014 they released their debut EP, "Atari Mindgames" under their old alias Gleichlaufartisten. At the end of 2015 they started their new project "Synchronism". Booking: booking@cube-plus.eu

Search | Add | 2 | Crossfire Duo | Crossfire Duo consisted of percussionists Bob Fullex and Jason Bauers, and was active from 2010 through 2013. The two drummers met as teenagers in the wintry barracks of Buffalo, NY, taking lessons from the same local teacher, and continued their collaboration in grad school at SUNY Buffalo. The group took their name from one of the first pieces they tackled, Richard Festinger’s Gordian, stamina-testing, Crossfire, which they spent a year perfecting. Always a collaborative project, Crossfire built their distinctive repertoire from the ground up, commissioning new works from Rust Belt-based composers with whom they worked very closely, allowing these artists to help shape the duo into what it became (their only stipulation being that each piece’s percussion battery be able to wedge into a small sedan for touring). Through intense basement sessions marked by trial, error, and experimentation, Crossfire and their collaborators cultivated an eccentric arsenal of pieces marked by a variety of newly-developed and highly-nuanced techniques, including some works–like Jacob Gotlib’s Portrait Sequence (Blanching Out) and Megan Grace Buegger’s Daring Doris–that didn’t even involve striking a single object. The duo performed these works around the Midwest and at prestigious festivals alongside ensembles such as the Slee Sinfonietta. Bob and Jason’s work eventually took them to different parts of the state, forcing Crossfire to hang up their sticks, but not before the duo executed an impressive recording of some of the key pieces of their rep. Recently unearthed, their album Vellum was released by Infrasonic Press in Summer 2023.

Search | Add | 2 | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV is local band from Las Vegas, that started its professional musical journey on 2018. They are pigeonholed in the “Melodic Thrash Metal” genre. The band Madzilla LV is integrated by: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Daniel Gortaire (Bass) - David Oliveri (Guitar) - Robert Wiggin (Drums) They seek to transcend their music, to be heard by audiences of all ages, and carry their ideology through their music. An unfortunate car accident in 2010, in which David Cabezas, creator of the band, lost a great childhood friend, lead to the creation of the band’s earliest single “Judgment Day”, a song dedicated to the final moments of life, and the loss of a loved one. Other singles, like their most recent single “Vengeance”, criticize a selfish society that seeks power beyond all else, and the repercussions it creates. Madzilla LV’s members come from an extensive background in the music scene, having performed, recorded, and toured in several occasions with several different bands. Today, Madzilla LV is ready to launch their EP, and will be touring in the not to distant future. P.S. The beginnings of the band date back to 2016 when David Cabezas has complete band members and Madzilla is formed. The first composition of the band was as follows: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Andres Borbon (Bass) - Carlos Alvarez (Guitar) - Andres Estrella (Drums) The original location is Quito, Ecuador. In 2017, David Cabezas moves to the United States to Las Vegas and completes new members of the band and the letters LV (Las Vegas) appear next to the band name. |

Search | Add | 2 | Distant Flows | Distant Flow’s journey into music began at the age of 7 in Le Muy, South of France where he would struggle with the confines and lack of creativity that regimented piano lessons offer; instead of listening to his tutor he would dance about and disobey. As a teenager he played guitar in metal bands; a good precursor to the dark heavy beats and melancholic electronic style we hear today. The age of 18 was a turning point for Distant Flows; whilst at college he discovered he could make music on his own, with complete creative freedom with only his laptop and whilst simultaneously discovering bands like Pendulum, who were blurring the lines between Heavy Metal and Drum and Bass, he investigated further falling deeper down the rabbit hole discovering the energy-fuelled worlds of Drum and Bass, Neurofunk, Dub and Dub-step. Distant Flows was blown away, hooked and eager to start producing his own music, originally using soft-synths, drawing inspiration from the likes of Burial and Exission. These days Distant Flows prefers producing with hard-synths, he’s no ‘synth snob’ and has no problem with soft-synths, describing hard-synths as something of a luxury, but enjoys playing and experimenting with something that is tangible. He finds the limitations of hard-sytnhs keeps him focused; finding it harder to end up with something that sounds overproduced “You see amazing people just playing guitar in the street, so it’s not all about the equipment”. Distant Flows finds making music cathartic, it’s his release and finds it to be partially self-defining. Over the past couple of years has found himself to be at ease with the process, describing making music being similar to speaking a second language, “you have to get the grammar in place first, otherwise it’s super simple and functional”. In 2017 Distant Flows set his sights on Bristol, he wanted to move due to the rich music history in the city, “In the South of France, I knew no one making electronic music, and that is the real difference with Bristol.” Distant Flows describes his music as moody, melancholic without being too dark, almost like an enjoyable sadness. He has many influences, but is particularly interested in the careers of Paul Kalkbrenner, Lorn and Jon Hopkins.

Search | Add | 2 | Laura Beard | Laura Renee Beard | Laura Beard (6 October 1979, El Paso — 23 March 1997, Fabens, El Paso County, Texas) was an American bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, best known as the co-founder of post-hardcore/emo/punk band [a=The Fall On Deaf Ears] in 1996 with [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala] of [a=At The Drive-In] and [a=Clint Newsom] (from [a=Rhythm Of Black Lines] and [a=The Hades Kick]). Laura extensively collaborated with her lifelong friend, [a=Sarah Reiser], who played guitar in the FODE. One of their earliest joint projects, Rope, became the first "all-women" band to reach acclaim on the predominantly male West Texas punk scene. Laura and Sarah played in other local bands and published a feminist "riot grrrl" zine, Femme Fatale, together. They died in a single car accident at only 17; Bixler and Newsom posthumously published surviving material and dedicated a few songs and records to them. Beard grew up in El Paso, where she began making music with her childhood friend, [a=Sarah Reiser], in the early teens. They co-founded "Rope" and joined "The Glitter Girls," an all-girl punk group formed by Laura's classmate, Kristin Woodward; she invited [a=Clint Newsom], whose cousin Amanda also joined this band, to one of the practices, where he met and befriended Laura and Sarah. As Rope began gaining traction on the local El Paso scene, two friends met [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala], a prolific drummer and vocalist who co-founded several bands, such as Foss, the [a=Dregtones], and, most notably, [a=At The Drive-In]. Laura and Sarah contributed backing vocals on the ATDI's second 7" single, [m=333386], which came out on Cedric's label [l=Western Breed Records] in 1995 and soon began playing with him. Clint Newsom joined shortly after, and they established [a=The Fall On Deaf Ears]. The band only lasted for several months but was productive, extensively performing live; in May 1996, FODE recorded a five-song demo tape with [a=Mike Major] at [l=Rosewood Studios]. They disbanded amicably by the late Fall, playing the last show at The Rugburn in El Paso. In early 1997, Laura again started to make music with Sarah, singing and playing acoustic guitars. The newly-formed duo gave one concert, opening for [a=Long Hind Legs] and [a=Thrones]. They died in a car accident returning home from Austin to El Paso, rolling over and crashing in the ditch near Fabens, Texas — merely 20 miles away from their destination. (The third passenger in the car reportedly survived.) Buried at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Laura Beard and Sarah Reiser lay under the same tombstone, decorated with a guitar and a ribbon that reads: "Best friends." The same year, Clint Newsom and Cedric Bixler released a commemorative [r=1342860] 7" split on Western Breed, featuring Rope and two FODE tracks on the B-side. The ATDI's third single, [m=45454], and the 7" split by [a=Ex Impetus] and Egon were both dedicated to Sarah and Laura. (Cedric Bixler later wrote the song about the tragic loss, "Napoleon Solo," on ATDI's second album, [m=45460].) In 2002, Newsom arranged a self-titled CD EP release by Fall on Deaf Ears, featuring the band's May 1996 demo, on [l=Post-Parlo Records] based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. |
