Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Styrofoam Duck Minneapolis, MN. Styrofoam Duck had begun receiving accolades for its playful band name as well as their quirky live performances, in which an actual 6 foot styrofoam duck shared the stage, flashing its head light, heckling the audience and band-mates. With the release of the band’s first full-length CD on Modern Radio, “Emergency’s Only Friend”, The Duck and its band-mates agreed that perhaps the best thing for all involved would be to part ways. As the Duck pursued various lucrative solo endeavors, the remaining members took a greater focus on the music without the distracting, albeit dynamic talking duck. The band remained a three piece with the addition of Jason Powers before taking a more experimental direction and then disbanding all together. ([l71202])

The part of Humphrey was played by Edwin Duryea, an actor, singer and dancer whose human identity was never revealed. The character of Humphrey is a tall, shaggy brown bear with a large, glossy nose, straw boater, tartan waist-coat and oversized yellow bow-tie. His television show always features a companion who assists and narrates Humphrey's various adventures in the "magic forest" including his brightly coloured tree house. The show is shot on television studio set. In the early days the character was known as Bear Bear and was named Humphrey B. Bear as the result of an on air competition. The 'B' in Humphrey B Bear stands for 'bear'.

Search Add 4 It's A Living Thing Rodrigo Falcao, Damon Morris, Monashee Sun, Alissa Raya, Anju Singh Is a band on a mission. Beginning as a looping psych-rock 2-piece, the bands exhilarating live set captivated music nerds, dance-party-goers & critical viewers alike over their first year of local shows. Spontaneous & driving, armed with Rodrigo Falcao's accomplished samba influenced rock-dance rythyms, threaded with Damon Morris's quasi-electronic sounding yet completely organic melodic elements, the duo strode bravely into unknown territory. The 6-song EP "You don't Have To" is a perfect cross-section of their audacity. Sink or Swim's Disco party sing-along slides gradually into evil stoner-rock psychadelic meltdown, like an inevitable comedown from a stratospheric high. The opening track "Relative Escape" blends minimalist looping with ethereal vocal harmonies, before catapulting into a stomping apocalyptic rock theme. Another track "Doubletime", is a 2.5 minute (completely improv) 70's power-psych jam, utilizing a loop from a different song, played at 2X the speed. The EP captures perfectly the "anything goes, & everything counts" improvisational spirit of the band, simultaneously admitting vulnerability & skyrocketing imperviously into the wilds of outer space! After pushing the potential of live looping near-to the limit, & being in exclusive musical isolation for a year, the boys began slowly taking on outside involvements again. The living process dictated a period of cultivation & outside energy. 5 shows in a row, were performed with unique lineup & material each time! This was highly exhausting, but fruitful. The new sound is deeper, & wider, bringing in chorale, folk, classical, & other influences, yet retains all the bombastic energy of the original Duo. The new members are: Alissa Raya, bringing her skills as a drummer (Organ Trail) to the rythmic bass pulses, has replaced the loops & freed the band from the linear process they required. She is also blessed with an amazing strong voice, that picks you up gently but carries you roughly all the way down to the soul south. Monashee Sun, on violin, (& yamaha portatone!) adding her accomplished fiddle trills along with a highly developed sensitivity to dynamics & detail, not to mention her high-alto range otherworldy harmonies. Anju Singh, on Cello, as the "5th member". She's busy with bands, (I/I, Greyscales, & National Shield) that take her partially away from IALT, But her skills as an improviser, experimenter, & L.earn I.t Y.ourself classical musician makes her the perfect addition to the Living layer cake of sound.

His paintings are strange and symbolic, somehow uniting sacred geometry, cartoonish images, and nature. For Gaynor, music is his biggest inspiration as an artist and he's done several album covers for legendary Austin indie rockers, White Denim.

Search Add 4 Matt Panayides Matt Panayides is a modern guitarist and composer whose compelling melodies, compositions and improvisations have led to performances and collaborations with musicians all over the world. Employing modern harmonies, free and structured improvisations, mixed-meter rhythms and straight-ahead swing, Panayides has created his own unique musical voice on the guitar. Based in New York City, Matt leads a variety of different musical groups and can be found performing throughout NYC as a soloist, leading his own trio or quartet, or rounding out the rhythm section of a big band. His current musical project was formed in the Spring of 2018 and is called “Field Theory”. This band has been performing throughout NYC in venues such as the 55 Bar, Cornelia Street Cafe, Nublu and ShapeShifter Lab. Originally with Matt Vashlishan on wind synth, Bob Sabin on bass and Mark Ferber on drums Panayides also performs his compositions in trio and solo settings. Panayides has been taking his music abroad, collaborating with local musicians in South Korea and China who bring a unique perspective to his compositions. With drummer Jong Dae Oh in Seoul, Matt has played countless gigs in venues with the top musicians on the scene. In Shanghai Matt teams up with saxophonist Alec Haavik. With some US dates scheduled for the end of 2019, Panayides will record his third album, set to be released in 2020. His previous group featured a long-standing partnership with Rich Perry on tenor sax which led to the creation of two albums “Conduits” (2015) with Rich Perry, Mark Ferber and Thomson Kneeland, and “Tapestries of Song” (2011) with Rich Perry, Steve LaSpina and Dan Weiss. Both albums were released on the label Pacific Coast Jazz to much acclaim and feature Panayides’ compositions. Matt holds a BM from Manhattan School of Music and an MM from William Paterson University.

Search Add 4 Faith Head Faith Head Faith Head is a hard rock / progressive metal band from Chattanooga, TN. Faith Head formed in 2016 and has performed regionally, nationally and on radio and television. The band will share the stage with anyone and play almost anywhere. Faith Head claims no specific genre and refuses to be categorized. Lyrically the music addresses religion, cultural polarization and a rotting moral landscape in order to point to hope. Live Faith Head is a straight-up rock show without backing tracks to give the audience a pure, raw live performance with all its unpredictability. The band was nominated for Metal Band of the Year in 2019 and 2021 by the Tennessee Music Awards. Faith Head was nominated Rock Artists of the Year by Indie Star Radio for 2021. Their single "Wait and See" was nominated by the Grizzly Awards for Classic Metal Song of the Year 2020. Faith Head shared the main stage for the first time with Disciple, Colton Dixon, Ashes Remain, Love & The Outcome, nobigdyl and Aaron Cole in September at the Ignite Festival 2019 in Meadville, PA. The band released their debut album “Are you a Faith Head?” on December 2016 and landed at #6 on Metal Pulse Radio's Top 10 album of the Year in 2016. In 2017 Faith Head was nominated by Independent Artist Magazine for Best Male Artist of the year. The band was featured in the documentary "Metal Missionaries" in September 2017. The group also toured on the southeast leg of The Extreme Tour in 2017. The band was also the first hard rock act to perform at the Gospel Spin Awards in October 2017.

Schroeder. It was produced by P. Bellendir in 1997. It does not feature anything by Andrew Eldritch except some sampled vocals allegedly recorded over two days. Because of those sampled vocals, East West bought the record (without having heard it) and agreed to release Andrew from his recording contract. East West have not released the SSV album, but they did send tapes to the press. It is rumoured that the full name of the band (SSV-NSMABAAOTWMODAACOTIATW) apparently stands for "Screw Shareholder Value - not so much a band as another opportunity to waste money on drugs and ammunition, courtesy of the idiots at Time Warner".
