Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Hotel Kali German-Indian band, formed in November 2018, when the Berlin-based musician Theresa Stroetges came to Kolkata for a two-month artist residency organized by the Goethe-Institut and Musicboard Berlin in collaboration with the Border Movement initiative. Wanting to collaborate with local musicians rather than working in isolation, she reached out to Varun Desai for recommendations. Once the promoter, synth nerd and solo artist had sent her some of his own pieces, he was the first to come on board. Soon thereafter, Stroetges and Desai were joined by the double bass player and session musician Debjit Mahalanobis and the songwriter Suyasha Sengupta.
Search Add 2 OTMC Ousmane Traoré OTMC is a rapper, music producer, director, videographer, and member of the group Dubmatique. With groupmates DiSoul, and Dj Choice, they are pioneers of the hip-hop scene in Quebec. In 1997, they released "La force de comprendre" which sold 150 000 copies and went platinum in Quebec alone. At the local event to recognize achievements in the music industry called "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they were the first local hip-hop group to win trophies. Throughout the years, they won "Group of the Year", "Best Rock Alternative Album" (their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a hip-hop section), and "Best Hip-hop Album" twice. In 1999, they released the self-titled album "Dubmatique", who went gold. In 2001, they separated after their third record "Influences". That year OTMC released the Rap/Rnb compilation "Procès verbal". The song for the single and the video clip is the song is " Zoukin", by Rnb group O.N.E.. The lead singer was a pre-fame Corneille in an early appearance on television and airwaves. In 2006, OTMC released his first solo "Sincérité volontaire", where he takes a melodic musical direction with acoustics instruments. In 2008, a Facebook group with the goal to reunite Dubmatique is created. 50 000 fans joined and it led to the release of their fourth output "Trait d’union". Ever since with his group or solo, OTMC is seen performing, hosting events, directing music videos, and producing music for other artists. In 2019, with Dubmatique, they were the first hip-hop group to win the "Classic song award" at the Socan Gala (an event to celebrate Canadian music that had an important success). Afterward, he launched the music label Yokobok, within that endeavor he produced the album "Business et sentiment 3" by Jeune Rebeu which was released in 2021. Also that year, he was a featured guest on Élage Diouf's release "Wutiko".

Search Add 2 Razorigami Luke Richard Weber The main calling card to Razorigami is Luke Richard Weber’s high octane and multifarious vocal abilities. To say that he is one of the up and coming vocal talents in the metal and hard rock world would be an understatement. His strength lies in his ability to mix things up and do everything exceedingly well in the process, beginning with his foundation of the tough as nails mid-ranged but also highlighting the ability to extend for a high note with ease- and bring the heart and soul of Axl Rose (Guns N’ Roses) when need calls for it. Conversely, he can reach low and add some rumbling power along the lines of Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Mike Lee (Barren Cross) or even hint of the attitude and sass of Brian Johnson (AC/DC) and Scott Wenzel (Whitecross). The upshot being how he reflects the influences of many to create his own manifold style that can best be described as intense, impassioned and on the gut level side of things.

Search Add 2 Émile Naud Émile Naud’s amazing musical story begins in the mid-60’s at the St-Pierre Catholic Parish in Shawinigan (Quebec, Canada). Father Émile Naud was in fact a young priest at the parish, and also a musician, flutist and a graduate in Gregorian chant and choir. Along with local friend [a2547800] and a few other musicians, he formed an orchestra/choir and they began performing rhythmic masses in the Shawinigan area. The orchestra enjoyed some local success and they soon landed a short contract with Radio-Canada to become the official musical group for the ‘Lord's Day Masses’ that were presented live on television. These programs were broadcast from the cathedral at Cap-de-la-Madeleine. In 1968, they recorded an obscure rhythmic pop-mass album for [l885311]. By the end of the sixties, Emile Naud decided to pursue his musical career more seriously. He gave up his priesthood, managed to obtain a government grant, and evolved his group into a musical audio-visual project under the name “Champs-Pignons”. Their shows combined music (with rock, psychedelic and progressive tones), and also light effects and slide presentations (à la early Pink Floyd). And so, Les [a3100137] were born, ultimately moving to Laval before recording one of Quebec’s true experimental underground masterpieces, the now highly-coveted [m526892]

Search Add 2 DJ Phat Fingerz New York City Born July 4th, he's a Producer, Writer, and Arranger. Owner of a full Digital Recording Studio, were he does all of his work, he has recently finished a couple of albums which are in stores now. And in case some of you are wondering where the name FINGERZ came from, here goes. "I was once laying down a complicated keyboard sequence for a friend" he saids, "and he took a look at my hands and yelled, "You Go, Fingers!" And the rest, as they say, is history". Fingerz' first opportunity to perform professionally came in the movie, EASTSIDE STORY. His group, Boyz In The Lab had a featured track titled "Fragile Heart". While on the set, Fingerz was reunited with friends well known in the music industry such as: Little' Louie Vega, Marc Anthony , and India, just to name afew. In 1990, Fingerz did release a single on his friends label, Brewster Records titled "Nightmares of Tomorrow" which became Free Style Classic of the Month in Pennsilvania the following year. His old partner, and friend, enjoyed the performing side of the business so, that he became one of the lead singers of the internationally known group, The Barrio Boyzz. Fingerz loved the creative side and continued his writing and producing throughout the years. In 1995, Fingerz had a couple of projects credited to his name. One was as writer of "Don't Turn Our Love Away" by Lorenzo D'Lan. And another as Additional Editor of Clear touch's latest album on Mic Mac Records. Recently, Brewster records released a compilation CD which features "Nightmares of Tomorrow" which was written, produced, and recorded by Mr. Felix (PHAT FINGERZ) Colon. Fingerz is currently working on a couple of REGGAE/HIP HOP projects and a REGGAE CD that will be released on his own label, Finger Cell Music. "Reggaeton Platinum", is In Stores Now!

Search Add 2 Zen Bow Zenbar Bennett here’s Zen Bow’s interview regarding his childhood in Jamaica, his musical experiences and, well, how he got that name… Enjoy! ******* Zenbar, where are you from in Jamaica? I grew up in Falmouth, parish of Trelawny, Jamaica. Same place than the Twinkle Brothers… Exactly. We’re from the same block. I used to listen to them, Ralston, Norman… But they were older than us. Were you already singing as a youth? I was singing back in Jamaica among a group called Righteous Roots, small local band. But then moved to the US in my early twenties and did I some work -then I went back into the singing. Why did you pick Zen Bow for a name? I thought that was after the book Zen Bow, Zen Arrow. OK. Zen Bow was given me by my teacher. I used to love writing, I love to write. I had a pen pal back in Jamaica that instead of putting ‘Zenbar’ on his envelopes, he put ‘Zenbow’, so my class started calling me Zen Bow. So how did Zen Bow got his break in the reggae scene in the US? First thing I did in 1985 was to attend a talent shows where I lived, in Hartford CT. It was for reggae artists in town, I can’t remember exactly its name, it wasn’t broadcast. It was just a little thing to bring out the artists in Hartford. It was more of a talent search. I came second but caught the ear of the people in that band called Crucial, and they asked me to join. At first I said, “not really”’cause I didn’t want to take away the leadership of the band. But I went listen to them and I liked what I heard, and they liked what they heard from me. So I joined, and we started to play around, you know, in places like in NYC, Rhode Island, Boston, year round. Jimmy Swing played lead guitar. There was a big bass player called Jimmy Rankin, “Big Bassie”. And you have Snow White on drums. We didn’t do no recording. We did live shows, that was they used to do before, cover songs, but since I joined the band, I always do the writing so I’d bring forward new material to the band. So Impression was pretty much the first tune you recorded? Yes. Now this song was inspired by an incident that took place in Hartford on a Sunday afternoon. Something went down and they started to say, you know, ‘rastaman did that, and Jamaicans did that’, and so, it kind of put a damper on the surrounding of dreadlocks and Jamaicans. So I became aware of the impression that we’re bad. And that was all how the song came about. It was an incident that I don’t wanna talk about -a shooting incident. Certain people did it and certain group of people did it. That was it so I decided to pen it into a song. You recorded its instrumental with Crucial? Yeah they’re the same band, Crucial. And then you called your label Gramps, why is that? Gramps was the lead singer for the group I was in back in Jamaica, Righteous Roots. His real name is David Robinson, he has a band in Milwaukee now called Road Damage. So for me to pay him tribute, I used his name, Gramps. The other recorded tune of yours I know is Black and Beautiful with King Culture. King Culture, yeah ! Someone told me about him for distribution in Canada. We spoke on the phone and we did some transaction and he distributed for me, then he proposed me to record, but I did my own production on this one too. I did another tune called Auction Block, but that didn’t go nowhere. That tune is saying that I’ve seen my stock rise and I’ve seen my stock fall cause I was a slave. And in America it seemed like I was controlled by a remote. I released it but it didn’t go nowhere. And I just did it for myself. I mean it came out but it didn’t go nowhere, I sold maybe 100 copies of it. How many copies of Impression did you press? I mean, over a thousand only. Cause it was underground, independent. Did you stop producing after that? No, I was still producing but for myself. Cause it takes money. Not time, cause I had time but I didn’t have the money. At that time when my kind of songs was coming out, people weren’t that much into the culture rasta music, they were more in the punaany business. So I kind of got stuck in mid-stream. Mid-80s was a different kind of music coming about.

Search Add 2 Judy Carrier Judy Carrier née Judith Ann Reed Bluegrass singer-songwriter known for her powerful vocals and lead guitar playing. A long-time member of the American Federation of Musicians, Nashville Local 257. Born June 23, 1942 in Ludlow, MA. Died July 30, 2018 in Portland, TN. Judith Ann Reed began playing bluegrass locally as a young teenager with Wynn Fay and the Ridge Runners, later working on Radio WHMP, Northampton, MA. Her future husband and duet partner Vernon “Whitey” Carrier was a member of the band. In addition to playing festivals and clubs in the region, Reed and Carrier played on Clyde Joy’s weekly television show on WMUR, Manchester, NH, for 12 years. In 1980, four years after her husband died, Judy Carrier moved to Nashville. Very shortly afterwards she recorded her critically acclaimed, first solo album "From the Berkshires to the Smokies" at Bobby Osborne’s recording studio. She described her album in a 1996 Bluegrass Unlimited interview as, “mostly songs I had written with the blood, sweat and tears of my life….and love.” Carrier appeared on Nashville’s Carl Tipton television show and fulfilled her lifelong dream of singing on the stage of the Grand Ol’ Opry when she performed on the Grand Ol’ Gospel Hour broadcast on WSM in 1981. In 1986 Judy was invited to play a tour of The Netherlands where she met her second husband and duet partner, Rens Vreeburg. Two years later he joined her in Tennessee where they were married. They were together for 29 years until her death. The couple played the Midnight Jamboree on several occasions, travelled to Europe four times to perform in The Netherlands, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Austria and Belgium. For six years, the Vreeburgs produced a bluegrass festival, The Dutch Woodpecker Bluegrass Jamboree, on their property northwest of Portland, TN.

They boast a wide range of influences, including Foo Fighters, The Police, Meshuggah, and Megadeth. These influences only act as "musical inspiration of though process and song structure" rather than truely define the band. Overall the band brings a unique sound to the alternative metal / hard rock scene. Their guitar and bass tones shine through with both clean and distorted tones, layered with solid drumming. Vocal harmonies are present in almost every song and sound very polished and professional. As stated by the band, "The music that comes through the speakers is very complex in some areas, and simple, yet effective, in other parts."
