Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

He then served with the Navy aboard the USS Grackle, where he was a member of the Frogmen team. He retired from the service as a Lieutenant JG. At the age of 12, his musical career began when he formed and led his own 12-piece band, the Cliff Duphiney Orchestra, which played throughout Westchester County, N.Y. Following his stint in the Navy, he formed a trio called "My Three Sons," and played nightclubs throughout the country including the Sahara and Thunderbird hotels in Las Vegas. During his childhood, he developed a love for horses which continued throughout his life. During his career as a professional musician, he also rode the rodeo circuit and worked as a stuntman in movies which lead to his show name, "Cowboy at the Keyboard." His performance at the organ keyboard so impressed the Hammond Organ Co. that it provided him with a custom-built organ and gave his performance the title "Sounds Impossible." Cliff went on to make several RCA recordings of his organ music and vocals. After 10 years on the professional circuit, he was ready for a slower pace and came to Waterville where he performed at the Ferris Arms Hotel. There he met his future wife, the former Judy Shorey. They married on Sept. 24, 1967, and hit the road together with his organ and two horses, his stunt horse, Babe, and Judy's wedding gift, an Arabian horse named Jude whom he often rode in local parades. They traveled for a year to finish out Cliff's professional contract before settling in Fairfield. Their daughter Kellie was born Sept. 2, 1968. The family's Fairfield Riverside Ranch was known for its stable of magnificent Arabian horses. Cliff continued his musical career for many years in the state of Maine at such places as the Jed Prouty Tavern in Bucksport, The Carriage Inn in Pittsfield, The Silent Woman in Waterville, the Augusta House, the Country Loft in Troy and the American Legion in Waterville as well as many others. As a child he had taken art lessons as well as music lessons and in the late 1970s, while still working as an entertainer, he again picked up a paint brush and mastered his portrait skills. He soon opened Judy's Art Gallery in Fairfield and began giving art lessons and music lessons. In the past several years, he has done portraits of many famous performers and politicians. Cliff was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Western Artists Association, and the Arabian Horse Association.

Search | Add | 14 | Dolly Kay | Dora Kirschenbaum | Dolly Kay (12 June 1900? – 26 August 1982) was an American vaudeville singer who recorded in the 1920s and was one of the first white singers to incorporate blues songs into her repertoire, most notably "Hard-Hearted Hannah". Details of her life are obscure. She was probably born Dora Kirschenbaum in New York City in 1900. She lived with her parents in Westchester, New York, and worked as a stenographer. According to a Los Angeles Times article in 1923, she was so inspired by seeing a vaudeville performance a few years previously that she introduced herself to an agent, who auditioned her and immediately hired her. She began performing as a singer on the Orpheum Circuit, with pianist Phil Phillips, who remained her accompanist for at least the next twenty years. She was described by one reviewer as "one of the better hot type vocalists... a distinctive singer of her day". She recorded for Columbia Records between 1921 and 1924. Her first recording, "Cry Baby Blues", was made in New York in October 1921, and the following year she had commercial success with "You've Got To See Mama Ev'ry Night (Or You Can't See Mama At All)", which she recorded with Frank Westphal and his Orchestra. Her biggest success came with "Hard-Hearted Hannah", which she was one of the first singers to record, in 1924. She also recorded several other blues songs from Tin Pan Alley songwriters, including "Wabash Blues" (1921), "Sweet Man O' Mine" (1922) and "It Takes A Good Woman (To Keep A Good Man At Home)" (1926). Her later recordings were released on the Harmony label — a subsidiary of Columbia — and finally, in 1928, by Vocalion Records. She also used the pseudonyms Margaret White to record for Lincoln Records, and Sally Freeman on Harmony, and recorded as a member of two vocal groups, the University Six and the Georgians, led by trumpeter Frank Guarente. She continued to perform in vaudeville and cabaret, in Chicago and elsewhere, in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1942, Billboard reported of a performance in Chicago that she was "long a favorite in local spots... Dolly Kay (with Phil Phillips at the piano) is of the old stock and sells tunes with the force of a veteran...". Her last known performance was in Los Angeles in 1965, when she appeared in a variety show to honor the 40-year career of theatre and movie star Fifi D'Orsay. She died in Los Angeles in 1982, at which time she was also known as Dolly Riccio. |

Search | Add | 14 | Rodrigo Otarola | Rodrigo Otarola Cano | Rodrigo Otarola, é um cantor compositor, produtor e intérprete espanhol, vive no Brasil desde criança. |

Search | Add | 14 | The Hideous North | Eric North | Founded in 1999 in bassist/experimentalist Eric North’s studio apartment in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI., The Hideous North was primarily a studio project. After his sophomore album ‘If It Sings Like You Do’ in 2001, North began to employ the help of other musicians, mostly for live performances. His album output remained primarily himself recording as a multi-instrumentalist, though accompanying performers started to became more frequent after 2003’s ‘Background Music For Foreground Times’. In 2004 Eric North released both ‘The Nidus’ and ‘Dive’ - with the former initially released without the Hideous North moniker. Later versions of it were released as The Hideous North. 2005’s ‘Your Mother Called & Said She Doesn’t Love You’ marked the last album of new material from The Hideous North, though the band remained intermittently active through about 2012. A retrospective compilation album of re-recorded selections from The Hideous North’s prior discography [‘Recollected | 1999 - 2005’] was officially released in 2017, after a four year hiatus. In 2020 The Hideous North (rather silently) reissued its entire five album discography individually as “2020 Definitive Archive Editions”, wherein each album’s tracklist was reformatted, restored, reduced and/or expanded to include every track that was initially intended for the album in its original conception. With that intent, these CD editions contain a significant amount of previously unreleased material, remastered and re-recorded tracks (many of the same versions that previously appeared on ‘Recollected’), and extended auto-biographical liner notes. As of 2022, The Hideous North remains disbanded, with no announced plans to release new material. Classic Lineup (roughly 2004 through 2012) [a=Eric North (2)] - bass guitar, lead vocals Bernard Cronin - electric guitars, backing vocals Ceril Crume - percussion [a=Rebecca Dresden] - piano/keyboards [2006 thru 2008] |

Search | Add | 14 | The Smoky Mountain Travelers | The Smoky Mountain Travelers were a five-piece bluegrass band based in Gatlinburg, Tenn., where they played at the Riverside Motor Lodge from 1976 to 1998. Led by Jack Grooms (vocals and guitar, 1930–1998), the band released a number of studio and live albums. Longtime members included Fred McMahan (vocals and bass, 1933–2013), Carl Stump (vocals and mandolin, 1935–2021), and Randy Watson (banjo and guitar, b. 1963). Although the Smoky Mountain Travelers’ roots date back to 1948, the band’s discography can be traced back to 1971’s Blue Grass Grows in the Smokies, which featured the lineup of Grooms, McMahan, Stump, Bill Chambers (banjo, 1935–1990), and Coy Finger (fiddle, 1925–2012). In 1975, fiddler Byron Doss replaced Finger, and the quintet would go on to release Live On Stage in Gatlinburg the following year. In 1976, the four backing members split from Grooms and formed the New Bluegrass Season. Grooms reassembled the Smoky Mountain Travelers with Mynabelle Keller, banjo; Mike Grove, fiddle; Malcolm Link, bass; and Enos Johnson, mandolin. The group appeared on the album The New Bluegrass Sound before Barry McCarter and Tom Caldwell took the places of Keller and Johnson respectively. It was this reshuffled Smoky Mountain Travelers lineup that saw the band’s biggest album success. The group released Smoky Mountain Smoke, Travelin’ Home, and Dreaming of a Little Cabin over the next three years, from which fourteen tracks were culled for the compilation album The Best of the Smoky Mountain Travelers, the band’s bestseller. Link, a former radio jingles singer for the copywriters who opened Thunderhead Sound Studios in Knoxville (where the Travelers recorded in the late 1970s), supplied commanding lead vocals that gave the band a new sound on such tracks as “Foggy Mountain Top” and “Fox On The Run.” Lineup changes abounded over the next decade. Rob Curtis followed Link on bass. Caldwell, who had sung the title track on Dreaming of a Little Cabin, left in 1980 and Stump returned to play the mandolin. Watson replaced McCarter on the banjo beginning in 1982. When Grove left to perform in nearby Pigeon Forge, fiddling prodigy Dorothy Ferris joined the band out of high school. This lineup recorded a handful of albums in the early 1980s, including You Are My Sunshine, Vacation in the Smokies, and Smoky Mt. Memories. By the release of Live in ’85, McMahan had returned to the band following stints with the New Bluegrass Season and the Gatlinburg Grass. He reoccupied his position on bass and Curtis moved to mandolin. The group released the cassette album Wildwood Flower before Bill Lynch replaced Curtis on 1992’s Smoky Mountain Pickin’. Amanda Mathis would join Jimmy Sims for twin fiddle work on a later Smoky Mountain Travelers cassette. The band’s last five-piece lineup included Grooms, McMahan, Watson, Earl Ownby on mandolin, and Sims and a returning Grove sharing fiddling duties. Pictured L–R: Randy Watson, Dorothy Ferris, Carl Stump, Jack Grooms, Rob Curtis.

Aunt Bertha’s prayer as she began her ministry at C.B.H. was the same then as it is today: "Dear Lord, I do not ask That Thou should'st give me some high work of Thine, Some noble calling or some wondrous task. Give me a little hand to hold in mine; Give me a little child to point the way Over the strange, sweet path that leads to Thee. Give me a little voice to teach to pray; Give me two shining eyes Thy face to see. The only crown I ask. dear Lord, to wear Is this; That I may. teach a little child. I do not ask that I may ever stand Among the wise. the worthy, or the great; I only ask that softly, hand in hand, A child and l may enter at the gate." |
