Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | La Rana Toro | La Rana Toro began its musical career in 1997. Influenced in its beginnings by the punk rock and melodic hardcore bands of the western coast, they have evolved in successive recordings towards a more elaborate sound, full of textures and nuances with multiple influences, difficult to be established in a concrete style or scene. This has led them to share stage with bands of various styles and provenances such as Bad Religion, Dog Eat Dog and Vetusta Morla to name a few. Since their foundation they have published four works and are currently presenting "Minúsculo Infinito" (2015) their last studio work. Recorded between El Sotano studios and the studio of Gonzalo, guitar and main composer of the band. "Minúsculo Infinito" houses generally slower and ethereal compositions bathed in reverb and delay, giving much importance to the dynamics of each theme without leaving aside in some moments the rockiness that has characterized them in the past.

Search | Add | 4 | Алиса Апрелева | Татьяна Коломейцева | Alisa Apreleva is a Russian singer, composer, multiinstrumentalist, producer, and poet. Alisa Apreleva's music is rooted in a wide variety of genres: from authentic Eastern Slavic folklore to chamber to jazz to rock to film music. She uses voice and an array of acoustic instruments (cellos, harp, accordion, hang drum, piano, ethnic drums), along with looping and electronic processing, in her compositions, creating the style best described as "acoustic ambient". EthnoLoops, her most recent project, is a solo set for voice, cello and a loop station, where Eastern European and Native American traditional songs coexist with original compositions to create a universe full of joy and color. Soundscapes around EthnoLoops are build by Ishaan Chhabra, a sound architect from India. Alisa Apreleva's CD "Lucidus", including 11 compositions for voice, drums and three celli, was released in 2011. Finest musicians from Russia, United States, Mexico, India, Costa Rica were involved in production and presentation of the album, which was enthusiastically welcomed by critics, fans and musical connoisseurs in Russia, Europe, United States and Latin America. Alisa Apreleva started performing professionally early in her life as a classical singer and pianist. Since 2001, Alisa has acquired popularity as a singer-songwriter and a widely published poet. In 2003-2004 Alisa worked as an actress with “Tample” musical theater (Moscow, Russia). In 2003 Alisa graduated cum laude from the Lomonosov Moscow State University with Master’s Degree in Linguistics and Education and entered the post-graduate school. In 2004 Alisa moved to Seattle, USA. Since then she lives between two continents and writes songs in two languages. Starting from 2006, Alisa Apreleva is getting more and more popular around the globe as “the Russian singing cellist wonder”. In 2006-2008 Apreleva studied film scoring with Hummie Mann ("Robin Hood: Men in Tights", "Year of the Comet", "Dracula: Dead and Lovin It", "Language of the Heart", "Sleepless in Seattle, "Simpsons", "ALF"), within the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. During 2010 - 2012 Alisa continued her music education as a scholarship recipient of Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), majoring in Music Therapy studies. In 2010-2011 she also studied classical composition with Tibor Pusztai, composer and conductor from Hungary. Alisa Apreleva is featured on "Mi única llave" CD by José Mercé (2012, produced by Javier Limón), "Eastern Tapestries" by Christiane Karam (2012), and more. Some of the venues Alisa Apreleva has performed at are: Grand Concert Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, DOM cultural center (Moscow, Russia), Webster Hall (NYC, NY), Middle East Downstairs (Cambridge, MA), Berklee Performance Center (Boston, MA), Old South Church (Boston, MA), Amante Club (San Francisco, CA), Jewel Box Theatre (Seattle, WA), Mstrsk (Moscow, Russia), Library of Arts (Voronezh, Russia), Laboratorio de Arte Alameda (Mexico City, Mexico). |

Search | Add | 4 | Art No Art | Art No Art Started out as a writers forum for a group of jazz musicians. They would meet after hours in the old Aurora Music building in the city of Shoreline, WA. They eventually moved to a basement studio and then to a room at Kellogg Middle School, and sometimes at Shorecrest High School. After they accumulated enough material, they voted on songs and proceeded to record at Basic Tracks Studio. This was a home studio in Warren Newton's duplex. They pooled together all their then brand new digital gear (1989) and set up the studio. The tape recorder was a Tascam 40-4 1/2 inch 8 track. Two computers were used to store the midi tracks: an Atari ST1040 and an Apple Mac Plus. This was mixed it down on what was then state-of-the-art Alesis 1622 mixer onto a Toshiba DX900 VCR (Which had two digital tracks via "PCM Capability"). The band endured floods, power surges, and a street demolition crew during the session that resulted in "No Doubt About It" (1990). For further information, contact "Art No Art" at {obs} 328 N.E. Serpentine Pl. Seattle, WA. 98155.

Search | Add | 4 | Dead Alchemist | Dead Alchemist emerges in 2013 from the hand of Sergio G. Barragán, a veteran artist since the late 90s in the Spanish East Coast club scene. His origins from the metal and industrial bands led him to handle samples and synthesizers before becoming interested in the most refined electronics. He develops his career as a resident DJ of the Sala Dr. Slump in Castellón and owns his own store and distributor of vinyl Phonic Muzic at that time, giving great cultural thrust to this city. During this stage as dj techno would be his most usual style, mixed with acid house, Idm and any style that fit his sets. He is half part of Tiritatucan (a live performance along with Rafa Escuin) and co-owner of Motion Related Recods, a label founded with the artist Ctrls303 in 2019.

Search | Add | 4 | Wilson Danilo | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus, or simply Wilson Danilo, Born in Salvador, Bahia, died in 2013, on the eve of his 100th birthday, he was a radio / announcer, presenter, singer and composer. Owner of an extensive and accurate vocabulary, besides the powerful voice, he began his career in 1942, in Rio de Janeiro, as speaker of the speaker system known at the time as "bell mouth". At this same period he recorded his first work as a singer. A 78 rpm disc with the songs "A Canção de Friburgo (The Song of Friburgo)", of Antônio Caetano, and "Palhaço da Vida (Life's Clown) ", of César Cruz. Since then, he recorded several discs, among 78 rotations, singles, double singles and CDs. Danilo played tangos, boleros and MPB classics with impressive mastery. He alone gave the impression that there was an orchestra on the stage. In 1957, the illustrious character moved to Governador Valadares, in the eastern part of Minas Gerais, where he worked on "Mundo Melhor", "Educadora" and "Ibituruna" (the only three AM stations in the city at the time). In these radio stations, nowadays practically dead, Danilo did everything: he was a helper, a janitor, a sound engineer, an advertising salesman, a presenter and a director. In his popular program, he had one of the largest audiences ever in the region. He began the presentation of the hour with phrases and verses of his own. Something like: "Beautiful girl / from my city / my love for you / I want your happiness / my love / my good will ...". In the early sixties he recorded in a compact of 78 rotations the Afro drum "Só o ôme", written by the Bahia composer Edenal Rodrigues, also played by Noriel Vilella, from the legendary group Nilo Amaro & the Ebony Singers. |

Search | Add | 4 | Dodoly | Dodoli Kidima | Dodoli Kidima (sometimes spelled Dodoly) is a Congo DR soukous guitarist. He is best known for his high speed solos, for which he has been nicknamed la machine a coudre ("the sewing machine").He began his career in [a=Orchestre Stukas], a soukous band that reached the apex of its popularity in Zaire in the mid-1970s. In the 1980s he played the lead guitar briefly in [a=Bipoli Tshando]'s short-lived band [a=Victoria Principal] but reached the apex of his popularity in [a=Bozi Boziana]'s [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc], one of the bands the dominated the soukous scene in that decade. Dodoly was so fundamental to [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc]'s sound that, when he left, the musicians that replaced him (including major guitarists such as Rigo Star) all sought to imitate his style. Dodoly left [a=Orchestre Anti-Choc] briefly in 1987, to join [a=Djo Nolo]'s short-lived project [a=Choc Musica], but rejoined Boziana's band in 1988. That year, he was nominated "best guitarist" by the Kinshasa press. In Anti-Choc, he also contributed as a composer, writing hit songs such as Lelo Makambo – Lobi Makambo ("problems today, problems tomorrow"). He left Anti-Choc again in the mid 1990s. |

Search | Add | 4 | Bill Agle | My love of acoustic music started in the high country of North Carolina. Being left handed I taught myself how to play upside down. I was 17 years old when I got my hands on a brand-new Martin D-18, later a D-35 and finally an N-20. I never looked back or wanted other guitars. I still record and play live with the same guitars. I seemed destined to meet great musicians and others involved in music. During my years in college in the North Carolina mountains, I came to know some very talented people, many of whom are now life-long friends I do appreciate everyone’s support so much. It has been a long and costly road to re-obtain the publishing rights to my music, bring three past projects to CD, and at the same time record new music while working on the studio. You have no idea how much I appreciate the musicians and engineers who have surrounded me and have lifted me up to a better sound. I am now looking forward to the next project. Enjoy! Bill

Search | Add | 4 | Oenix | French New Wave/Punk band from Rouen, Normandie, formed in 1979 & split in 1980. From Website : Black Bonnie Since its beginnings in the 80s, this punk group from Rouen has carved out a solid reputation. With the release of his first 45 rpm, Oenix will leave an anecdotal but lasting mark in the history of French rock. Annie Chancel, better known as Sheila , was at the time the victim of rumors that she was in reality a transsexual. Cover and lyrics of the single They want to sleep with Sheila play to the fullest on this ambiguity and trigger a huge outcry. The singer's record company fumes and threatens. The scandal surely allowed the group to sign with Virgin and release the record with a reworked cover and the same title punctuated with beeps*. Now at Oenix, They want to sleep with* ... “ Wouap dou woap chibidoua... They want to sleep with... beep ... but too bad she has big arms. They want to sleep with... beep ... but too bad it's a guy. They want to sleep with... beep ... but no, no, but you've seen the thighs she has! There's no denying it, but what a big pile. Yes, but they like it. Woop dou woap chibidoua… “

Search | Add | 4 | Ready D | Deon T Daniels | Ready D - real name Deon - was born in District Six, Cape Town. Growing up on the desolate Cape Flats, Deon, was constantly surrounded by gangs, poverty and a lack of identity - a legacy of the forced removals from District Six. During his teens, however, Deon found refuge with the beginnings of the Hip Hop culture, and started breakdancing. At the age of 15 he joined a crew - Ballastic Rockers - which featured Ramone, Jazmo and Gogga who would later also combine to form POC. A turning point in Deon's career was a trip to Liverpool, England, sponsored by a friend. Here Deon, came into contact with some of the top DJ's plying their trade at the time. On returning to Cape Town, Deon acquired his first pair of Lenco turntables ... it was the birth of Ready D the DJ. ...In 1990 Ready D entered the South African National DJ Championship ... he has won it three times since, and remains the most skilled and versatile Hip Hop DJ in South Africa. Also known as The Black Battle Cat and DJ X-Plode. |
