Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Bogdan Tașcău Marian Bogdan Tașcău Romanian singer, composer, producer born in 1978 He attended the keyboard section of People's Art School in Bucharest and he is a graduated actor. At present, he attends the classes of the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations (SNSPA) as a second year student, but he is obviously mainly focused on music. Both as a singer and as a manager or composer as well, Bogdan was lucky, finding the right solution to changing a song, a band or a musical project into a success. In 1995, together with one of his best friends, Sorin, Bogdan initiated one of the first dance bands in Romania - MB&C. In 1996, MB&C released the first album of dance music in Romania (only one side of the tape, together with Isteria on the other side), Romanian Jungle and a year later he would participate in one of the most popular musical events of that period, Radio Contact Galas. The band released 3 albums between 1995 and 2000 and after that, Bogdan made his option for a solo career, under the name of Dl Problemă ("Mr. Problem"). A very successful period followed again for Bogdan, who released, in the years 2001-2004, 3 albums. As a composer and manager, he collaborated with important voices of Romanian musical stage, like [a553972] or [a646610], and he is the composer and manager of the band [a1917648], already at its third album. In 2006, Bogdan's composition activity was awarded with the Prize for Artistic Excellence offered by the Foundation [a918339] in Mamaia Festival, in the creation section, with the song Muza mea (“My Muse”), interpreted by his two good collaborators and friends, Andrei and Kamara ([a1917648] components). In 2000 he founded [l504492] Currently he relaunched his career with new project ''Free DeeJays'' together with Rareș Varniote.

Search Add 4 Cubique DJ Cb Thulani Mabena Thulani Mabena aka “[a=Cubique DJ CB]” an African Deep, Soulful House, Hip Hop producer and DJ, hailing from a musical family. Thulani is highly influenced by his cousins Nathan Xulu "[a=Nathan X]", Mteya Xulu "Mteya" and father Calvin Xulu. Born and raised in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa. From his youth playing basketball for the national South African team for two years, Thulani’s music career began in the mid year 2005 at the age of 13, when Hip Hop was still a big part of Middelburg’s music scene. Recorded music for fun with artist like “Vague Rizemblenze, Osifiz Aeschylus”. With no success in the making of Hip Hop, Thulani had to depart from his deep art. Two years later he began doing his own music production, both Hip Hop & Dance Music. The Hip Hop lessened when the dance scene erupted at his hometown, that’s when his DJ career took place. In those days, if you were not a vinyl DJ it wasn’t easy to get into a DJ line up, let alone get paid for being a DJ. Met Nicholas Mboweni “[a=Cuebur]” who taught him more about music than anyone else could ever have. Vinyl DJ skills were self-taught when an influential DJ Ndaba Maseko “DJ Ndaba” gave him turntables as a gift for his birthday. Thulani has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career remixing songs for artists locally and internationally. Released music with labels such as Peng Music, Cabana Recordings by [a=Justin Imperiale], Nulu Recordings by [a=Antonello Coghe], Soul Candi, Melomania & artists like [a=Aphreme] & [a=Cei Bei] To Name A Few. Thulani is still doing a lot of remixing as it helps build and architect his production skills. Thulani is one of the artists doing music production for artists like [a=Troy Denari], [a=Amera Light] which are big names in the dance music scene, also doing Hip Hop production for artists like Golden Shovel of “Optical Illusion. 2011 Thulani then met a label owner “Jaguar Paw” who runs the label [l=DeepForestSA] which pushes artists like [a=Darque], [a=McGee Keys], [a=Garth & G-rel], Wishingsoul, [a=Floss], Musskid, [a=Kaylow] to name a few. Signed under the label and got recognized by other labels.

Search Add 4 Last Blue Drag Last Blue Drag begins their ascension into super earth stardom with their self titled debut album. The band was birthed naturally without painkillers in separate homes in Oakland California USA on the evening of Sunday September 29th, 2019. Joey and Jeffrey met downtown in the summer of 2018 and bonded over mutual love for greyound station automated drip coffee dispensers, meditation, mantra recitation, corso paperbacks and severely damaged friends. The debut album was completed in just ten furious tripped and sunburnt days with full visual stimulation to fuel teenage fantasies far and wide for decades to come. The wind is at our backs, motherfuckers. Come and ride this rocket with us. Take us back to the beginning.

Search Add 4 The Gyrators The Gyrators are a collective of musicians paying homage to the early Jamaican ska, reggae and roots scene. Their work is a loving tribute to the extraordinary musicianship of these early pioneers. The project was concieved by drummer and producer Joe Colfar; recruiting bassist Dan Walker, guitarist Stuart Andrews, and trumpeter Mike Murphy to record a version of Val Bennett's 'The Russians are Coming!' Endeavouring to stay true to the enchanting spirit and sound of the original, the four of them paid great attention to recapturing the roots of the record before adding their own splash of seasoning to it. With one track completed The Gyrators were born. Over the course of 2019 they chose more songs to recapture; from Lynn Taitt's stomping ska attack of "Storm Warning" to The Soul Vendors' hazy daydream of "Musical Science"; and recruited even more fantastic musicians to contribute to the authenticity of each track: Keys were provided by both Nic Dacre and Jamie Bullok, saxophone by Vanessa Humpreys, trombone by Ruben Durazo and addition trumpet by Glenn Holdaway. The result of this labour of love can be heard on The Gyrators' album 'Sounds From Another Dimension' out April 2020.

The orchestra made many recordings for Bavaria Film Studios in Geiselgasteig, which may explain the alternate name (and the anglicised form "Bavaria" in particular).
