Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 John Davidge Reginald John Davidge Comedian, singer and songwriter who hailed from south-west England. His lyrics and stand-up comedy act often dealt with subjects that were politically motivated or considered a little controversial for the time. Davidge began his career in the mid-'50s, using the moniker 'Reg Gray' (not to be confused with the Australian entertainer of the same name), performing in theatrical plays, musicals, and films alongside the likes of [a=Michael Caine] and [a=Sean Connery]. He appeared in the film 'Tom Thumb' (1958) and was in a West End production of 'Mr Pickwick'. In 1967, he came to the attention of the wider public when he won Granada TVs talent show, 'First Timers'. Part of the prize for winning was a contract with manager Harvey Lisberg, who was at the time mainly known for being the manager of [a=Herman's Hermits]. Though the association with Lisberg was short-lived, it wasn't fruitless, as it was through the Lisberg connection that Davidge co-wrote The Man From Nazareth with [a=Eric Stewart], [a=Kevin Godley], and [a=Lol Creme]. It got to no.25 in the UK singles chart in 1970 and was his only hit record. Maureen Prest became his manager and it was during this time that Davidge wrote a song supporting the miners' strike, simply called 'The Miners' Song'. The BBC deemed that giving it airtime would make it appear that they supported the strike, so chose to ban the record from their airwaves. In return, Prest declared that she had banned the BBC from playing it. In 1977, Davidge was involved in a car accident in Belfast that left him with injuries so serious that it effectively put an end to his career. He and Prest went their separate ways in 1978 and he settled down with a new partner who spent much of the early-'80s helping him recuperate and to recover his memory. He withdrew from public life and remained private until his death in 2011. Born: 1930 in Bath, Somerset, England. Died: 1st January 2011, in Bath, Somerset, England.

Search Add 2 My Escapade My Escapade dates back to early 2007, where brothers Jason and Simon James began rehearsing in an abandoned school, in Burnie Tasmania, with comrades Chris van Tholen and Alan Forrest. The band soon started performing all around their home state, establishing their local fan base whilst developing their sound, live presence and recording their first demos. In 2010 the band left their island-state, basing themselves in Queensland, to strengthen ties with management and support the release of their debut EP Soul’s Reflection. This move also allowed for greater access to a larger variety of live music venues and a competitive independent music scene. Soul’s Reflection was globally released through digital distribution agent Musicadium, and is available on iTunes, Nokia Music and Amazon, as well as many other online music stores. Search Add 2 Dave Handford David Handford Born in Torquay, Devon, sound artist Dave Handford has been producing organised sonic work since 1992. Through early experiments in electronic psychedelia with Vibe Tribe (1992-1993) and electronica/techno with Moduloss (1993-1995), his work now ranges from minimalist drone pieces to absurd rhythmic soundscapes. From an early interest in electronics he also constructs sound devices for recording and performance including analogue harmonic units and Theremin based machines. These have been used in Jo Shapland's performances Chrysalis (1998) and See the Woods Through the Trees (2000-2002), as well as site specific installation work such as Further Back and Faster (2001) and Radio St.Dogmaels #2 (2001) in Pembrokeshire as part of Ointment collaborative arts project. Other collaborative work has included a soundtrack for Jo Shapland's Zeitlupe (1999/2000), live and vinyl music for Continuous Sound Laboratory (2000-2001), and live soundtracking for Man Troi on Pedestal (2002) and Soluna (2002), in Ireland and Wales. Currently he is continuing his site specific, tone/harmonic Soundings throughout Wales and UK, in underground and other obtuse spaces. Since May 2001, his label [l62011] has been a vehicle for his and others experimental recordings. Under this he also records as DJ Methodist and Ministry Of Defiance.

Search Add 2 Aalborg Musikkontor Aalborg Musikkontor (sometimes with musikernes egen booking appended to the name) was a Danish musician-driven booking and management agency located in Aalborg and operating under this name from 1979 to approx. 1991. Aalborg Musikkontor also acted as a concert and event organizer, e.g. "Sommerrock '83" at Skovdalen, and was co-organizer of the "Open Air" concerts in Mølleparken. History Inspired by the new musician-driven booking agencies in Aarhus (see [a=Århus Musikkontor]) and Copenhagen (see [a=Københavns Musikkontor]) a group of musicians from Aalborg, with [a=Jan Vinther] as one of the important initiators, established Aalborg Musikkontor at the beginning of 1979. Aalborg Musikkontor was to be owned and function broadly like the corresponding agencies in Copenhagen and Aarhus. At the end of August 1979 the agency opened an office in Prinsensgade, and from 1 January 1980 the agency was permanently established with two employees, [a=Jan Vinther] and [a=Morten Laursen (3)]. To promote the associated bands Aalborg Musikkontor had an LP released in September 1980, see [r8726884]. Aalborg Musikkontor was a part of the nationwide umbrella organisation De Danske Musikkontorer, see [a=Århus Musikkontor] for more info. Inspired by various leftfield electronic and avant garde artists KB has been making his own electronic music under various monikers since the mid 90’s. He has released two full length albums under the Kosmischeboy name, '1969 Eldorado' in 1998 and 'Clockwerk' in 2008. A third album entitled 'Kollectiv' is due in 2014. Albums can be found at: http://kosmischeboy.bandcamp.com/ KB is also a founding member of multimedia collective "Quiddity" with long time collaborator Gribbles. An electronic project described as "Fluke meet Underworld in a Warpy face off". They have released two albums so far, "Broadening" (in 2010) and "Aether Songs" (in 2013) which can be found at: http://quiddity.bandcamp.com/ Over the years Kosmischeboy has worked with other musicians both in a production role and as a performer. Past collaborations include the Dan Donovan CD "The Hexx The Ghears" (Produced by Gav Monaghan) and the krautrock/electronica collective "ProjectBlueBook". 2010 saw Kosmischeboy join forces with both Temple Music and Orchis as synth player and laptop musician, and feature on several recordings released since then. He has performed with both bands all over Europe throughout 2010/13 including an appearance at the legendary WGT Festival in Leipzig, Germany, adding his distinctive electronic edge to their Neo Folk/ Krautrock soundscapes. 2011 also saw Kosmischeboy as a winner of the yearly :Wumpscut: remix competition, with his remix of the track 'Grobian' featuring as a bonus download for the 'Women and Satan First' Boxset. 2012 saw Kosmischeboy perform at the Supernormal festival in Oxfordshire as part of Black Tempest's Space Opera, a second appearance with Black Tempest followed in 2013 at the Woolf Music festival. 2013 saw Kosmischeboy resurrect his collaboration with punk poet Eaglespits, and several UK tour dates over the Summer as Eaglespitshexx. Recording sessions also took place and these will be released in early 2014.

Search Add 2 Machtenzym The energetic duo MachtEnzym has been around for quite some time evolving from the depths of Dresden’s always growing electronic music scene. They both gained massive respect and enthusiasm when playing live so it’s really no wonder the partycrowd goes wild after their unique and blending mixture of live drums (Matthias Macht) and the utterly experimental and crackling live electronics (Enzym). Razorsharp, versatile and non-standard drum patterns as both musicians play their instruments efficent with total control over the buttons and still they have enough room to improvise proved by the fact they come up with an entirely new set for every single show. Improvisation seems to be the magic concept behind the professional and stunning live shows they put up while being on stage. MachtEnzym melts together two very varied musicians to one powerful core. Rating: absolutely worth hearing!

Led by composer, synth player, and artistic director [a=Nikolay Inshakov], Whalephant offer a modern, contemporary take on traditional prog styles. Working with a diverse sonic palette, Whalephant have cited such influences as [a=Pink Floyd], [a=Bjork], [a=King Crimson], [a=Rush], [a=Emerson Lake & Palmer], [a=Sigur Ros] and [a=Yes]. While elements of each of these artists can be heard in their music, Whalephant take these influences and blends them into a fresh, unique sound. Whalephant strives to create sophisticated, intelligent music, with a degree of pop accessibility. The result is a soundtrack-like style of composing, with a dramatic flair and an intricate blend of electronic and acoustic textures.

The world has always been waiting for us. --> !! <-- & G#D: It has alwasy been the sound of the truth, 1993 FUTURISM // [Artist is Present] // †ruth || ƒeci† // they are all about the truth: about escapism from the wrong towards the righteous, from the broken towards the sublime. HERE and NOW. Something that will probably never be as clear as it is shown at this moment; its the righteous vs. the villain and the path vs. The Lost Woods. Hopes and Dreams; Sega with your little brother & SNES withthe neighbors’ kids. 3+ minute songs about naïve faces you just lost by decades of un-learning. LUFIA // CHRONO // PAST

Search Add 2 Shaun Ward Xperience They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for this musical prodigy. Born son of jazz violinist Michael Ward, he naturally gravitated to violin at the age of 3, beginning a professional music career at the age of 9. Throughout the course of his career, his soulful touch on the violin has won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life. His creativity flourishes on stage not only as a solo performer and bandleader, but also as a music director, having served as MD for BET Music Matters Artists' Ashley Kimbrae, and The Rap Pack; appearing on 106&Park and The BET Experience at LA Live, to backing R&B Crooners such as RL of "NEXT", and Calvin Richardson. This talented musician has earned the admiration and affection of critics and fans alike. His universal appeal has allowed him to travel both domestically and internationally on Jazz, Blues, and R&B Tours, opening for artists such as R.Kelly, Anthony Hamilton, Carl Thomas, K.Michelle, Tyrese. Still, Shaun knows the story of the underdog all too well, "There's no greater feeling I get than when someone new sees my violin, wondering what could I do with it, until I play those first few notes and make it sing!" Choosing to walk his own path, Shaun is on a mission to use his platform to show the next generation how to embrace what makes them unique.

Search Add 2 LaQuinton Holliday LaQuinton Holliday LaQuinton Holliday, born September 8, 1995, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer. After the death of his father in 2002, Holliday would find what would become his new reality. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, his love from music developed at an early age, mocking the likeness of Michael Jackson, James Brown, Etc. He also dreamed of being a professional wrestler in the WWE. Described as a young man with an old soul, his inspiration comes from every chamber of music. Whether it’s funk, rock, or R&B, his inspiration will be shown in his music. Holliday would record his first song in December of 2007, along with his brother. In 2009, Holliday would go on to become a local Michael Jackson tribute artist. Holliday would end his run as a tribute artist in 2012, due to a more focused approach on his music. In 2011, Holliday began his acting career, thanks to his choir teacher. With multiple musicals coming in the forefront of his agenda, he wanted to get back on the stage to perform. Graduating high school in 2014, he would then attend Meridian Community College. From there, he joined the MCC Dimensions as a Bass/Tenor. Holliday would obtain an associates degree in theatre from MCC. Since leaving college, Holliday participated in multiple bands. In 2018, he joined, with his best friend & ex-dimensions member Aaliyah Lee; Image of Harmony as the male lead vocalist. The group performed both secular & contemporary music. Holliday left the group to pursue a more edgier image. In mid-2019, Holliday would join Aa'Keela & The Beats as a vocalist. Mixing different genres to fulfill the hearts of the local area. Holliday found his peace & freedom with this decision. Creatively, after his mother’s and grandmother’s passing, Holliday now dedicates every work of his art to them.
