Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Musical America Musical America is the oldest American publication on classical music, available as a printed magazine from 1898 till 1992, and online since 1999. In 1921, Musical America published the first annual "Guide," later renamed the 'International Directory of the Performing Arts' and the 'Musical America Directory.' In 1964, Musical America's publisher sold the magazine and the annual directory to [a5291706], a subsidiary of Billboard Publications, owners of Billboard magazine. For the next twenty-two years, High Fidelity published 'Musical America' as an additional insert in the subscription-only edition. In 1986, ABC Consumer Magazines, the High Fidelity publisher, decided to revive Musical America as an independent monthly edition to compete against the 'Opus' (1984–'88) magazine. In 1998, the Musical America Directory's publisher launched the musicalamerica.com website.

Search Add 2 David Bragdon Jr David Bragdon Jr. David Bragdon Jr., 27, who lived in a second-floor bedroom at 20 Noyes St., had lived in Portland for about six months. He worked at the Great Lost Bear around the corner on Forest Avenue, where many employees shared ties with the six roommates. His father, David Bragdon Sr. of Rockland, said his son played the guitar and loved music before everything else. Bragdon was a graduate of Rockland District High School and studied at the University of Maine for a year. He moved back home with his father and worked for Bragdon’s company, 3-D Electric Inc., and another business. “He was kind and loving. He lived his life the way he wanted,” his father said. His father said Bragdon was a social magnet. “He was bubbly, outspoken. He was a charmer. He was as beautiful inside as he was outside,” his father said. Collin Spillane, a friend, said Bragdon was a generous friend who would give anything to his friends. On Thursday, Spillane mentioned to Bragdon that he had not had a good day. “He bought me a drink,” Spillane said. Search Add 2 Dagcenter-Pöbeln DC-Pöbeln (or sometimes Dagcenterpöbeln, or the shorter DC-P) was conceived in the Swedish city of Örebro by "Guggi" & "17" in 1982. "Guggi" was an alias of Tommy Olsson and "17"was Johan Kugelberg. Apart from them there were no other members; merely collaborators. DC-Pöbeln played live twice, Johan was on stage on the first event, and Tommy on the other. Both concerts took place in museums. The single Bettan was recorded on tape and given to [a187017] in late 1983. In 1984 Lars started thinking about releasing the song as a single with the the gravedigger cut-up as B-side. Johan Kugelberg designed the sleeve with pictures of Bettie Page, and finally released as single in the fall of 1985 on [l16713]. "17" was not present on the recording of "Bettan" (though he assembled the material that appears on the B-side). Since both members moved frequently, recording sessions were sparse, there were 4-5 sessions between 1983 - 1994. Tommy and Johan didn't go to school together, they just happened to be in the same place at the same time with similar interests. They first met when Tommy was 16. There´s supposed to be a CD of the last session in 1994, but Tommy has never seen it or have the tape recording. This session was covering everything from Whitney Houston to Psychic TV with cocktail Hammond organ, bongos and guitars completely out of tune.

Search Add 2 Julie's Syrup Julie's Syrup was a rock 'n' roll band from Bozeman, Montana formed in the fall of 2014 and was comprised of originally four (then grew to five) members from the Montana State University school of music technology. The original lineup was Jacob Pickett (rhythm guitar & lead vocals), Jake Williams (lead guitar/bass guitar & backing vocals), Marcus Bendon (drums/percussion), and Jaimie Hensley (keyboards & flute). This lineup released one 4-song demo in 2015 before adding Matt Greyson as the bassist. They then locally released their official self-titled EP "Julie's Syrup" in 2016. Soon after that, Marcus Bendon left the group to pursue other groups in the local scene and was replaced by Luke Scheeler on drums where the group performed more gigs before releasing the political and pervasive "Pure Gold Filth" in 2017. In April of 2017, Jake Williams left the group to pursue his new solo project "Great Grey" and was replaced by Josh McIntyre on lead guitar. The group eventually disbanded later in the summer of 2017.

Search Add 2 Jani Bravo Jan Sarin Jani Bravo, born 1983 in Stockholm, has been making music on-and-off since 1996. During the first couple of years at the start of this millennium he was working mostly with a friend of his in a trance project which had a few releases. When both of them basically lost interest in trance music around 2001/2002 Jani started the one-man-project "Jani Bravo". Not much was done the following years until he in the year 2006 decided he had time to be creative once again. Success came quickly when Dumb Recordings picked up his first finished track in many years ("Something In This Audio").

Search Add 2 Luis Morales Ramos Puerto Rican Jíbaro singer, nicknamed Luisito. Brother of [a=Flor Morales Ramos] and Juan Maria "[a2967281]" Morales Ramos. Also known as El Montañero (Man Of The Mountains), he was the youngest of the great traditional music triumverate: the three brothers: Ramito, Luisito and Moralito, from the prodigious family residing in the Bairoa neighborhood of Caguas. Born in 1928, Luisito possessed a strong, ringing country voice, as he aptly demonstrated in his two classic songs, Padre Nuestro and Boricua De Arriba Abajo. He developed several "seis" variants of his own which were added to the traditional repertory. Luis Morales Ramos died in 2009.

Search Add 2 Sunset Scream Roby Arduini & Max Marani It is VERY common in the Euro Trance world of music to come upon a one hit wonder artist or band, and unfortunately for the Sunset Scream band they were a one hit wonder band signed to the Italian division of Saifam Records. There is absolutely no official information released by Saifam on who Sunset Scream is except that in the credits on the back of the record it says the names abbreviated of the people involved in making the song "Angel" and its obvious that it was a two person band. Sunset Scream had one hit in Europe and that was their Angelo Venuto styled hit "Angel". After the vinyl was released Sunset Scream was never heard from again, but small yet not really good news about a possible come back was spread around for a very brief period of time. The only known fact about who was part of this band was that producers Roby Arduini & Max Marani were behind the distributions of the vinyl and also the two DJs who provided the keyboards for the band, though no info on who the female singer was.
