Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Aiden Wilson Tozer | Aiden Wilson Tozer (April 21, 1897 – May 12, 1963) was an American Christian pastor, preacher, author, magazine editor, and spiritual mentor.[1] For his work, he received two honorary doctorate degrees. Biography Hailing from a tiny farming community in western La Jose, Pennsylvania, his conversion was as a teenager in Akron, Ohio. While on his way home from work at a tire company, he overheard a street preacher say "If you don't know how to be saved... just call on God, saying, 'Lord, be merciful to me a sinner.'" Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic and heeded the preacher’s advice. In 1919, five years after his conversion, and without formal theological training, Tozer accepted an offer to pastor his first church. This began 44 years of ministry, associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA), a Protestant Evangelical denomination; 33 of those years were served as a pastor in a number of churches. His first pastorate was in a small storefront church in Nutter Fort, West Virginia. Tozer also served as pastor for 30 years at Southside Alliance Church, in Chicago (1928 to 1959), and the final years of his life were spent as pastor of Avenue Road Church, in Toronto, Canada. In observing contemporary Christian living, he felt that the church was on a dangerous course toward compromising with "worldly" concerns. Born into poverty, Tozer was self-educated teaching himself what he missed in high school and college due to his home situation.[2] In 1950, Tozer received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Wheaton College. It was May 1950, when Tozer was elected editor of the Alliance Weekly magazine, now called, Alliance Life, the official publication of the C&MA.[3] From his first editorial, titled Quality vs Quantity dated June 3, 1950, he wrote, "It will cost something to walk slow in the parade of the ages, while excited men of time rush about confusing motion with progress. But it will pay in the long run and the true Christian is not much interested in anything short of that." In 1952, he received an honorary LL.D. degree from Houghton College.[4] Among the more than 60 books that bear his name, most of which were compiled after his death from sermons he preached and articles he wrote, at least two are regarded as Christian classics: The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy. Many of his books impress on the reader the possibility and necessity for a deeper relationship with God. Tozer had seven children, six boys and one girl. Living a simple and non-materialistic lifestyle, he and his wife, Ada Cecelia Pfautz, never owned a car, preferring bus and train travel. Even after becoming a well-known Christian author, Tozer signed away much of his royalties to those who were in need. He spent his last years of ministry at Avenue Road Church in the province of Ontario in Toronto, Canada, where he died from a heart attack. He was buried in Ellet Cemetery, Akron, Ohio, with a simple epitaph marking his grave: "A. W. Tozer - A Man of God." [5] His last message, The Waning Authority of Christ in the Churches, printed in the Alliance Weekly and dated May 15th 1963, was published 3 days after his death. His biographer James L. Snyder has suggested that "In a sense it was his valedictory, for it expressed the concern of his heart." Tozer says here "Among the gospel churches Christ is in fact little more than a beloved symbol. . . . The Lordship of Jesus is not quite forgotten, but it has been mostly relegated to the hymnal where all responsibility toward it may be discharged in a glow of pleasant religious emotion." Prayer was of vital personal importance for Tozer. "His preaching as well as his writings were but extensions of his prayer life," comments his biographer, James L. Snyder, in the book, In Pursuit of God: The Life Of A.W. Tozer. "He had the ability to make his listeners face themselves in the light of what God was saying to them," writes Snyder. Over the years many have been inspired by the life and sermons of Tozer. In 2011, Christian music artist Lauren Barlow of BarlowGirl published a compilation of stories told by 59 artists, writers, and leaders about how A.W. Tozer inspired them.[

Search | Add | 2 | Orchestra "Alessandro Scarlatti" di Napoli Della RAI | Founded in 1949, the orchestra was one of four RAI orchestras formed after the end of the war in Italy. The Turin orchestra ([a=Orchestra Sinfonica Di Torino Della RAI]) originated from the earlier [a=Orchestra Sinfonica Dell'Eiar], established in 1931, and was the most prolific/prestigious. The others were formed later, and were based in Rome ([a=Orchestra Sinfonica Di Roma Della RAI]) and Milan ([a=Orchestra Sinfonica Di Milano Della RAI]). In 1994, the orchestras were merged in Turin, under the name [a=Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Della RAI]. However, in Naples, a new orchestra was formed in March 1993, imaginatively called La [a=Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti].

Search | Add | 2 | Derek Lorin | Derek is an American traditional pop artist performing old standards and his own new originals. He's a singer-songwriter, bassist, and drummer. He mixes his own “old-school” signature blend of acoustic-based pop music with a healthy sprinkling of jazz influence. You’re most likely to find him performing solo with his ukulele in fine museums, up-scale restaurants, coffee shops, and house concerts re-interpreting his older songs while offering a ever-changing stream of his newest batch of tunes. Derek loves reaching back and performing old standards from the Great American Songbook mixed with his modern, originals songs which tend to meander in that same genre and sound. He writes witty, insightful music free from over-hashed clichés. Derek presents memorable melodies, timeless songs, and thoughtfully engaging lyrics. He does this on his own, releasing his music online (and often giving it away) with no record label or administrative support. Derek is truly an independent artist. In Derek’s solo concerts, you’re going to hear Derek’s original music, a selection of over 100+ jazz standards from the Great American Songbook (as sung by Sinatra, Bennett, Cole), a collection of Beatles cover songs, and other light pop songs. If you’re fond of creative and uplifting music that fits well in an intimate atmosphere, you’ll enjoy Derek’s music and approach to performance. You can see his current performance dates here and his past dates here. He also occasionally performs accompanied by a jazz trio group of revolving musicians. Finding his voice as an artist has fuelled Derek’s writing and musical endeavours. As if being an accomplished vocalist, bassist and drummer weren’t enough, Derek Lorin is now becoming respected as an extremely prolific and profound songwriter. He has released five independent albums. Derek constantly hones his songwriting skills in the live venues and you’ll hear some vocal and lyrical improvisation, some playful tongue-in-cheek approaches to popular songs, and some outright tomfoolery. Derek Lorin has a high, clear voice which pairs nicely with his “old-school” sound and approach to music.

Search | Add | 2 | Complicate | Complicate was formed in January 2001 in Fredonia, NY where, after several run-ins with local authorities due to noise ordinance they decided to move everything to Rochester, NY. The music of Complicate can be summed up in three words: Focus, Tension, Release. The music concentrates on well-formed builds, and extreme tension, ultimately released with equally extreme intensity. You can find the influences of many genres in the music of Complicate. Layered, flowing melody lines mixed with complex meter and thick chord structure lays the foundation for much of the group's material. The group has shared the stage with regional acts such as Loopus, 40oz Failure, Stemm, Blind Identity, Inherence, Gargantual Soul, Agents of Man and Omniblank. The group has also been a welcome guest on the stage with national acts such as E-Town Concrete [Razor & Tie/BMG], The Used [Warner Bros.], 36 Crazy Fists [Roadrunner Records] and Erase The Grey

Search | Add | 2 | Mélodie Gimard | The French master pianist Mélodie Gimard blends Flamenco with Jazz and Classical music with an utterly elegant and contemporary approach, freedom of expression and inspiration. As a former dancer, Mel Gimard translates the movements from Flamenco dances into music. In her compositions, we find influences from both traditional and contemporary Flamenco. El Chozas de Jerez, Manolo Caracol, Moraito, Bebo Valdes, Ibrahim Maalouf and Tigran Hamasyan. Performed with an exquisite line up of the new Spanish and Cuban generation of musicians in the field of Flamenco and Jazz, the music of Mel Gimard is stunning. References to her roots with a fearless approach by the piano prodigy and her knowledge for folklore and classics, results in a beautiful oeuvre by one of the most exciting pianists of her generation. A must for any Flamenco lover!

Search | Add | 2 | Telebury | It all started in 1997, by Adrian and Sam during their training days for a local company. With their experience during their early 90's band and being bored (thought working on daily jobs would be a curse), both decided to start back again. Offically formed in 1999 after recruiting, meeting up, jamming with some friends. Inspired by an electric guitar Telecaster and Eavis’s Glastonbury festival, Telebury was born. Musically, influenced by the Brits. The Cure, U2, Longpigs, Radiohead and Elbow. A three guitar-attack band, described as melancholic, dreamy, raising heaven from the distant echoes. The band recorded "Di mana bulan selalu retak" a theatre-play theme song for A. Samad Said for their first released. The band are based here, Subang Jaya, Selangor D.E Malaysia.

Search | Add | 2 | Ann Duggan | Ann and her musicians have travelled the length and breadth of both the UK and America pedalling the songs that have meant so much to so many people. Songs that have taken audiences on a roller coaster of emotions where the hardest men have been moved to tears whilst at the same time been lifted into a state of euphoria. These are not the songs for the faint hearted, they make you think and carry you on a journey. Each self-penned song is different from the other and makes you feel that sometime, somewhere you've heard it before. Ann has been described as a torch singer, somewhere between Stevie Nicks and Bette Midler. Her trusted guitarist has been likened to Richard Thompson, Johnny Marr and Eddy Shaver. As a duo they are a powerhouse to be reckoned with garnering the highest respect from the musicians that join them on different projects and performances along the way.

Search | Add | 2 | GreenSugar | GreenSugar is a 4 piece Rock N Roll quartet from Chicago IL. The band was born in the Great West after singer/guitarist Parker Dodson rode a three legged pack Mule across the Great Plains and through the Rockies to LA. After years of intense worship in the Ancient house of Troy, a group of priests were brought together to begin spreading the Gospel of Rock that Dodson had unearthed. These sage characters stormed the Sunset Strip and much of the Southern California coast for many moons until they realized that the diseases of modern society had poisoned the good people of this land so totally that their words could simply not be heard…and so this dreamer left for greener pastures… Upon returning to Chicago, Dodson promptly tracked down his childhood friend Jon Patrick Luby, a former Buffalo rider and freelance wildfire fighter, to provide rhythms and power. The two then set off around the Midwest gigging for the better part of a year with nothing but an oxen pulled cart and a roaming minstrel named Ubaldo. During their travels the band met a young saint named Michael “Swedish” Starcevic in the bowels of one of Chicago’s largest holy houses. St. Swedish had been raised studying many of the same scriptures as these men and despite a harrowing flight aboard an ostrich named Carroll he continued to worship the Gospel. Thus after a three day Walkabout in the woods of Wisconsin to cleanse his Inner Soul it was decided that he would join the cause. This band of brothers now numbering four foraged on; spreading their words of wisdom for thousands of lost souls until one night after an exhausting three hour ceremony a man arose from the crowd and introduced himself simply as, “the Pope.” He offered his services as the Bassman to Patrick’s pounding thunder and after calling upon the ghosts of Lord Vildamont Jameson it was ordained that his Holiness take his seat as the Ying to Patrick’s Yang. Since that fateful evening the band has wandered the streets of America delivering its message to the needy and consequently slaughtering its enemies along the way. Their songs speak of hope and irony, and the experiences the band have undergone and are now the foundation for the band’s explosive live set, which has been seen alongside such Rock N Roll Icons as Warren Haynes and Gov’t Mule, Les Claypool, and The Black Crowes. The band is now currently on tour throughout the Midwest and hoping for the opportunity to change your mind…about everything.

Search | Add | 2 | Ricky Mantoan | Riccardo Mantoan | Ricky Mantoan (La Mure, 1945/12/4) and Branco Selvaggio Band The band was founded in 1978 by Ricky Mantoan who since the early sixties performed in public. Ricky’s first inspiration was the american guitarist Duane Eddy, which became famous for having introduced the electric guitar as lead instrument in Rock’n’Roll, around 1958. Between 1965 and 1970, after various experiences with the sound of some artists like Cream, Stones, and Jimi Hendrix of course, Ricky discovered and was deeply impressed by Californian Country-Rock and in the same time by English Folk Rock….The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Bros, Grateful Dead, Fairport Convention, but especially the country singer Gram Parsons affected the evolution of his own musical taste. In 1978 he put together a bunch of country dreamers and the name of the band was ”Branco Selvaggio” (which is the italian translation of “Wild Bunch”). At the time he started to write this own compositions that became part of his first solo album “Ricky“, published in 1980 . This work was well received by music critics both italians and foreigners . A song from the album, “Down in Memphis”, successfully entered the charts of a famous British trade magazine: Omaha Rainbow. Then started the left-handed guitarist’s collaboration with some legendary Californian artists: Ricky got in touch with and formed a strong friendship with bassist Skip Battin, formerly of the Byrds, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Flying Burrito Bros. Between 1982 and 1994 he played on tour with Skip Battin, Chris Darrow, Greg Harris, Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Gene Parsons, John York, Roger McGuinn, revealing himself as an excellent guitarist and a true magic picker on Pedal Steel Guitar. These events were recorded and two recordings published: LIVE IN ITALY and FAMILY TREE. The Family Tree album was recorded at the end of a tour in 1988 by the former Byrds Skip Battin and John York; Ricky was on pedal steel guitar and on electric string bender Telecaster guitar and also on vocals. Another guy from Branco Selvaggio was Beppe D’Angelo on drums; he gave to the band an hard drive and both Skip and John were impressed by hits talent. At the same time Ricky worked in studio sessions with some Italian musicians , also taking part in several television and radio broadcasts .In the nineties Branco Selvaggio was appreciated throughout Italy with concerts which are still defined as “memorable”. The shows of the band were a long playlist settling the sounds and sensations of a true Cosmic Country with a touch of psychedelic era. In 1991 the “DICTIONARY OF ITALIAN SONG” by Renzo Arbore, published by Curcio Editore, made a board dedicated to Ricky qualifying him among the most creative Italian musicians. In 1992 the first album by Branco Selvaggio was made, ”Riders of the Universe”, with songs written by Ricky and some covers of Byrds and Bob Dylan. In 1994 he was asked to join the Byrds to participate in an international tour and this event was taken from a live concert in Geneva a number of broadcasters and of which there is an album on cd and a video titled “LIVE IN GENEVA”. From 2006 Branco Selvaggio turned his attention particularly to the quality of musical sound and also to the the choral parts, insisting on genuine roots of country electric and acoustic. At present the renewed organic group includes Dario Zara on bass and vocals, Luciano Costa on acoustic and electric guitars, vocals and slide guitar, Beppe D’Angelo on drums and vocals, Ricky Mantoan of course is on pedal steel, electric and acoustic guitars, dobro, mandolin, harmonica and vocals. A new album ”RIDIN’AGAIN” which includes all songs written by Ricky is ready to be published. In 2013, Ricky has composed the soundtrack of the Italian movie "The Repairman" with Pedal Steel Guitar and Dobro. He has formed an artistic couple from 2011 with Gloria Berloso. He died suddenly aged 71, December 14, 2016 |

Search | Add | 2 | Vivar | Vivar | Vivar is a hardcore / punk rock band that seeks to explore the melodies that these genres can offer, not putting aside the aggressiveness and discomfort characteristic of this style of sound. Since 2017 the band has played live compositions of their own, having recorded four of them in an EP released that year. Some say that it sounds like Californian skate punk or the 90's emo and pop punk. The lyrics are in rough English and Portuguese, and brings an social and personal themes. In the "Not the same" album (2020), with nine tracks, the band remains concerned with the melodies and explores the sound aesthetics from different references. The lyrics carry collective experiences and social concerns, but also personal, intimate and subjective issues. They are common themes, as they deal with relationships that touch everyone, sung in English, Portuguese - and a special track in Spanish. The idea is not to bring a superficial notion and make it easier for the ear, but to expose and offer reflections, questions about our possible relationships these days. |

Search | Add | 2 | Rusty Chest | Nashville, TN based musician, songwriter, photographer, visual artist and designer. A third-generation Nashvillian, peacefully arrived in this trying world on the chilly morning of January 19 (Capricorn, with Gemini moon and Pisces rising) during the locally famous blizzard of 1951. A calm only-childhood, largely shaped by [l=Mad Magazine] drawings, folk and British Invasion records, and the practical and esoteric wisdom of his beloved grandmother, was enjoyed beneath tall Victorian ceilings in a pre-hipster, but eternally bohemian, East Nashville. Awarded for drawing by age ten, the young artist soon expanded to create Warhol inspired collages from cardboard, torn madras shirts, and Campbell's Soup can labels (an early attempt at conceptual art involved melting an entire deluxe set of Crayolas) and at age 14, after seeing [a=The Animals] and [a=The Rolling Stones] (with [a=Brian Jones (5)]), put aside his cheap acoustic guitar, bought a new Kent Japanese electric, and proceeded to learn how to arpeggiate through the chords of "The House of the Rising Sun". Earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1974, he maintained a high grade-point average while fully engaging in the demanding folkways of the era, and later attained a Degree in Art from the wonderful, traditional minded Harris School of Art in Franklin, Tennessee. Over 15 long years were spent as a freelance artist, creating advertising, record covers, and periodicals in the traditional pre-computer manner, using triangle and drawing board, for some of the city's largest (and smallest) ad agencies. Exhibited fine art photography in several shows, including a well-received solo exhibit at The Centennial Park Art Center in Nashville. All the photographs were created in the camera - never in the darkroom nor the computer. Played guitar, banjo, and clarinet for many years with The Perfumed Garden Cafe Orchestra, gathering and arranging traditional material for folk-jazz improvisation accompanying traditional belly dance. Following 45 years of songwriting, an album of all original tunes, [r9020104], was duly released in the spring of 2015. [r12187730], a second album of original songs, was released in the summer of 2018.
