Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Ukrainain Chorus "Dumka" of America | The Ukrainian chorus "Dumka" of New York City was originally formed in September of 1949 as an exclusively male chorus. The first concert, featuring Christmas Carols, was held in 1950 and was followed by others in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Holl, Madison Square Garden, many of which were broadcast by radio stations. In 1959 "Dumka" became a mixed chorus, and it is in this form that it performed extensively in Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto and Montreal. Former chorus directors were Messrs. A. Bernyk, L. Krushelnycky, (first director), O. Mykytiuk, I. Sonevychy, R. Stepaniak, I. Zadorozny, I. Zukowsky. The chorus takes its name from the Ukrainian word "dumka", which means epic folk song, a form popular in the 16th through 18th centuries. The "Dumka" chorus is presently performing under the direction of Semen Komirsky. Mr. Komirsky studied music in Lviv (Ukraine), and was graduated from Uzhorod Music College (Ukraine) as an instructor in vocal music and choral conducting.

Search | Add | 3 | Manzoor Ahmad Khan Niazi | Ustad Manzoor Ahmed Khan Niazi has passed away today. He was 98. He was, both age-wise and stature-wise the senior-most Qawwal in the Indo-Pak Subcontinent. He had one of the most instantly recognizable and absolutely, mellifluously endearing voices in all of Qawwali. He was the leader of the most phenomenally gifted, albeit short-lived Qawwali group of the last century, a Supergroup which included his cousins Munshi Raziuddin Khan. Ustad Bahauddin Khan and Iftekhar Ahmed Nizami, and whose surviving recordings seem to date from a time and place that's almost too phenomenally wonderful that merely listening to them sometimes feels like an act of desecration. His last recordings, from when he was 90 years old, still carried the same verve, the same 'taazgi' as his recordings from the '60s His was the voice that first sang Maulana Jami's "Naseema" and Nawab Hilm's "Yaad Hai Kuch Bhi Hamaari Kanhaiyya" to me, and even today I can scarcely appreciate these two canonical Qawwali kalaams in any other Qawwal's voice. With Niazi Sb's passing closes the chapter of the Golden Age of Pakistani Qawwali. He was a predecessor of, and later a contemporary of Nusrat, The Sabri Brothers, Aziz Mian Qawwal, Bakhshi Salamat Qawwal, Aziz Ahmed Warsi, Jafar Hussayn Khan Badayuni and ALL the Qawwals of the latter three quarters of the twentieth century. He survived them all well into the twenty-first century before finally returning to his Maker

Fine sounds come out of it, so that you can still clearly hear the spectators holding their breath. Mostly in German, sometimes in English, they sing about the moments in life that one would rather have forgotten. And all the others too |

Search | Add | 3 | Total Defekt | Total Defekt was formed around 1983 in Hamburg and started as a rock-band with punk influences. The style changed more and more to melodic Punk-Rock in the course of time. There were lots of line-up changes in the early days of the band. Total Defekt played a couple of shows, did Studio recordings, made many many songs and split up in 1986. In 1989 the band reformed by the late guitar player Dauxi and the singer and founding member Hodzy. Then their style includes a bit metal / hardcore influences, but still was melodic punk at its core. Again they made many many songs, went to a studio couple of times, played quite a lot of shows, released a handfull of tapes + one cd. This quartet had the most stable line-up. Soon after there was a change in the line-up, the band eventually split up in the late nineties.

He discovered music early on as a creative way of expression and personal processing of emotions and life events. For nearly 10 years, his production did not receive any attention until producer and label owner Kirill Guk (Follwoing Light) discovered one of his tracks on SoundCloud and finally signed Nico for his first release. In the same year followed more releases on other labels, collaboration projects and Gigs as a guest DJ in scene-relevant radio streams in which Nico gained recognition in the electronic underground. |

Inspired mainly by Drumcorps and multiple nu-metal bands (check out the artist playlist for all inspirations), Whiteweek has entered the game with metal/breakcore genres mix, using the down-tuned and distorted guitars, along with extremely fast amen breakbeats. In conclusion, Whiteweek is an infectious spirit. Any other details are merely salad dressing. 🎸🥁🎶

Search | Add | 3 | Socially Ill | In March of 2023, after creating an elaborate concept EP the month prior, Brinley Woodall, the musician behind the project, Socially Ill, was hit with an ounce of inspiration after hearing "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure. Within two months, a concept spawned out of seven tracks, guitars, drums, MIDI instruments, and synthesizers swell creating cohesive musicianship. The three songs featured on all streaming platforms are an introduction to this idea. The album's concept explores depths into the human psyche of an obsessed lover; who disassociates from reality; then reality hits with depression knowing her crush will reject her. Inspired by one EP and three albums from bands that were not known by the mainstream (The Influents, Summer Fazed, Ultra Q, and ZigZag Hearts) both hailing from Oakland, California, The Cure’s alluring tales of love, Oasis’s iconic brit-pop tone, nihilistic philosophy, and Edgar Alan Poe's cynical and dreary poetry. Later in the process, Bob Dylan’s acoustic ballads, lyrical, and vocal ability intrigued her, and then Beck’s track “I Think I’m Falling in Love” was a lyrical inspiration as well. The band Neutral Milk Hotel’s 1998 release, In an Airplane Over the Sea, was also a foundation for surreal lyrics and storytelling. Sage of the Fire Dragon The album opens with the track "Sage of the Fire Dragon" as a synthesizer opens following a flood of sound with swelling guitar, and drums. The lyrical content is the narrator being introduced to her crush, questioning if the crush cares about the relationship the two supposedly have. Later, alcoholism and coping mechanisms are addressed, and the person has to deal with day-to-day life with constant anxiety and paranoia. Love Letter of Self-Deprivation An alluring, haunting, and nostalgic reminiscing of the riff, "In Circles" by Sunny Day Real Estate and The Cure opens this ballad epic. The track demonstrates the narrator's obsessed tendencies towards the crush, learning more about his self-destructive coping mechanisms as the song progresses. The track's chorus is "Influents" inspired by the words "some people care what you say, others want to ruin your day, others have no reason, but you crave a love letter of self-deprivation." The song also references Shakespeare's comedy, Midsummer's Dream. Summer Phase Summer Phase is the third single and final single for the album. This track reminisces on the pop punk music from the 1970s to the present day. It has inspiration ranging from power-pop legends: Cheap Trick, Television and alternative artists: Pixies, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Deftones, Alice In Chains, and Summer Fazed (hence the title). In the story of the album, it is about the lover believing they lost the person they are fascinated with believing they have a chance together. Information about Socially Ill Socially Ill was a solo project formed in Perkinston, Mississippi by Brinley Woodall; during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic's social distancing measures and the artist's socially anxious nature, they started the solo project. Inspired by the 90s grunge rock movement and the past to present Southern California indie and punk scenes, their influences range from bands like Green Day, Nirvana, Metallica, Ultra Q, and Grumpster. Socially Ill's first EP, Mental Prisoners of the Mental Prison was initially released on February 17, 2022. Their second EP, The Chronicles of Problems with Internal Consciousness, was released on Bandcamp on February 12, 2023. Their second EP was released on other streaming platforms on April 24, 2023, through the distribution service, RouteNote. The ZigZag Hearts, The Influents, Summer Fazed, Oasis, Bob Dylan, and The Cure are Socially Ill's current influences. Their debut album, Love Letter of Self-Deprivation, was released on October 10, 2023. "Special thanks to Greg Schneider (of the bands: The Influents, Summer Fazed, & ZigZag Hearts; photographer; cinematographer) for giving me encouragement for making this happen!" -Socially Ill, The Chronicles of Problems with Internal Consciousness; Bandcamp
