Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Tony Gil | The Washington Area Music Association gave out its annual Wammie Awards in 1997, honoring area musicians and other members of the local music scene. Jazz singer Tony Gil was the biggest winner, receiving the award for artist of the year, while his CD "Tenderly: A Tribute to Felix Grant" won as album of the year. Certainly one of Washington's most prolific musicians, Gil has released five CDs in the past 2 1/2 years. Gil, whose parents are Ecuadorean, was named best Latino vocalist, and his album "Yo Te Recuerdo" won for best Latino recording. And in the contemporary jazz category, Gil won the award for best male vocalist and his CD "Essentially Jobim" was voted best recording. That CD also won an award for best record design for Lawrence Marie. At the ceremonies in the Lisner Auditorium, Gil and Pam Bricker performed duets of "Just the Way You Look Tonight" and "One Note Samba," which helped explain Gil's many awards. WAMA has attempted to streamline the award presentations to make room for more live music. And while some might have second-guessed that decision after the maudlin performance by kiddie-folk act Bridges to Bliss, they were surely pleased about it when Ruth Brown came on. Brown, inducted this year into the WAMA Hall of Fame, received standing ovations for two rollicking numbers, including one from her Tony Award-winning role in the musical "Black & Blue." (Also inducted were jazz musicians Sonny Stitt and Donald Byrd.) The Latin jazz dance band Rumba Club started the evening off with some excellent salsa, and folk near-legend Tom Paxton performed a hilarious ode to the airline that broke his guitar. Heady, an MC with the hip-hop group 3LG, tried to get the hall going, waving his hands and shouting, "We're gonna make this a hip-hop party!" With the songs "La La (What Do You Expect?)" and "The Chain," the group nearly succeeded, despite the muddy audio mix. The Michael Sheppard Group and Ruthie & the Wranglers each poured their hearts into their two-song sets. A complete list of last night's Wammie winners will appear in the Nightwatch column in Friday's Weekend section. CAPTION: Tony Gil and Ruth Brown performing at last night's Wammies. Gil took home the award for artist of the year.

Search | Add | 3 | Baerhard | M. Baerhard | Bæhard was born in Naples in the mid-70s, spent his adolescence playing with mixers and decks, in the mid-90s he decided to start producing his own music with an atari 1200st. As a boy he loves Techno music. In the early 90's he listens to a lot of reggae music and it is almost by chance that he discovers the dub, which he loves immediately. Techno and Dub thus become a living reason for him, so labels like Basic Channel become his point of reference. So he unites his two greatest loves. He does not like to be seen in public, he does not like performing live or performing DJ sets, he loves the sea is the island of Ischia. |

Search | Add | 3 | En Busca Del Tiempo Perdido | Chilean rock & pop band. Formed 1971 in Santiago, they split 1973, and some of their members went to form the short life band [a=Los Monstruos (2)]. They planted 1973 to release a rock opera, called "El Señor Ninguno Cualquiera”, incluiding allong their already published singles (Ya Es Tiempo / Ya Es Tiempo; Amanecer / Escuchame) other songs, as the coup d´etat in their country came, cutting all their plans out, what would later guide to the dissolution of the band itself. Sadly, all the tapes of this future album (what they began to record 1972, and was actually thought to be their first LP) went gone, as the state label [l=IRT (2)] was take over, and destroyed most of the master tapes of the artist under this label. Members were: - [a=Soledad Domínguez]: vocals (1971 – 1973). - Alejandro Valenzuela: bass and vocals (1971 – 1973). - Jorge Arcaya: guitar (1971 – 1973). - Alfredo Bravo: drums (1971 – 1973).

Back in 2010, while still active as a DJ, B-Funky started producing his own funky house tracks. The Sound of Ibiza Records signed B-Funky in 2012. Search | Add | 3 | The Cinnamon Firm | Hugh Burns - Vocals, Guitar Joe Curley - Lead Guitar Michael "Denny" Dennison - Organ Jeff Lynas then Kieran McCann - Bass Paddy Johnston then Norm Burns - Drums The band were formed in November 1997 by five friends from belfast's mod / 60s revivalist scene. After only five rehearsals the band played their first gig at Copperfields in Belfast . In April 1998 Kyran McCann took over as Bassist from Geoff Lynas. The five piece were picked up by manager Jim Rielly, erstwhile of from 70's punk legends Stiff Little Fingers. This led to a session at Novatech Studios where they recorded their debut EP (which ended up being an albums worth of material). They took just one day to record 11 tracks. The subsequent release "Cottonwool Crossroads" was very well received, especially within the UK mod scene . The band then toured throughout the UK and Ireland and received some interest from US record labels. 1998 Norm Burns took over Drums from Paddy Johnston and a collection of new songs were then laid down at Ja Studios in March 1999. This led to interest from a well known boxing promoter Dean Powell. The Firm embarked on a frenzied summer of gigs and secured a regular spot at the Creature Club (Vicos). The song 'Doing Me Wrong' from the Ja sessions was penned for a single release in August 1999, however in early August everything started to break down, an american record company that was interested in signing the firm pulled out due to the death of the the record company's owner and soon to follow was the departure of the bands manager Jim Reilly. It wasn't long after that before the band started falling apart due to disappointment more than anything, Joe and Kyran packed their bags which effectively killed off the band, so rather than trying find to replacements and continue along the same path - Hugh and Norm decided to explore new directions while still drawing on their deeply ingrained influences by forming The Keepers. Paddy and Denny went on to form The Penny Dreadfuls (re-named The Dreads) Highlights of the time with the Cinnamon Firm include performing on BBC/ RTE television , playing with such great bands such as Nine Below Zero and of course spending a few hours with the modfather himself ---. Mr Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher , Matt deighton , Paulo Hewitt, Steve White etc in dublin.

Search | Add | 3 | Guarneri Del Gesu | Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri | Bartolomeo Giuseppe "del Gesù" Guarneri (21 August 1698, Cremona — 17 October 1744, Cremona), or Joseph Guarnerius del Gesu, was a renowned Italian luthier, arguably one of the greatest makers of violins in history alongside Nicolò Amati (1596—1684) and [a=Antonio Stradivari] (1644—1737). Due to the scarcity and outstanding tonal characteristics of Del Gesu violins, they are among the most expensive and sought-after today. His 1741 'ex-Vieuxtemps' violin holds the world record for any musical instrument, sold in 2012–13 for over £10.5 mln ($16.4 mln). Giuseppe originated from a distinguished dynasty of luthiers, grandson of [a=Andrea Guarneri] (1626—1698) and son of Giuseppe Filius Andreæ (1666—ca. 1740). He apprenticed at the family's workshop with his elder brother, [a9044320] (1695—1762). Guarneri's earliest extant violins, dated circa 1715–22, "mimicked" the Stradivari pattern with slight modifications — a bold and controversial choice in his family's historical context. (Casa Guarneri suffered a catastrophic decline since [a=Antonio Stradivari] opened his Cremonese workshop around 1680. Even though Giuseppe's grandfather, Andrea Guarneri, also studied at [a=Nicolo Amati]'s bench, he adhered to the "Grand Amati" canon almost religiously and wouldn't dare to change anything — unlike Stradivari, who favored a trial-and-error method and gradually evolved his instruments to unprecedented levels of precision and finesse.) In pursuit of more creative freedom, both brothers subsequently left Casa Guarneri. Pietro followed the path of their uncle, Pietro 'di Mantova', and relocated to Venice around 1717. Giuseppe, however, stayed in Cremona and opened his independent workshop circa 1726, competing against "casa familia" on the home turf for at least another decade — an even more audacious and brazen move in the conservative world of Italian luthiers. (According to most sources, they remained close as caring relatives; for instance, Giuseppe moved back to failing Casa Guarneri circa 1731 as his father's health deteriorated). The nickname del Gesù, both for Guarneri and his violins, originated from il bollo del Gesù addendum ("the Jesus stamp") adopted in the mid-1720s by Cremonese scribes to easier discern between father and son's nearly identical Latin signatures. The "Jesus stamp" refers to the luthier's distinct label, which has a cross of Jerusalem and IHS abbreviation for "Iesus Hominem Salvator," or "Jesus the Savior" in Greek: Jo∫eph Guarnerius fecit Cremonȩ anno 17## ☩IHS. Del Gesu's open-minded and experimental approach grew more drastic and riotous throughout his career. Violins dated between 1737 and 1742 moved past the Stradivari's pattern and have a distinct outline with a flatter back and table, likely inspired by Brescian luthiers Da Salò and [a5568459]. He blatantly disregarded visual aesthetics and craftsmanship to achieve warmer, more vibrant sound (in stark contrast to most Cremonese luthiers, obsessed over flawless woodgrains and purfling techniques). Some of the latest del Gesùs would even have asymmetric F-holes, carved intuitively per the specific deck's vibration points. Over his relatively short career, Guarneri produced around 200 violins, two small violins (the 1740 'Fountaine' and 1735 'Chardon' violino piccolo), and the 1731 'Messeas' cello (with erroneous Giuseppe Filius Andreæ's label). Del Gesu died at 46 and had no children. Unlike Stradivari, who was revered and distinguished in his lifetime, Guarneri only gained deserved recognition posthumously. His violins have notably darker, "robust" and sonorous midrange, particularly 315 Hz—1.25 kHz (where Strads are typically most dispensable, thriving in 200–250 Hz band or above 1.6 kHz). The earliest admirer of del Gesùs magnificent sound was an Italian virtuoso [a=Gaetano Pugnani] (1731—1798), who praised the instruments in the mid-1750s (almost three decades before Pugnani's former student, [a1265314] (1755—1824), began campaigning for Stradivarius.) The great [a206281] (1782—1840) cherished his 1743 'il Cannone' as the most valuable violin, solidifying Guarneri's contemporary fame. Search | Add | 3 | The Dead Puppies | The Dead Puppies were formed in February of 1985 with Tommie Gunz (Thom Ryerson) and Leroy Deadboy (Joe Maagdenberg) in the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Both Tom and Joe were first year students in Confederation College's film production course. Tom was originally from London, ON, and Joe from Hamilton, ON. They began as a punk country outfit, and cut a 12 minute tape consisting of 8 original tunes. A week later Trash (Joe Lafontaine) was added to the line-up and they cut another tape, live off the floor. This time out they were a little more serious and added an edge to the songs and lost the country flavor. 'The First Cut' was issued in March 1985 with 10 more original tracks. Summer break came and the band was on hiatus until the fall. Trash was replaced by Harry P. Ness (Harry Smith) who in turn was replaced with Craig Moorhouse, another film arts student. On February 4th 1986, which was also the 106th anniversary of the Donnelly Massacre, Tom, Joe and Craig convened in the film production supply room, and set up a studio. Using nothing but a 175 Watt Peavey Tube Amplifier, two Nagra IV-S Reel to Reel recorders, a Sennheiser and a Shure microphone, and a pile of patch cords and custom made tape loops, the three art students recorded two reels worth of 'music.' It was like nothing they had made before, and the recording of the track, 'Persuasion' was video-taped. (It's a video up at YouTube, check it out!) The session went for about four hours. The tapes were labelled Volume 1, and Volume 2, and then sat on a shelf for the next seven years. The boys graduated college and went on their ways. Tom settled in Cambridge, Joe in Toronto, and Craig in London. In February of 1993 Tom and his musical current partner, Stan V. Antone, took the 1986 recording session off the shelf, as as Tom had just bought a reel to reel, and they transferred the music to cassette, editing it into a 45 minute project called 'Pathological Profile.' The tape was released in April 1993, and quickly got airplay at CHRW in London, and a review in the National Campus Magazine 'Chart.' In January of 1994 Tom put together a box set of all the Dead Puppy recordings, plus three new songs that had been written in 1985, but not performed until December 1993 with Thom on vocals, Stan on guitar, Mike Vandecamp on drums, and Jeff Harris on drums. The box set contained a book with lyrics to all 29 songs, all the tracks from "E.P.", "The First Cut," and "Pathological Profile." We move ahead to when "Pathological Profile" was re-issued on cassette in April of 2005 and promoted again, to little interest. We then entered the CD age, and Tom and Stan re-edited the 1986 recordings, re-titled them, and rose again like the phoenix as Cholera. The CD was issued on June 7th 2008 under the new title of 'Sky Skraping.' We now move from the CD age to the digital age, and Tom and Stan figured it was time to get this music out across the internet via CD Baby and i-Tunes. Here we are, exactly thirty-two years to the date, and now the 138th anniversary of the Donnelly Massacre, which occurred near Lucan, Ontario. Tom and Stan believe they received positive energy from the Donnelly spirits. Tom & Stan count these following bands as their major influence; Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Coil, The Kronos Quartet, J.O.M.F., Glen Branca, John Cage, Philip Glass, Liabach, Diamanda Galas, and John Zorn. Thank you all!
