Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Kelly Jo Mitchell | Kelly Jo Mitchell is a Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter whose sound can only be described as an eclectic mix of piano-driven vintage pop and alternative folk with hints of acoustic soul and blues. Simple chords and honest lyrics combined with stay-in-your-mind melodies compliment her raw, smoky voice. Her debut album, Smile, a year-long project, is a compilation of 11 original songs that Kelly Jo wrote over a period of four years. A modern story-book romance, the album has a beginning, middle and end that takes you on a emotional journey (Breathe Easy, Sun-Kissed Nose), and pushes down the walls of heartache and challenges social norms (Paper Cuts, Fallen), charges politically (Inside), and reminds the listener that amid the chaos, just Smile. Kelly Jo writes music because her mind would overflow with a useless jumble of words if she kept it in. Pounding the keys of her modest Yamaha P60 at odd hours of the night in hopes that her neighbors won't mind, she creates crafty and simple melodies. A style unto her own, Kelly Jo's fresh approach to mix smooth vocals with pop, folk and soul is anything but a fading genre. Kelly Jo Mitchell is based in Minneapolis, a city with elevated streets in the sky that more often than not confuse her. But she grew up in a small town in Wisconsin with no streetlights, no fast-food franchises and a great family. Listening to her dad harmonize to Eric Clapton classics and Perry Como's Catch a Falling Star on cassettes while riding on his lap in a beat-up blue station wagon is her first musical memory. Her father sang back-up vocals for a handful of Wisconsin folk singers. The long car rides were his rehearsals and Kelly Jo's nesting ground to hone in on her natural musical abilities. The oldest of four and the only alto, she and her two younger sisters began singing along with their father. This introduction to folk music pushed Kelly Jo toward a microphone. She took center stage for the first time after getting the leading role as Abigail Adams in her fifth-grade musical, Dear Abby. By 11, she and her father were singing the national anthem at local sporting events, county fairs, and community fundraisers. Her two younger sisters quickly joined the duo, and the Mitchell Girls--and their dad-- were singing regularly in three-part harmony a capella, and opening for country singers the Kinlay Sisters. Within a few years, Kelly Jo had already sung the National Anthem at a Milwaukee Brewer's Game televised nationwide on TBS. By her first year in high school, Kelly Jo ventured into songwriting. A self-proclaimed band nerd, she spent her lunch hours in practice rooms playing out-of-tune pianos writing songs and performing for her classmates. At 14, she wrote her first song, Heaven Filled With Gold, featured on her first acoustic six-track CD in 2004, for a band teacher who pushed her and inspired her to pursue music. She has been writing tirelessly since. Within the last four years, Kelly Jo has shared the stage with local favorites, Kid Dakota, Adam Levy, The Twilight Hours, Breanne Duren, Cancer, The Great Upset, Aria Souder, Art Vandalay and many more igniting fans with her quirky stage presence and personable demeanor. Her musical interpretation continues to evolve as she showers herself and her CD player with a wide pallet of old and new music. From Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell, Katie Wolfe, Stevie Nicks, Indigo Girls, Perry Como, Tracy Chapman, Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt to newer influences like KT Tunstall, Tori Amos, Missy Higgins, John Legend, Duffy, Damien Rice, Adele, India Arie, Sara Bareilles and even American Idol frontrunner, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Jo has made a distinct mark in the Minneapolis music scene.

Search | Add | 3 | Wilf Conway | From Palm Desert Post May 5th 1977 "Wilf Conway grew up in the Portland and Beaverton area in Oregon. At the age of eight, his parents took him to an amateur talent radio contest; he entered and won, and so, he was booked. During the following years, he entered many more contests, and, he eventually became a professional vocalist and song writer. His first record, 'Thunder and Lightning', -- was for the Starday People in Nashville -- which is not a bad start. With his first band, 'The Bounty Hunters,' he toured the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, then went to Canada and did a syndicated TV show for the Screen Gems Co. Later, he worked at many of the clubs and casinos in Las Vegas. "After that, he went to California, working most of the clubs and hotels from Los Angeles to Capistrano. A member of the Hollywood Red TV Show, he toured with that talented little gal, Sue Thompson, who is one of the best in Nashville Sounds. "Recognized as a song writer among his many friends in the C-W music field, he has appeared on shows with such notables as Ray Price, Kitty Wells, Guy Mitchell, Jim Reeves, Johnny Ray and Wynn Stewart, among many others. Living in the Desert since 1976, he has made it his home. His latest record, 'Hollow Sounds of Silence,' is now available and has been aired on 187 radio stations in the USA and in Canada."

The group was founded by OG garage rocker Billy Gruff (aka Dave Howard), a gracefully aging New York punk with attitude and searing guitar chops. Other members have included veteran San Diego scenesters like Jerry Rig, Matt Silvia, and Spud Davenport. All four guys are seasoned pros with a long history of gigging in various genres and scenes in San Diego and across the country.

Search | Add | 3 | Mz. Fishe | Adrienne Fishe | From cdbaby.com: Funk, thump and groove, (with the sophistication of jazz influences), three adjectives from music’s lexicon capture Adrienne Fishe. Backed by her explosive band, “The New Groove”, Mz. Fishe presents a musical tour-de-force on stage. Raised in New York City, Mz. Fishe began singing in front of audiences when she was 7 years old and by the time she was 11, she knew she wanted to be a performer. Some early experiences during her musical journey have included being the 3rd runner up in the “Hal Jackson’s Talented Teen Contest” and a 3 x winner in Ed McMahon’s, all over the internet “Star Search”. In the early nineties, she began singing and performing with a popular Atlanta based band but as her spirit and aspirations grew and changed, she decided to leave the band and set out on her own. Mz. Fishe has shared the stage with Patti Labelle, James Brown, DeLaSoul, The Barkays, Mick Jagger, Diane Reeves, The Temptations, WAR, DeeLite, The Village People, TLC, MCLyte and Billy Preston…just to name a few. She has also performed in Europe, Japan, China, the Caribbean, South America and all over the U.S. and Canada. Mz. Fishe creates a unique sound that blends her essence of funk, jazz and an ultra-cool version of dance grooves. This singer and her band relate like the heart, mind and soul as one, creating an explosive energy that allows this Diva to cast her spell. The band weaves an ultra-hip, ultra-cool amalgam of sound sensibility. The smoothness of Mz. Fishe’s voice laid over percussive textures in the music ignites a soul stirring energy that forces the audience to surrender to its hypnosis. One of her incredibly infectious danceable and uplifting tunes, “You Lift Me Up”, is featured on the European “Sound of Solar Radio” compilations. This is a great tune!!! Her debut release, “Mz. Fishe and The New Groove” can be purchased online at CDBaby.com, iTunes, BestBuy.com, Dustygroove.com, Groovenation.net Stonegrooverecordings.com, Billboardtalentnet.com, Simplysouldistribution.com all over the internet or directly from the artist herself at any one of her many live performances. Mz. Fishe formally toured with the National touring cast of the Broadway smash hit “RENT” as Joanne Jefferson, and with the RENT 10th Anniversary Broadway World touring cast. Currently Mz. Fishe travels and performs internationally as the lead vocalist for Royal Caribbean International. You can find out what Mz. Fishe is up to! Check her out on Facebook, YouTube or www.mzfishe.com! Now, three other words apply…… mesmerizing, mystifying and alluring!! |

Search | Add | 3 | The Cinnamon Firm | Hugh Burns - Vocals, Guitar Joe Curley - Lead Guitar Michael "Denny" Dennison - Organ Jeff Lynas then Kieran McCann - Bass Paddy Johnston then Norm Burns - Drums The band were formed in November 1997 by five friends from belfast's mod / 60s revivalist scene. After only five rehearsals the band played their first gig at Copperfields in Belfast . In April 1998 Kyran McCann took over as Bassist from Geoff Lynas. The five piece were picked up by manager Jim Rielly, erstwhile of from 70's punk legends Stiff Little Fingers. This led to a session at Novatech Studios where they recorded their debut EP (which ended up being an albums worth of material). They took just one day to record 11 tracks. The subsequent release "Cottonwool Crossroads" was very well received, especially within the UK mod scene . The band then toured throughout the UK and Ireland and received some interest from US record labels. 1998 Norm Burns took over Drums from Paddy Johnston and a collection of new songs were then laid down at Ja Studios in March 1999. This led to interest from a well known boxing promoter Dean Powell. The Firm embarked on a frenzied summer of gigs and secured a regular spot at the Creature Club (Vicos). The song 'Doing Me Wrong' from the Ja sessions was penned for a single release in August 1999, however in early August everything started to break down, an american record company that was interested in signing the firm pulled out due to the death of the the record company's owner and soon to follow was the departure of the bands manager Jim Reilly. It wasn't long after that before the band started falling apart due to disappointment more than anything, Joe and Kyran packed their bags which effectively killed off the band, so rather than trying find to replacements and continue along the same path - Hugh and Norm decided to explore new directions while still drawing on their deeply ingrained influences by forming The Keepers. Paddy and Denny went on to form The Penny Dreadfuls (re-named The Dreads) Highlights of the time with the Cinnamon Firm include performing on BBC/ RTE television , playing with such great bands such as Nine Below Zero and of course spending a few hours with the modfather himself ---. Mr Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher , Matt deighton , Paulo Hewitt, Steve White etc in dublin.

Search | Add | 3 | Clancy's Clowns | Clancy's Clowns were an American saxophone quintet put together by Lee Gillette of Capitol Records in 1961 and marketed as a kitschy, oddball throwback act. They performed novelty arrangements of ragtime tunes from the 1920's, arranged by Capitol's Sonny Anderson and conducted by Johnny Smith. This group only exists on the 1961 recording Saxophobia, released in mono and stereo editions. Though the cover shows a quintet of sax-toting clowns, these were not the actual players on the album. Search | Add | 3 | The Dead Puppies | The Dead Puppies were formed in February of 1985 with Tommie Gunz (Thom Ryerson) and Leroy Deadboy (Joe Maagdenberg) in the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Both Tom and Joe were first year students in Confederation College's film production course. Tom was originally from London, ON, and Joe from Hamilton, ON. They began as a punk country outfit, and cut a 12 minute tape consisting of 8 original tunes. A week later Trash (Joe Lafontaine) was added to the line-up and they cut another tape, live off the floor. This time out they were a little more serious and added an edge to the songs and lost the country flavor. 'The First Cut' was issued in March 1985 with 10 more original tracks. Summer break came and the band was on hiatus until the fall. Trash was replaced by Harry P. Ness (Harry Smith) who in turn was replaced with Craig Moorhouse, another film arts student. On February 4th 1986, which was also the 106th anniversary of the Donnelly Massacre, Tom, Joe and Craig convened in the film production supply room, and set up a studio. Using nothing but a 175 Watt Peavey Tube Amplifier, two Nagra IV-S Reel to Reel recorders, a Sennheiser and a Shure microphone, and a pile of patch cords and custom made tape loops, the three art students recorded two reels worth of 'music.' It was like nothing they had made before, and the recording of the track, 'Persuasion' was video-taped. (It's a video up at YouTube, check it out!) The session went for about four hours. The tapes were labelled Volume 1, and Volume 2, and then sat on a shelf for the next seven years. The boys graduated college and went on their ways. Tom settled in Cambridge, Joe in Toronto, and Craig in London. In February of 1993 Tom and his musical current partner, Stan V. Antone, took the 1986 recording session off the shelf, as as Tom had just bought a reel to reel, and they transferred the music to cassette, editing it into a 45 minute project called 'Pathological Profile.' The tape was released in April 1993, and quickly got airplay at CHRW in London, and a review in the National Campus Magazine 'Chart.' In January of 1994 Tom put together a box set of all the Dead Puppy recordings, plus three new songs that had been written in 1985, but not performed until December 1993 with Thom on vocals, Stan on guitar, Mike Vandecamp on drums, and Jeff Harris on drums. The box set contained a book with lyrics to all 29 songs, all the tracks from "E.P.", "The First Cut," and "Pathological Profile." We move ahead to when "Pathological Profile" was re-issued on cassette in April of 2005 and promoted again, to little interest. We then entered the CD age, and Tom and Stan re-edited the 1986 recordings, re-titled them, and rose again like the phoenix as Cholera. The CD was issued on June 7th 2008 under the new title of 'Sky Skraping.' We now move from the CD age to the digital age, and Tom and Stan figured it was time to get this music out across the internet via CD Baby and i-Tunes. Here we are, exactly thirty-two years to the date, and now the 138th anniversary of the Donnelly Massacre, which occurred near Lucan, Ontario. Tom and Stan believe they received positive energy from the Donnelly spirits. Tom & Stan count these following bands as their major influence; Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Coil, The Kronos Quartet, J.O.M.F., Glen Branca, John Cage, Philip Glass, Liabach, Diamanda Galas, and John Zorn. Thank you all!

Search | Add | 3 | Paul G. Stafura | Paul G. Stafura | Paul Stafura's tamburitza experience began in 1961, at age 12, when he became a charter member of The Junior Tamburitzans of Duquesne (Duquesne, Pennsylvania). These beginnings occurred through the encouragement of his parents who wanted to develop his love for music and for his ethnic background. Just a few years later, another charter tamburitza group began in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, called the Ambassador Tamburitzans under the direction of Mr. Ivan Yanzetich. It was an all male group that played advanced selections of tamburitza music. Another community group organized by Walter Kolar, called The Tamburitza Philharmonic Orchestra, was in existence. Its purpose was to perform more classical selections for symphonic presentations on the tamburitza. By joining these groups and small combos, a strong appreciation for tamburitza playing developed, which prepared him for acceptance into the Duquesne University Tamburitzans as a performer from 1967 to 1971. Six years of undergraduate and graduate study provided great opportunities to tour both domestically and internationally. Several albums were recorded during those college years, and it was an educational experience to play and perform with so many talented musicians who came from different musical backgrounds. As the years went by, Paul performed and recorded with The Steve Vesolich Tamburitza Orchestra and played many fun gigs with The Continental Dukes of Pittsburgh. The technical side of 'live' recording became an interesting hobby leading to self-recorded albums of The Duquesne University Tamburitzans and, for several years, partial ownership of Granny's Attic Communications. During his ongoing work as Company Manager with the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, Paul penned many musical arrangements for each season's production, as well as for their travel abroad. In 1982, he was awarded a 'Meet the Composer' grant from the state of Pennsylvania for a special musical arrangement. Since 1988, he has been the Managing Director of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, which has been a tremendous experience of directing music, song, and dance with America's premiere folk ensemble. This season marks 40 years of rewarding work with the Tammies, as a student and as a professional. |

Search | Add | 3 | Steve.e! | Steve Kasper | The ways of music lovers are actually not that inscrutable as you might think. At least Steve’s ways of musical preferences are pretty easy to reconstruct. In his home town Demmin on the Baltic Sea there was Hip-Hop at first. After he moved to Dresden, he danced his ass off at Drum’n’Bass parties and not long after he got into djing. Dresden’s small, unfortunately now defunct club legend L’Houp was the first location for his DJ sets which were still under the banner of rough Breakbeat at that time. After he discovered Dubstep, the parties became more numerous, bigger and musically versatile. His dedication to Dubstep is reflected in his more recent productions. In spite of his young age, he is up to every trick when it comes to producing hot tunes. Good proofs of that are not only the three releases on jamendo.com but also his constantly evolving live set. At Uncanny Valley he is responsible for the required twist, for example with his “Unvexed Dub” on UV010. As part of the Sub Sickness crew again, he is taking care of Dubstep in Dresden. from: http://www.uncannyvalley.de/artists/steve-kasper/ |
