Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 Emma Lamontagne Singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Emma Lamontagne landed a single’s deal the very first time she performed a bonafide gig in 2016, winning a contest put on by the Ottawa Bluesfest and recording “I Don’t Sleep” with songwriter/producer Robyn Dell’Unto. The teenager at the time went on to achieve close to half-million streams for the song, but she wasn’t happy with the electronic-pop direction her sound was going, so she took a break. Now, with an audio engineering degree under her belt and a new home studio, Emma is back with a sound that she wants: lyric-focused folk-pop. But live is where she also shines; her between song banter is downright hilarious. (Source: https://emmalamontagne.com/bio)

Search Add 9 Geoff Higginbottom Geoff was born 13 February 1959, Stockport, Cheshire, England. During his early career Higginbottom played the circuit of folk clubs and pubs in his native northwest. In August 1985, he was placed third in a competition at the Warwick Folk Festival. In the November of the same year, he released Songs From The Levenshulme Triangle. The following year, he performed at the Sidmouth Folk Festival, and was subsequently re-booked for 1987 and 1988. This gave Higginbottom a wider profile, and brought club and festival bookings all over England. He has since ventured further afield, playing Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands. In addition to his musical career, Higginbottom has also made numerous appearances on UK television in bit parts, turning up in such soaps as Coronation Street, Brookside and Emmerdale, as well as a number of other productions. Flowers Tomorrow received a good response and brought Higginbottom to wider attention. The title track has been sung by a number of other performers, and the album as a whole mixed contemporary and traditional styles, with his guitar and bodhrán to the fore. More Than Pounds And Pence, released in December 1990 has helped to establish Higginbottom as a highly-regarded performer and writer.

Search Add 9 EN2ORPHINE Gaetan Nelias French Electronic artist born in 1982. A&R of RED REC & Team Label CDT. EN2ORPHINE: Curious insatiable and eternally passionate, En2orphine never does things like everyone else. First attached body and soul to the Bordeaux rock scene, he later falls in love with electronic music at the dawn of the 2000s at parties organized by the atypical club Space Opera. It was these two love at first sight that motivated her determination and her endless involvement in music. He started with the production, which led him to present live acts with 69db, Lenny D, McOutis, DJ Volta, Hilight Tribe and DJamency, and gradually became part of the mix universe. At the same time, he ventured into rock-fusion with his group "Churchill" and engaged in electro-jazz and world music collaborations, wherever his characteristic open-mindedness could lead him. His meeting with young WestSound Brestois marks a turning point for him. After a year of exchanges, they offer him the opportunity to mix alongside Dax J. It is then that the hyperactive he is decided to crack on Rennes thus participating in the creation of REDEMPTION. More than just a collective responsible for organizing parties, he is at the origin of a series of podcasts called REDCAST and a label called RED REC in which En2orphine plays a very active role. More recently, he joined the staff of the "La Chinerie" community as an administrator for his techno CDT branch. Preferring shade and mystery, he strives to discover as much pearls as possible in order to study them and then assemble them to form auditory frescoes. Moreover, his selections are more to be seen as mosaics or patchworks as the focus is on diversity and polychrome. Various atmospheres mix and even create original bridges between musical genres in order to question certain boundaries between them and to surprise the listener. Whether the atmosphere is cold and distressing or warm and reassuring, En2orphine finds itself there, adapts and mixes like a chameleon, its eclectic foolproof constituting its greatest strength.

Search Add 9 John Aidan The Belgian Producer is known for his unique progressive trance sound. His slow type of trance is a laid-back atmosphere type, which can be relaxed to the listener. Still further, one can say that his music is a journey through the spheres and atmospheres of the melodies and sounds. But always with a penchant for melodic trance John creates it skillfully to connect the individual styles together. John Aidan was born in Seoul, South Korea on the 10th of September 1982. Coming from a family of singers and musicians his passion for music started at young age. In his youth lots of his pocket money was spent on records, from then on he was excited to know how tracks were made. Johns main interest was producing trance tracks on the first place, not mixing them. At the age of 16 he made his first studio debut with his cousin Owen Replay in Brussels(Ohm Studio). After a while John started to experiment with other music styles and came to the idea of merging them together. His great influences first came from local Belgian producers and later then from the greater world star producers. John made his own way to producing tracks, did a lot of research and once and while a good friend/producer gave him some useful tips to improve the quality of his tracks.

Search Add 9 Ken Kobold Ken Kobold of Ottawa, Illinois was a recording engineer who has been recording Drum Corps on reel-to-reel tape. He was active in the 1970s and 1980s. Back in the 1970s, if you wanted to find a recording of a corps dating back to the 1950s, there was only one man who could possibly help you -- Ken Kobold. Kobold was the only person who had quality sound recordings of hundreds of corps dating back to the early 1950s. After years of doing it himself for posterity purposes, [l153566] asked for his help. From 1971 to 1982, Kobold was the only recording engineer for DCI. Because of his love for the activity, he gave his services to the young organization and made master recordings of all the DCI Championships. This effort made it possible for DCI to produce albums and cassettes to sell to fans across the continent and world. By selling these recordings, [l153566] was able to survive those beginning years. The records were the organization's only fundraiser and enabled the DCI board of directors to hire a full time executive director. From there, the organization grew, but not without Kobold's continued help. In addition, he was in sole possession of a historical library made up of professional drum corps recordings dating from the 1950s to 1987, when he retired. He nurtured that collection through the years to not only include the "big" corps but also the hometown units as well. [a8440542], former executive director of DCI, explained, "Through all the years of helping DCI grow, Ken's only request was to have a place where he could set up his equipment to do his job. He was the ultimate volunteer." Ken also started the Marquette Crusaders in Ottawa, IL in 1954. It was first started at Marquette HS, the only Catholic high school in town. Within the first few years they changed the name to allow any kids in Ottawa and surrounding towns to join. Ken was inducted into the DCI Hall of Fame in 1989. He passed away in 1992.

Trubaduri moved way beyond tradition into "Tamburitza-Rock" by adding guitars, drums and keyboards to the mix, and introduced generations of the American public to new genres of Croatian music. They embraced rock, pop, klapa and other regional music and have established themselves as the cutting edge choice for Croatian contemporary music in America. The group are still (2024) performing today.

Search Add 8 Just Another Girl Tony Pooley Formed in the early 90's in Slough, Berkshire, UK, by Tony Pooley (vocals and guitar), with Jane Wilson(Bass guitar). Mark Francis programmed the drum machine which was used live. The JAG's played regularly round the Slough/Reading/Windsor area, occasionally venturing in to London for gigs at the Rock Garden and the Swan, in Fulham amongst others, using film samples between songs for which they became known. The band eventually recruited Steve Wilson from The God's of Chaos on lead guitar and Julian Turner Bell from Slough band Space Junk on drums and went out as a "conventional" band. Life took it's toll on this version of the band and they broke up after recording the "T" album, which featured Martin Kennedy of Paradise Alley standing in on bass guitar. The band went into hibernation until Tony returned with the 360 Degrees of Sky EP in 2009.

Search Add 8 Mohammad Eghbal Multi-instrumentalist and has intensively intertwined with the various instruments, especially with the VIOLINE, over the course of his life. But his most important means of expression is the VOICE, with which he improvises some mystical texts (Rumi, Baba Taher, Omar Khayyam), in which case he accompanies himself on the almond-shaped oriental OUD or on the three-sided CETAR. He is also masters the Persian NEY (pipe flute), a wind instrument that produces sound in the mouth through carefully controlled exhalation. This requires a special breathing technique. It takes at least 10 years of intensive study to master this instrument. Mohammad builds his neys himself to find out the best sound quality. The Ney is preserved in both the classical and the popular, but above all in the esoteric tradition of the Orient and directly appeals to the human soul with its varied, soft and rough tones. All pieces are Mohammad's own compositions, but are reinterpreted at each concert, leaving the musician with enough space for free improvisation. In this way, the pieces always become a unique performance. Mohammad / AHURA plays in various compositions on stage. As a solo artist, with his wife, who accompanies him on the Celtic harp, or / and with percussion accompaniment (frame drums and Persian dombak) and solo singing. He also seeks dialogue with instruments and musicians from other cultures and has been working for several years with a 5 to 6-piece ensemble, integrating sound elements from other cultures into his music.
