Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Holland Garcia | Holland was born on June 14, 1947 in Oakland, California. In his childhood he moved with his family to Carmel where he became a life-long resident. From an early age Holland was drawn to the arts. His natural ability, imagination, and passion for music guided him his entire life. As a young man he graduated from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and began composing and teaching music. He taught piano for many years at the Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach. Besides his talent as a musician Holland was also an accomplished author writing under the name Gene Andrade, and an artist skilled in many mediums. He was a generous individual who loved being in nature and was passionate about educating his students about the beauty of music. "I'm a lifelong seeker of truth and wisdom. For many years I studied with a famous spiritual teacher who glorified yoga and meditation. When I realized that I was out of touch with my feelings, I then studied with a teacher who glorified emotions. Feeling bored after a few years, I then studied with a teacher who glorified the mind. Awakening to the reality that all are equal and that nobody should be followed, I finally went my own way. Now I follow my own heart and look within for the light to guide me on my path." | |

Search | Add | 2 | DJ Boronas | George Boronas | Boronas begun his dj career during the mid 90's in Thessaloniki, Greece. Early influences came from his parents record collection. Some piano and guitar lessons where enough to make him realize his love for music and made him want to be a part of all that. A few years later George started to collect vinyl which ignited his passion to use these records to create a mood in a club. Soon after, at the age of 16, he got the chance to start his dj career as he started playing his first parties. At the time George was mixing break beat, jungle and intelligent drum n' bass Style. Soon he changed his musical taste and moved into deep house, house, tech-house and techno with influences that came from USA's 90's house and techno scene, as well as house from the UK. George had residencies in various clubs in his hometown of Thessaloniki and was also organising nights with Pale Penguin. Together they planned parties hosting guest DJs, live musicians and local heroes who supported the events with live instruments like sax, guitars, keyboards and percussion. Until now he has played alongside artists like Wareika, Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich, Aril Brikha. |

Search | Add | 2 | Stina August | Kristín Birgitta Ágústsdóttir | Stina August/Ágústsdóttir. Icelandic born singer. Stina August, also known as Stina Agustsdottir, was born and raised in Iceland, but has lived in Iceland, Denmark, England, Canada and now resides in Stockholm, Sweden. Stína studied at the Singing Academy in Reykjavik, Vocaltech in London and Concordia University in Montreal where she studied jazz for three years under the guidance of teachers like Madeleine Theriault, Jeri Brown, Dave Turner, Sheila Jordan and many more. She also toured with renowned Cirque du Soleil star, Francesca Gagnon before releasing her first solo album in 2007, a collection of jazz standards and songs recorded with some of the best jazz players in Canada. Stina's second solo album, Concrete World (2008), is a collection of songs written by Icelandic singer-songwriter Johann G Johannsson. The songs on the album were chosen by Stina out of Johann's vast catalog of originals and all the arrangements and many of the lyrics were created by Stina and producer Maury LaFoy (Barenaked Ladies, Jann Arden, k-os). She then moved on to become lead singer and songwriter of pop/rock band Nista and electronica duo AXXE (Mile-End Records, Rural Route Records), still keeping her jazz roots fresh with regular gigs and recordings. Amongst Stina's achievements in her career she has been voted as one of the top ten local jazz acts in Montreal, twice. She has performed at the Reykjavík Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival and regularly performs in Iceland and Sweden with well known Icelandic and Swedish jazz musicians (Max Schultz, Petur Östlund, Sigurdur Flosason, Einar Scheving etc.) Stina released her third solo album in December 2016, Jazz á íslensku (Jazz in Icelandic), that is a collection of jazz standards and folk songs in jazz arrangements with lyrics in Icelandic. Currently Stina is working on her next original solo album and performing with her group 23/8 (Björkologi project with Björk songs in jazz arrangements) and various musicians in Stockholm, Sweden. |

Search | Add | 2 | King Mellowman | Earl "King Mellowman" Clarke | Earl "King Mellowman" Clarke was born in Detroit Michigan and has been into music for as long as he can remember. The first people to recognize this musical child prodigy were his parents, Dolores M. Prophet, former alto and lead soloist for the Lucille Lemon Gospel Chorus, and Cyril L. Clarke. His father was the originator of two oustanding male singing groups, The Majestics and the Contours. "King Mellowman" is a multi talented, superbly accomplished musician whose musical versatility goes well beyond his chronological years. If you ask him what his preference is, he will surely respond that his heart and soul is overtaken by Reggae and Calypso sounds. He is also accomplished on several musical instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, drums and a range of others. While he displays a magnificent vocal range, he has never been formally trained in music theory or vocal composition. According to his parents, "he was singing before he was talking." King Mellowman has performed with a number of bands in and around the City of Detroit; among these are O.C Roberts & The Sarmaritans, Inventive Source, The King David Posse, Ako-Ben, Bandulu, Unit Ten, Level Vibes, Tropical Connection, The Detroit All-star Reggae band, The Nomads, The Basiks(Original reggae band he founded),Ras Kente and The Take No Prisoner Posse, Island Heat, Jonab, Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band, The Roots Renegades,The Ryddim Posse, Uprizin Band, Reggae Ambassadors, Roots Vibrations, The DynamicsWhich is an Old School R&B Group,The SaintsOld School R&B,Universal Xpression and most recently King Mellowman & Mellow Runnings(Which he also founded as his backing band). He has been acknowledged by his peers as the one African-American musical talent who lifted Reggae and Calypso music to the level of recognition and appreciation that it experiences today in the Detroit metro area. It has been said that as a solo artist King Mellowman is responsible for putting this form of music on the map in Detroit. He has performed as an opening act for such luminaries as:EEK-A-Mouse, Sister Carol, Junior Ried, Ken Boothe, Gregory Issacs, Mutabaruka,(The Dub Poet),Arrow (Soca King), Shabba Ranks, He has played drums for Sugar Minott, Leroy Gibbons, and Leroy Sibbles and has played keyboards for singing sensation Anthony Malvo and "The Godfather of Dancehall Reggae" U-Roy. Mellow has also had a candid interview with "The King of Dancehall Reggae" Winston (King Yellowman) Foster who is his idol and with whom he hopes to record with soon. He has contributed to studio performances for reggae sensation Frankie Paul, Josey Wales, Horace Andy, Sassafras, and Derrick Irie. Rap Group A.W.O.L. has also had their achievements in the studio enhanced by the assistance of Mellow. He has also collaborated with the Mighty Sparrow and was a backup performer for Calypso Rose. King Mellowman is a three time Metro Times Award winner. A five time Source Award winner, an a two time Detroit Music Award Nominee. King Mellowman has now formed a band called "Mellow Runnings" which consists of seasoned veterans such as: Mike "Drummy" FriedmanDrums, Eric "Bassie" Mcnary Bass, Diana "Lady D" Mcnary Rhythm & Lead Keyboards/Background Vocals,Tim a.k.a Ten "The Tenth Wonder Of The World" Rhythm & Lead Keyboards, Akil a.k.a "A.K."Rhythm & Lead Guitar/Frontground Vocals, Cathy "Let's Do This" Wright Background Vocals, and last but not least Shirley "Ola" Mason Background VocalsMellow also features other singers such as "Queen Nosha." Now King Mellowman along with Mellow Runnings are ready to show the world that even though the runnings now a days are hard and tough, the music that King Mellowman & Mellow Runnings display can really make the "Runnings" smoothe and "Mellow". |

Search | Add | 2 | Sommerhus | sommerhus | Sommerhus is the Rotterdam-based duo of singer-songwriter and guitarist Vera Jessen-Juhrend and the classicly-trained double bass player and singer Peter Jessen. Combining elements of acoustic pop, classical music and avant-garde, they’ve created their own unique sound in which intimacy and tranquility share the leading role with melody and finely-tuned vocal harmonies. They have performed material from both their eponymous debut album Sommerhus (2013) and its successor Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Love? (2016) in clubs, theatres and living rooms from the Netherlands to Denmark to south-east Africa. Recently Sommerhus released songs created from ‘jozzonets’ by poet Joz Knoop. These songs were accompanied by a video created by artists or filmmakers. Currently Vera and Peter are working on new material. |

Search | Add | 2 | Міко | Михайло Ковальчук | Mykhaylo Kovalchuk was a Ukrainian virtuoso classical guitarist (1963–2002). His only released albums, the cassette "Hidden by the Curtain" and the CD "Міко" featured his Flamenco guitar and Latin jazz compositions. Mykhaylo Kovalchuk was born in Lvlv (Ukraine) on 3 July 1963. His father was born on the border between France and Spain, which is where Mykhaylo got his first influences from Latin forms of music. His first involvement with music began as a child studying violin. Mykhaylo didn't like the instrument and gave it up for playing the guitar. He was a self taught player and after seeing a concert of Paco de Lucia decided that the style of Flamenco was the direction he would take. His understanding and knowledge of Flamenco came strictly from listening to popular flamenco artists works since guitar teachers and other player in that style of music didn't exist in the country. His early performances were with Ukrainian bands playing progressive rock and Latin jazz but it wasn't fulfilling, so he broke into a solo career concentrating on original compositions. His performances took him to concerts and festivals all over Eastern Europe Mykhaylo's first recordings "Hidden by the Curtain" on cassette was released in 1997 while he was touring in Prague. In the following year he had sold 7000 cassette tapes. After his return to Ukraine, Kyv's national TV studio produced a music video called "Wind under the sea" which was aired on all Ukrainian and Prague stations for 3 months. In Ukraine Mykhaylo was the only acoustic guitarist that wrote and performed music in this style. He spent approximately 6 months playing a duet with a flamingo dancer in a Latin club. Mikhailo also established his respect in front of other international guitarists by being a prizewinner of numerous festivals all over Europe. In 1998 Mykhaylo had moved to Prague where he concentrated on writing new compositions and performing locally. He lived in Prague for 2 years and during those years Prague records were considering signing Mykhaylo to a record deal and as a result he recorded material for two new CDs. Due to unfortunate circumstances Mikhailo developed problems with his right hand after being attacked just before a festival and had to return home to Lviv where his hand was operated on three times. For 2 years Mykhaylo could not play his instrument falling into a deep depression which led him to drinking. He started playing once more, playing at smaller venues, building up his hand to be able to perform for larger audiences in larger venues. Unfortunately Mykhaylo Kovalchuk never reached these goals and he died on 12 November 2002. Mikhailo Kovalchuk once said: "This burning style full of fire and eruption is mine. It can also be melancholic, yet wildly lyrical. A fusion of psychological and flamenco entwined in thoughts, jazz and silence — though within the silence there is still such boldness". |
