Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Nothinghunger Jael Edwards The project of Jael Edwards, Nothinghunger began in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1999 with primitive tape-collages influenced by classic industrial acts like Throbbing Gristle, SPK, NON, and Whitehouse. Expanding to a duo with the addition of Alexis Porter, the group moved towards more sophisticated instrumentation influenced by bombastic classical music and black metal, and released the "Entertente Kunst/Degenerate art" CDR EP. In 2001, Porter left the project and Edwards moved to Melbourne, Australia, where Nothinghunger went into stasis. During this four year period, Edwards acted as the vocalist for Melbourne black/death metal act Accursed, but has now returned to creating Nothinghunger material.

Search Add 2 Pizza Prostata Swiss Punk Rock group. Biography from their homepage: We kicked off in 1992 as a 5-Piece Punk Group called the Sausage Factory. Doing things onstage is part oft he act. Anyone can play a guitar, but not everyone will get onstage with a cows brain cellotaped onto their head or paint themselves blue and set off fireworks three floors underground. In 1996 we split and became a 4-Piece unit called Pizza Prostata. We experimented with industrial sounds and loads of electronics. We had to, seeing our drummer left for Scotland, where he staied for a year to study and experience the Scottish style of wrestling. We took a break for a couple of years and found back to our rocking roots. Basic, simple, straight forward songs in the classic drums, base, guitar and vocals setup. Great songs played badly but with passion.

Search Add 2 KastningSiegfried The KastningSiegfried Duet Project was formed in 1990, and is an ongoing artistic collaborative between [a4968562] and Siegfried, a guitarist and composer based in Portland, Maine. The KastningSiegfried compositions are written in open score, but are performed and recorded by us for acoustic guitar duets. Compositionally, the works fall into one of three basic categories: pieces composed by Siegfried, pieces composed by me, and pieces collaborated upon and composed by us both. The music defies easy categorization. Instrumentation consists of Siegfried on acoustic 6-string guitar, and me on 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, extended baritone guitar, 12-string extended baritone guitar, classical guitar, fretless classical guitar, and mandolin. The Binary Forms pieces tend to be extended compositions. The Binary Forms series (currently a set of 11 compositions) employ a compositional technique wherein one of us will compose one voice (the score being laid out in a two-voice system), either Voice I or Voice II. The completed single-voice score is given to the other person, who then composes the part of the unfinished voice. Usually, no predetermined guidelines have been specified for the unfinished voice, but there have been pieces wherein the first person has specified certain harmonic or structural elements as a kind of palette for the second person to use when composing their part. This compositional method has produced some very unique pieces.

Search Add 2 Breen Schipke Cairns born and Brisbane trained, Breen Schipke was always destined to be making music. With early tuition in piano, cornet, guitar, bass, drums and music theory, Breen always had music both in the blood and in his head. Arriving in Brisbane at age 18, he began the long journey through numerous bands both original and covers as he sort out that most elusive of roles as a professional musician: to be able to both eat and play at the same time! Involved in numerous recordings and gigging bands (including the likes of Barb, Dirt Petty, Spank, the Dave Ritter Band, Suzie MacKenzie) Breen decided he needed to get a stronger grip on his destiny and set out to learn both sides of the industry on both sides of the mic and gained a Diploma from the SAE and then a Bachelor of Music from the Qld Conservatorium. Majoring in Sonology (the study of sound) with minors in voice, bass and piano. Breen finally then ‘made the grade’ spending 6 years gigging and touring professionally throughout Qld .

Search Add 2 Anorexic Sumotori Rock band from the north of France. The gritty French quartet crafts a minimalist yet sophisticated stoner indie rock and delicately blasts it on stage with a fat and frontal energy. Fueled by a mutual interest in Nirvana's grunge spirit, Queens Of The Stone Age's sensuality and The Stooges' garage smell, Anorexic Sumotori play hide and seek with all senses and genres with a few steps into Quentin Tarantino's universe. Formed by Antoine Demailly (bass, keys and lead vocals), Sébastien Demilly (guitar, backing vocals), and Vincent Poissonnier (drums) while still attending college in the post-industrial city of Maubeuge, the band later opted for a four-piece format with Fabien Ménart (keys, theremin, guitar), in an appetite for a little bit more of everything. Anorexic Sumotori have acquired a solid reputation in Northern France, and their music was qualified as « sur-carré », a word coined by Armel Campagna, director of Main Square Festival (Arras) and Live Nation France to praise their super clean performance in front of a crowd of over 2,000

Search Add 2 Lush Agave Alisha Erao Lush Agave is the project of classical vocalist and electronic musician Alisha Erao. Erao grew up in Florida studying classical voice and music technology at the University of Central Florida. Her interest in low-fidelity recording and early electronic music inspired her first experimentations with vocal samples and composition. Erao moved to New York City in 2008, forming the band Alligator Indian with Math Erao (Absolute Fantasy). The electronic pop duo released 3 albums with Bleeding Gold records. After relocating to Asheville, North Carolina in 2012, Erao co-founded a gallery/event space called Apothecary. It was in this environment that Lush Agave emerged from the idea to combine her passion for classical voice and its aesthetics with synthesizers and vocal sampling. Erao premiered her first piece “madame” here, which reimagines the aria “Un Bel Di Vedremo” from Puccini's Madame Butterly. The project continued to evolve in subsequent years, especially upon her brief return to Orlando where she recorded her debut EP, Songs for a Moon. Lush Agave became Erao’s attempt to bring the vulnerability and intensity of classical vocal genres into the zeitgeist. It is a means of merging her passion of technical practice with electronic and pop music, and to speak of her experience as a womxn in music. By sampling melodies, lyrics, or overall sentiments from her favorite arias and art songs, Lush agave evokes the aura of tragedy, beauty, and passion in the operatic tradition.
