Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The North Delta-area foursome had a following on the Vancouver music scene in the mid- to late-1990s, but things fell apart before an album was properly recorded and released. The original recording tapes had survived many moves and weathered various garages through the years, according to vocalist/guitarist John Nikolic. This year, the four guys started the tedious task of extracting the recorded tracks into today’s usable technology formats and begin mixing the songs.

Search | Add | 4 | Kristen Lee Sergeant | Kristen Lee Sergeant is a jazz vocalist and composer of effervescent energy, musical intensity and dramatic flair. DownBeat Magazine has given both her albums the distinction of being an Editor’s Pick, citing how she “crafts moments of engaging drama, whether she’s seductively sliding into a note with a near-whisper, delivering a breathy revelation or belting out a lyric with full-throated muscularity.” She commits to telling a story in her music and performance style, while sparking spontaneous sonic conversation with her fellow musicians. Such commitment, and its results, captivate her audiences, whether in live performance or listening to her recordings. Kristen’s current release, Smolder, is a story of fire — love ignited, ablaze and extinguished. DownBeat critic Bobby Reed writes “This elegant album illustrates what can happen when admirable ambition is paired with vocal vibrancy.” Alongside her inventive arrangements of jazz standards and pop hits, she also makes her debut as a songwriter of originality and craft. “Balm/Burn”, one of the originals, also provides the music for her first music video that has been lauded by pop and jazz critics alike. NeuFutur commented that with this video Kirsten “is able to refresh a storied jazz vocal tradition that traces its way back about 100 years.” Sergeant studied classical voice and had an extensive career as a stage actress before moving to NYC, where she found the intimacy of cabaret compelling, and eventually fell in love with jazz. “It wasn’t really a choice; I was captured by the music.” Kristen recollects, citing Marilyn Maye, Carmen McRae and Mark Murphy as inspirations, then and today. She began singing with a big band, worked with small combos in cigar bars, hookah lounges, nursing homes, “wherever I could”, she adds. Coupled with intensive study with singer/composer Tom Lellis, she evolved her vocal style and musicianship in a totally new direction, taking the best of what stage training offered and crafting her approach to jazz with intensive work. She won the Jazz Forum Arts vocal competition in 2014, and in addition to enthusiastic acclaim for her first album, Kristen has also performed at Birdland, Iridium, Zinc Bar, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Joe’s Pub and L.A.'s BlueWhale. In addition to her work in music, she is also a certified sommelier with experience in some of NYC’s best restaurants. Her creativity found its way into her work with wine in Two Notes, a Bordeaux blend from California she created with Ted Nash.

Search | Add | 4 | Rose Bayonet | ROSE BAYONET : Stefan Lavington - Guitar Jerry Pearse-Smith - Drums Geoff Dunn - Vocals Matthew Hudson - Bass Previous members: Jeff Borra - Vocals Peter Appleboom - Bass Warwick Hill - Bass The New Zealand hard rock / heavy metal band, ROSE BAYONET, was very popular in N.Z. throughout the early ‘80s. The Wellington-based quartet would often perform to capacity crowds at venues such as Quinn’s Post in Upper Hutt, The Cabana in Napier, Mainstreet, The Gluepot and Manukau Arms in Auckland. The group proved to be a powerful support act for Cold Chisel in 1982, at Wellington Town Hall. The biggest concert that ROSE BAYONET played was on the main stage at Sweetwaters Festival on January 28th, 1983 -- which was also one of their last gigs. There were reportedly over 35,000 attendees at the Festival. The group’s energetic live sets were comprised of mostly original material, with suitably heavy titles such as “Demon Rider”, “Let It Die”, “Headbanger”, “Tough Road”, “Six Feet Under”, “Hell on Earth”, “Predator” and several more. ROSE BAYONET performances were unforgettable and notoriously loud (the band took their own huge p.a. system on the road) with flash pot explosions, a great light show, obligatory dry ice and special effects, all added for good measure. ROSE BAYONET recorded an exciting selection of self-penned songs at EMI Studios in Wellington in 1982 (the group had no bass player at that point, so Stefan Lavington played all guitar and bass on the studio recordings). Their shot at the international heavy metal market didn’t eventuate though, as EMI NZ chose not to sign the band, despite their live performances being all the rage. After ROSE BAYONET split up, a couple of young RB fans (Shane Joyce & Stephen Britland) managed to get hold of the studio demo master tapes. Shane & Stephen used their own money to fund the release of the ROSE BAYONET LP, entitled ‘Leather and Chains’. (Four additional live tracks were added to the five studio cuts). It was issued onto the NZ market via Jayrem Records, with a sole pressing of only 500 copies. The very basic cover artwork, text errors and songwriting credit guess work left a lot to be desired, but at last ROSE BAYONET were finally documented on vinyl. The record is now highly collectable and sought after by avid metal fans worldwide, wanting to hear what Kiwi heavy rock was all about. A couple of other live ROSE BAYONET tracks also appeared on the similarly rare N.Z. compilation ‘Godzone Metal’ LP in 1983.

He was a court musician of Dewas and Kolhapur. In his day, Rajab Ali Khan was known as much for his tremendous musical acumen as for his picaresque ways. A master vocalist, he was also proficient on the Rudra Veena, Sitar and Jala-Tarang. Several musicians of high standing learnt from him, among them his nephew Aman Ali Khan of the Bhendibazar Gharana (and through Aman Ali the influence extended to Amir Khan), Nivruttibuwa Sarnaik, Ganpatrao Dewaskar and others. Lata Mangeshkar, too, briefly took Taleem from Rajab Ali during her stint under Aman Ali. In 1909, he was conferred the title of Sangeet Ratna Bhushan by the Maharaha of Mysore. His last big musical programme was held in 1957, in Bombay.

Search | Add | 4 | Nicholas Edward Williams | More than ever before, a wealth of people are writing songs and playing the acoustic guitar. So much so, that it can be perceived as a tired idea. But every once in awhile, there are artists that come into the fold who are living the unique music they create. Such is the case with Seattle-born fingerpicking stomp box rover, Nicholas Edward Williams. Williams was injected with a bohemian lifestyle during a nomadic childhood. By the time he was twelve years of age, his family of four had already moved across four states and nearly ten houses from the west to the east coast. He had no idea that he was being unconsciously groomed to live the Kerouac condition one day; destined to ramble, tell stories of nature, moral ground, and singing about the great people and the multiple levels of the human experience in travel. "My Grandparents took my sister and I from California to Hershey, PA and back a few times through the summer, and we took different routes each time to see various landmarks and plenty of gravestones of people I’d never met. Needless to say, I the desire to move around is in my blood." Williams began living a life on the road full-time in 2012 to pursue his music. First in a Honda Element, and later a self-converted Sprinter Van, carrying everything he owned inside a 20 foot vessel with his wife for three years. The simplistic lifestyle of spending ample amounts of time in nature and meeting various characters enabled Williams to focus his writing on the evolving self and observations of his surroundings, as opposed to the over-saturated topic of love and heartbreak that have dominated airwaves for decades. "For me, there is an unrivaled freedom in allowing life to unfold in front of you, rather than trying to grab life by the horns so you can feel like you’re in control. There are hardships of course on the road, but nothing that isn’t already a part of the process if you’re a career musician. You just have to adjust accordingly if you want longevity.” The sound that you hear from Williams now isn't exactly the same as it used to be. The bones were there, though the style he was destined for has only been recently discovered. From 2007 to 2018, Williams performed under the folk-soul moniker "Whetherman". During those years, he independently released eight full-length albums while continuously touring across the US, as well as throughout the UK and Western Europe. Williams was also afforded opportunities to opened for acclaimed acts such as Taj Mahal and The Wood Brothers. He owes his success to being exposed to roots and string music early on, forever shaping his career. "I essentially 'grew up' as a musician at a very special place called The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. I had the pleasure of performing at roots music festivals there since 2010, and that's where I was first exposed to Bluegrass, Old Time and Traditional Folk Music." This opened his eyes to a whole new world of possibilities for the direction of his music, though it wouldn't be fully realized until many years later. By mid 2017, Williams had hit a wall in his personal life and musical career, after nearly six years without a reasonable break. He decided to cancel two months of tour, and moved to Central America for seven months, by far the longest step back since launching the project. His goal was to reframe his mentality, and find a spark. This led to an evolution in musical style, dropping the "Whetherman" moniker and a desire to set forth under his full name starting in 2019. With a fresh thirst for learning fingerpicking techniques, Williams dove in depth to school himself in the history of American music, from Appalachian folk, country blues, Piedmont Blues, and deep rooted Mississippi Delta blues from the likes of Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt and Elizabeth Cotten. His affinity for songwriting also grew and matured from an unfeigned love for storytellers like John Prine, Paul Simon and Jim Croce. “I’ve become a student again. I’m absolutely fascinated with tracing American music back to it’s immigrant roots, and how these styles have woven the fabric of roots music as we know it today.” The troubadour tells stories of the silent, simple perils of the average Joe. He plays on the cliche rhythms of married life, the age of convenience, the footprint of our generation, paying homage to his musical heroes, imagery of men drinking to the follies of America, and good old-fashioned murder ballads. Williams has his own brand of satire, simple honesty, and vivid imagery that translates into energetic live shows, harnessing rhythmic fingerpicking, soaring vocals, rolling harmonica, heart-thumping stomp box and charismatic whistling. All of which is backed with engaging descriptions and infectious personality between songs. With renewed energy and fervor, Williams is set to release his debut solo album titled, ‘As I Go Ramblin' Around’ in June of 2019.

She chooses her subject matter by finding girls who "could be said to have ‘imperfect’ faces and 'flawed' bodies". She pre-visualizes the portrait but is open to improvisation. The portraits bring out the "inherent grace in their changing faces and bodies." She usually finds the girls in her hometown. She is also trying to capture some of the details of older homes in the area using them as backgrounds. Over the years, Van Meene has also turned to still lives, portraits of animals, and fashion photography. She has been featured on CNN, TIME and more. She is a sought after workshop leader and has been commissioned to do projects by the Pump House to do a series on teenage mothers and the New York Times commissioned her to travel to Japan to photograph Japanese girls. In 1969 he founded the Institute of Audio Research, the first school in the country dedicated to the subject. After retiring from the IAR, Grundy founded International Cutterhead Services, a company for restoring and installing disc mastering systems, of which he had collected several during the period of transition from vinyl to CD. |

Search | Add | 4 | Cezar Lacrone | Balázs Kányási | Cezar Lacrone aka. Bhalaaz, alias Balázs Kányási was born in 1983 25 May. He showed special interest in music as a child, Dj Kühl - Liquid Trance & Heaven Session was the first CD that made a really great impression on him in the year 2000 and directed his interest towards electronic music. House and progressive house mix music also had a remarkable influence on Cezar Lacrone's style. In 2003 he decided to make a great step and have his talent rated as a composer. His immature first pieces didn't fit to any defined style, they were rather the manifestation of his soul through music. He began building up his compositions with the awareness of musical structure in 2005. His individual style also took shape so he began making progressive house music with considerable software backup. By 2005-2006 more than 60 pieces of his music were waiting on the hard disc of his computer to be published. However, due to lack of the time and negligence they were not given to any publishers then. During this period he made friends with a lot of musicians appreciated in many music sections, we can find among them Dj Sandy Martinez aka. Alexsession, Dj Somi aka. Airplay 47, Shokey. During years 2007-2009 nothing special happened worth mentioning, his career prospects as a musician seemed to fall through, he laid stress upon making designs of websites, 3D sights. After a time it changed from a hobby into a job. In June 2009, due to the urge of his friends Richard Sanders and Shokey, he dusted his old pieces of music and sent them to a publisher. It hit him as a real wonder that most of them were accepted by the publishers. This inspired him so much that he began composing again with reborn enthusiasm. He hopes to meet all the challenges and music requirements of our time. "Music which can alter the man is the mirror of the soul." |

Search | Add | 4 | Full Time Soldiers | Seattle rap group, “F.T.S.” (Full Time Soldiers), was formed in 1996 when mutual friends introduced D-Sane to a pair of rappers named Smoke Dog & J-Dub. F.T.S. was originally a 3 man group, with D-Sane not only being an MC, but also handling the producer, DJ and recording engineer roles as well. Not long after, the trio would meet rappers Villain and Drama, drafting them into the squad. Soon, BD (or Brokedown originally) would emerge from prison to join the group as well, making a total of 6 members. Their early 4-track recordings from 1997 sprawled into what would later become known as the “Keep it Real” CD and was widely distributed amongst friends throughout the Puget Sound area. As bootleg copies of their material started to circulate, people became hooked on this new Seattle sound that featured spitfire lyrics and hard-hitting production from then seasoned beatsmith, D-Sane. After receiving large amounts of positive feedback from fans hungry for more, the label and artists decided it was time to put out a real album. In early 1998, F.T.S. began working on their debut self-titled album “Full Time Soldiers.” During this time, Brazy-J came into the mix, putting the group at 7 members. Unfortunately not long after, personal disagreements between D-Sane, Smoke Dog & Brazy-J would have D-Sane removing the 2 from the group and involvement in the project. Hence the reason they were absent from the debut album. Around this same time, D-Sane received an odd voicemail on his pager of somebody playing music with a dope MC rapping about Seattle. He eventually discovered the anonymous voice belonged to none other than their neighborhood homie Madd Dogg, immediately drafting him into the group and once again bringing the total to 6 members. F.T.S. was already partially into the recording of the album, but managed to get Madd Dogg onto several songs and redo some photography for the cover. Madd Dogg is not featured in any other pics because he wasn’t a member at the time of the initial photo shoot. In August 1998, D-Sane formally started Street Level Records and F.T.S. went on to release their debut album, gaining an incredible buzz in the Puget Sound area and selling over 1,000 copies. For a fledgling indie label and group, it was a major accomplishment. This was confirmed when SLR & F.T.S received their first national media attention by being named in the Rap Sheet Magazine 1998 Regional Round–Up as one of the few Seattle groups to “shake things up.” Around the same time, Villain opted to leave the group for reasons unknown and F.T.S. was once again 5 members. Following the success of their first album, F.T.S. expanded the group roster by drafting Byrdie & YG Red. D-Sane would also reconcile with Smoke Dog & Brazy-J, bring them back into the group for a total of 9 artists. They immediately went to work on a follow-up album entitled “Money Motivated,” which was released in March of 2000. Demand for the new album was so great, Sam Goody stores were taking reservations several months prior to it’s release, a first for any Seattle based Hip-Hop group or record label. The single’s “Player’s Policy” and “Lately” received heavy rotation on KUBE 93’s “Future Flavors” show. Phone lines lit up and requests poured in as F.T.S. started their invasion into the world of mainstream music. The massive amounts of radio feedback garnered F.T.S. a spot at the 2000 KUBE 93 Pre-Summer Jam Party where they literally stole the show and left a club full of people screaming for more. “Money Motivated” remains one of the best selling Seattle Hip-Hop albums available in stores to date. F.T.S. went on to dominate cyberspace by taking over MP3.com and securing it’s position at the top of the West Coast charts for 3 years, receiving more than 500,000 downloads and beating out household names such as Snoop Dogg. After selling thousands of units and rockin’ shows all over the NW, the crew disbanded in late 2001 due to internal conflicts between various members of the group, but the classic music that was created lives on many years after it’s release and is among some of the most sought after underground Seattle Hip-Hop ever created!! F.T.S. spawned the solo careers of Byrdie, Smoke of F.T.S. and Greedy BD aka Byron Douglas who have all released projects since their departure from Street Level Records.

Search | Add | 4 | Feral is the Kid | Jake Zimkiewicz | On his debut album, Feral is the Kid confronts themes of darkness, grief, loss, and death - all themes that have surrounded the human condition in some way, shape, or form. Though an exaggeration of real life events, the record is rooted in realism in some way. The 48 minute concept record follows the likes of it's titular character, Kid Vicious. Real life situations inspired the 11 tracks on the record. From the death of family members to the loss of friendships. From the feeling of self hate to the confusion of religion and spiritualism. While the record might have an unfortunate ending, this is just the beginning of a story years in the making for Feral is the Kid. Born Jake Zimkiewicz in Massachusetts, Zimkiewicz wasn't brought into a musical family. It was only when he showed interest at a young age that he was placed in voice lessons from the local church choir director. After singing in church and seeming to grow musically, Zimkiewicz moved to Florida with his family. At the age of fourteen, he composed his own tracks in his bedroom. He created some of his first songs (some of which you may be able to find online still) and began what would eventually become the Feral is the Kid project. "Music is something I'll always have. It's always something I'll be involved in. Once I start, I can't stop. This is only the beginning." |
