Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | The Original Bullshit Band | TOBB is a Norwegian band consisting of first-call musicians working as freelancers in tv and the recording industry. TOBB was started as a playing ground for friends, all with the love for AOR-west coast music, and has since 1987 been touring on and off, mostly playing their own cover versiones of west coast and funk classics. In 2010 TOBB had the great fortune and honor of touring with the legend Bill Champlin, and he encouraged the band to record the ”lost song” Sweet Marie”, a track that didn`t make it on the legendary Chicago 17 album. Inspired by Bill, TOBB started recording their own original material witch had been neglected for years! The result is The album ”True To Our Sound” The Album consists og 10 songs with a strong emphasis on melody, with extensive vocal arrangements and horns all over every track! Guest vocalists is Bill And Tamara Champlin on Sweet Marie, a true honor for the band! The album also features a recording of The Tubes classic ballade ”Don`t want to wait anymore” with an intricate horn arrangement added! If you like Chicago, The Eagles, The Tubes etc. You will like TOBB!

Search | Add | 3 | Unknown Mystery 60's Group | "The songs released on the Distortions CD in 1997 were found on a reel to reel tape at an outdoor flea market in Philadelphia. Nothing was known about the group except for the song titles which were written on the tape box. In 2001 Octopus Records attempted to track down the identity of the band and eventually made contact with the band's drummer, living in Spain. A second and a third volumes (2007, on Birdhouse Records) of material were released but the band elected to remain anonymous." It seems that the "Unknown Mystery 60's Group" is in fact a clever modern artistic project from Philadelphia, led by guitarist Tim Shea and made to appear to sound like it was recorded in the 60's.

Search | Add | 3 | Xenofanes | Xenofanes is a thrash/death metal band, based in Strängnäs, Sweden. Formed in February 1993, by Jocke Hasth (guitar) and Morgan Wiklund (drums and vocals) with Danne Sporrenstrand (guitar) joining soon after. Crille Lundin (bass) and Klabbe Alaphia (vocals) joined Xenofanes in the summer of 1994, completing the lineup, and the band was initially active until November 23, 1996. The decision to restart/reform the band came about in 2009, after Jocke and Crille "met over a cup of coffee", and Klabbe, Danne, and Morgan were all asked if they wished to join again, with Klabbe being the only former member interested. After recording a 2 song demo, with studio owner Henke Borg filling in on drums, the band recruited Mange Edqvist, in August 2011, completing their lineup

Search | Add | 3 | Franklin Haynes | From Promo literature included with 99 Proof: (Transcribed as written) Franklin "Cindefella" Haynes, is 99% Proof, proof that it can be accomplished in short dreams as well as long dreams, in small town such as Lumberton, Texas as well as big cities like New York, not often, but it is possible. Franklin has the good looks, talent, and persistence to be a number one country recording artist. Not that good looks and persistence are or are not the key ingredients, but they sure do help, and I don't know anyone who would turn either one down. Franklin admits Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt are his greatest inspiration to become a singer, but, unlike others, Franklin never sang in bars or concerts, or at picnics. Franklin Haynes only sang in his pickup truck, traveling the highways and byways of Southwest Texas. Franklin's friends suggested he enter a talent contest in Beaumont, Texas, he did, and won the contest, pleasing the crowd with his magical voice. Seven days later, Franklin Haynes was on his way to Nashville to record his first record release with A.M.I. Records. This quickly led to a video and a fie year recording contract. Franklin Haynes, a medicine man (as in doctor) yesterday, a recording artist today. A.M.I. Records President, Michael Radford says "he has never seen it happen quite so fast for any "up" and "coming" star," and is happy with Kvin Waugh, A.M.I VP viewed the video of the Beaumont Texas Talent show with Franklin's performance. His enthusiasm quickly spread throughout the company, "A.M.I. is very excited about working with Franklin. Franklin makes the crowd come alive, as you would have found had you visited his press and signing party sponsored by A.M.I in Beaumont, Texas where Franklin debuted his new single and video and signed autographs. On hand were two of the three local T.V stations, both local news papers as well as the top two Country Radio Stations to interview him for feature "home boy makes good" news stories. Later that same evening he gave a superb performance to a filled house, at the Barbaray Coast Night Club. The folks around Beaumont and Lumberton are mighty proud of this musical newcomer. Watch for his first Music Video "99% PROOF", being aired on such major networks as TNN and CMT, and his first CD release of the same title. You'll find cameo performances in the video by David Chamberlain, writer of 99% PROOF and of such #1 hits as ** George Straights "AM I BLUE" ** "WHAT'S GOING ON IN YOUR WORLD" ** TANYA TUCKER'S "WITHOUT YOU WHAT AM I GONNA' DO WITH ME". If you are ever in an area where FRANKLIN HAYNES is appearing, make sure you catch his show, you will be glad for the experience of seeing his performance and you will be a fan from then on. So...the sleepy little town of Lumberton, Texas has a real, true to life Cindefella story and they're mighty proud of it. Thanks Garth and Travis for the inspiration!!!

Reminiscent of a row of shops somewhere between almost and never quite. In the last miles of plastic backlit signage, never where you're meant to be, but a place you'll never forget. Stripmall evokes the place where frustration and hope exist. True Alberta contrast where the West meets the concrete.

Search | Add | 3 | The Kapp Ivory Project | Kapp and Rachel met in Detroit in 1989 not long after Kapp came back from touring with The Winans and Rachel was still doing track dates with Kiara, an Arista recording artist. Kapp and Rachel started recording in various studios around the city trying to develop their own unique sound, but then decided to establish their own studio for greater consistency and accessibility. In the early 1990's, Rachel topped the state and performed on Star Search with Ed McMahon, where she reached the semi-finals. In the meantime, Kapp was working with people like Motown writer Barrett Strong and Parliament/ Funkadelic founding member Calvin Simon, both Rock & Roll Hall of Famers. They also teamed with a Detroit radio station personality and created the theme song for the Detroit Pistons at the time of their N.B.A. championship. They then collaborated with legendary techno-house DJ Kevin Saunderson, from Virgin Records recording artist Inner City, on The Reese Project. The first single Direct Me (Giant Records/Warner), featuring Rachel, went #1 for six weeks on the U.K. Billboard charts. The second single, Colour of Love (Giant Records/Warner), also featuring Rachel, went #3 for four weeks on the U.K. charts, as the full CD Faith, Hope & Clarity (Giant Records/Warner) was released. During the later 1990's, Kapp and Rachel produced and collaborated with a number of artists, including R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop, Gospel, Rap, Classical, and Country. In 1999, Kapp teamed with Kern Brantley from Crazy Joint (Bad Boy Records) and produced Lighthouse for the gospel choir New Direction on Word Records/Sony. Family Unit was formed later that year, developing a strong local Detroit following and a library of unreleased studio recordings. Since then, Kapp and Rachel's production work has been in constant demand, with Kapp's contributions on Put Your Hands Up In the Air (Westbound, 2001) by the Original P (Parliament/Funkadelic) being his most recent hit effort.

Search | Add | 3 | Mister Drey | Born and raised in the outskirts of Bologna (Granarolo), Mr. Drey was, (and it's a pity when this is not remembered), an enfant prodige of the teen punk scene (with No Hope) and with the ska/reggae/high school rocksteady (Urka, Explanation of Palmas). The notoriety of these bands brought him no lucky occasions nor any good. Gradually isolating himself from the musical scenes of the time (due to continuous inevitable and urgent approaches to the revolutionary theory), he became uninterested in the musical production until the fortuitous listening (on night-time local radio stations) to avantguarde sounds, appreciated especially for their hypnotic power. This led him to the first autonomous composition experiments, resulting in various half hour simil-ambient composition cassetes of which no one will ever know anything about. One of these is another young granarolese outsider, Mattia (now the owner of Niggaville), with whom home recordings are started to pass the time, and which will introduce him to one of the first formations of SLP, period which he practically doesn't remember at all. After having again disappeared due to trying to live as Theodore Kaczynski, he accidentally resumes touch with SLP and begins rehearsing with them at the XM24 test room. There will also be a parallel and brief (but magical) intermission with Dadatzara Kamagauna ( together with the already known Mattia and with Davide, the current SLP bass player). SLP will move ever so fast towards the making of Studio Album, which will see him engaged behind the skins. But a little after this seminal recording, he again slowly disappears (together with Derek Dick Decio) to try to live as William Burroughs. Discouraged and semi-isolated he again begins working on his own material and discovers the use of the laptop and of Audacity, which will bring him to sporadic and expected imitations of Christian Fennesz. Resuming touch with SLP he doesn't fortify his position in the band rather an alliance on higher theoretical positions almost never openly expressed. He no longer plays with SLP but he collaborates and his on friendly terms with them. He produces Derek Dick Decio's first disc and is part of Achievements. He likes melody, the beautiful one (or the stretched one) and only operates in this view. He would like to be like Fennesz and Tarentel together, but at the end he makes music only to learn how to better use the softwares and to be able to delete the pieces when he no longer likes them, that is after little time.

Search | Add | 3 | Daddy Twan | Shala S. T. Emmanuel | Little is known about Daddy Twan. His past lays somewhere in the shades of the island of St. Lucia where he is told to have been a smuggler to make a living. His kind of Reggae is cool, dark, positive, and powerful, but most of all it is charismatic and it looks into the future. When performing live, the stage lights illuminate his wooden leg prosthesis when he leans on his handcrafted wooden stick and in his dark voice teaches his critical opinions about what's going on these days to the audience. |
