Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Cde. Chinx Chingaira | Dick Chingaira | Chinx is a short name for Chingaira. He was born in Rusape on September 27, 1955. He was married to Catherine Mazuru who died in 1996. Chingaira attended Chigora Primary School in the Makoni District of Rusape. His interest in music began when his primary school headmaster, Martin Dhlamini, encouraged him to sing and to join the school choir. On completion of secondary school, Chingaira got a place to study medicine overseas but he failed to acquire travel documents and the whole plan failed to materialise. Then in 1974 he worked at an engineering plant in Msasa, in Harare. At the end of 1975, Chinx joined the Second Chimurenga war in Mozambique. As much as he was a fighter his love for music made him a full-time organiser of theZimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front(ZANU-PF) People’s Choir. The choir that was formed was called Takawira in honour of the late nationalistLeopold Takawira. Takawira Choir became just but one of many other choirs which boosted freedom fighters’ morale during the war. Chinx had joined the guerrillas with the sole aim of liberating Zimbabwe but found himself being the leader of the Takawira choir which in no time changed its name to the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) Choir, which acted as a morale booster for the fighting cadres when Comrade Mhere Yaraira who led the group was transferred. Chinx's musical skills were later realised at independence in 1980 when he returned to Zimbabwe. He soon teamed up with Bennie Miller and Keith Farquharson to record his early chimurenga hits “Ngorimba”, “Zvikomborero” and “Nerudo”. The band soon developed to include Don Gumbo of Ilanga and more hits were recorded between 1982 and 1987. Chinx pursued a multitude of career options. Shortly after leaving Ilanga he pursued a solo career. He has also acted in films (1996’s Flame), as well as writing the score for the 1989 South African documentary Limpopo Line. After a short stint with Ilanga he moved on to team up with Mazana Movement Bandand then later with Mazana Black Spirits. His hit song entitled "Vanhu Vose VemuAfrica" translated "People of Africa" captures the essence of humanity and unity in the face of injustice and unfairness. His most outstanding hit, “Roger Confirm”, stayed on the then Radio 3’s Hitpick charts for 25 weeks in 1989 and early 1990. Every year since the 1980s during the Heroes Day, Independence Day celebrations and Africa Day holidays, all radio stations in Zimbabwe have continued to play Chinx’s liberation songs. In 2000 when the land reform started. Chinx, with the late former band mate Andy Brown backed by the Police Band when the land reform started, composed and recorded songs for the government becoming part of the Third Chimurenga. |

Search | Add | 3 | Rouge Brulé | The band/project Rouge Brulé can be defined as experimental, avant garde free form jazz and minimal cosmic psychedelia. Rouge Brulé tries to push the boundaries and explores new scapes, incorporating granular techniques and improvisation. Free form with no set structure or pre-determined chord progressions, allowing for complete creative freedom. This is Minimal cosmic music with simple, repetitive rhythms and patterns, relying on a stripped-down instrumentation. They incorporates elements of space and synthetic sounds, creating a surreal, otherworldly experience. Infused with elements of psychedelia and incorporating trippy soundscapes and mind-challenging textures. This is repetition with subtle changes and synthetic drones. These become a mass of sound, motion and vibration.

Search | Add | 3 | Transparent Curse | Originating from Antwerp. Formed in 1993, originally a trio that had to deal with several lineup changes (with guitarist [a1612928] being the only constant factor). The name Transparent Curse was derived from a fragment of a book by Guy Bogaert (‘Wat kwaad doen de Tovenaars?’ -> a story about an insane asylum). For the group, their musical past is only a “youthful indiscretion” with fun memories and educational experiences. This “youthful indiscretion” produced six demos; ‘Black Pussy’s’ - 1993, ‘At the Murder Party’ - 1995, (ref: Stage music magazine nº 6). ‘Duplicate of Alien reflections’ - 1996, ‘Sample One’ - 1996, ‘And then, there was Panic…’ - 1996 -> 100 copies sold (ref. ‘Dark Entries’ n° 15; “Heimwee allom, een prille The Cure of een sublieme Joy Division is nergens veraf...”), ‘Eine Symphonie des Grauens’ - 1996, a live video and several performances in and around Antwerp. In 1997 the tide turns and Transparent Curse becomes a five-man formation with a fixed lineup; [a1612925] - vocals, [a1612929] - bass, [a1612928] - guitar + vocals, [a1612924] - keys + guitar, [a1612926] - drums + electronic percussion. The sound with which they manage to profile themselves aligns with the Cold Wave and New Wave experiments of the '80s. Names such as [a3898], [a100654], [a71984], [a28972], [a127613] and [a3909] have therefore served as the main sources of inspiration. Gradually they manage to give it their own character and style. In addition to this, the group also gratefully uses English, German, Dutch and French lyrics. Performances follow (and continue to follow thanks to growing interest), several live videos are recorded and in August '98 the group goes into the studio for a CD recording: ‘[r1986295]’! Transparent Curse briefly described: a group that is firmly rooted in the '80s Wave with one leg and is looking for its own identity with the other. Creating your own face within an era where an abundance of electro violence is central and often despises the melancholy of floating melodies and echoing rhythms is not easy…

Search | Add | 3 | Pretty Russ | Russell Todd Malloyd | Born September 5 1973. Died October 18, 2008. Russell was born in St. Louis to Beverly Malloyd and Kenneth Bell. He was the third of four children and leaves behind two brothers, Maurice Malloyd and Henry Guilbeaux; a sister, Karen Malloyd; and a host of nieces and nephews. He graduated from University City High School in 1992 and soon after started his career in the music business. In May of 1995, he moved to Atlanta, Ga where through a friend and colleague he met R&b superstar Keith Sweat. The following year he was featured on Keith Sweat’s number 1 single “Twisted,” which sold an amazing 5 million copies in the United States alone. This makes Pretty Russ the first hip-hop artist from St. Louis to be featured on a multi-platinum album. Growing up in U.City, which is a Mecca for talent, Russ worked side by side with most of St. Louis’ elite talent, from Nelly & The St. Lunatics to Tab Money, who was signed to Eazy E’s Ruthless Records, world-famous DJ Charlie Chan & platinum producer Orlando “Pretty Boy” Watson. Pretty Russ helped to lay the foundation that most of the young hip-hop artists stand on today. His independent record label Thoro Muzick was one of the most successful labels in St. Louis. |

Search | Add | 3 | MacroDX | I´ve been addicted to synthesizers ever since I´ve heard them for the first time. And we are talking basically analog gear here. However I took a rather disturbing journey through the digital music age, which at the end did not satisfy me at all and eventually lead me to what electronic music really is to me. Analog substractive synthesis, tape delays, spring reverbs and the ambiance introduced by 70´s Sci-Fi movies and the protagonists of krautrock.

Search | Add | 3 | VCTR | Victor Louis K. | Being born in Berlin, [b]vctr [/b] (acronym for both [i]"Victor"[/i] and [i]"vicious trax"[/i]) has been influenced since his early youth by the dark sides, diverse lifestyles and subcultures of his hometown. vctr began producing in the early 2000s, under the name "p0lytox" and was mostly into producing Hip-Hop instrumentals and Psytrance for a long period of time before discovering his love for Techno. His music is characterized by its hard-hitting rhythms and psychedelic soundscapes and can be considered as a reflection of his creative vision and his approach in producing, which he sums up with: "I want to produce music I'd like to dance to myself." The tracks often feature elements of hip hop and psychedelic trance, which gives them a unique edge while he is always exploring new worlds of sound and trying to push his boundaries. His love for many different styles of music is the reason to release under a multitude of aliasses (some are:vicioustrax, vlrk, vctr, louis kay, Papy Louis, p0lytox). In all the years producing, he has honed his craft and developed a unique style that has won him a following among a small loyal circle of technoheads from his hometown Berlin. - For booking requests please write an e-mail to: bookingsvctracks@gmail.com |
