Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Lostronaut Lostronaut Lostronaut is a rock and roll power-trio from Ozark, Alabama. We are a three piece original rock band from Ozark Alabama. All of this started as a recording project between Dylan Wells on guitar and Jeff Quattlebaum on bass and drums. These jams led to the first record, “NonVictum”. Dan Enfinger, brought his many skills on board to complete this puzzle in February of 2017. Pulling from our multiple influences ( Led Zeppelin, Janes Addiction, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool. Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, Rush, Helmet...and so on) to weave a heavy volume -trip-ready rock landscape we released our second record and first as a live band,"Nihilimbo”, We began playing shows all over the south region of the US in support of the record and have made many friends along the way. In February of 2020 we released our third record "Sunland". From our dear friend, Becky Sandoz Carlisle frontwoman and all around badass from Sister Sandoz: From Ozark, Alabama, Lostronaut. This psychedelic "riff band" brings the classic southern rock sound back with modern art. Dylan Wells' celestial guitar melodies form the heart of Lostronaut's unique old-but-new sound ranging from mood-setting ambience to Gilmouresque solos. Dan Enfinger creates a very complementary groove with his drum style that has quiet jazz moments as well as booming rock transitions & bassist/singer Jeff Quattlebaum adds a nice finish to the rhythm section while busting a perfect tenor that's smooth & abrasive at the same time somehow, reminiscent of Perry Ferrell of Jane's Addiction. Their delightfully titled album, Nihilimbo, sways from the light & groovy to the meditative to the furious. Lostronaut will have you spaced out. Band Members: Dylan Wells - Guitars Dan Enfinger- Drums and Percussions Quattlebaum - Bass and Vox Band Interests: We like it loud and soft and sometimes quiet if its a hard kind of quiet. Howling you know when you go for it. But you don't. But then you do. Yeah. Got any money? We won't tell....we are interested in all sorts of things. Check out our videos and stuff to see what it's all about. Say hello if you see us. Phone us. Pure took his last $800 and purchased an Ensoniq ASR-X, and started cranking out beat after beat. Over time his skills increased to the point where he finally gained the talent and confidence to shop his tracks to major recording artists. In 2004 Pure met Bump J, a Chicago recording artist signed to Atlantic Records through a mutual friend and producer Boogz. Bump made countless songs to Pure’s beats and featured two of them on his “Chicagorillas/Gangsta Grillz” mixtape hosted by DJ Drama. Pure was on track to have his 1st placements with Bump’s debut album on Atlantic, but the project ended up getting shelved. In 2006 he earned his 1st placement through Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam, for their artist "Shawnna." He went on to earn two more placements on that project with the help of "DJ Geno," an employee of "Hustle Period," Studio Coordinator and personal associate of "Shawnna." By now the word got out in the Chicago music scene about 110% Pure. Pure needed representation now that he was ready for the big leagues. So in mid 2006 he inked a deal with multi-platinum management company "Track Kingz." That same year the producer launced his own production company, "Point Blank Productions, Inc." He worked with countless artists in the industry and also appeared on B.E.T's "106 And Park" in February of 2007. 2008-2011: Pitbull and Bad Boy Entertainment Management In 2008 Pure scored another placement on former TVT artist "Pitbull's" album "The Boatlift," entitled "Un Poquito" featuring "Yung Berg." That same year Pure inked a co-management deal with "Bad Boy Entertainment Group's" "Fran Spero," Senior Vice President Producer Management, Music Publishing and Special Projects. In 2010 Pure releases his new album "Pure Raw And Uncut," a compilation of songs featuring collaborations with both major and independent artists including: Shawnna, Brisco, GLC, Buk of Psychodrama and Bo Deal just to name a few. The album also features the smash hit single heard on the airwaves: “Boyshorts” featuring Co-Still. The same year, the record “Un Poquito,” featuring “Pitbull” and “Yung Berg” was featured in the 2010 film “Inhale” directed by “Baltasar Kormákur” starring “Dermot Mulroney”, “Diane Kruger” and “Rosanna Arquette.” 2011 was another good year as Pure produced the unofficial stripper anthem, “Big Booty Judy” featuring former DTP artist Shawnna and former Slip-And-Slide artist Trina. 2012-Present: An emerging Chicago Music Scene Pure took a brief hiatus from the music business to start his clothing line Grimey League, but was inspired by the young producers and artists that emerged in the Chicago music scene in 2012 and decided to get back in the game. Pure is currently working with Chicago artist Tree, who is from the infamous Cabrini Green Housing Projects and the creator of Soul Trap (an infusion of soul samples and trap drum sounds). They are working on an EP called “Trillin” which will be all original music produced entirely by Pure. The 1st single, “Karl Malone” has been well received by Internet blogs, record labels and tastemakers, locally and nationwide. The final project will be available for sale on iTunes the beginning of November 2012.

Search Add 3 The Pottyshots Artist Biography by Mike DaRonco Formed in 1998 when John-Paul Young (bass), Corey Baumann (drums), and daVe Andrae (guitar) wanted to get something together that didn't involve any singing, the Pottyshots instead took more of a noisy, offbeat approach to surf-rock. After a number of gigs in and around their home quarters of Millawake, Beeshu Records put out their self-titled debut full-length in 1999. During that same year, the releases continued with the EP No Longer Building, before calling it quits a few months afterward.

Search Add 3 Angel S. Angel Sakurai From the early age of six years old when Angel Sakurai began his training in classical Piano and Organ, he has always had a special affinity for music. That special fondness was not limited to just classical music but also many other popular genre's like reggae, soul, dance, techno, and house music. In the mid 1990's Angel began his D.J. career spinning at popular Tokyo nightclubs like Fai, Lust, Cave, Web, Maist, Gamos, Manuera Cafe, GoGo Lounge, La Fabrique Tokyo to name a few. Angel's radio D.J. activities included spinning at FM Shonan Napasa and a Kamakura FM radio program. The year 2000 marked a notable point in his career, he was invited to participate in an album for Hemptone Inn Records. Angel produced the popular laid back track "Afternoon Gin" for the "Hemptone Inn Records VA 02" compilation album. Also in that same year, Angel released his debut album entitled "angel" in collaboration with "aor" fashion brand, popular in the young independent fashion scene. Angel's next album "angel volume 2" was released in March, 2001. This second album, also in collaboration with the Fashion label AOR was an original T-shirt and CD set. Sold at popular fashionable Tokyo shops like United Arrows, Far East Irony, this CD and T-shirt set was very well received. The Album's concept to create a cityscape soundtrack for different areas of the world special to Angel, Tokyo London, Paris, New York, and the Bali resort island, Legian. The ambient vibrations of the city and it's people, concrete or tropical, big or small. 2003, "Sexy Music" explores yet another aspect of the city. Keywords for this album are night, young Love, and things sexy. Taking the influences of late 70's and 80's Black American Contemporary Urban Music and combining the moody downbeat with present day dance music, to express Angel's unique night atmosphere. In the 2006, he was invited to participate in an album for Unity Records. Angel produced the deep and sexy track "Do What You Like" for the "SPIN:YELLOW" compilation album mixed by DJ Khadji, Unity Records A&R. 2013 Abegel released digital album “Angel Vol.01” on iTunes store and Amazon all over the world. On the other hand, Angel has started publishing Re-edit and remix singles on SoundCloud and Bandcamp since 2011.

Search Add 3 Grupo Alaya Music group from Bolivia (South America) created in 1984 in La Paz, Bolivia. The name of the group "Alaya" comes from the Aymara language which means "from above", with reference to artists living at 3,800 meters from the sea level. The musicians of the group live between Bolivia and France. In 26 years of career, 5 CDs have been produced, mainly Miguel Angel PUÑA's compositions, but also a few covers of traditional and popular Andean music. The characteristics of Grupo ALAYA's music are the links with nature and the cosmos. His music is the voice of the Altiplano and Lake Titicaca (the highest navigable lake in the world). It carries with it the melancholy of one of the poorest countries in the world that has endured four centuries of servitude, exploitation, oppression and political instability. It reflects the energy and love of a people who face their destiny without losing hope. It is the expression of the mystery of the mountains where lives El Condor, the king of birds. Grupo ALAYA wishes to promote Bolivian art which is based on a rich cultural heritage, with live events (music, song, dance ...) such as shows and animations. Participating in cultural exchanges between peoples makes it possible to affirm the personality and the soul of the Bolivian lifestyle. In a spirit of valorization and evolution of the Bolivian folklore, the group interprets different styles of music: - traditional music also called indigenous music, the one that comes from the Andean high plateau. It can be played at carnival time, but also during community celebrations. The composition of this ancestral music requires the intervention of wind instruments (sikus, zampoñas ..) and percussion (bombo ...) - contemporary city music, imbued with Spanish influence, particularly with stringed instruments such as the guitar. - modern music that retains traditional instrumentation and rhythm and uses Western instruments such as bass, drums or keyboards.  All these reasons make Grupo ALAYA an ambassador of Bolivian culture.
