Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Terry Pazmiño Classic concertist born in Quito, Ecuador. Pazmiño belongs to a generation of composers and virtuousos who demystified the European influences and rediscovered popular music from Latin America. The work of Pazmiño is the result of a constant search of his roots, enriched with frequent tours around the world; and it has progressively become an approach to the indigenous sources, and it gives a great variety of tendencies. In his youth, he dominated the forms of the Ecuadorian popular music, such as the sanjuanito, pasillo, capishca and yumbo. Subsequently, he traveled to Venezuela and France to study with three masters of the instrument: Antonio Lauro, Alirio Diaz and Alberto Ponce. For nine years he lived and studied in Sydney, Australia, where he achieved a "Honours Masters" degree from the university of Western Sydney; there he disclosed the South American folk music. Many of his compositions are derived from andean Quichua and Latin American music. Pazmiño has biult a singular repertoire based on the urban popular music, capturing the magical realism of the daily life. He has offered recitals and concerts in the greatest rooms of 42 countries, including the "Sydney Opera House" and the "Carnegie Hall" of New York, sharing a work that gives power, originality, magic, simplicity, enchantment and freshness, all from one guitar. The critics say "... as in music everything has been told, Terry re-tells the same stories, but in a different way ". From his extensive musical production, several pieces deserve special distinction: the composition "Cantata to November 15th of 1922", Booklet "20 harmonizations of Ecuadorian music for guitar", 15 books of "Ecuadorian music for duets, trios and guitar soloists", the "Treasures of Music" collection, "Songs for a New World", and "Concert of the Andes". He has produced 10 cassettes and 4 compact discs, with arrangements and compositions that has become the most faithful testimony of his work.

Mic's musical career has spanned many decades and his father was the most influential person in making music his life. After touring for many years with Tower of Power he decided to settle down with his family. He has since began a program called, "Music in the Schools" to help struggling music programs nationwide to keep their doors open. He continues to teach, record, arrange and play live gigs in Northern California. Mic is best known for 40+ years of stellar horns work with Cold Blood, Tower of Power, and the Sons of Champlin. But not as many people realize that he has appeared on countless albums and CDs for some of the biggest names in the music business--Santana, The Rolling Stones, Sheryl Crow, Doobie Brothers, Quincy Jones, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Jefferson Starship, Huey Lewis and the News, and numerous others. Mic also enjoyed a brief stint with Blood, Sweat & Tears. An original member and leader of the legendary Tower of Power Horn Section, Mic has also established an enviable reputation for his work with youth and school bands. In particular, his affinity for working with middle school and high school students has endeared him to a whole new generation of fans in the 21st century. In August 2009, Mic rejoined Tower of Power on a full-time basis after a 25-year absence, a position he held until February 2011. The Mic Gillette Band released 2 CDs Moondoggy and Turning Two.

Search Add 2 Sara Laine A San Francisco Bay Area singer and recording artist who writes and sings about matters of the heart. Her music is best described as grit and twang, and it crosses over from Rock into Roots, Country, R&B, and Pop. Sara has been compared to artists like Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Nicks, but she crosses new frontiers with her latest single "Uncomplicated," an upbeat and uplifting track that features contemporary electro pop & house dance remixes from CAPP Records producers Novation along with Steely M & Cary August. Who doesn't want to find a love that's simple and natural—which is something we all strive for.
