Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Fonome Alfonso Ojeda On the musical scene since 2001, Seville based DJ and producer Fonome has not stopped making moves. With a number of machine heavy productions behind his belt and ever-growing presence behind the DJ booth, Fonome is quickly garnering support and interest from the scene with increasing focus shown for his productions and track selection. Nearly two decades behind the decks have allowed for ample time to develop a deep understanding in musical curation, while the ongoing growth and hustle has reaped plenty of benefits on and off the decks; whether it would be beat making in a studio or sharing the booth with Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and Eduardo de la Calle. As a previous clerk behind Seville’s legendary Union Records store, he currently occupies a job at the port of Seville where the industrial environment shines influence on his recordings and promotes the merging of learnt history of the music scenes with day-to-day work mechanics and engineering of commercial shipping economy. Fonome’s productions often relay and contrast elements between the two and form a bass heavy, atmospheric and acidic synth laden grooves that may as well be as easily plaid at a port or a record store or any other space that may be as open to create sound as to take it in too.

Search Add 2 Лариса Макуха Larysa Makuha plays on a bandura, she plays well. This instrument, apparently, is not intended for playing of cheerful songs. Not without reason the word "blues" is present in the name of an album - There is something sad in its songs. Minor key emphasise on the feelings. CD makes the same transparent atmosphere which happens at concerts of bards. It is not casual. Aren't bandura players were the first Ukrainian bards?

Search Add 2 Rebekah Bell While Rebekah teaches full time as a school band teacher, her artistic outlet will always be jazz, through and through. At her core she is a jazz vocalist, performing with various groups around the Yukon, big and small. The real fun of making music begins for Rebekah with smaller jazz combos, as the rehearsals and performances allow for more flexibility and creativity. Working with experienced jazz artists and mentors, Rebekah continuously strives to improve her craft. Her current project is a full-length jazz album produced by Joani Taylor (www.joanitaylor.com) recorded at Armoury Studios with Bob Murphy (piano), Doug Stephenson (bass), and Buff Allen (drums), and sound engineer David Hayes. Artists that have influenced her include Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Holly Cole, Sarah Vaughan, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dinah Washington, Blossom Dearie, Karrin Allyson, and Nancy Wilson. Rebekah is firmly entrenched in the styles that fall under the jazz umbrella. From bossa novas by Jobim, to blues tunes by The Beatles, to jazz standards by Jimmy van Heusen, her love of jazz and her familiarity with the vast array of songs and styles have given her a feel for jazz that is evident in her voice, sense of timing, phrasing, ever present groove, and her understanding of the fundamental drive in her art.

Search Add 2 Poultry Death Death Metal band from Ohio, USA. Active from 1989 - 2011 (Split up) Originally formed as a side-project of members of [a=Sin Eater (2)] and (soon-to-be members of) [a=Catastrophic (3)] in 1989, and released their first album "Chicken Cults" in 1990. Over time the project became more serious (in member commitment, not in lyrical content) and in 1998 they recruited members of [a=Blood Coven] and [a=Dahmer (2)] to fill out the line-up, leading to them playing a lot more shows, most notably a show as the only other band alongside Entombed. This line-up recorded and released "Extra Crispy" in 2009. Original bassist [a=Rob Toothman] passed away in 2012.

Search Add 2 Speyer Alexander Matrosov Speyer is a last Alexander Matrosov's project (Alexandroid, Flexkiks, Gods Delusion and etc.). The name "Speyer" is comes from a real spy town, based in central Europe. The red line of this project is to make sound synthesis more flexible, but less massive (powerful) than it was in first tracks of Flexkiks - Freeland, this is where Alex Matrosov engineered his explosive sound mixture of industrial and psychedelic. Alexander Matrosov, a part of Alexandroid, Gods Delusion, Flexkiks, Autopilots, Speyer projects came up with an idea to make a compilation Main Control Board. Died in February of 2009.

Started playing piano at a young age, his career included solo appearances with Symphony orchestras, honors from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, arranging and composing vocal and orchestral groups of all sizes, and years of network radio and TV studio work. It was during his affiliation with the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC) that he learned to play the organ. The instrument he played was a special Wurlitzer three manual pipe organ that was built to Jesse Crawford's specifications for the old RcA Victor Chicago Recording Studios and on which Crawford made his first electrically recorded records. This organ was subsequently purchased by NBC and moved to their Cleveland studios, which is where Earl met up with it.

Search Add 2 Over The Falls Santa Rosa's Over The Falls ... seems to have a time machine hidden somewhere and they are able to use it to go back to the underground scene in the early Nineties to borrow riffs and ideas. Glaring influences include Clutch, Mastodon, and The Bakerton Group. Over The Falls brought their own style of Thrashy Metal to the stage and brought it well. Think early King Crimson mixed with throaty screaming vocals delivered by Chris Rodgers, who is constanly moving around the stage and keeping the energy high. Guitarist Bret Fontaine plays his speedy, overdriven riffage through a Mesa Boogie Stilletto halfstack, solidifying that nineties sound. His vocals are a bit smoother than Rodgers' and a little bit Mike Patton. The OTF myspace page appropriately credits Ryan Alderman as "Drums, Long Hair", his sticks and long hair were flying everywhere during the set. Alderman comfortably transitions between odd time signatures and plays with a respectable intensity throughout the set. Tim Bastianon gets an extremely warm sound from his Fender P-bass/Jazz Bass hybrid while effectively cutting through the mix and playing interesting yet complicated riffs. Unlike many rock bass players, he doesn't just get lost under what the guitarist is doing, he plays in his own style without trying to steal the spotlight. Come to think of it, all four members are usually doing something interesting enough to captivate the audience while at the same time staying in the pocket with the rest of the band, isn't that the definition of a good live band?

Search Add 2 Corey Mathew Hart “Corey Mathew Hart is one of the Midwest’s most gifted songwriters” — The Isthmus From the time Corey Mathew Hart started singing at a young age, his voice has amazed audiences. “The human voice is such wonderfully complex instrument. So often, words can fail to portray the whole meaning or idea you are trying to get across, but in song you can convey more emotion and add more depth and dimension to the written word,” says Hart. And he does just that with a voice and songs that earned Hart two MAMAs (Madison Area Music Association awards) in 2011, one for best male vocalist and the other for best Folk/Americana album. Most recently, Corey won the Overture Rising Stars competition in 2014 and has been selected as a finalist in the 2015 NewSong songwriting competition. His latest project, Lost Lakes, is turning heads both locally and nationally.

Search Add 2 Włodzimierz Borowski Polish contemporary visual artist, painter and conceptualist (7 September 1930, Kurów — 31 December 2008, Warsaw). Włodzimierz Borowski is widely regarded as one of the performance art pioneers in Poland. He studied art history at the Catholic University of Lublin (1952–55) and co-founded the "Zamek" art group, active between 1956 and 60. Borowski began creating his iconic "assemblages," called Artons, in the late 1950s — wall-hanging objects built of plastic, garbage and organic elements. They subsequently evolved into his Manilus series (1963) of assemblages made of mirrors. In 1966, Włodzimierz Borowski began Syncretic Shows, often cited among the earliest Polish "performance art" projects.

Search Add 2 Jan Leef Very little documentation exists on Jan Leef´s life and career. “Jan Leef” is probably a stage name he used when he privately released his one and only LP “We Will Survive” in 1972 on Gypsy Sound, a label established to the occasion. Very few copies were released (estimated to 200, “Rare Danish Records 1958 - 1977 - Inspiration and Priceguide” by Jan Rørbæk) and they never came out in regular record stores. Most of the copies were probably given away to friends and family members. His music is described as downer loner folk-psychedelica and some even compares Jan Leef with contempoary Nick Drake. No records are available on the web about any live events where Leef has performed his songs from 1972. “We Will Survive” has never been repressed although Jan Leef has been approached recently by interested people. According to rumors “Jan Leef” is still an active composer, but details are blurred and unconfirmed leaving the same mysterious aura around this unique artist who, maybe accidentally, made a little rough diamond unknovn to even hard core folk connoisseurs. Recent sale of his record came as high as to 800€, which is remarkably given the fact that Jan Leef is still unknown to the vast mayority of the folk community as no copies of his LP are available.
